Afternoon all!

Still feeling v sick here.........when will it ever end? yesterday I ate 2 packets of hula hoops and some pasta and tomato sauce and today i've had bread and butter! Nice and healthy........

wellie new jobs are like that, all consuming. Will probably help you get that bfp though......how did the SWI go?

star that's happened to me a few times when I've spent ages typing something out of my phone.......so annoying! So our scans are one day apart.....how are you feeling? I've feeling v nervous.......I just really want to move to the next stage when I can believe that this is really going to happen and start planning. I just really hope that I don't need more tests that will just drag this on further.....I've going on a long haul flight at the end of August and my Dad had a stroke 2 years ago..........do you think that increases my risk too? Did you wear those funny socks on the flight? I'm going to get some. I've still got a big bruise from Thurs so hope they'll be able to get blood on Tues.

purple hope you get your appt soon, seems to be a bit of a lottery whether you can get an early scan or not.......i don't think that they can see much before 6 weeks so hopefully something will come through this week. Although this time i was scanned at 8 and 10 weeks the sonographers did seem a bit bemused as to why I was bothering......I didn't care what they think as long as I get my scan!

Shame about the meet up wombat and worm maybe we can do something in the future.

How is the trip going wombat? Enjoying the rain? I meant to ask you, how long are you meant to take the aspirin for? I think the folic acid is just 3 months but am not sure about aspirin? What does your dr say as that is the advice I'm following! :)

Right, must go and cook dinner. I seem to have regressed food wise, i just want pasta and tom sauce, mashed potato or just plain bread. Not much fruit and veg going on. Well I do have a vitamin supplement and a glass of juice, that'll have to do!

mrsb33 how you doing? Hope things are good with you.......we miss you!

wellieboots · 16/07/2011 01:16

Hi ladies,
Sorry new job has kept me occupied this week and I've had the flu at the same time Sad

Glad to hear everyone's news - upcoming 12 week scans, how quickly does the time go?!

Determined to get some SWI in this weekend - wish me luck!!

Have lovely weekends everyone!!

Star82 · 15/07/2011 22:27

I wrote a huge post yesterday and then lost it when mumsnet were trying to fix something that went wrong :(. Totally spat my dummy out and sulked off, so didn't re write it....so annoying.

Yellow, i have mine on Wednesday. Should be 11+5. Got to see consultant as well as i had 2 markers against me at my booking in last week. Ridiculous really. Just that i'd been on a long haul flight recently and that my dad had a blood clot following a hip replacement. I think they'll probably wait til i'm 12 weeks clear of the flight and then hand me over to the midwife fully. If not then, before.

I told him Wombat!! it's planted a seed now though so i'll be worrying over that now. It's our third, you'd think he'd know his stuff by now. He was only back an hour and then we were bickering over this Grin.

So, had him back wed evening, he was at work thurs and then had a meeting that night and left first thing this morning to travel up to Scotland with work again so feels like i've hardly seen him even though he's been back!! Should be back here around midnight tomorrow though hopefully and will be off Sunday at least :).

Purplebuns · 15/07/2011 22:21

Hi, still hanging in here, 6 weeks tomorrow! It has gone really quickly however I am still not sick :( I have cravings and tiredness/low energy levels, not enough symptoms to make me relax.
I am waiting for my early scan date to come through and starting to worry I won't be able to have one. The GP filled the card out while I was there so I don't see why I would be turned down? I have had my 12 week scan and booking in appointments through, but it is a different hospital. Confused
Anyone not have very strong symptoms and had a healthy pregnancy? I didn't have many with my 10 week mc so I am super paranoid, especially as I was really sick with DD by this point.
Sorry for whining, I hope I can just enjoy soon!

Nice to see that everyone else ok :)

Wormshuffler · 15/07/2011 20:12

Hi girls wombat I came on to say I can't make it either, sorry yellow but DH does have to work after all, meaning I would have to leave at 2pm to make it back for DS coming out of school, it wouldn't really be worth while the cost of the train ticket Sad Hopefully we can meet up at another time when more of us can make it.

