Ah Gum I have every faith in you getting pregnant again and carrying to term. I know from my own experiences that mcs after a pretty easy time of getting pregnant and having babies can be pretty hard to square with your ideas of where your fertility is at. I've had mcs myself, one before ds (dc4) and 2 before this one, and I count myself pretty lucky (looking back - didn't at the time). I suppose if I had stuck at 3 kids, I would never have known mcs. Is there anyone that can give you a bit of a break with your toddler, even just for a few hours?
On a lighter note, think the name (Posh's dd I mean) is a bit odd too. Sounds like either a/ some sort of space ship or b/ 'Half past seven' . Not one I would choose and I like 'unusual' too.

Shandy my cycles post-mc were extremely odd - 2/3 weeks max, but settled down pretty soon (after about 2 odd cycles iirc?)

AngelGeorgie, I had no mcs in the past that I am aware of. Each of the times I ttc my first 2 kids, I just got preggers and carried to term. With my 3rd and 4th, got pregnant easily but I had threatened prem labours, but then the girls came at term. With Charlie, I had a 7 month wait to fall pregnant(but that was after a vas reversal and I was 41). So having 2 mcs, one after the other has been so different for me. I know I'm old now, but I guess I just thought my fertility was pretty good and my eggs would still be alright. Reality is certainly a wake up call.

As for healing - I still feel incredibly tired and my patience is just non-existent. My LO is playing up a bit and I can't seem to keep a lid on my frustration. Then I just want to cry when I think of my first due date coming up in 3 weeks. I should be heavily pregnant. Then I thought, at least if I'm pregnant again on that first due date I'll cope, but that's not to be. Oh well, I guess it's just one day at a time...

I have to dash - DH not happy I'm on the computer again when dinner is burning on the stove....

Hi Gum can I be nosey and ask have you had any MC's in the past? I had 2 pre~ Georgie and through my experience it seemed you were viewed more as normal if you had a couple of MCs rather than it., unfortunately, being abnormal.I felt
, again only through my experiences, pre~ Georgie that a woman who hasn t experienced any MCs ( and I know of a few) are very lucky indeed. Just nosing!!!! Hope you re healing??? Love to u xc

BB - so sorry to hear your news. Hopefully, if you are miscarrying, you won't be back at the hospital.

I know what you mean Hippy. It is a worry. But I just want my happy ending, as we all do.

Having a second miscarriage has seriously dented my confidence. But it has also made me realise that it is incredibly common, and many women have many more miscarriages. it's an eye-opener, but is so sad too.

In one of my google searches I came across a blogg where a woman had 6 miscarriages in a row after one healthy baby. In her 7th pregnancy she took a herbal tincture called "welcome womb" and had a healthy babe. Just coincidence? I put up a thread on an American site and another woman said she had two mc's then took the herbs and had two healthy babies. So who knows? I'm going to try them.If I ever get pregnant again...

Big congratulations TTT you little star. Welcome fidget. I hope you're ok. I remember that feeling of excitement and elation well of those first few hours with a new baby to get to know. Oh joy of joys.

Bb equal commiserations for you my love. Although perhaps there is some hope?

hippy you have a lot on your plate at the moment. But most people wonder how they would cope with a new baby let alone a disability, but you do and you love them just as much and there is help out there despite the doom and gloom of the headlines.

I just can't believe my body though, how on earth I'm meant to get pg with a cycle of 13 days I do not know. I hope it all settles soon as time ticks on.

Oh BB I'm sorry that you think this might be it As others have said, it isn;t over yet, esp as 2-3 weeks still showing?, but of course I know I would be thinking the same. Would a scan be useful as this point, or would it make things worse? (ie. if inconclusive etc). Thinking of you x
Hippy I think it is natural to reflect on the downs as well as the obvious joys of a baby when you are older. Remember though that even a 48 year old has a LOT more chances of having a baby without a disability than with, and of course many disabilities aren;t linked to age (for eg. cp) Your friend's little girls sounds very sweet; how premature was she?
Sorry for not mentioinig everyone - you know I'm not deliberately ignoring you! I have been reading but struggling to post with the marking - only 106 scripts left now!!! I'm not sure who it was who asked, but in terms of getting them done I sneak them into work (against the rules!!), mark on train (ditto), but generally get up earlier and stay up later. Think this might be my last stint though as too tiring!

