So to start

espout, Imustbecrazy, piglet how are you doing?

Luce2006 · 10/07/2011 14:04

good afternoon ladies :) can I join you? Bringing a basket full of chocolate and some drinks!! I"m Luce and have a boy who'll be 5 this month.
Stopped the pill in October 09 and started TTC number 2. after few cicles I realized that my periods were really weird and I had the feeling I wasn't ovulating at all. Kept going back and forth to the GP to try and get her to send me to have some tests done to check my hormones.well, to keep a long story short, after loads of arguing I was offered some Clomid and also sent for some checks and it turned out that I had a growth on my pituiatiry gland that wasn't making me ovulate so in Feb this year I was finally put on drugs to shrink it and get me prolactine levels down to right levels. I've been tempting for the past 4 cycle and things seem to be back to normal now.
So,good luck to us all and looking forward to getting to know you all!

ColleenEatsVeg · 09/07/2011 20:43

On amazon they are only £9 I have the pregancy tests too (kind you have to use a cup) friend swears by them and a lot cheaper than the ones in shops. For the price I am going to give them a two month trial will keep you posted

marthamay · 09/07/2011 20:24

2become3 Yes, I had some very convincing morning sickness last month - I was absolutely certain that I was pregnant. I still wonder if it was possibly a very early ending chemical pregnancy - not strong enough to get a positive....

Not really any symptoms yet this month except when DS is BF I get very very painful nipples - I think this happens around ov time but not sure why they would be so sore now.

I also started FF this weekend. I'm really not sure how I'm going to go with it because DS is a rubbish sleeper so it will be difficult to temp given that I rarely get three consecutive hours at regular times. Also, I think BF can interfere with your temps but not sure how. Anyone have any experience of this?

Colleen 60! a good deal?

ColleenEatsVeg · 09/07/2011 19:15

I just picked up 60 ov sticks from amazon. Not meant to ov for another two weeks but swear FF is giving me cm signs.

twobecomethree · 09/07/2011 18:35

MuckyHC that's rubbish news for your friend, I hope that they've come to terms with it ok and found a resolution.

So I've only just started using FF this week and according to my previous "chart" (based on last few cycles where I've been using ov sticks and length) I'm not due to ovulate for another 6-8 day, but I definitely have had EWCM for last few days but ov sticks don't show that I'm oving yet so bit confused. Decided we should swi anyway but not sure we'll be able to keep it up for 2-3 weeks!! Has anyone else found those ov sticks accurate?

Martha - know how you feel, last month I was convinced I had 3 or 4 really positive symptons - I'm on this bus so you've obviously figured how wrong I was then!! What are your symptons? Just another eternity week to wait for you - I'll keep my fx.

marthamay · 09/07/2011 13:43

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend.

How many of us are into the 2ww now, must be a good few?

fretfree Well done on all that shagging! Hubby and I just had a 3 day bonking fest last week when I had EWCM, I know that's not really the way to go about it but it was funWink. Fingers X'd for you for this month.

SO, I'm also into the 2ww and going quietly mental. I'm now aprox 6DPO and although I was doing ok days 1-5, I'm starting to feel the strain now and very conscious that there are some HPT's burning a hole in my bathroom cabinet! PLEASE SAVE ME FROM TESTING EARLY.
Last month was a nightmare, went through about 6 tests before AF appeared. I had SO many pregnancy-like symptoms though....I'm trying really hard not to do it this month. It's very hard not to though isn't it?
muckyHC that's a very sad story about your friend - I hope he finds a way to have some children, it must be very difficult.

If anyone does want to indulge in some shameless symptom spotting, I'm all ears....!

fretfree · 09/07/2011 12:27

So - I think I am past my OV dates, so now into the dreaded 2 week wait. I am impressed that people are much more systematic in their monitoring. I wake up several times throughout the night, which I think undermines any Basel temperature monitoring (although not tried though) and the cheapie OV sticks I bought off EBay had to go into pee that had cooled down - after 10 am Confused: not really an option at the office!!! Anyone else come across these??

Anyhow, just been sh@gging every other day since day 7 and every day from day 11 so fingers crossed now :). If this is not successful then we start IUI next month, so quite nervous.

