wombatinwaiting · 27/07/2011 07:06

Hmmm.... I wonder if I leave out warm croissants with posh French butter and Bonne Maman jam if it will tempt purple and littlewhitewolf out too! Grin Great to hear from you marathon and cuttlefish - the symptom spotting / wishing is completely normal - may you have as many as you want for reassurance, but not so many that you feel compeltely dreadful Smile - fingers tightly crossed fro you both in these early days.

Hadn't got to the vinegar douching bit with Shettles and rather glad I hadn't - sounds seriosuly painful!

Good to hear from fallingapartharassed too - you poor thing. When do you start physio? Also, can you describe spd? HAving suffered with lower back issues for years, I'm half expecting it and it would be good to know what to look out for. Are you planning to do pilates or yoga at all? I do yoga once a week and try to do some pilates stuff in the morning (which also double up as pelvic floor exercises too) but don't always succeed. I'm making some enquiries about proper pg pilates tomorrow - will let you know how I get on.

Waves to all!

CuttlefishDramas · 26/07/2011 16:34

Haven't been on for ages because of work, I've missed loads! Was tempted back by Wombats lovely baked goodies!

Wombat and Hassled thank you for the reassurance. Think I will pay for an early scan to put my mind at ease.

I'm still mentalling with my "symptoms". Sore boobs, and feeling sick occasionly, but it's not enough!! I want my head in the toilet bowl!!

Congratulations LittleWhiteWolf! Good luck at the doctors on getting an early scan. I still haven't heard from the midwives yet.

Good news at your scan Sparkly! Baby boy - oh the joy! He's your little alien, and you love him, obscene todge and all. Have fun shopping!!

Fingers crossed you won't see AF this month Wellie, if you do, give her a swift kick from me.

MarathonMama · 26/07/2011 14:26

BTW, I just looked up Shettles as I hadn't heard of it before, vinegar douching... Confused

MarathonMama · 26/07/2011 14:23

Hello all! Have been trying to catch up with all your posts, it all sounds very exciting. Sparky a boy! How lovely, I'm sure he'll be Mummy's little soldier Smile

Wombat thank you for the goodies, it worked! It was the choccie brownies that got me in the end. Glad you enjoyed your trip, although the weather must put you off coming back a little bit?

Wellie fx for you! A pink double act sounds like fun and hard work at the same time. Those teenage years will be interesting...

No news here, I'm 6+4 today, haven't really had any symptoms. Felt uneasy yesterday (not sick, but like you do when you're a bit drunk, not that you'd all know...) but that seems to have gone today. Hoping all is ok and just waiting.

waves to everyone Grin

harassedandherbug · 26/07/2011 11:39

I'm here! Sorry been busy Grin.

Sparkly fab news!!! Seems to be a glut of blue scans lately, and I know that's what dh is hoping for next week. Happy shopping!!

Yellow does your friend have children? Or maybe they're ttc? Or maybe she's just not a "baby" person? My sister has no interest what so ever. No congratulations, nothing! How's the sickness now?

wellie you're still in there! Fingers x'd for you x

worm sorry about your cat, that's awful Sad. Although you can have mine Grin, shes' driving me nuts and I'm always threatening to find her a new home!

wombat pink ones are little pickles!! Although the shopping is great fun Grin.

star we tried Shettles for a couple of months, then got fed up with and decided any baby would be great Grin.

How are all our newbies getting on????

So, I'm falling to bits!!! Phone birthing centre with a couple of queries yesterday, and they said to pop up as they're just 2 mins down the road from me. So I have a referral to a physio for my spd twinges, and mw thinks my swollen fingers and pins and needles are the start of carpal tunnel. I had both with dd, but not this early!!!! Or maybe I just know what I'm looking for this time. I was also worrying about lack of movement, despite being able to pick up the hb on the doppler, so she listened and had a feel of my tummy and apparently I have loads of room left so I reckon my bug has turned right the round! And still has dopplerphobia Grin. So add in swollen ankles and legs by the end of day....... ooooh I'm sooo attractive Grin.

wombatinwaiting · 26/07/2011 10:54

I am sooooo excited for you sparkly Grin Grin - how lovely it's a wee boy! So pleased that the scan went so well too, although a bit concerned your DH thinks it's only 5mm! It has made me so tempted to find out but we're going to stick with team yellow for now even though we are convinced it's blue - my mum also said it's a boy by the way I'm carrying Hmm - my memory is not as good as star's when it comes to conception time - I think we just did it lots! STill holding out for a pink one though!

Are you going to find out yellow? Sorry your friend was a bit muted - does she have DC herself? Totally know what you mean about being shy around the parents - I'm not sure if it has something to do with the fact that it's admitting you've actually had sex (and probably more than once too Grin ) or because you've rehearsed it so many times. I was still a bit embarassed around my dad last week despite being this far on..... Did you get bloods taken at last scan? If so, they should give you the actual stats, I think.

