Baby Worm all present and correct Grin

Sparklywine · 26/08/2011 12:24

Steady on, who said anything about a fortnight! Grin
Yellow, how much are flights to Tripoli then?

Wormshuffler · 26/08/2011 10:05

Well sparkles there is no answer to that I'm afraid, as all babies are different, however the holiday itself will be worth any amount of suffering on the plane (although your fellow passengers may not feel the same)! Go for it I say. It will definately be a break as I would think Mum-out-law will probably want to take over completely for 2 weeks, with you being on her territory and all.
Have a fun expedition yellow are you off to 'take out Gaddaffi'? If so could you buy me said barbour jacket with your bounty money please! Don't worry I would put it on a blue or a pink worm.
Good luck mrwellie

yellowtomato · 26/08/2011 08:34

Good luck also for tomorrow wellie

I may not be around much for about 10 days, not sure what the internet availability will be like where I'm going Grin

Sparklywine · 26/08/2011 08:33

Good luck Worm, long day indeed! Maybe muck out the stables or something Grin Went on the Mamas and Papas site yesterday and there was a toddler boy in the cutest green padded barbour-type jacket, thought of you Smile
Good luck too Wellie, stressful times but you will both get through it. A friend at work has been trying for two years, her dh went in last week to 'crack one off' as he charmingly put it, and got through it ok. His results came back really quickly. Recommend your fella does not make the same mistake of telling all the lads on his team what he is doing though!
Yellow, where are you going on hols? Ooh, holiday-related question for the experienced mums, if we were to take Monty to Miami to see the Outlaws next Spring, he will be about 5 months, providing he is quite a good baby is this a feasible idea or are we bonkers? Also, is a direct 10 or so hour flight better, or should we transit after a few hours (in Chicago say) to get a break and a stretch? Would it be a 'break' or would it be hellish and we'd be better just sucking it up and getting there asap? The thought of bobbing about in a pool with a chuckling Monts is lovely, aware I may well be in a lot of denial but am getting excited about our little bubble-life of cake and cuddles Grin
Hope all are well and looking forward to a long weekend if in the rainy UK x

wellieboots · 26/08/2011 02:05

Wormshuffler · 25/08/2011 21:13

Thanks girls, it isn't until half 3 so it will be a long day!...........must keep busy, must keep busy! Not finding out, team yellow here.

Sick is good emma Grin

yellowtomato · 25/08/2011 18:53

just a quickie to wish worm good luck for tomorrow.

Things are mental at work trying to get everything done before I'm off on my two week hols.....can't wait, if I can just get through tomorrow!

emmaandthestar · 24/08/2011 19:43

Wellie (()) hugs to you, we had that issue the month previously - I spent the night sulking and furious which obviously led to a romantic atomosphere (not).

Boobs really sore and feeling really sick - I am hping this is a good sign as did not feel this awful before :)

Worm good luck with the scan on Friday - are you going to find out whether it's a boy worm or girl worm?

I am wondering whether to insist on an early scan as 5 weeks until the 12 week scan seems like an age away and I am already attached...

MarathonMama · 24/08/2011 15:16

Hello ladies, have been staying at the out laws so haven't been around much. Just wanted to say a massive congrats to MrsB and send a big Grin to Emma for seeing the hb. So pleased for you both.

I haven't managed to read all the posts but did see that beans are cooking nicely. My 12 week scan is booked for the 7th, two weeks today. A different kind of 2ww... Feeling very nervous as haven't had any symptoms for a week or so.

Anyway, will be back later when I've got more time.

waves to all

Star82 · 23/08/2011 11:30

He was 99.5% sure it's another girl but we will wait for the 20 week scan before we tell people just in case as i am only 17 weeks on friday.
Announcement went up yesterday evening harrassed :)

harassedandherbug · 23/08/2011 10:47

Star good results! We decided not to have them done, I was worried about my age tbh. The 20 week scan was fine though, no soft markers, so I'm happy. How was the sexing scan?? Did I miss the FB announcement?

Worm I'm also brooding silently for now. Dh has his fight on Saturday so don't want to distract him, but we really need to sit down and have a good chat about several things tbh.

