mrsb33 wowweeeee, how exciting, that's made my day. When did you find out? Did you test early? Did you have symptoms? What do you think worked? Did you do extra sexing or something? We need DETAILS!

Off to catch up, back in a bit x

wombatinwaiting · 18/08/2011 06:36

Help yourself to the pile of muffins yellow - cheese and tomato, pumpkin seed, chocolate and blueberry to get you started! It was v funny the other night - was in a v nice french restaurant and order a "mojito de verdure" (I think) which was a virgin mojito made with mint and yellow tomato! It was delicious, but felt a bit odd drinking my mn buddy! Grin Good luck with the m/w today and let us know how it goes.

Due date is 24 November and I am 26 weeks today - eeek! only another 2 weeks til I'm in the dreaded 3rd trimester - ladies with dc already - is it as bad as they say?

Thanks for dropping in mana - can't believe you are so close! Sorry to hear about the black spots - here's to an uneventful next 3 and a bit weeks - keep us posted!

Waves to all - hols tomorrow so might not be around much xx

yellowtomato · 17/08/2011 14:44

hello ladies

I'm working from home and having a rubbish day, please cheer me up by providing nice things to eat.

Wow manamana how exciting to soon have your baby. Our first grad!

Meet up sounds fun sparkly how is the breathlessness going? Hope it's improved a bit.

Martin Lews wombat off on anothe holiday, it's all go with you isn't it? When is your due date? I think mine seems so far away because it's next year, I think it would seem a lot sooner if it was this year even if it were at the end of the year iyswim. Midwife isn't actually until tomorow, am looking forward to hearing heartbeat, at least I'll know something is going on in there and it isn't just over eating causing the swelling.

Can't wait to go on holiday, 10 days to go!

manamana · 17/08/2011 13:57

HI everyone, just thought I'd drop in to say hi and see how everyone's doing. Good to see all beans cooking nicely and some progress for those still waiting for their BFP. I am now 3 and a half weeks away from my elective cs and fingers crossed, a new baby! After the first 4 or 5 months dragging time now seems to be flying past. Not posting/reading much as I have black spots in front of my eyes to add to all my other rubbish symptoms. Take care all x

wombatinwaiting · 16/08/2011 12:05

He he - you made me laugh about your image of my holidays sparkly - mind you, I do find there is something slightly sexy about Martin Lewis Blush

I love Centerparcs but can imagine it's some people's worst nightmare... I think they do archery if that's of any interest..... otherwise, go with worm's great suggestion - I've been fortunate enough to have been given 2 x preg massages as bday presents and they've both been deeeeevine. Sounds like you could do with one worm - hols with PILs are not really hols! How is miniwormshuffler these days?

So fab to hear about the meet-up sparkly - did anyone look like you were expecting them to? Are you meeting again? Re: the breathlessness - check out the link I posted above - it's incredible how squished our lungs get, plus extra boobage as you say and did you know there's an unbelievable extra 1.2kg of blood we're carrying out by the end of pg? The heart has to work extra hard to pump it all around so it's no wonder we're knackered!

Wormshuffler · 16/08/2011 08:43

But there is always the spa sparkles! Wink Glad you are alive and kicking Grin
Thanks wombat Holiday was ok-ish as much as staying with the in laws ca be! Glad to be home and back to decorating !

Sparklywine · 16/08/2011 08:30

Yup, lurking!
Had a poor night's sleep last night, felt I couldn't breathe that well so sat propped up by pillows cuddling my childhood teddy bear (seem to have forgotten I am 37). It's happened twice now, I think it's Monty moving, and the pressure of my massive boobs! My boss has looked all concerned and told me to ring a midwife, just glared at her but will do some sneaky research on mn. Sure breathlessness is quite normal, especially when lying down and everything is squished.
The meet-up on Saturday was great, there were 6 of us and everyone was lovely. All due December-ish apart from one lady who had a 2.5 yr old and a 7 week old baby girl, both adorable. She was tired but exuded a happy calmness, which I am hoping to harness. Everyone was very excited, and seemed to have ordered their nursery suite already which made me feel quite unprepared, we still haven't got much further than Fungus the Bogeyman! Grin Ordering the cotbed this weekend, it really feels like things are moving quickly now, what with me having to notify work next week on dates for my mat leave, and getting the MATB1 form in.
It's actually happening!
Wombat, as soon as I read "here's hoping for a totally uneventful break!" I have to say I pictured Martin Lewis in a cream suit and the tanks moving in! Grin My last holiday was to Grange over Sands by the way so you're not doing too badly! Grin Dsis wants us to go with her and the girls to Centre Parcs in Sept, I can't think of anything worse! Haven't got kids to indulge, can't get drunk to blot out the horror, and can't take part in any activities (you know how sporty I am! Grin)
Anyone for a wedge of white toast and melty presidente butter?