Glad you are having a nice time wombat what would a holiday in the UK be without some rain Grin

wombatinwaiting · 15/07/2011 19:09

Hi everyone - lovely to catch up on all the news. Have been having a lovely time back in Blighty and weather has been truly lovely so far but a bit downhill tomorrow I understand.

I am so, so sorry to say I can't make next Friday's meet-up. I am seeing an old school friend who is a midwife and the only day she can do due to work and studies (she's now doing an MSc in Midwifery - need a super-impressed emoticon) is Friday. Will be lovely to see her but am v Sad that I won't be seeing you guys. Let me know if you have any questions for her!

Glad to hear that the booking in went ok yelllow despite the bruises and wow to 11+2! When is your next scan and nuchal tests etc.

Loving the sneaky scanning star! You might want to let your DH know that they are only in proportion at 20 weeks and even then the scans make their heads look large!

Ooh worm - a doppler! I am really going to try and resist. Getting fairly consistent movements now and so mentalling a little less (well, about 0.1% less Grin )

Welcome cuttlefish - hope you're doing ok. And how about you marathon - any more sickness?

Any more thoughts on names sparkly? Our current faves are Leo or Lucy, although DH thinks that as we're going double barrelled and given my L surname (to those that know it) that she could end up sounding like a pornstar - what do others think?!

Well done on the yoga harassed and I am jealous of your size - everyone I've seen says my bump is pathetic and I'm inclined to agree with them!

Waves to wellie, purple, mrsb and anyone else I may have missed - sorry if I have!

xx

P.S. Sorry again for missing out on meet-up

Wormshuffler · 15/07/2011 10:33

I'm still here bit of baby brain kicking in there yellow glad you didn't need to get butchered for the bloods. Sorry about the sickness, hopefully not long now til you start to feel better.

Well my dopplers come, I can't find the heartbeat, but can hear it moving around in there so I'm not mentalling (too much)

yellowtomato · 15/07/2011 08:38

What am I talking about? 11 weeks today or 11+2 according to the scan!

yellowtomato · 15/07/2011 07:51

Where is everyone?

harassed she wasn't too bad and got blood first time but I do have a big bruise. And 17 weeks, wow! I am 12 weeks today. Seems at this stage that I am very far behind you, you are fast approaching your 20 week scan.

I felt really sick all day yesterday and feel awful now, I think it is getting worse rather than better. Envy (sick face)

mrsb33 did you have your tests? When do you get results?

Emma are you on the 2ww? Where is wombat with the spreadsheet?

How are the newly duffed feeling?

sparkly love your ambition, this one will be an only child.

star when is your 12 week scan, mine is Tuesday.

Right really should get up!

harassedandherbug · 14/07/2011 09:27

Morning!

Yellow good luck with booking in and bloods. I have tiny veins and they have to use a baby syringe. If they don't listen to me it's agony! Mw did and it was fine, but the time before that they didn't and it was a right palavar. My veins collapsed, they had to do both arms and I ended up with huge bruises and looked like a druggie Grin.

sparkly twins?!! Nutter....... I bet you change your mind Wink. I like your reasoning though, it makes sense.

worm yup, do guess who the scan belongs too or just do what I've done and only tell one or two people. I've had some odd looks but I think the gossip has got round and no stupid questions so far.

star I nearly choked when you said about looking fat! There's not an ounce of you woman!

I sound like I have a really heavy cold, but it's hayfever and general snottiness. Horrible. Ooohh and I'm 17 weeks today!!!!!! Went to preg yoga last night and we go round each time and say our name, how many weeks, which child and how we are. But I'm huuuuuge compared to most of them . But most of them are first timers with the odd second timer.......no other fourth timers.

yellowtomato · 14/07/2011 07:37

Morning all

I think a bit of alcohol now and then is fine but I feel too sick most of the time so that solves that for me.

Re telling people we are going to wait until the all clear too ie results of nuchal or further tests if we have to go there. I'd prefer not to tell anyone until I've given birth but not sure that is practical! Grin

I have my booking in at 9. don't t really want to as it makes it more official and feel v sick. Also have deep veins so a skilful person can get blood first time but I have previously had to endure 5 different people trying for an hour, that was grim.

