Apologies in advance for lack of personals, feeling meh this week and not very fluid. Had day surgery minor op last Fri and haven't been able to shower or drive since.. I've been topping and tailing myself Grin

Anyway, where to start...

cupcake congratulations, that's lovely news Smile. May you bloom and flourish until late Spring x

mrskate - really hope you're OK. I would speak to your DH at length about ttc no.2 as yes its all lovely and new baby and wow! but its bloody hard work and you have to be ready emotionally for all it entails.

barbie Miss D is a shining star but we always knew that Smile

QA nesting is lovely as is washing new babygrows and dusting down the carry cot part of the pram... Not longnow x

Vjay - you are just fab, can I say that? Always here with a quiet word and gentle cajoule. When are you being seen about the missing strings??

louey - loved your BUMBO photo of Oscar and deloghted he is giving you lots of smiles. Reallyt hope you have some golden time with him now the DT's are at school. I'm cherishing me and B time, even just wandering round TESCO chatting to him and sneak feeding him grapes - solid gold.

neeko - machine washable covers!!! I'm off every Tues/Thurs so lets get something arranged x

Graice great scan news and rest up.

MLS - I've seen your hover missus... Any temp spiking or too early ? I see your Cath Kidston bag and raise you two AND a CK kitchen! Yes I am shabby chic pastel flowers a go-go.

4ever so chuffed your hops are just round the corner and Smile at your packing fun. This thread is tricky for us all at times and you are right to air things rather than withdraw or feel you don't have a voice. I sometimes feel a bit Hmm still being here when I'm not going to be part of the 2012 baby boomers, but as long as I still feel I'm included and we continue to care about all of us not just those who are up duffed then Smile.

MummysLittleSunbeams · 13/09/2011 20:35

Tips for potty training:

You need to set aside a week when you aren't going anywhere.
Let your lo choose some big girl/boy pants that they won't want to ruin.
Let them run around upstairs with no nappy on whilst you are getting ready in the morning & make sure they can get to the potty.
Make a big fuss every time they use it.
Once you have made the decision to potty train - DON'T BE TEMPTED TO PUT A NAPPY BACK ON except for at night!
Buy them a character cushion such as Peppa Pig to put on their car seat, something they love & won't want to pee all over!

Providing they are ready it should take no longer than a week to do. Be prepared to spend the next 3 months saying "Do you need a wee-wee" 118 times a day & knowing where the nearest toilets are at ALL times!! Grin

bakingqueen · 13/09/2011 19:56

Congratulations cupcake so pleased so you
QA I have a pacapod changing bags its brill with the seperate pods for feeding and changing

Oh no wanted to do big post but luca crying...

cupcakefairy · 13/09/2011 19:15

4ever that's v good advice apparently...my mum said she trained all 4 of us in just a few days by using the 'look, dolly has weed in the potty' technique... apparently we were all totally amazed by it haha! Simple minds!! Hooray for packing...well, not for packing but for what it means Grin
Yep, conceiving maybe was to do with romantic France...though we conceived Jude in a tent in rainy windy West Wales GrinGrin
And this one will NOT be sharing Jude's birthday Grin...I'm determined to have a May baby this time!! (God-willing, of course)

barbie fab about the movements...and I too went Shock when I read 'baby brother'...makes it all so real!

qa enjoy the nesting :)

4everhopeful · 13/09/2011 17:25

Ooh x post QAinnestingmode sooooo exciting knowing LOs arrival is round the corner and all those final plans and things to buy!

Barbie meant to say at Dolly and proud mummy moments! Have you explained she is going to be a big sister yet? I brought Summer a proper Dolly and bottles/cup/bowl/spoon and she's also always 'feeding' her and cuddling her, soooo sweet, there is a dolls pushchair that converts too a carseat and highchair and deffo thinking of getting it for Christmas! Sounds like Dolly would like it too, will find a link... Funnily enough the dolly and feeding set is called baby cupcake Grin from ELC and also got a bath set as Summer is obsessed with ducks, one of her first words in fact and shouts it very loudly anytime she sees one, but this bath set also has a potty, so have held it back, so when we introduce Summer to a potty we can bring the toy one out and show her how her dolly does it! That's about the sum of my advice re potty training! Grin Right must dash dh home and want to show him the bursting to the brim suitcases and get all excited together!!! Grin

barbie1 · 13/09/2011 17:21

questions I don't know why but I freaked a little bit when I read dolly was getting ready for her baby brother Shock I haven't actually thought about having a real baby, nor a boy....

4ever it really is rubbish, I sit here thinking about packing, selling stuff etc etc and the next day dh says perhaps we should enroll dolly and I in a few classes in case we stay. I feel quite detatched from it here. I hate being in limbo.....