wombatinwaiting · 16/08/2011 07:27

Morning all - yes, very quiet indeed around here.... hope everyone is ok. I've been a bit slack of late too but all is well other than a minor panic this morning when wombatjunior wasn't turning his usual somersaults post first cuppa. I think he was just having a lie-in as all back to normal now. Oh, and I experienced a leg cramp for the first time around 4 this morning - extraordinarily painful and I keep looking at my calf expecting it to show signs of distress as I can't believe something that sore can result in nothing. Has made me realised that perhaps I have a very low pain threshold - eek!

Good luck at the midwife tomorrow yellow and thanks for the goodies! Don't worry about being big - have you ever seen this interactive link of what happens to you inside to make room for the bub? Quite incredible and no wonder we suffer from constipation, breathlessness etc. Oh, re: the asprin - both ob/gyns said keep taking it up to 32 weeks. There is a small school of thought that it can promote bleeding but from what I have read there are larger schools of thought that do encourage taking it and 75mg is such a small amount....

Very, very pleased for you wellie that you have such a pro-active doctor to help you. When do you and DH have all the tests? Great you had such a nice weekend too.

Good news on the HCG levels emma - it is a strange limbo time - not wanting to believe it's going to happen, yet desperately hoping for it at the same time. Lots of hand holding available here as you know. Good luck with getting the prog supps - I only took 1 a day, but I know other people take up to 4 a day.....

Are you back from hols worm and did you have a lovely time? Great that you have the doppler for reassurance - I wonder if i will cave at some point...

I also wonder how the rest of you ladies are doing - marathon, sparkly, harassed - what news from your beans? Hope all is ticking along nicely.

We're off for 8 nights to the Czech Republic and Germany on Friday - can't wait to get out of this heat and into some fresh air and greenery and it will be lovely to spend some time with just DH - our last hols were in NZ in Feb which were spent mostly with both sets of parents and then of course had the slightly stressful time with the earthquake at the end - here's hoping for a totally uneventful break!

Waves to all x

Wormshuffler · 16/08/2011 07:08

Hi Girls
I hope everyone is well, it has gone very quiet around here.......
Excellent news on the increased hcg think positive, this will be a sticky one.
It is very nerve wracking being PG yellow I am loving my doppler, can find the heartbeat every time, so I listen to it at least once a day, it's great fun chasing it around my belly. I am 19 weeks today and don't feel movements every day, far from it.
Sounds like you had a lovely break wellie and good news on the pro-active ozzy healthcare.
Are you lurking sparkly (hope you had a fun time at the meet up give us the deets) star wombat harassed hope you are all ok

yellowtomato · 15/08/2011 10:10

Morning all

wellie that sounds very positive, it's good to get taken seriously and get the ball rolling. Let's hope for some good answers too.

worm that does sound odd, I can't wait until I can feel movements...just 16 weeks today so have a little while to wait.....but my belly is enormous, someone asked if I was sure I had my dates correct Blush

wombat I guess it's weird to move between clinics but I am yet to see the same midwife twice. I'm just resigned to that as part of London 'care'. I wanted to check with you again about the aspirin....we're still meant to be taking it right? Cos when I went to get some more the other day the pharmacist refused to give it to me without a doctors prescription which made me worry a bit. I just went to a different chemist and picked it up....my acupuncturist recommended I take it but I haven't mentioned it to any of the midwives....