Love the fact your DD is swinging between blue and pink worm and lovely you have one of each already. V sorry to hear about your poor cat Sad. Hope your good news letter comes really soon x

What's your average cycle length wellie? Still got my fingers crossed here for you.

Now where's harassed these days? Hope all is ok with you.

And how are all the newbies doing? Hope we haven't scared you off with us being a wee bit further along than you guys....

A good question re: how I'm feeling yellow - I always struggle the first couple of days coming back from whenever we've been away - grass is always greener and all that. It was a really special time to be back and to be with my oldest friends who really know me well - I would dearly love to be back with them at this time of massive change and it was lovely sharing stories etc. with my mum..... so it's been tough coming back this time although DH has been wonderful - he knows me well enough to know I needed a bit of TLC. The other slight issue for me is with the new villa. Being back at my bro and sis-in-law's and mum and dad's was so familiar and cosy and our new place is far from cosy - I had forgotten how much I miss carpeted floors instead of tiled floors Confused Sad - weird, I know. I'm hoping that I'll be fine in a week or so when I've got more used to living in it. The good news is I'm getting regular kicks which just make me giggle most of the time!

Waves to all x

Wormshuffler · 26/07/2011 09:16

I am team yellow here star with DD12 and DS will be 10 I think it adds to the excitement! DD wants a girl, an DS is not fussed! and nore am I to be honest. DH is desperate to know though. My doppler is a cheapy which doesnt tell me the HR, I can find HB daily now after some time, not sure if I am going to keep up the hiring of it once the movements get more noticable.

Are you finding out yellow, I know wombat didn't but feels baby will be a boy.

The red witch aint singing yet wellie hang on in there!

Well it looks like we have lost another cat to the A1, ours has been missing a few days now and there is one matching his description about a mile and a half down. Conveniently on a bridge so no chance of getting a closer look/ collecting him up. Sad that is it no more cats for us, thats 2 now lost to that road.

Star82 · 26/07/2011 08:21

Brill news sparkly, i can't wait to find out!! Geriatric worm, will you find out? You have have DS's and DD's so are you swaying to one or the other? I Have one of each so not really having a preference. DS would love a boy although there would be nearly 9 years between them and DD changes her mind all the time. In a way, another DD would be nice as she is closer in age to the baby for them to have more of a common interest but she has been soooo much harder work than DS Grin. Think DH would like another boy to play football with, haha!!!

Good luck Wellie :)

How is marathon, cuttlefish and purple and anyone else i've missed out who's in the early stages or having lots of SWI??

I caved an hired a doppler Blush. Have found heartbeat on occasion but hasn't reached any higher than about 140 bpm ish (that's is doppler is accurately callibrated). It's a babysonic one. If it is that low, it makes me think a boy which is what i think anyway. We didn't have any SWI leading up to ovulation and then did it the day of EWCM and the day after, and then 2 days after that so according to Shettles, i'd say boy. Will be interesting to find out :)

wellieboots · 25/07/2011 23:45

Yay for a blue one sparkly!
I know it ain't over but can feel af on the way, just want her to hurry up and get here so we can get on with next month.

Wonder how all the new ladies are?

Waves!!!

yellowtomato · 25/07/2011 21:04

Hurrah sparkly how exciting, a blue one.......so happy that all was good with the scan, you can now go shopping crazy!

wellie it ain't over until it's over.......fingers crossed. The month it worked for me was one when we only did it once round the right time so you never know.

wombat how does it feel to be back in the sandpit? It was nice telling my friend but her reaction was strangely muted, dunno if I went on about it too much? Difficult to know really. This is the week to tell family, DPs sister is arriving on Wed so we'll tell her Thurs, phone DPs parents on Fri and visit mine on Sunday. I've thought about telling the parents for so long, I actually feel a bit weird and shy about it now that the time is almost here. Does that make any sense at all?

Hope you get the 'good' letter soon worm it's so awful making you wait so long. The nurse told me if all was fine she'd post the letter Monday so I'm hoping to get it tomorrow as they always send letters first class for some reason, even my appt for December came first class! I wonder if I'll just get a 'fine' or if they'll give me that actual probability. I read in one book that my age alone gives 1 in 190 Shock

How are all the 'early days' ladies doing?

Wormshuffler · 25/07/2011 15:28

Ahh excellent news *sparkly Grin happy shopping !

Welcome back home wombat it can't be long until you pack up work is it? I remember you saying you were going to have quite a while off? Re the doppler, I am finding it a comfort, although I rarely fing the heartbeat, I can hear it thrashing around in there which is good on the days where I can't feel it. I can see how i could have the opposite effect thogh too.

