emmaandthestar · 19/06/2011 17:36

it's really quiet here!!
Luckily salivia is no good for sperm so DH doesn't expect too much of that at moment fathers day or not!! :o

Fajitas for dinner tonight - we have so much left over roast chicken... anyone want one? Grab a wrap and help yourself to sour cream, home made guacamole and chillis!

Worm I agree, I would go for all the tests and further tests if they were in-conclusive but I have friends who were really against it so it's a very personal choice...

Wellie agree - the balloon is a lovely idea, I think we may do the same.

Wormshuffler · 19/06/2011 16:34

Ah it's quiet around here today! in fact the whole of mumsnet is like a ghost town! all those Mummies looking after the daddy's for fathers day.
I won't be able to give DH his usual fathers day treat Shock [boak] Wink I can't even brush my teeth.....

I have that pulled a muscle type feeling loads sparkly it's apparently to do with the stretching and muscles weakened by hormones.

Thanks for the hugs wellie it wasn't too bad to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that all the flowers have finished on the rose bush I planted to remember by, I had planned to bring some in the house on the day, never mind......

I'm definately having all the anti-natal tests, was just agonising over the "what if there is a high risk" decision, I think I would first pay for a private more detailed scan, and then if that proved in-conclusive I would have the amnio/cvs, I know this is an emotive subject though for some.

Chinese for tea.............hope I can stomach it!

Sparklywine · 19/06/2011 09:45

Aw, the helium balloon is a lovely idea Wellie. Thanks for the sloppy kisses Grin
Popped on to research another symptom to add to the list! Lat night turning over in bed I got a searingly sharp pain through my.....no good at biology, higher than pelvis, lower than stomach. The womby area Grin I went 'ow' out loud and turned to dh for comfort, forgetting that he was up late watching some weird porn arty film and tucking into the wine cellar stash (note, we don't actually have a wine cellar, unlike Worm) I don't think it's the start of spd, that's the only thing that's happened thus far and I have no issues opening my legs Grin. It seemed quite muscular, or at least denoted a lack of muscles! Painful.
Any ideas anyone?
I'll pop the kettle on, granary toast and bonne maman strawberry conserve anyone?

yellowtomato · 18/06/2011 18:03

ahhhh wellie right back atcha! You may wear the lush crown Grin

Sounds like a lovely plan for Monday, will be thinking of you then.

wellieboots · 18/06/2011 14:35

Just popping on before bed to send dd hugs to ((((worm)))) - hope you get through it ok, thinking of you

we're going to let off a helium balloon on Monday and I'm going to tie a wee note to Harry (that was bump's name, for some reason!) to the balloon and let it go - feel like we need to mark it in some way

thanks ladies - DH and I have been out to dinner and made our way through a bottle of wine (think I had most of it Grin) and I am feeling all lovey dovey - huge hugs and sloppy kisses to the lot of you, you are amazing and I don't know what I would do without you

wombatinwaiting · 18/06/2011 10:26

Busy, busy on here! Good to see you back kool and do please hang around as often as you want - I don't really think you count as a peeping tom lurker.

Yay for the fertility monitor mrsb - will be interesting to hear how you get on and let us know what the doc says too - I find it helpful to go in with a list of questions as docs always send me into a bit of a flap and I forget half the things I wanted to talk about....

Big hugs to wellie - sounds like it's a bit tough with friends and rellies updiffed around you. I think it was mrsb did a lovely gesture of releasing a balloon on her DD. House hunting sounds fun - what's the property market like in Sydney?

Hugs too for worm on your DD and pleased to hear that the sickness is still with you and yay for 5th July scan date. Everyone feels differently about the ante-natal tests and it's very much a personal choice - we definitely wanted to know and were amazed by the accuracy of the risk factor that you get when you have the nuchal combined with the blood tests. What does DH think? ooh - we don't have any twins on this thread so could be exciting....!

Thanks (I think!) for the warning on the boobage emma - not looking forward to that one much..... good luck with the SWI and it will be interesting to hear your ovulation results.

He he sparkly on the babelicious comment -I think I need to post a profile pic to dispel that rumour! Am with you on the monoboob look with the sports bras - when I was rooting through the lingerie yesterday I came across some old ones from when I was bigger and delighted to know that they fit a lot more comfortably.