Am seeing the midwife on wed to listen to the heartbeat, am feeling a little bit nervous that there will be nothing there....it is just such a weird 'limbo' time.

emma hurrah for the increased hgc and good luck with getting drugs from the doctor.

I've bought a selection of warm pastries, pain au raisin, pain au chocolat, croissant and a special danish lemon thing-y with white icing....please dig in.

emmaandthestar · 14/08/2011 19:07

Hello Wellie glad the doctor is paying attention, I hope you get the answers you want...
Well after my really low HCG(4 days before AF due) I had another set done last week, they were up to 572 on 16dpo which is on the high side of average!
Still feeling really odd, emotional and stressed, so am going to the docs on Tuesday to campaign for the progesterone suppositories - if I go back to the private specialist she will charge a fortune - may as well try the NHS first!

Worm I have seen Ange in the west end recently and she is as beautiful in real life Envy

wellieboots · 14/08/2011 12:35

Hi ladies!

Been away for the weekend, fantastic time despite flight delays and all that stuff.

Doc was really helpful - wants to get all my bloods done and DH to do his SA, I think it was the irregular cycles as well which made him act quick. He was lovely and understanding and his wife had a blighted ovum first time too :( so he was sympathetic to that as well which was great - now on to the next challenge of staying calm and not stressing about what they might find when we get it done

Sorry just quick catch up as just back and back to work tomorrow - will come back during the week and catch up properly

:) to everyone

wombatinwaiting · 14/08/2011 10:28

How very frustrating mrsb - I'd be tempted to try the acu if I was you.

Haven't got mint magnums here harassed but they sound bloody good.... my original ob/gyn is back this week, but I haven't see her since I was 8 weeks (25 weeks currently) - feeling very disloyal and need time to settle into the new clinic but it seems pretty good so far. Had some routine blood tests there this morning and spent 15 mins with one of the midwives with all my questions which was helpful. Oh, and they even have valet parking! Blush

How did you get on at the docs wellie? Do let us know when you can.

Waves to all! x

Wormshuffler · 14/08/2011 07:44

That sounds really shitty mrsb Lets hope you become upduffed between now and then!
I hope the docs in Oz are kinder to you wellie!!

Im Worm Junior news I felt the baby do some kind of flip last night where is seemed to be trying to lie with its feet in my back and head in my belly button! was most odd!

Waves to all

yellowtomato · 13/08/2011 10:02

I'm feeling a lot better now, thanks, hardly feeling sick at all now. However belly is massive, more like 5 or 6 months when I'm only almost 16 weeks!

I ovulated too but the acupuncture helps for the whole body to be more balanced and have the right welcoming atmosphere for the egg nurturing. Also the Chinese herbs were helping with having the best quality of everything. So for eg each month a number of eggs may ripen but the herbs helped for the best quality one to be selected and the acu helped with overall body balance. Or something like that.

On mums net I did read of other people who had used acu to change fsh levels or something, some who had been having problems and after 3 months of acu conceived. That's what made me try it in the first place.

Worth a try, may or may not have been the decisive factor but it also made me feel good that I was doing something.

Fingers crossed af stays away.

mrsb33 · 12/08/2011 22:56

Thanks yellow, wasn't sure if I needed it with me finding out I ovulate as normal?? A friend of my cousin does it and only charges 25 per session to friends and family, so may look into him doing it, if I reach that 12 month milestone with no bfp at the end, which isn't far now, 22nd sept.
Af is due any day, think its all over this month, have all the af symptoms! Boo hiss!!! How are you anyway? Feeling ok?

OP posts:
yellowtomato · 12/08/2011 20:36

I can't believe it, what a nightmare. So frustrating for you. Let me offer you some Wine have you thought about maybe trying acu in the meantime, might help to feel you are doing something? Big hugs

mrsb33 · 12/08/2011 18:17

Can you bloody believe the NHS its a 10 week waiting list for an ultra sound!!so another 5 weeks before they even see me, probably 2 weeks for the results then dh has to do his tests! It will be christmas before we know it!!!! Aaaahhhhhhhh frustrating isn't the word!

OP posts:
harassedandherbug · 11/08/2011 16:43

Hi ladies!