Don't give up hope wellie it aint over yet!

Good there was no nasty phone call yellow I am now awaiting My letter too, although she did say it would be more like 2 weeks if high risk, and it is 3 weeks tomorrow, so I am feeling a little better. With the DC's I was about 1 in 38,000, think it will be a lot lower this time now I am "geriatric"!

Sparklywine · 25/07/2011 14:10

Morning ladies,
Just back from my 20 week scan and all is well! What a relief. Measuring the right length (DH tells me 5mm, clearly this is not correct), little heart thumping away, spine like a spooky prehistoric amphibian, giant eyes like an ant....not sure I am meant to find my unborn so alien-like! Grin
And...............it's a baby boy!
So excited now we know what it is, it seems very real. His little todge was obscene, no mistaking that! Now I can get shopping for cute alien gender-stereotypical outfits, yay! (though his first teddy is a black and white kitten)
Happy happy happy, love to all x

wombatinwaiting · 25/07/2011 07:01

Morning all from the sandpit! Got back at 2am yesterday, straigh to work then v annoyingly woke up at 5am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep - grrrrr..... consequently yawning my head off today! Had a fab meet-up with my old friend who is also a midwife and she gave me lots of fab tips about labour etc. There was so much more I could have asked, but I didn't want to turn it into work for her.

You will never get over your reputation mrsb - may as well make the best of it and fill our imaginations with your sexual shenanigans whether they are true or not! Grin - heaven forbid what might happen if you and worm ever met up Shock Grin

Good to hear from you wellie and yay for double pink neices! How are you feeling about that these days? I had odd EWCM for a few of my cycles so perhaps all is not lost and you know that seven's a lucky number! If you did want to go down the testing route, can that be done fairly simply over there?

How did your firend react to your news yellow? Was it lovely to be able to spill the beans at last? Re: the doppler - I was speaking to my GP about it the other day and she said that you're far more likely to notice abnormal movements before any changes to the heart rate occur and that if you are worried about abnormal movements then the best place to be is at the docs rather than at home with your own doppler worrying about it. It seemed quite sensible advice to me - enough to make me change my mind about getting one.

How are the newly pg doing? cuttlefish, marathon, purple and littlewhitewolf ? How are the smptoms/ no symptoms rollercoasters coming along?

Hello harassed - how are you doing? Does your wriggler still have dopplerphobia? Hope all is well.

Better go - think I need a power nap in the loos! waves to all xx

wellieboots · 25/07/2011 04:49

Pressed post too quick on phone! ewcm was v odd and came and went so I think we missed it this month so on to cycle 7 we go, bit sad as conceived on cycle 6 last time so I now am convinced there is something wrong with me! Completely ridiculous!

Meantime found out dsil is having a team pink double so I will be buying many pink things!!

Waves!!!

wellieboots · 25/07/2011 04:41

Hope you all had lovely weekends and that's why its gone very quiet around here!

Yay for yellow on nuchal results. Hope everyone else is ok and wombat made it home safe.

Not much news here - cd25 but not holding out much hope for this month as due to new job and flu, swi was not frequent and ewcm was a bit

yellowtomato · 23/07/2011 10:50

Morning all!

Great news, I didn't get a phone call so that means I'm low risk - and breathe! And this is the third day I don't feel sick. Actually went out straight from work last night and had a glass of champagne and didn't get home until 10pm - party on!

sparkly yup that does seem to be the going rate round here, quite shocking. Unfortunately parents live too far away to help.

Welcome littlewolf it is indeed a tough time, I had 2 mmc and now I've made it to almost 13 weeks. My gp was v good about referring me for an early scan. I still stressed massively but it did help.

worm when do you get your results? How are you finding the Doppler, should I get one?

wombat you sound like you had a great trip, 22 weeks, wow!

Good to hear from you mrsb33 when do you get some more results? Has mr b33 done his test? I never could get dp to do that!

Off into town to meet a friend for lunch and tell her the news. Such a relief to be feeling normal again, or should I worry about not feeling sick now? Grin

Wormshuffler · 23/07/2011 08:17

Oh dear............I killed the thread :(

Wormshuffler · 22/07/2011 07:07

Grin mrsb good to hear from you.

wombat with pheasant casserole I now relinquish my lady of the manor status to you! Hope the flight home is ok, and have a lovely day today meeting up with your pal.

sparkly meeting up ey? Envy but your our sparkly!!! you can't go off hob nobbing with the december lot! they won't get your jokes like what we do Grin I stalked had a look at the thread and it looks great that you are all living so close to each other, go for it, it will be fun. The nursery prices sure are ridiculous, I am with harassed on the childminder thing, the ones around here charge £3.50 per hour and as harassed says they are way more flexible than nurseries. My friends who are childminders have a whole week of activities planned for their little ones, joe jingles monday, soft play tuesday, library story time wed............ they are never at home really.