Good news here is that dh finally managed to feel Bug moving! He's def re-positioned himself so maybe that explains the decreased movement over the weekend. It was very weird when dh couldn't feel anything when I was taking such a kicking!! Never had an anterior placenta and dd was back to back so always felt loads and dh too.

Wormshuffler · 22/08/2011 21:07

Nice one star Grin Your nuchal is much better than mine, I'm a 1 in 1000 and shitting bricks about the 20 week scan on friday!

I'm over my issues with DH, and to be honest He didn't even know I had issues, I brooded silently......

Great news about a heartbeat emma

Sorry you appear to have missed this months boat wellie it does put terrible strain on things, I guess we forget that the Men feel the pressure and disappointment too...........

Hope you are well mrsB how you feeling?

Star82 · 22/08/2011 20:58

There you go Worm Grin!!

yellowtomato · 22/08/2011 11:56

Morning ladies

harassed and worm sorry you are having DP issues, they can be so inconsiderate at times. My DP loves watching football but that's about it so it's not too bad. Have you seen that WKD advert where the bloke is in the pub and all the guys go quiet so he can pretend to be at work? Not sure why but it really pisses me off!

wellie big ((())) from me too. My DP never had to do a sample (it was heading that way though) and he was less than keen to say the least. I was not sure that I'd ever be able to get him to do it. I had the form from the drs for a few months and was just working up to putting more pressure on him.

ooh must go, boss back

Star82 · 22/08/2011 11:37

Morning all!!!!

Well, well, well mrsb.....bloody fantastic news :)!!!!! I bet you're so excited and we're all clearly very, very pleased for you and DH.

Sorry worm, i've been lurking but seem to be on and off all the time. The kids have kept me busy and we've had DH's nephew up to stay for a few days.

Not sure if i have mentioned but nuchal came back at 1 in 2800 which they said is low risk although i seem to have seen some people have 1 in 50,000 which doesn't make it seem that great. Saw midwife on wednesday and my iron/hb results came back at 10.5 :(. Normal range is 11.9-14.9 i think but i expected this as i'm always on iron tablets with the other pregnancies. Bit pissed off with the midwife to be honest though as i mentioned my iron levels will probably drop at the booking in appt and she was saying to get some spatone from boots and then hopefully they should be ok. Well get to boots and realise it's 8 pound for a box of 28 sachets so i thought i'll leave it for now cos if mine are low, i'm entitled to a free prescription. By putting myself on spatone, i'll show up normal levels therefore not getting it free. Anyway, cut to midwife's appt on wednesday and she goes on about spatone again. I asked about iron tablets and she says they prefer not to put us on them as can cause constipation/upset stomach. I told her, i've never experienced those problems before whilst taking them but she kept pushing bloody spatone on me. Now, me being me, i wanted to have a go and tell her i'm entitled to free health care whilst pregnant and unless she can put spatone on prescription then i'm asking her for a prescription for iron tablets. However, i'm a complete shit head and bottled it and just sat there neither agreeing i would buy it nor demanding a prescription. I felt like i was being really tight. I went and got some anyhow on 3 for2 at boots but when i read the dosage, you actually have to take 2 sachets a day so a box isn't quite going to last half a month so 16 pound a month for another 5 months is going to mount up. I'm really angry at her to be honest and might go straight to the doctor and ask for a prescription rather than challenge her again. Made it hard cos she does it in a very patronising smiley, smiley way so i felt awkward saying what i was really thinking.

Oh, and also..........booked a sexing scan which is at tea time today! Can't wait so providing baby is still there and everything looks ok, you can expect a big facebook announcement this evening Worm!! Grin

harassedandherbug · 22/08/2011 09:50

MrsB glad you managed to get on!! Congratulations again! How are you feeling??

Emma yay to a hb! I saw a hb at 6 weeks too........ I took it as a good sign (it was, obviously) as it's not always possible to see one so early.

yellow yes, it's the listeria. I'd risk it personally! Or make your own. Mum used to make one which was tuna or smoked mackerel or smoked salmon whisked up the Magimix with some mayo/cream cheese, lemon juice and seasoning. And yes, getting lots of movements now! Placenta is anterior though so dh can't feel them which is weird.

wellie huge ((()))'s. It must be very stressful for both of you lovely.

worm I have similar issues with dh at the moment.