I missed your bit about giving up on it all hippy. i don't know actually. It's such a trial even being pg in the first place - you just can't relax for a minute and always think something will go wrong.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but will get through the next few days first.

I went to see a gym near me yesterday, so think I will join that and try to get a bit more toned. And also (looking on the bright side), dh isn't going on holiday with us all in August, and i was really dreading having ms/tiredness etc and having to do all of that on my own. so at least I'll enjoy my holiday now.

well I am 7 weeks tomorrow, so really a digital test would show 3+ weeks by now. I am not going to take any progesterone this evening, just waiting for it all to kick off. (should it just be like a heavy period do you think?). last time was scary and I ended up in hospital needing a blood transfusion, so hoping I won't get like that this time - am on my own with all the children.

TTT any name that you're willing to share with us?

As for me, i woke up on Friday convinced I wasn't pregnant any more. Then I realised my boobs were shrunken, weighed myself and I was 5lb lighter. Then I did a test and I was still 2-3 weeks. And today have started bleeding. So it's all over I think. I feel alright (although I was a bit tearful in Ikea earlier on, but then that could just be Ikea!). a bit sad. but ok.

Shandy after my mc I found that my cycles were a little erratic which is apparently normal, so I've read.

gum you may well be ovulating things go a bit awry after a mc that's why they like you to wait a month until ttc to be more sure of dates if you were to conceive. But no real need to wait was the advice they gave me.

Having said that I dont know what'd happening with me. I had my mmc medical treatment on 29 May. Had a scan on cd15 which showed me almost ovulating although I had a little remaining debris from the mc which did not need further intervention. Had my Af on cd28 fairly normal so far. But now on cd13 I've started Af again, what's that about?

I haven't been temping and have done a few opk's but didn't get any +ves.

Thanks Hairy, I have actually read a book called "Spirit Babies", which says much the same thing. However I find it hard to reconcile it. I mean - I feel so ready. But then again, my DH hasn't been very ready.

But then I think - what about all the parents who really don't want a baby and accidentally fall pregnant? How does that fit? I suppose the answer is that although the parents don't feel ready, karmically they are? Or there's a lesson for them? I don't know.The book I have has some meditations and chants to do. Which I tried last time, but it didn't help much. Cos Here I am again!

I just have to trust, that maybe it will work out next time.

Hippy - I am very pleased to hear about the school and your rental. How Fabulous. Are you feeling a bit more relaxed about it now? I guess you now have to pack up. That, to me, is just the worst part of moving. I don't mind the unpacking. I hate the packing though. I loved it when the education department (our employer) moved us to our new posting - they do all the packing and moving for you. So easy. But they did pack everything that wasn't tied down. Even the bin I hadn't yet emptied! Eww!

I've started taking my temperature again - and both mornings they have been quite high - more like post ovulation temperatures. I'm sure I haven't ovulated yet - It's only been a week since the D&C, and even if the baby died 5 days before, it's still too early to ovulate. But then, why these high temps? Have any of you temped shortly after a miscarriage and found this? I guess I'll have to dig up the Toni Weschler book...

Hi Italian feel you may be right about Helen though shame as I think shes brill. You have such a lovely way with words and sound so positive I do hope you get your treatment very soon. I m fine ta.. At the Lake District at the moment with my family in a gorgeous cottage.

gum it goes a bit like this (two seperate theories)

When a baby thinks it's matched to the parents it's soul enters the mothers body and hangs around. It circles the spine three times and if it is satisfied it's karmically matched, then it stays. If not it leaves. Sometimes it's matched but it's bot the right time, so sometimes it re-enters and re-exits more than once until the mother is ready.

I feel reasonable content at the moment, very blessed to have my lovely DD and grateful for that. Still hoping to give her a sib but time will tell. Saw a friend/acquaintance today who has fostered two adorable girls and finally thought well if this fertility lark doesn?t work out I will go for fostering or adoption, suddenly feel a lot calmer. A lot less like it is or all or nothing with the treatment and a lot more able to take what comes. No idea where this is coming from, maybe because the sun is shining!