Another big fan of freya bras here star so good to know I can keep wearing those ones. Can't get them here unfortunately so I tend to stock up at bravissimo and house of fraser when I'm back in the UK and end up spending about as much on them and knickers as the flight ticket! Blush. Good luck with the scan if you do get it. How much longer are you away for?

Gosh yellow - I feel for you in that meeting..... (love sparkly's image of you proffering biscuits to the big MI6 cheeses!) - can you have stuff in your handbag to scoff during loo breaks.... glad you had a nice family meal and that you're still feeling a bit sick.

Not much to report from this side other than shopping for some new bits and bobs for the new place. Do you know how hard it is to get a dressing table where you can put your legs underneath? Don't know if it's a Dubai thing or not..... our current place has a built in one but all the new dressing tables are just drawers with a mirror on top.... how is a girl supposed to get comfy to do her hair and make up....? I prob spend 10 mins max on both each morning but I do like to be comfortable doing it. Anyone else had this issue?! Lordy - listen to me whingeing on about this when there's so much else going on in the world Blush.....

Sparklywine · 18/06/2011 10:20

Aw, hey Worm, look after yourself today, and thanks for breakfast! You could always plant something nice for bubs, a rose for your patio containers, or something nice down in that forgotten bottom acre Grin If size was anything to go by I'd be having triplets; did quite fancy twins but there is definitely only one in there.
My nuchal and blood tests came back 'low risk', no more detail than that. I decided to have it done as no risk to Monts, and wanted to be armed if it was high risk, so we could prepare differently just incase. I am hoping that the suspected difference of bubs manifests itself in adorabe eccentricty and unruly hair but one never knows.
Hope you're having a lovely time Yellow, I'm envious of your lovely mini-break.
Kool, you're a sweetheart. A bfp is getting overdue ladies.....Grin
Hi to everyone else and good luck with the ewcm and swi'ing. I'm off out into the garden for some light pruning duties but am already tempted to create a den!
Hope Monday is ok for you Wellie, we'll be here x

yellowtomato · 18/06/2011 09:16

Bonjour ladies

worm the anti natal testing makes me panic too as I can automatically have combined nuchal and blood test cos of my age, trying not to think about it as not got anywhere near that far before.

mrsb33 hope you get to see s sympathetic dr and Emma good luck on the swi.

kool please do hang around everyone here is good at hand holding Smile

Family meal went well although tum did swell to uncomfortable proportions!

Off home tomorrow am!

Wormshuffler · 18/06/2011 08:14

Hi Ladies Continental this morning, salami's etc, dig in!
wellie Sorry about DD looming, treat yourself to something nice and not baby related! A wine fuelled SWI too!
koolforkats what a lovely thing to do passing on your moniter, have an extra croissant!
Fingers crossed about the scan star and I am avidely awaiting holiday stories!
So today is my DD, and I feel ok to be honest, much easier though with Me being PG to be honest, last night my tummy was HUGE!! and I started to get into a bit of a flap about twins! Mentioned it to DH who went ashen! It's gone down a bit this morning though, back to looking fat rather than PG, did anyone see Claudia Winkleman on telly last night? She looked enormous!! Feeling quite sick this morning, and had to waste 2 pregnecare as I couldn't get them down and had forgotten it yesterday, eventually got a folic acid down. I have been doing alot of reading about the anti-natal testing, I never even gave it a thought with My DCs but am now in quite a flap.

wellieboots · 18/06/2011 07:53

Happy weekend Ladies!!

Hope everyone has a great one, we went cheekily looking at houses today - not going to buy any, not for a while anyway.....but it's nice to look! I kept imagining an "us" in the future with our kids in a house ......wistful look........

DD is Monday Sad but I think I'll be OK, we've got so much going on in terms of applying for jobs and stuff I don't think I've thought about it as much as I thought I would - was a bit hard talking to the family on skype this morning and DSIL is starting to show a bit and it's odd that it's her and not me - if you know what I mean, not in a bad way.....and one of my bridesmaids is due on 1 July which will also be a bit hard as she knows about the mc - she is in NZ so didn't have a 12 wk scan Confused? and so told us when she was about 9 wks so we figured we'd better tell her! Told her the day before our scan Sad

SWI with a vengeance this weekend if we can keep it up - spotted some EWCM yesterday Grin - wish me luck!

Damn, just lost a big catch up!

