This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Thanks Rachee i will try and be patient.. you know how it is.

Rachee · 06/07/2006 18:32

natt, i went to docs in the june, he reffered me, first appointment Aug 04, thought was going to see doc, but was just a nurse, getting ALL the details she poss could, and i mean ALL. when i first started, first sex, pills , total history lesson ......Then i got to wait for next appoointment with doc, which was dec 04.... he put me on clomid straight away and booked me in for a lap and dye ( which takes six months to get to top of waiting list ).....the lap and dye worked for me ! clomid helped along the way.... it's just all a waiting game, you'll need patience.... LOL

xXx Good luck

Natty1806 · 06/07/2006 16:13

Sorry to be pain and keep asking question but just thought, if the first appointment is just a chat etc how long did you have to wait for your next appointment? It has taken 10 weeks to get the letter so by time i have my first appointment it will have been 16 weeks since my dr sent out the referal letter.

Natty1806 · 06/07/2006 15:20

Thanks coggy, can just imagine my Dp's face now he will be bright red .....thinking about it so will i - might have to tell him to wait outside.
LOL

coggy · 06/07/2006 15:06

Natty - mu first appointment was just a chat and given loads of bumpf!!

Had a shock when I had my first scan to check for folicles as no-one had actually told me it would be an internal.....DH shot out of the room!!! LOL!!!

Natty1806 · 06/07/2006 13:49

Sorry forgot to ask did they put you on clomid while you were waiting for the hsg? Or did you have to wait?

Natty1806 · 06/07/2006 13:47

Thanks Dizzy, i don't find smears too bad just a bit uncomfortable as they struggle sometimes to get that metal thing in to open me up (TMI - sorry )

Yeah, no children yet been trying a year now.

How about you?

dizzy36 · 06/07/2006 13:33

about as uncomfortable as a smear test. you get to see your uterus and ovaries tho and they can see straight away if anything wrong. for me, they thought they saw an inflammation on one of my tubes so had to have an hsg which is an x-ray using dye. turned out nothing wrong so stressed out for nothing but at least got to make sure my tubes are clear.

are you ttc your first?

Natty1806 · 06/07/2006 13:10

Thanks Dizzy

Have had the blood tests and sperm test so guess it is just the internal scan - does this hurt?

dizzy36 · 06/07/2006 12:51

Hi everyone, on my 4th month of chlomid (don't count the first as I think we missed the boat on that one). Not being monitored so relying on opk and temp chart. LH surge occurred day 13 but think I was still fertile last night (day 15) so not sure what happening. Had really bad cramps/achiness on day 14 that lasted most of the day..could be due to maturing follicles but who knows. temp went up slightly yesterday and stayed up this morning but still not sure if ovulated yet. have bd day 12,13,14,15 so hope thats enough as think dh needs a break! (might talk him into sneaking tonight in as well just to make sure)

The chlomid seems to have dried up my cm even though being on epo and grapefruit juice. Unusual thing was very 'lubricative' few days after after AF but couldn't have been ovulating then as was only day 6 to 8. If no cm is there still a chance of sperm getting there.

Can I ask how often you are bd-ing. my consultant says every other day should be fine but doesn't seem enough to me. I have read that if have normal sperm account then every day is fine.

natty - don't worry. ususally first appointment is a chat with a consultant and then if you haven't already, blood test and internal scan for you and sperm count check for him to check that everything in working order. After that would then discuss possible treatment.

Hi All

Was hoping you can help me, have finally got my appointment through from the nhs for my first fertility clinic appoinment.

Can you tell me what to expect please? Will it just be a chat? scans? internals?

Help, i have been waiting ages for this day and now it is here i am worried about what will happen.

It is not until the 31st July but would like to go in prepared.

Thanks

Oh Rachee, I was hoping it would be good news. I hope you are okay after all this. I think you took it all in your stride at the inital miscarriage so to go through having your hopes lifted again must be doubly painful. Hugs to you.

I am on day 26 of my 3rd clomid cycle. Had one follicle of 14mm on day 11 and on day 13 it measured 22mm so was given hcg jab. My day 11 scan was done by the cons who heads the unit and I asked him if we should increase dosage to which he disagreed as he said I am responding well to the 100mg. I told him that I have period-like pain prior to ovulation and mid cycle which concerned me and he had a good look around and said all looked fine. He said that because I do respond well to the clomid that it should work on either this cycle or the next but if it doesn't then it's on to the injectibles which he will recommend once my hormone levels are retested. Felt relieved to hear that there is a stronger option if the clomid doesn't work. He said the injectibles are better in that there are more follicles but the downside is that there is a higher risk of twins and the risks that go with a twin/multiples pregnancy.

Anyway, on day 26, not irritable as I have been with clomid but have the period like pain which I feel inevitably means that I am not preg this month. So had some chocolate this afternoon, quite alot in fact, but really felt like a treat. Feel quite sick now...!

Am psyched up for the injectibles challenge, I used to pass out with needles as a child/young adult, but now feel I have come a long way!

Last week I saw a mother who was pushing a pram with the car seat attachment and I just couldn't resist looking knowing that it was going to be tiny andwhen I looked it must have been about 2 weeks old. I wasn't envious of her but this pain just ripped through me which was quite a shock and was from the sheer longing to have another baby. This week I saw a woman with a toddler and a small baby in a bjorn borg carry thing and the baby was asleep facing the mother and had no neck support whatsoever and it looked as though it's neck was broken as it was sooo unsupported. I felt physically sick and just couldn't look. I know it was hot and all but isn't it common sense?

Gelfling · 05/07/2006 20:51

Piffle · 05/07/2006 14:43

Hi all, I know some of you already from other ttc threads
Today I had my ACU appt and was put on Clomid low dose for 3 mths.
Even though they think I am ovulating they sauid sometiems Clomid can kick start things a bit?
Am shocked as was expecting to eb told to go away relax and let it happen naturally
I am on cd 20 today so not to start until next cycle.
So I know nothign about Clomid eeeeeeks

Artoo · 05/07/2006 07:14

Rachee, really sorry to hear the news.

On the positive side, I have heard manay occasions of women getting pg quickly after m/c. It's as if the body now knows what to do, and can get on with it quicker. I really hope it works that way for you.

Hugs,
Artoo.

Natty1806 · 04/07/2006 20:37

Sorry to hear that.

Rachee · 04/07/2006 20:29

Well, not good, had scan and other egg is dead, mishaped and no bigger. They are going to let it happen naturally, but i was offered op or drugs.... said no, but may change my mind by next week if still the same. Been told they won't put me back on clomid for 2-3 months! and not try naturally in the mean time either, swear-word! all i want is to try again now....

Good luck everyone, i want some good news please

xXx

ShouldKnowByFriday · 04/07/2006 05:16
