This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Thanks for the welcome Artoo, and the reassurance. Feeling happier about it now.
Following someone's recommendation I bought 3 preg tests from TK Diagnostics on Ebay - bargain price of £1.80 for 3.Received them in the post today but will have to wait to use them as only cd7.
Got down to some bd last night and much to DH's delight we're going to bd every other night for the next couple of weeks. My cons said for best sperm quality not to bd every night as it depletes the little tadpoles - every 2 days is best. She also said to not abstain for more than 7 days in a row.
Here's hoping that this month will be a lucky one.

I think that if you are very underweight it can make it harder when ttc.

eldestgirl · 29/06/2006 15:44

That's interesting about the weight issue. I stopped clomid last month after 4 unsuccessful cycles. Much to my surprise, my OPK said I ovulated by myself this month. I am about 8lbs heavier than normal, thanks to a long holiday back home. My BMI was 18.5 before which I have found out is underweight. It's now over 20. Am wondering whether I needed to be heavier to ovulate?

Artoo · 29/06/2006 06:59

Hiya Gelfling, and welcome.

I must have missed the messages from people about 5 or 6 ripening follicles, that sounds like an extreme reaction to clomid to me. For IVF treatment you certainly want plenty of follicles, but on clomid just one ripe juicy one is enough

I'm now on my fourth cycle of clomid, and I was scanned on my first three. Each time I only had one follicle, and the nurse was very pleased and said it was exactly what was required.

There's enough to stress about in this whole TTC lark, please don't stress about this. It sounds like you are responding fine to the clomid

Hugs,
Artoo.

Hello. Can I please join the gang?
Sorry for crashing but I'm new to all this ( the chat thing, not tcc ) and after lurking for weeks just got up the courage to do this.
I'm on cycle 3 of clomid but am a little worried. I had a scan on day 12 of my 1st cycle and the cons said I had one very ripe follicle
and that clomid was doing it's job so to speak, but after reading about some of you with 5 or 6 ripening follicles I'm feeling as if I've not
got the best of chances.
Glad to have found you all though.
Best of luck to everyone and lots of sparkly baby dust..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~~..~*~..

Rachee · 28/06/2006 17:38

lap and dye are no prob, had one three and a half weeks ago.... actuallt think they work just by pumping you up with air to start with! LOL like marigold gloves...unblocks the fingers just by blowing into them LOL. If you want to know anything just ask away...

I own my own business (hairdressing) so can't take time off either and go away, although tempting !

Everyone else keep trying

I am new to mumsnet but wanted to add my good luck wishes for everyone.

My dd is 4 years and 7 months old. DH and I had been trying for 5 years when referred to Hosp.

Told to lose weight then they'd give me Clomid. Lost some weight, but not enough. Then had HSG which showed no probs. Bloods showed not ovulating. Lose more weight. Saw Consult who said try and lose 4 pounds and ill give you the Clomid next month, oh and btw will do thyroid test. Go next month, lost 5lbs, was given clomid and told i had underactice thyroid. Put on meds for that as well and what do you know, fall on month 3 of clomid.

Rachee - my dd was one of twins, that i m/c (At 16 weeks).

Dont give up hope. Dont ever lose faith......

It can happen - It did for me.

Good luck

coggy · 27/06/2006 15:21

Natty1806 · 27/06/2006 11:58

Oh Rachee, that is terrible.

Like you say why can't it just be simple, think you have been through enough already.

Thoughts are with you.

Rachee · 27/06/2006 11:33

S**t, had scan this morning, and i haven't m/c properly yet, they found an egg in there, about 6 weeks old, so i still have to m/c that, prob was expecting twins and lost one already other hanging on in there, but they have said my blood levels aren't high enough so will m/c other. got to go back next week for another scan to see if sack has grown or died !!!

Why couldn't this have been easy.... now i am P***d off, oh and they have said i am in for some serious pain when i m/c the next sack because of already being tender and open for infection cause of the first m/c !!!!! chuff a duck......

xXx
( god knows what day i am on !! LOL)

coggy · 26/06/2006 19:18

That sounds like a good idea Rachee.
I have noticed that my AFs are pretty light and only last three days on clomid.
Wierd.

Rachee · 26/06/2006 17:12

This month i am having a month off clomid, because of m/c wanted to bleed properly and clomid i find gives me a lighter/shorter period. And wasn't told to take it, so have left it well alone. Scan tomorrow, just to ake sure all is well.( that will be day 6) Boobs have only just stopped hurting !!! LOL

clomid thread doesn't seem to be that busy at the moment, must be lots of sucsess out there...

good luck everyone, take care...

xXx

coggy · 24/06/2006 17:00

Hi Rachee (and everyone else of course!!)
Are you going to continue the clomid this month or go 'natural' again?

Interesting that you fell pg on a month off just like I did last time. It must stay in your body or have a culmunative (sp?) effect?

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/06/2006 15:47

Hugs again Rachee.

Artoo · 24/06/2006 14:42

hugs Rachee, so sorry to hear the news. But as you say, you have now been pregnant, hopefully your body now knows what to do and your next pregnancy will be soon and successful.

My best friend's first pregnancy ended in a m/c at 10 weeks, her second pregnancy was only a few months later, and resulted in a gorgeous, healthy baby girl (now 10 months old!).

Hugs,
Artoo.

Rachee · 22/06/2006 23:41

Thanx everyone xXx

Really doing fine, going scan on tuesday just to make sure it all gone, then doc has said - can get back on it again !!! LOL.

i am very glad it wasn't eptopic - having it removed would have been different, plus i knew it wasn't right, i lost the pg feeling 2 days before it happened, and the blood tests confirmed it was lost ( got results after the m/c LOL ), and i have now been pg..... i feel like i have graduated !!!!

Take care all, xXx
day 2

ShouldKnowByFriday · 22/06/2006 21:41

Hi Rachee. You sound okay, I hope you really are. When I miscarried I had the same attitude, ie at least its an early miscarriage, etc. Its still sad though and I hope you just keep going until you get preg again. Yes, it is very good news that you got pregnant.

Natty1806 · 21/06/2006 19:14

Your so good, like you say onwards and upwards.

Best of luck to you.x

Rachee · 21/06/2006 19:02

i am actually doing fine, just a bit of pain like period time, and of course bleeding, but mentally i am fine...... was only 5 weeks, in real terms thats about 18 days, so was just a blob, and i have now been PG !!! so there is positive out of this, and only 3% of miscarriages go on to have a second..... so

HERE'S TO NEXT MONTH, for us all....

xXx
day 1 again