Good news is that as I've told my boss I have negotiated working from home today so can have a little nap at lunchtime and get the washing done! Smile

Wormshuffler · 14/07/2011 06:51

Yeah just let them think you are fat............I have seen a pic of you in a bikini and there isnt an ounce of fat on you! if you get a bump it will be a dead giveaway star Wouldn't it be great if they had scanners booths in Boots and we could just turn up and put a few pound coins in.

sparkly behave, you know I am just joshing.....

Star82 · 13/07/2011 22:09

Oh and also, i was feeling so much better after the scan until DH started commenting that the baby's head didn't look right on the pic, that it was too big! I told him at this stage the heads are practically the same size as the body and it's normal but he thinks it looks wierd [hangry]. I could have strung him. So there is my new set of worries that he's nicely thrown on me. He's also said he isn't announcing the pregnancy to anyone even after my NHS scan next week and won't do it til we get the all clear on test results. I've told him it can take weeks to get the results back so i could be about 15 weeks plus by then so won't be able to hide it. Think that spanish water must have gone to his head cos he's gone nuts now, hehe. I can tell whoever but he isn't he says. Gonna be interesting as i'm friends with some of the wives of who he works with. Maybe i'll just let them think i'm fat [hgrin]

Star82 · 13/07/2011 22:02

I was a little naughty the other day though Sparkly and made up a shandy with a bottle of corona that was sat there. Felt that guilty afterwards that, even though i'd used less than half a bottle to make it up, i chucked the rest in the bin!!

I caved Worm, and sent DH a pic of scan that i knew he'd get after landing. First text came back was "Just landed, see you soon, xx", immediately after it beeped again with "Have you had another scan??!!!!!" hehehe.

Sparklywine · 13/07/2011 16:33

I am gentle! It is my middle name! Sparkly Gentle Wine. Hmpf.

Wormshuffler · 13/07/2011 16:27

Nice and gentle there sparkly Grin
I am sooooo worried about something going wrong, since I initially made a big song and dance by announcing to all and sundry and posting the scan picture on facebook I havn't told hardly anyone. I have seen 20 different clients at work in the last week and not told any of them, next time I see them I will be 20 weeks Shock I feel very decietful but will have the test results and 20 week scan so should be feeling a bit less like it will all go wrong.
Got a team meeting tomorrow [yawn] my boss asked how I should announce it, so I said just put the scan picture up on the projector and play guess who this belongs to!

Glad it is all ok star I wouldnt tell my DH either, it's much easier that way! they don't understand how hard it is for us! I ordered a doppler and didn't tell DH but he spied me typing my credit card details in so I ha to confess!

Looking forward to meeting up yellow and wombat if we can pull it off, I'm
not booking the train until I know all is ok for you guys and that DH is definately off. Yes I will come into Kings cross.

Waves to everyone x

Sparklywine · 13/07/2011 16:09

Excellent news Star, now stop arsing about worrying, and just relax! Grin I'm still concerned that something may go wrong, especially now everyone knows, but you know what, why should it go wrong?! We're nice people, doing the right things, and although bad things happen to nice people doing the right things (this is why we are here) fate decrees that we eventually get what we deserve. So I am aiming for twins after this one Grin
I know what you mean about those 'relaxing' alcoholic drinks, am missing that twatted fuzzy feeling a bit now Grin

Star82 · 13/07/2011 13:59

sonographer!!! iPhone changed it.....not my fault. Just did it now again when I wrote the correction. The m is nowhere nr the s so def not me hitting wrong buttons...honest!!

Star82 · 13/07/2011 13:57

Phew! All well, thank god! 10+5 so dates stayed the same. Could see the limbs wiggling about on this one which was funny.
Amusing thing the monographer said as I went getting up was "the best thing you can do is relax and enjoy and please, keep away from the Internet and these online forum and antenatal groups"!!!! Hehehe!!!

sparkly, thanks and do you know what? I put away a full 200g bar of dairy milk last night plus some jammie dodgers :). Chocolate is always very much appreciated here!!!