4everhopeful · 13/09/2011 17:04

Oh how awful to be just hanging in limbo over something so huge and lifechanging barbie ..... Angry You must be really frustrated, not at all needed with baby on the way... Oh, and bless you hon for being sensitive to my emotions, but I've told you before, pleeeeeease do not feel you can't talk about your pregnancy on here you silly soul! Grin Seriously i actually feel really bad to think of you holding things back that you should be sharing, this is what emmsys is all about, and it makes me smile to hear good news and positive happy things happening, ok mrs?! Smile

QuestionableAntics · 13/09/2011 16:46

Ooh cupcake fantastic news! Smile Smile Smile Must be quite a surprise for you. I loved your DTD 'only once' line... Grin

Barbie sounds like D is getting prepared for baby brother's arrival! It's lovely when somebody says something nice about your child, especially when it is an impartial person and not friends or family iyswim.

Neeko Fab that M is loving school. Sounds like you made the right decision with turning down the temp promotion, bet it wasn't an easy decision, but sometimes there is only so much juggling you can do. Poo-gate sounds horrendous, its one of those where do i start moments!

Gracie glad that you got signed off and can concentrate on resting and looking after yourself.

MrsKate Hopefully not too long until you find out what is wrong and they can help you with the pain. Sending you hugs.

4ever good luck with the packing, i hate it, but it will be worth it! Hope your pampering went well and you are happy with your haircut all ready for your hols!

Louey How did L get on today? hope he wasn't too dissapointed by the lack of Spanish teaching on his 1st day! Grin Great that I is enjoying it so much he wants to go on the weekends. It's a lovely feeling knowing they are happy to be at school, makes it a lot easier to cope with.

Thanks to you all for the changing bag advice, from vjay's free bag that came with the pram to MLS's Cath Kidston and everything in between Grin Will do a bit of googling of some of the names, have heard of storksack, but not seen them Barbie so will look, and cupcake of course should have thought of John Lewis!

Am getting to that want everything sorted phase and keep pestering DH about jobs that need doing! He is very good and we are getting lots done, but I realise I am hormonally nesting when i come up with random DIY or decorating that feels like it needs doing ASAP! Grin

Hope monkey and Strawberry are both ok.

Another Smile for cupcake's fab news!

barbie1 · 13/09/2011 16:05

MOVEMENTS! Not moments, bloody I pad Angry

4ever, still. No news...Greer getting a tiny bit pissed off now! I have enrolled on any classes with dolly in case we leave, so now we are like Billy no mates most days. Concerned about my medical stuff and getting sorted in the uk if we move, don't want to miss appointments and such. Dh wants to stay now, ideally if we could skip the uk bit but still do the s. Korea bit then that would be the ideal situation, but we are would be more than happy to stay here if they were to guarantee us another 4 years once this contract runs out.

We will wait and see......and wait and wait....

barbie1 · 13/09/2011 15:59

Hello I'm back, dolly all tucked up in bed, dh working late and I'm all showered and In my pj's! Such a glamourous life this Dubai lark! Grin

moon 2 stone??? Wow o wow! I'm sure you were beautiful before but you sound like you are very pleased with yourself over the weight loss so you will be a very beautiful (and upduffed bride! Fingers and toes crossed for you)

Loving all the school pics on fb at the moment, we emmsy's certainly breed good looking kids Wink

I am very, very proud today. Picked Devon up from nursery and her teacher pulled me aside and said how she is the happiest baby she has ever had!, not only that she is very impressed with her fine motor skills and speech. She said its like having a 3 year old Shock apparently dolly was playing with the dolls as per usual and she pulled out the highchair and sat the doll in it, pulled up her chair along side, fed her a bottle and spoon fed her...after which she burped the dolly and told the class too 'shhhh' as she was putting baby to bed! Grin looks like I have a very good helper for my next baby....

cupcake has the news sunk in yet?
I think it was you who asked about moments?....um yes.....I had movements as early as 15 weeks npbut it was one of the things I kept to myself due to not wanting to upset our lovely 4ever (sad smile)
They were few and far between and to be honest caused more worry then anything, if. Had a few days without feeling anything I would freak...I can usually make out faint taps a few times a day now. Smile
As for my next appointment, out scan is on the first sat of oct, they do it at 21 weeks here.

4everhopeful · 13/09/2011 15:49

Doh i missed a whole page! Hmm

Cupcake something about France then?! Maybe its the water?! Wink How bizarre if this one shares its birthday with Jude!

Mrskate do hope you're ok honey?

Vjay always felt you were very instrumental in my pregnancy with Summer too (not in that way Shock Grin ) but cos you kindly gave me youre doppler, which got alot of use! Btw - pmsl at thought of you posting Cjay! Grin

Barbie thanks for the hugs sweetheart, what's happening with your move? I'm thinking about potty training in tge next few months, ill be after tips! Good plan though cos i was Confused at the idea of 2 in nappies!