Training twice a day, fight coming up, plus his mum's in hosp so he's over there a lot. It just leaves me to do everything!! Oh and he's showing little interest in Bug too. Last night was the last straw. We were going to the fight together, it's his first one and I'm a bit wobbly about watching someone trying to beat up my husband. But oh no, his trainer (a woman just to add insult to injury) says she'll pick him up and take him. He mustn't be stressed, can't see me before the fight blah, blah, blah. So I have to make my own way to a place I don't know, which isn't normally a prob but is at the moment for some reason. Anyway, I'll cope with that, I'm just sick of this bloody woman dictating things. I was really upset last night but didn't show it. I couldn't sleep, so ended up downstairs bawling my eyes out. He hasn't a clue, and I don't want to upset him before the fight. But afterwards we will be having a "discussion".

Bug stopped moving on Saturday evening which sent me into panic mode. All was well though on Sunday am at mw check, they're fitted me in straight away. Said a pattern is unusual this early, but it was the right thing to do. He also did a mammoth kick last night! Big enough to see my tummy move! I have an anterior placenta so he's either very strong or has a great aim to miss the placenta Grin. It's weird that dh can't feel him kicking, when I can feel it so strongly!

wellieboots · 22/08/2011 00:35

Yay for emmabean and the heartbeat, early days but we are all here for you!

I will be cheering from the sidelines this month, as DH is having .....ahem.....issues, think it is nerves about giving his SA sample on Sat, exhausted as we tried all weekend to DTD but it just didn't happen, so unfortunately that's another cycle gone.......

emmaandthestar · 20/08/2011 18:35

Wow, MrsB congratulations!!!
My GP would not do any early scans as I have only had one MC, so the private consultant asked me to come in for the progesterone and an early scan and I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks! still not reassured yet as it's a long way to go but it was the first hurdle...

Waiting for the bill for the scan to come through but it will be worth it.

So I am fanjo-ing every night with the progesterone - how lovely!
I was anti centre parcs until we had DD, now we find it very very relaxing because if she is entertained then we are relaxed!

I am going next week with some friends but feeling so tired and sick (wasn't this sick last time) and can't go on any of the slides / spa so hope they don't think I am a spoilsport.
Also no wine with the BBQ etc

Mrsb I have also been getting cramps, not severe just like mild period pain, I seem to remember having them before but you know what it's like, every twinge is now nerve wracking.

Yellow re the nursery questions, I found outside time important as well as the food that they provide, however I really couldn't judge any until I had DD and then I just got good feelings about one and couldn't stand the others!

Wormshuffler · 20/08/2011 06:39

Welcome to the mentaling mrsb I'm still feeling so chuffed for you Grin re getting a early re-assurance scan, I didn't do it as I pretty much pretended I wasn't PG until about 10 weeks, but that's just my coping mechanism, assuming the worst, hoping for the best...... Maybe you could get one at 8 and a half weeks when you have passed where you got to last time? It does sound like you have a lot of symptoms, I had the cramping thing up until 14 weeks, so it's not a bad sign, just the baby getting gripped on and the uterus stretching. Did you have symptoms with the M/c this early? as I always see them as a healthy sign and didn't really get any with my MC but loads this time. Anyway I am babbling now.
yellow re the listeria thing, yes that is what they worry about, and I think it is because it is more of a risk to you than the baby IYSWIM. I have been having cream cheese and salami toasties for the last 10 weeks and am fine.

I very nearly bought and consumed a bottle of wine last night, my usually great DH proper p'eed me off and I really wanted one! But I resisted and have finished sulking now. I think I am feeling over sensitive, but I have jealousy over the amount of time he spends on football! could be worse he could be in the pub or out with other women! but the final straw was yesterday when he finished work early and rather than home and spent time with his family he chose to drive a 95 mile round trip so he could play football for the third time this week, then when he did finally arrive home spent hours sorting out the fantasy football league on the computer. Speaking of being a wag where is our resident wag star82 she must be gone way past 12 weeks now and I havn't seen a big announcment on FB or the pages of ok magazine! say hi if you are lurking!

Keep your eyes open for that SPD harrased lets hope the twinges dont turn into anything as that sounds awful!

I love centreparks personally, but it would be rubbish without being able to go on all the slides (and you wouldnt catch me in a swimming costume in front of real humans anyway) and take part in half of the activities, also the whole BBQing and drinking wine thing is my favorite part.