Hope things went ok with boss harassed
yellow well done at your subterfuge with the rellies - but then I guess that's your specialist subject working at MI6 and all! Wink
welcome back star and good luck with the CBFM mrsb - you're fine to use it as long as you set it CD5 at the latest
Yay for scan date worm - that has gone quickly!

Waves to everyone else!

Star82 · 18/06/2011 05:22

*pregnancy!!!

Star82 · 18/06/2011 05:21

Yes, I'll call in the morning to see if I can get in for a scan and will report back if I do get seen.

sparkly, I'm a 34dd/e usually and when my milk came in I had a 36 g at one point. During the pregnant I went up a couple of cupsizes. I'm a 10-12 and pretty broadshouldered as well due to a lot of competitive swimming when I was younger so I look a sight once they start swelling. I'm a real introverted triangle as my hips are quite narrow too. Got to say though, wombat, I've never worn maternity bras, just continued to wear my trusty Freya bras. I had s nursing bra but never felt properly supported and it didn't give a nice shape so I went back to wearing my normal bras even though I was feeding.

koolforcats · 17/06/2011 22:59

Hi-di-hiGrin

Just a quickie to say mrsb, you're so welcome! I can't quite remember but am pretty sure that you can start this cycle....I think you press and hold the 'm' button and wait until it goes to 3 (ie your cycle day). Best check the instructions tho Smile and GOOD LUCK!

Thanks all for the lovely welcome back...I was just planning to pop my head round the door but might hang around if that's ok . I know I'm doing down the Petrie dish/champagne and canapés/Barry White route but I guess I'm still very much ttc and if it works I'll inevitably be feeling wobbly and may need some hand holding Blush.

mrsb33 · 17/06/2011 19:35

Hi ladies, just running in to say be big thanks to koolforkats!!! Received your very early bday gift[ha ha] today, thank you so much! I'm so excited about starting to use it! Offically on day 3 of my cycle so not sure if I can or not! Tell you what though ladies, my cycle is now back to its 28 days but gods its heavy! I recon there's something deeper going on, so going to see if I can see the doctor next week.
Waves to all xx

emmaandthestar · 17/06/2011 19:18

Ha ha, nothing prepares you for boobs after birth - you literally wake up one morning looking like Jordan - they stick out, are rock hard and MASSIVE!! DH wanted a photo for comedy purposes - I was not amused Grin

I now have to commence SWI and have blood tests at the end of the month to check that I ovulated.

Worm Emergency sausage roll?!?! fantastic - and glad you ahve your scan date now...

yellowtomato · 17/06/2011 16:42

I'll be back Sunday lunchtime wombat my boobs haven't really got any bigger although they are sore. Meeting is at an external venue where they do the catering and although I'm leading it will be v formal with lots of peeps more senior than me. I just don't want to vom on anyone!

Hurrah for the scan date worm not long to go now. We're having a big family meal in a restaurant tonight so have been trying to nap to prepare. My belly is so bloaty I'm surprised they haven't commented and wonder if I'll fit into any work clothes next week! I'm still a bit blocked and bought some prunes but I just can't stomach them Envy (sick face)

Sparklywine · 17/06/2011 16:26

Grin at Yellow handing round a tin of Fox's classis selection biscuits to the amassed collection of spies and senior government officials. 'Pink wafer, James?'
My sports bra gave me a mono-boob, I'm going to buy a cheap and cheerful granny one from M&S I think. Told DH about imminent breast-growth and he got very excited, kept making 'grasping two melons' motions like Benny Hill.
The thought occured earlier, when I read Wombat's post, that I have no lovely lingerie, I'm such a sloth.

Wormshuffler · 17/06/2011 14:08

Got my scan date......july 5th Grin i should be 12+4 then.

If you are taking the meeting yellow then I suggest you take a cake/biscuit tin in with loads, pretending they are for everyone!
I darn't get My boobs measured, I have been in my sports bra for 2 weeks now, no wire and so cumfy. I refuse to buy anything new until after the scan!
The boobs when milk comes in really is a sight to behold!!

Sparklywine · 17/06/2011 12:59

Size 10 and 32E? Envy You'll topple over Wombat, at least my extra weightage acts as ballast! Grin You're babelicious!
I think I'm going to have to buy cheap boulder-holders in upscaled sizes until the baby is here, then get measured for a decent nursing bra.