Urgh I'm having a grotty day. Work is busy, I've got a cold coming, it's my first due date and I'm shattered! The shattered bit is self inflicted though. Went to the pub with my prg yoga ladies and didn't get in to 10.30...go me and my rock 'n' roll lifestye. 10.30 I ask you??!!! And not a drop of alcohol involved. I hope I'm getting a baby that sleeps this time Grin.

Thank you all for concern though. I'm ok honestly. I have Monday & Tuesday booked off (don't work Weds) so looking forward to a long weekend. We were hoping to go away but dh is so busy he doesn't think he can Sad. Looking forward to lots of time with dd though.

Cute alert: dd has started talking through my belly button, as she thinks this is a direct route to Bug!

Wombat glad to hear all is going ok and yaay to good scan! Is your original ob still on sick leave?

mrsb lovely to hear from you, and I really hope you get some answers soon.

wellie get off dr. google!!! You know better than that Wink.

worm.... hmmm and you look such a "nice" girl in your fb pic!! Don't forget to share your Brad pics either.

sparkly at they least the didn't loot Poundland like in some towns. I mean, why???!!

Have you all tried the Mint Magnum??? It's delicious....... although there may be a nationwide shortage as I've eaten so many of them. My local shops are still out of stock from my Curly Wurly stage Blush.

wellieboots · 10/08/2011 13:34

wombat I am so sorry to hear about Suki Sad, hope you are getting on OK and yay for good scan!

mrsb great to hear from you, good luck with getting news from the docs

Off to the docs on Friday, haven't been since we got here so no idea how it will go - but the system here is completely different, you don't have to register or anything, just make an appointment, so if I don't like them I can just go to another one next time. Just want some chat about how things work here in terms of whether they would do investigations and when and all that, but more than anything concerned about my v irregular cycles post mc and feel the need to tell a doc about that and see what they think - the latest scary dr google diagnosis I have decided on is that I have ashermans syndrome caused by the ERPC..... why do we do it to ourselves, eh?!

Hope you enjoy cornwall worm

please take it a bit easy harassed, you need to look after yourself

hope all of you are ok with all this rioting rubbish going on - can't believe it!

waves!

wombatinwaiting · 10/08/2011 11:14

Morning all and thank you so much for your lovely thoughts and wishes on Suki- we are definitely better than we were at the weekend, but the place does seem really quiet and not the same without her.

Glad to read that Monty is up and kicking again sparkly - the sporadicness (is that a word?!) is so frustrating. Can't wait to see the pics of the cats in a sling! You definitely have a classier hoodlum oop north - I have been really upset to see my hometown of Croydon being destroyed but relieved that all friends and family are safe. Did any of you see this bbc clip of some mindless, ignorant girls? It beggars belief. I was lost for words.

Sorry to hear that it got quite close to you yellow although glad you slept through it! WEll done on holding back on a scan - may these next few weeks until movements pass really quickly for you.

Sounds like you need a bit of a break harassed - can you get any help / time off to put your feet up, even for an afternoon?

Can't remember if I told you that we bought a 2nd hand chameleon - we bought it from a nice English family and the mum bought just about every accessory going for it so it was quite a bargain.

Good to hear from you mrsb and I'm glad you're still hanging around. Well done for hassling the docs on your appointments etc. - I really hope they will provide you with some answers. Hope also that you and DH can get things back on track soon - it is a very stressful time. Sending hugs.

Love your stories worm - what would we do for filth without you?!

Any more updates from you emma? everything still tightly crossed here.

How are you doing marathon? When is your scan?

How is your dd's eye star? Hope it's recovering well and you're feeling ok.

Saw a new ob/gyn yesterday as my original one (with the 3 broken vertebrae) pushed my appointment back again and this other one came highly recommended from someone else and she delivers at a different hospital from the one where I had the m/cs. She looks like a mad professor with bright orange curly hair but seems to know what she's talking about! She did a quick scan and wombatjunior has grown enormously in the 5 weeks since the last one and was doing some weird frogs legs position - it was really nice to see him!

Ooh - how are nurse and manamana doing? - they must be close to the end now!