I'm off to look at a nearly new pram this weekend, its a real bargain at £60 and does everything I want it to, I am trying to save as much money as possible as I really don't want to go back to work until my older DC's are old enough to be left on their own in the school holidays, so say 3 years. All my family will have moved away by christmas and it's really hard sorting out childcare for a 12 year old. Also I wouldn't be working for the money as once you take out childcare fees for the baby I would come home with £300 a month!! definately not worth it!

Sorry for the enormous post, I am up early can't do anything noisy yet!

Waves to all

yellowtomato · 19/08/2011 11:16

Hello mrsb33 how exciting. It really is a nerve wracking time, but we're all here to hold your hands. My gp referred me for early scans straight away, I hope you have the same luck. Not sure the system where you live but her I have to go to GP and he sets it all in motion including midwife appt etc so you might get something quicker rather than waiting for midwife? Sounds like you've got a lot of symptoms, which although are gruesome are also a good sign.

Hey harassed I'm not sure why I didn't just ask what they are checking for...it's like I forget what I want to know when I'm in with the midwife. I wanted to ask a pate question. There is this v nice 'pate' which is actually smoked salmon with cream cheese......but still on the banned pate list. But what is the risk? If it is listeria couldn't I just get DP to eat it and if he's not ill the next day I can have some? Cos even though not pg he'd still be ill if he got listeria? 22 weeks, that's impressive are you feeling a lot of movement?

I've got so much work to do but I just can't seem to get started - must focus. I've been looking at Ofsted reports for nurseries - we're visiting one this weekend and I'm not sure what to ask....any ideas?

mrsb33 · 19/08/2011 10:24

hello, ive managed to log on, yyeeeeeeeeeeeaaaa!!

so an update, got my bfp on wednesday evening, did 2 pound tests in the morning and got a very faint positive after 5 minutes of waiting so thought evap???? so brought a clear blue test that day and it came up a BPF!!!
We over the moon, its been a long 11 months of trying and starting on fertility tests ect, we were both extreamly stressed!

we didnt do anything different this month apart from the clear blue ovulation monitor that i was kindly given, and extra BONKING OF COURSE!!!
Dh has been taking menavit and weve been cutting back on the dreaded booze and caffine, so not sure if that helped!

if im honest im feeling very anxious at the moment, got a achy tummy almost period esk?? constipation and bad WIND!!! and today a headache, extreme sickness and tiredness!!

Going to see if the midwife will get me in for an early reassurance scan as lost baby 1 at 8 weeks so the next 4 weeks are going to be nerve racking for me!

happy waves to everyone.

OP posts:
harassedandherbug · 19/08/2011 09:07

Oh MrsB is still not here!

Yellow glad all was well. They're looking for protein and I think sugar in your wee. Protein can indicate a uti or poss pre-eclampsia much later on and the sugar is diabetes I think. Sure I should know these things by now!

Who mentioned Centre Parcs? Don't do it! Especially with other people's kids - yuck. You'll have plenty of time for these tortures pleasures when your own bundles are bigger! I sat on the beach on Monday. It was bloody FREEEZING!!! But I'd promised dd so it had to be done...... Plus dh drove and ignored my directions because obviously he knows better. So it took 2.5 hours instead of about an hour to even get there.

Sorry not been around. Had a few days off work and haven't been near the pc apart from odd FB.

All is well though. I was 22 weeks yesterday!! Relieved and amazed. Feeling fine, just tired today having been kept awake by the flaming cat! She's lucky to be alive Grin. Spd is a bit twingy, have obviously been doing too much housework! I wish dh would read the leaflet about what makes it worse.

yellowtomato · 18/08/2011 18:12

Mid wife went well, it was v quick, not much chatting. BP fine, wee all good (not sure what they are looking for?) and listened to the heartbeat.

So all good but I'd really love to have another scan.....oh well only about 4 more weeks to wait!

Off to pregnancy yoga now!

Sparklywine · 18/08/2011 16:33

"That'll learn them to mess with me"
Yellow, have you made them disappear? Someone's propping up a bridge somewhere Grin
I am still all glowy about mrsb but uneasy about the prompting on her 'sexing sessions', we've been here before and have been aghast! Grin