Massive you say, Harassed? I'll be one giant wall of boob!
Good luck with the boss!

wombatinwaiting · 17/06/2011 10:35

Glad to hear all going well with the rellies and sickness yellow - when are you back?

Keep us posted on your meeting with the boss harassed and I think you should start chasing the postman worm - don't know how you've kept your patience this long!

Am also starting to get concerned about this boobage issue sparkly..... I am also fairly well endowed at 32E and have gone up to 34F already and had awful flashback to visiting good friend in hospital post birth and catching sight of her boobs and not being able to stop staring - they were H U G E!! Really don't think there's much that can be done - I am definitely not going to stop wearing underwire - they say so long as it fits properly then it's not an issue. I have also read Anita bras are good.

Yes worm the year's rent in advance is a PITA however most places these days will take 2-4 post-dated cheques, however we couldn't this time as we negotiated a discount based on paying in 1 cheque. It's not too bad as companies here will tend to pay your housing allowance monthly or sometimes up front (as in the case of DH each Nov so we have had to do a bit of re-shuffling of offshore finances). We are having a ruthless clear out today which has been very cleansing so far although got a bit sad when I put all my lovely lingerie into a separate bag for when I shrink back to my pre-pg size 10 weeks after giving birth......

yellowtomato · 17/06/2011 09:47

harassed hope all goes well with boss today, deep breaths. I know my company won't be impressed as I've been there such a short time.

worm hope you get appt soon

yellowtomato · 17/06/2011 09:44

Wanted to post in stages to avoid big post loss!

Wow harassed hearing the heartbeat must be amazing.

Glad all looks good Emma is there a next stage or is that it?

Love the sausage roll eating worm perhaps not the most subtle snack. I have all day meeting on tues that I am presenting most of so was wondering what/how to snack but will cross sausage rolls off the list.

My boobs are not bigger, only sore

What an amazing story from that Jan lady, my 8 week scan us next fri and it is hard for me to imagine a positive result.

Waves to all

yellowtomato · 17/06/2011 09:37

Thanks fir reassurance ladies, I did have a croissant for brekkie.

The in laws have totally accepted the non specific stress related stomach problems that mean I need to drink less and have not noticed dp drinking all my wine!

Have been feeling sick in and off but not so much today, I go from imagining doing things with my baby to visualising another erpc. My stomach is HUGE inthe evenings!

harassedinherpants · 17/06/2011 09:34

sparkly sorry, but they're going to get bigger and then positively massive when the milk comes in after birth! I bought some nice ones from La Redoute when prg with dd, but haven't looked so far.

Eurgh @ sausage rolls worm! Now a nice Ginsters peppered steak slice.... yummy. Good that the sickness is getting worse iykwim Grin.

I've booked up for preg yoga classes! It's NCT which I hate with a passion generally, so hope it'll be ok....... First term is for 6 weeks and starts on Wednesday.

I'm going to tell my boss today if he ever gets in and I'm bricking it. I wouldn't call him unreasonable, but then I wouldn't call him reasonable either......He's very bloody minded and will most def cut his nose off to spite his face if it means not giving in. I feel very sick, and nervous. Most unlike me actually!! I said to dh this morning that I'll prob be unemployed by 3pm Grin.

Sparklywine · 17/06/2011 08:59

Grin at emergency sausage roll Grin Who'd have thought Worm carries around the best of Greggs in her Mulberry....
I was reading a big old booklet the hospital gave me at my 12 week scan, the picture of a pregnant woman at 14 weeks shows a svelte, gently curved tummy of a person, with perkly boobs. What?! I think I need to shop for a larger comfier bra but at 36FF can't go without underwire, they'd be dragging the floor! I've read that Anita nursing bras are good as the wire is softer, but at £30 I'd want the right size - mothers-already, how much bigger can I expect to get?! Should I just go up to 38H or something and expect to fill it? I'm getting little blue veins under the wire so am guessing damage is beginning. Eek, read on another thread, and this is backed up by the NHS book-thingy, that you can get varicose veins internally down below! WTF? Give me those and a nose bleed and I've run the full gamut of symptoms already! Grin
Star, the book said profuse and varying amounts of discharge is perfectly normal, unless there's some blood in it you're fine apparently. Worry not, it's all part of being a woman!

Pain au chocolate appreciated thanks Wombat, feeling much better since having brekkie before heading out, but does mean I am ready for brekkie #2 by now!