DH back about 3.30-4 today.....hooray!!!!!!! If I weren't pregnant, I'd hand over the kids and rush out to have a few relaxing alcoholic beverages :)

Sparklywine · 13/07/2011 13:36

Star, hope it has gone ok? Let us know, sending positive vibes and plenty of chocolate your way x

Star82 · 13/07/2011 11:59

Sat here waiting for yet another scan!!!! Totally freaking out now. Not told DH I've booked this.....think he'll kill me or at least have me sectioned!
Had some tummy painsduring the week, some sharp, some crampy but also not been well this week so not sure whether it's to do with that or if I should be worried. Hence, this extra scan I'm having. I'm so anxious all the time, I'm driving myself bonkers never mind anyone else :). Should have been in at 11.40 but running behind giving me more time to mental!!!!!

yellowtomato · 12/07/2011 21:57

Hello ladies

Hurrah for a bit of sickness marathon

Welcome cuttlefish and congratulations!

I'm glad you clarified worm was just imagining wombat, you, me and your DH! Tee hee.........I think you said your train comes into Kings Cross and I work near there so that might be a good place to have lunch. I will send you a pm with a suggestion as although all you ladies on here are welcome to join we don't want any mad stalkers turning up! I haven't asked for the time off work yet but I'm sure it'll be fine.

I told my boss about the pg today and he was really very nice about it. I was v stressed and emotional about it but feel very relieved that it is over. It felt so weird to say it all out loud and made it seem more real. But it also made me feel more nervous that it could still all go wrong.

harassed hurrah for movement and £5 Maxi dresses! I am still feeling very sick all day long, I really hope it starts to get a bit better soon. I can't believe you went 5 weeks without a dishwasher, I'd struggle with 5 minutes!

worm you made me laugh with your wind story......!

hurrah for being in the same country wombat do you have any views about the meet up location........are you still going to be able to make it?

Right am knackered and sick am going to bed!

MarathonMama · 12/07/2011 14:03

Oooh glad you've not deserted me ladies. No action for nearly 24 hours, I'd started to see some tumbleweed and wondered if you'd all gone off somewhere without telling me (like that cruel trick people did at school, or was that just me?)

Worm yes I'm officially late now, I was due on Sat. Felt a tiny tinsy wincy bit queasy this morning so hoping that's a symptom.

Wombat glad the move went well.

Purple thanks for the top tips.

Cuttlefish many CONGRATS! Good to hear that someone else is going through mentalling hell. Good luck!

waves hello to everyone else - yellow, sparkly, Mrsb, Harassed and anyone I've missed.

harassedandherbug · 12/07/2011 09:30

Morning!

Sorry I've not been on for a few days........ busy weekend, and then busy work yesterday, but two bfp's!!! Huge congrats marathon, and to you too Cuttlefish. I'm 16+5 straight after a mc with no af too. Scary but possible!!! Tell dh soon, you'll need all the support you can get.

Not sure who was asking about supplements, but I take vitamin b6 p5p, double folic acid and aspirin. All prescribed by my kinesiologist but the doc knows I taking it. I'm taking the aspirin because Wombat's ob/gyn said to her it wouldn't do any harm, and it hasn't! This was our last go, so it's an all or nothing thing.

wombat the weather isn't great, but has it's moments. You need everything!! Mainly a sundress and waterproof though Wink.

sparkly lovely names, and they seem very "you". Dh has come up with some shockers....... Archie being the latest offering. Sounds like a dog.

yellow how's the sickness?

No news here really. Did a bit of shopping on Saturday. Got a couple of bits to wear for me, including a lovely maxi dress in Primark for £5! So that's next weekend's christening sorted. Also bought a moses basket , and a new dishwasher . 5 weeks without a dishwasher has been hell.

Getting quite a few movements now, and picking up a good hb on the doppler Grin. But, also had a few spd twinges.........

CuttlefishDramas · 12/07/2011 08:00

Hello All. I miscarried at 6 weeks in May. No period since then, and BFP today. I want to be happy, but I'm just freaking out to be honest. Never saw a heartbeat, so think I'll feel better if I see this one's.

Does NOT help that I have the most awful runs right now! (Which was why I tested) Asked DP to get me bananas yesterday, and he came back with green ones Angry

Haven't told DP yet. Wanted to do something dramatic, but doesn't feel appropriate this time around, like some of the magic has gone Confused
