Aw, she's beautiful Worm, really adorable

She looks very tranquil and also knowing, in that weird way some babies have who may have been here before (Gabes does not, he is just grumpy looking and I think it's his first time here, unless he's just pissed off to be back Grin)
The fella is snoring away on a cushion next to me on the sofa, if I let him fall into a deep enough sleep this will work, but I need to be nearby or he will wake up and start crying. We had a better night and he isn't so 'chesty' this morning, more snuffily.
We (Gabes and myself) went to bed about 8pm, I was shattered and also sulking as dh had done nothing about Valentines. I know he doesn't do gifts but he's always been one for planning and executing lovely meals to demonstrate how much I mean to him, and last night he expected us to have frozen mini chicken pies Shock Grin. I threw a strop and went upstairs to have a little cry. Poor dh, I will have to explain and apologise; he daren't say he's tired for fear of throttling, but he must be weary too, and to be fair I had made no effort (greasy hair, pj's, huge boozum uncaptured by gigantic bra). I think he's feeling bad though as he's put the washing away, the little pile of folded muslins indicated guilt this morning.
I have a friend from working popping in for lunch which will be nice and then I might spruce myself up for later and try not to make dh's life a baffling misery.
Yellow, hope today sees you feeling more comfortable, and you're getting cuddles with Scarlett.
Ooh, one eye opens and swivels my way, time to go! x

"The sparkly tomatoes" has a nice ring to it!

Gabes is adorable. I have added a pic of Meg and done the mumsnet mates thing. Let me know if it works.

Sparklywine · 14/02/2012 16:22

Ah-ha, got it! Pic of Gabes posted Smile

Sparklywine · 14/02/2012 16:02

Thanks Worm, I'm trying not to be neurotic about my pfb, imagining pneumonia and all sorts. Just spent a nice few hours with dp's and dsis, none of whom panicked and called the paramedics so feeling better and he is feeding well again. Love him so very much. Tried to upload a photo but have forgotten my email details, no idea what they might be bar the normal - will try again when not so tired and less likely to type nonsense.
Aren't Jack and Meg the White Stripes? Cool. Worm-Wombat not so cool Grin

wombatinwaiting · 14/02/2012 13:39

Ooh sorry - hello to kool - hope you're well - we'll have our beady eyes on you next! xx

wombatinwaiting · 14/02/2012 13:38

Good point worm about the bell ringing. It didn't cross my mind in the middle of the night when I needed an extra blanket and shivered my way to the nurses station Hmm

Sorry to hear that Megs is still a bit mucousy - good luck getting it on camera - great idea by the way!

Now I'm assuming you're reading this still wellie? We're going to need you to start the new thread soon - It has been proven that whoever starts a thread gets a bfp and it's definitely your turn! xx

Wormshuffler · 14/02/2012 12:14

So sparkly , you are the only one of us regulars who has given birth the traditional way! The outcome is still the same though, healthy babies and happy Mummies. Grin
I hope Gabes is soon feeling better. The thing with babies is they get ill very quickly, but also recover quickly too.! Meg doesn't seem to have ever cleared up her newborn mucus. Her chest and nose sounds very rattly at times, and she grunts and wheezes a bit too. Typically whenever I mention it to the health visitor she isn't doing it. Sometimes when feeding she seems to forget to breathe and comes off and gasps for air. I am trying to get it on film so I can show the GP at her 8 week check up. It hasn't got any worse, in fact the grunting is improving a little. I'm hoping I am just been neurotic.

6 weeks and we already have them betrothed, it will have to be a long distance relationship unless there is any hope of you moving back this way wombat!

yellow if you are able to read I hope all is going well. Don't be afraid to keep ringing the bell to get help with looking after baby yellow, there are no prizes for being a hero and hurting yourself. Look out for the hormones when your milk comes in they are intense! Enjoy all the newborn snuggles xxxx

wombatinwaiting · 14/02/2012 10:05

Looks like it's Megs and Jack Worm-Wombat then! Grin

Poor Gabes sparkly - doesn't sound like his usual chirpy chappiness. Anyone you can get to see him for some advice? I;ve heard that putting them in a hot steamy bathroom can help clear their little airways or saline drops but I have no idea how they work. Sending hugs for you both xx