Mls what cd are you on now then? Have to get me to Boots for some tests! Cheeky chap! Shock

Louey yay for happy young schoolboys Grin bless him wantin to be multilingual on day one!

Qa great post the other day! To add my two penneth worth i got a matching mamas and papas changing bag to my prima viaggio combi pram..!

Gracie ugh to bad sickness, sleep, eat little and often, and more sleep would be my advice....

Sorry to those I've missed... Today I started packing, jeez what a mission! Sure we will end up getting done for excess baggage! Confused

VJay · 13/09/2011 15:47

I just use the free change bag that came with the buggy Grin, it does the job!

4everhopeful · 13/09/2011 15:28

Ahh congratulations cupcake!!!! Grin How mad is that, my last one was just the one time of dtd in over a week, and also worked out must of been late ovulation! Tis indeed crazy when u think how clinical ttc our pfb's became! So, a late April/May baby? You surely must of worked out your edd? Grin

barbie1 · 13/09/2011 14:29

Fab news cupcake!!!! ( I am NOT updating list)

Mrs Kate I hope you feel better and get to the bottom of whatever is wrong!

AS for nappy bags, I have a stork sac, would link but the I pad and I aren't friends so can't do it now. Will try later for you...if you go to the page mine is the purple one in sort leather with two front pockets. It cost a bit but imo it worth it.

4ever, hugs, and lots of positive thoughts coming your way for a better month and a fab holiday.

Ajay, dolly also tells me when she is doing/ done a poo and wee and even gets me the potty, I guess I should really start potty training properly, anyone want to join me??????

Back later to finish off....

MrsKate · 13/09/2011 13:49

I did pregnancy test at work and they did a blood serum test which both said a definite bfn

GracieGirl · 13/09/2011 13:29

Yay!! Cupcake what lovely news for me to wake up to! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Hopefully we've started the wave of BFPs to engulf all Emmsys, with a baby boom for next year! Smile

I'm due on 18th April according to my scan ( 9 weeks tomorrow).

Thanks for the advice Louey, I am trying to drink plenty and have been going to bed straight after DD (no point waiting up for DH who gets home around 10pm). I seem to be able to keep down tinned pears (odd!).

Hello MrsKate!

MummysLittleSunbeams · 13/09/2011 13:28

MrsKate could you be up the duff??? Hmm

MrsKate · 13/09/2011 13:08

Congrat to Cupcake GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

I'm still in hospital still waiting for dr I'm sooooo annoyed been waiting all day to find out results will post back when dr been round . I've still got abdo pain and lethargic nauseous etc xxxxxxx

cupcakefairy · 13/09/2011 12:35

By my calculations I'd be due about 17th May...was 19th with ds so interestingly timed! Will prob end up being June by my track record Hmm

loueytb3 · 13/09/2011 12:24

Woooohooooo cupcake!!!!!! Congratulations! Does that make you due in April or May? Yes would definitely amend your LMP to Drs. The cycle I got pg with O I thought I had no chance and hence didn't take any hpts on holiday with me. Hence dash to spanish pharmacy when we thought it was a possibility...

So cool to think that vjay had a hand in confirming your pg Grin. vjay that happened to me - took me 2 years to get pg with DTs (and then only via clomid). With my mc I got pg on the 2nd cycle after coming off the pill. I have a friend with twin boys who she conceived through IVF and then had a "surprise" baby boy when they were 18 months old. I'm kind of hoping that my sister gets that kind of luck rather than having to go through IVF to get a sibling for my nephew-to-be.

mls you are a style queen Have only recently heard of Cath Kidston...

Gracie glad you got signed off work, hope you feel better soon. My ms was always much worse when tired and dehydrated. So my tip is to drink lots and sleep as much as possible. Poor mrskate hope the CT shows what the problem is.

By some miracle, Luke was fine this morning. I left him with the teacher and we had no tears or clinging. He did tell me on the way to school that he wanted to learn spanish today and then proceeded to tell me hello and goodbye in spanish and german. I did tell him that it might not happen on the first day....

MummysLittleSunbeams · 13/09/2011 12:20

Yay well done Cupcake another little graduate on the cards!

VJay · 13/09/2011 12:09

I have heard of people that take a while to conceive first time then second time it happens quite quick. Smile

OP posts:
cupcakefairy · 13/09/2011 12:07

Oh and I meant to say louey I wasn't being patient...I just didn't think there was any way I could be! Grin Plus, I don't ovulate til around day 19 anyway. (Hence why I will be lying amending my LMP date to my GP)

cupcakefairy · 13/09/2011 12:05

Thanks :)....just honestly can't believe this happened from one night on holiday when it took me 6 months of dtd every other night mid cycle to conceive Jude...crazy.

VJay · 13/09/2011 11:57