Muckyhighchair · 09/07/2011 11:17

Twobecomethree

My best mate for 36 yrs has been very careful about not getting anyone preggers only to find out once he had got married and started trying that a case of mumps he had when he was 12 killed all his swimmers. And now cant have kids.

I feel so sorry for him. [hsad]

twobecomethree · 08/07/2011 19:54

It only takes one time Rosie. Everyone around me seems to be pregnant at the moment too, which I'm happy for them about, just hope I'll join them soon. It's ironic how you spend years trying to avoid getting pregnant then some struggle when they want it more than anything Hmm

RosyRosie · 08/07/2011 15:59

Bah. Only managed to have the sort of sex that would lead to getting pregnant once and I don't think the timing was right really...Feeling a bit grumpy about that, and not really helped by the news that an old school friend is pregnant accidentally. I've been pregnant myself accidentally...how on earth do we manage it?

orangehead · 08/07/2011 11:53

Im pretty lazy but find ff ok. I couldnt be bothered reading all the emails they sent out.Just had a very quick read of how to get started. Take my temp each morning. After a couple of days its just rountine. I find it less stressfull. Its always nice to see on screen that you have ov and I find I can feel a bit more relaxed in the 2ww because I know I have ov and that that part is working ok rather than wondering if I definetly did. Although still hate the 2ww. Also my temp drops on day af comes so even if it comes in the evening I know in the morning. Its horrible on that day otherwise when you keep checking every time you go to the loo and each time you have nothing you come a little bit more convinced this might be your month and then af to comes in the evening. FF makes me feel abit more in control

lalabaloo · 07/07/2011 21:21

ColleenEatsVeg · 07/07/2011 20:57

You ladies are so clever. I might have to look into OPK's on amazon. good luck everyone!

JamieJay · 07/07/2011 20:30

Hey everyone - hope everyone is good

CD17 here and have got a fair amount of swi in over the last 10 days. Have no real idea if I have ovulated as no EWCM and can't be doing with either FF or OPK's (very lazy cow emotion!)

Hats off to those of you who can keep it up though.

Guess I'll be in the 2ww from this weekend whatever happens - just have to keep fingers crossed that I have ovulated.

Notinmykitchen · 07/07/2011 19:59

Hats off to all of you doing FF, seems far too much like hard work to me, but then I am a lazy cow! Got a positive on an OPK today so fingers will be doing the sex thing tonight, then keeping fingers firmly crossed!!

ColleenEatsVeg · 07/07/2011 14:48

Thanks Liliana will head to amazon. :)

twobecomethree · 06/07/2011 22:15

Brilliant - thanks Liliana, am off to check it out now :)

Liliana1 · 06/07/2011 21:53

Fertility friend - it's a website you can use to chart your cycles - there is a free version or you can pay for vip which does more for you in reading your chart. If you google it you'll find it

twobecomethree · 06/07/2011 20:36

Sorry to be naive but what's FF? What's the app called Piglet?

Piglet28 · 06/07/2011 18:08

Well i'm about 8DPO I think, got some weird crampy pains but trying not to read anything into it, had this before and BFN!

FF isn't that bad, i've got the app on my phone (it's free) you just tap the calendar day and enter your temp and CM, and it sync's it to the online site and does your chart for you... if I can do it anyone can!

Good luck

Liliana1 · 06/07/2011 17:55

Colleen I got my thermometer off amazon - about £3 - called babymad, does the job for me.

FF looks complicated but it's ok once you get started. I just started by taking temp each morning (at the same time which is annoying on weekends!!) If you pay for VIP think it works everything out for you but I don't and manage ok. Just learn a bit more each time and you'll soon get the hang of it.

ColleenEatsVeg · 06/07/2011 17:29

Best of luck everyone and I'm glad I am not the only one a bit confused by FF. We are going to enjoy "every other day..maybe I'm fertile quick! Everyday, okay let's not be too obsessed..back to every other day" method.

tipp2chicago · 06/07/2011 15:27

We've been ttc for two years. I have PCOS and only just started Clomid - this is my second cycle with it. Didn't really manage to SWI last month for loads of reasons (bereavement etc) but hopefully this month. Fingers crossed now anyway. (But not legs obv.)

orangehead · 06/07/2011 14:57

Thats the attitude Figaro.
Im using ff, finding it useful