Sparklywine · 14/02/2012 08:27

Thanks Worm Smile
Gabes has a cold and is very bunged up, can't tell if it's his nose (no sign of snot) or chest (sounds bubbly, hope not!) He just won't latch on properly, and his eyes are all red and sleepy and unhappy Sad

Sparklywine · 14/02/2012 08:21

Thanks Wombat Smile

Sparklywine · 14/02/2012 08:20

Aw, welcome to the world Scarlett! Lovely name.
Look after yourself Yellow, lot's of hot sugary tea and toast. You will be feeling a bit in shock I expect, and tired and battered about; it will pass. We are all here lurky lurking - so delighted your little girl is safely here xxx

Smile
wombatinwaiting · 14/02/2012 07:03

Aw sparkly - can understand how you feel. Jack dropped down that much and I was a bit Sad but he is thriving nonetheless as I'm sure Gabes is too. Keep going xx

wombatinwaiting · 14/02/2012 07:02

And baby yellow is Scarlett! Thanks so much for keeping an eye on your fb worm and updating us - my notifications are useless!

I'm all goosebumpy and teary and over the moon at the same time for you and DP yellow. Relish those new born snuggles and take very good care of yourself too. It's very hard not to take your eyes off them, but do try and sleep when she does - sounds like you've been through quite a lot! Sending massive hugs and loads of love xx

Wormshuffler · 13/02/2012 21:47

Baby yellow is here !!! Born by emcs 10lb 4 x x x
I'm so very thrilled for Mr and Mrs yellow.

Wormshuffler · 13/02/2012 15:40

Don't beat yourself up about that sparkly I looked through my dcs books the other day and they were all over the centiles. They have grown into fine specimens who have no weight issues. Well dd is if anything getting on the chunky side now...:...
I too have a fractious baby during the day and have resorted to a sling in order to get anything done. I was panicky that meg hasn't pooed for a couple of days but doctor google says that after 6 weeks bf babies poo less sometimes going 8 days ! Wowsers!

We must have a yellow baby by now ! Hope all is well with you both if you are reading but can't post yellow x x

Sparklywine · 13/02/2012 15:12

Been to the baby clinic, Gabes is 10lb10 from a birth weight of 7lb11, he has dropped from just under the 50th centile to the 25th. They're not worried but feel a bit upset, like I've let him down. All that effort too. Going to spend the afternoon snoozing and feeding. He's a lot more fractious at the moment, especially in the evenings, so not feeding so well and is overtired now he's watching more tv taking stuff in.
Sigh.
Thinking of you Yellow x

wombatinwaiting · 13/02/2012 13:41

That's more like it! Let's wear purple and green blazers while we're at it! Grin

Still pacing here.... hoping all is well in the world of tomatoes xx

Sparklywine · 13/02/2012 09:58

Oh curses, that was last month.
Strawberries and cream anyone? Smile

Sparklywine · 13/02/2012 09:51

Not ^seasonal?!> Get away, it's still the month in which Burns night took place, surely?
Just mclurking....

Wormshuffler · 12/02/2012 20:55

Anything ?

wombatinwaiting · 12/02/2012 16:43

Yes please sparkly even though it's not strictly seasonal Hmm Grin

Drumming fingers, pacing the floor here - even DH has asked me twice today what is happening with yellow! Nowt on fb just yet so if you're reading, really hope all is well xxx

Sparklywine · 12/02/2012 15:52

Haggis, neeps and tatties anyone?

wombatinwaiting · 12/02/2012 10:13

Ah - that's lovely of you to search back that far worm - wow, what an incredible journey it has been for her. I remember when she got that awful statistic of only having a 1 in 3 chance or some such doom and gloom..... hooray for the pin cushion man!

wombatinwaiting · 12/02/2012 10:11

Any spare dairy milk sparkly? No? Oh well, I'll just have to eat this whole new bar myself! Grin

Feelng quite twitchy for yellow and her DP - probably not nearly as twitchy as they are though!

Will be checking in again in a couple of hours! xx

Wormshuffler · 12/02/2012 07:53

No news on FB.

I took my phone to bed last night so I could check if any news on the yellow baby during night feeds!

I stalked back to this time last year and yellow was so despondant about ever being able to have a baby had just started acu and was applying for her job. Now here we are a relatively short time later excitedly awaiting a yellow baby that the doom mongering Harley Street doc said would never come. Grin