Hi harassed hope your blood pressure evens out soon, good that you arn't allowing it to worry you as that would only make it worse!

Great news on the scan star, has DH come around at all on the telling people yet thing?

Hi little wolf how did the docs go? you got that early scan?

yellow hope everything goes ok today for your results, rfemember us old birds are already a 1 in 400 on age alone, so if you get that then there is and 399 to 1 that all will be ok. Now that I know everyone else gets their results back faster I am getting quite pissed off at having to wait so long, if only my DF still worked in the hospital lab!

It will all be ok try to keep yourself busy today xx

mrsb33 · 21/07/2011 21:43

Congrtats yellow and star and the fab scan updates!
Worm, sparkly! You two defo have the wrong idea about me! I feel like a right old dirty birdie!!!! {Maybe I will give the trafford meetup a miss,

OP posts:
wombatinwaiting · 21/07/2011 19:08

Welcome littlewhitewolf and a quiet congrats. Your story sounds very similar to mine with 6/7 week mc then mmc with erpc a few months later. The first few weeks are really hard as lots of the ladies on here will testify - one day at a time is boring advice, but does seem to work and expect to be a massive symptom spotter too. The good news is that it can happen - I am now 22 weeks - eek! Hand-holding and lots of support available here - we are all at different stages - ttc, early pg (see marathon, cuttlefish and purple posts above), post 12 week and a wee bit more sane and old faces like nurse and mana who are coming close to term!

Meet up sounds fab sparkly - you'll have to give us the full low-down on everyone! Lovely that the sparklygrandparents are so excited to have Monty for a day a week - are DH's parents close too?

Waves to all - got to dash - mum has just cooked a pheasant casserole Shock !

LittleWhiteWolf · 21/07/2011 14:09

Tentative hello...

I found out on Monday that I'm pregnantwas really too early to test as I didn't think I was due on until today, but I just had a feelingso very early days. I had an mc at 6 weeks in Jan and an mmc in April for which I had an ERPC. Since then my cycles gone a bit mad and I was sure DH and I had missed our chance this month, but apparently not. Am elated and terrified at the same time. Anyone fancy holding my hand for, oh, the next 9 months? Wink

I have a drs appt a week today and I'm going to ask him if there is a possibility I might get an early scan. I feel really cheeky asking it for some reason. I just want to try to put my mind at rest a little bit!

Sparklywine · 21/07/2011 13:56

Nowt wrong with a Nissan Micra Wombat, mine's a super-cute pootlemobile

Show-off! Grin
Yellow, that nursery is unbelievable, is that standard London prices then? MI5 not got some sort of child spy ring creche? I was quoted £850 a month full time last I checked, however am hoping to go back to work 3 days a week, and GrannySparkly and GrandadSparkly are excited about looking after the bean one day a week (though Dsis freaked the other day when Granny fed Dniece#2 some Blue Riband without checking for nuts Grin Funny to see my little sis get all bristly and mum-like, she's normally very laid-back. I'm going to be a bundle of angst by comparison)
Anyone come across Kri5ty on the pregnancy forums? She posts on everything, she is so excited about motherhood; anyway, she is also from Manchester and is organising a get-together on 13th August at the Trafford Centre. If any of you are nearby it would be lovely for you to join us. They've mostly met on the Due in December thread, which seems largely mucus and 'little friend' free so I had better watch myself (*MrsBB, you might want to give the meet a miss! Grin)

wombatinwaiting · 21/07/2011 10:13

x-post harassed - Grin at your trolley on wheels. I'm going through a similar thing now borrowing my mum's 10 year old Nissan Micra - hilarious after our 4x4s in Dubai (everyone has one, please don't think I'm showing off or mega rich!) - feels like a roller skate! Great to hear that you're getting good care from your mw and hopefully your bp will settle down.

Will whizz over some sun on Saturday when I'm back in the sandpit. Even I was getting bored of the rain last night!

wombatinwaiting · 21/07/2011 09:59

Yay for great scan news star and for midwife led care!

Agh re: the wait yellow - hope you have lots to distract you over the next 48 hours - it still amazes me how they can take quite so long when it is absolutely do-able in one hour..... You really have had it bad with the sickness and tiredness - feel for you. Is DP being supportive?

marathon, purple and cuttlefish - hang in there - one day at a time and repeat the mantra "symptoms come and go" - far easier said than done, I know, but it's the only thing that kept me sane(ish).

I know what you mean about the movement one day but not the next worm - I wake up each morning hoping for something immediate but he usually gives me an hour or so to mental before making an appearance!

Grabbing the PC while I can - the parents are always on it! I have been giving a few IT lessons while I've been here which is a tad painful at times but always appreciated!
