This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Rachee - I'm glad you AF has come so you can start getting back to normal.

Will you begin clomid again next month? (Or perhaps you won't need it!!! )

Rachee · 03/08/2006 08:05

What day was your lap done on ? cd? ..... could the cd23 be late ov, as clomid can make you ov late... (so don't give up the bonking !!!)

I used to be on a 17-18 day cycle before clomid. now i get no worries to 28.... ov 17-23 !

As for me :-
( First day of first period following m/c of twins. D & C was two and a half weeks ago). Nurse did say on the last scan, before d&c, she could see folicles on left ovarie.....

I had forgotton what a normal period was like, as was on 100mgs clomid before lap just before getting pg. So i can now take another huge step forward

xXx
cd 1 ( no clomid this month following m/c)

Rachee, Ive already gone for it. Am now CD23 with serious af type cramps and headache, but my shortest af is 27 so Im not sure whats going on. Maybe the clomid and lap and dye worked????

good luck on Monday

Wow, thanks for money info..... my theory is lap and dyes work. they open up the tubes and allot seem to catch straight away after.... go for it.

Had a show this afternoon, think it might be day 1 tomorrow ! at last..... so excited now. Seeing consultant on Monday, which will be interesting....

xXx

DD1ofcolandgerry · 01/08/2006 22:24

Rachee,

those running costs of going private. We pay about £100 per consultation, £80 for ultra sound, the lap and dye test was £360(consultant fee) and £980 for being a day patient at a private hospital-I suppose this covers the private bedroom and the use of the operating theatre plus all their nurses. Thankfully BUPA(perk of DH work) paid for the lap and dye, and will also pay for our next few appointments as the consultant will put them through as follow up to the lap and dye. The clomid was regular NHS prescription cost.

Our consultant also does NHS work and he seems pretty decent as he said that once my NHS appointment comes up, he will be able to get me the other treatments quickly(if Im not already preggers!!)

I suppose its expensive enough, but I just couldnt have waited for the NHS!

if your cycle is 27/28 days and you ov on day 12, i would test day 28 at the earliest.....

( tiny toy poodle , by the way, forgot to say )

Rachee,

soooooooo cute. I also have a dog who's black too, not much bigger than yours, but age is catching up with her. She is starting to grow a grey beard which I dont think is ladylike, so Im constantly out with the clippers.!

Rachee... Your puppy is beauiful. Is it a mini poodle or something?

I have a 10 week old maltese puppy named Snowflake. Also have a 2y.o one named Alaska.

Dogs are great.

Natty1806 · 31/07/2006 11:10

How cute is that! What breed is it?

Thanks for the info on clomid, will report back once i have been, really hoping i don't have an internal not in the mood to be prodded and poked.

DD1ofcolandgerry · 31/07/2006 11:07

Rachee, good to see you are still about. Good luck on 7th

Natty, I started Clomid this cycle. Im now on CD21. My consultant started me on CD1 to CD5 100mg, but Ive heard of others starting CD2 or CD5. I think it depends on your consultant.

My cycles are usually 27/28 and the ovulation sticks showed positive on CD12. When is the earliest I could do a preg test???

Piccy of new pup arriving 2nd Sept.

Rachee · 31/07/2006 10:59

you start taking it on day 2 of cycle and then continue till day 6. Making 5 days in total. They will prob give you a 50mgs dose to start, then review it after 3 months, and it may well be upped to 100mgs. ( which is what most of us are on), Watch out for the HUGE mood swings, and i mean violent ! warn your DH, it's pmt multplied by oooooh , well, let me put it another way, i feel like i can't calm down and get very very hot. Not even with choccy !! xXx Have fun, it's worth it

Natty1806 · 30/07/2006 20:59

Hi rachee - hope your okay and can get back to trying soon.

What day do you take the first clonid tablet on? Will be on CD6 tomorrow and just thinking if they agree i can have clomid have i missed my chance this cycle to start it??

cindy88 · 30/07/2006 16:18

TO:Attilathemeerkat, Thank you for your responds.
I only ovulate max 4 times a year, the HMG medication injection helps my body produce follicles then when ready to ovulate they give me a medication through injection to release the eggs followed by IUI. I got my pregnancy back july 28 and it was Negitive. i just got back this morning from doctors appointment and because my body didn't know how to Cycle the medications helping my body understand the procedure, not to give up that my Second IUI is to follow August 8th so i'm crossing my fingers. I just wish i could talk with someone thats going through the same thing ( undergoing second IUI )with the same meds..

Rachee · 30/07/2006 12:21

p.s. Attila, can i just say thanks for all your advice.... thanks for caring ! xXx ( i think i speak for everyone)....

Rachee · 30/07/2006 12:20

Just wanted to say 'Hi', and i am still reading this section, next app on 7th aug with consultant.... the follow up to lap and dye (LOL) and the next app generally anyway. Waiting for cycle to restart following m/c of twins and d & c. Not back on clomid yet, waiting for first cycle for that 'pleasure' to be had again.... ( not missing it).... so in the meantime bought a puppy, arriving 2nd Sept, to take my mind off baby things and give me a new project.... LOL

Good luck everyone xXx

Not all women with PCOS show signs of insulin resistance. One of PCOS's many problems is that it is a very individualistic disorder.

Cindy88 - do you have a diagnosis of the underlying problem?. I would have to say that IUI is unlikely to work in the first month and that several attempts may be needed. What are they going to do in the event that IUI is unsuccessful.

cindy88 · 29/07/2006 19:47

hi everyone, I new here and excited that we can all chat about what we are all going through.
I'm going through my cycles reaching up the the date of my SECOND IUI, i was so sad when the first IUI didn't take. I try to read up on people that are going through the same thing as me but everyone i read are taking infertility medication called CLOMID but i'm not.. I had to order from the UK HMG injection medication then ended up getting HCM to ovulate and i would love to hear someone going through what i'm going through. Nothing here ( TORONTO, CANADA ) is covered on what i'm on so it's all cash deals for me. which i don't mind the cost but i'm sure everyone;s thinking the same this ( we are sending money, we want something to show for it) so every failed attempet we want to keep going. I just want to know if anyone got PREGNANT with the SECOND IUI procedure..

WantAbabyNOW · 27/07/2006 13:16

Hi there everyone,

I phoned the hospital today about metformin as was feeling really sick around lunch time. I am a teacher and have a kindy/year 1 class. I just felt like I could barely teach my lessons. The hospital said the nausea will wear off and that it is common.

Later on after school was having parent and teacher interview night and had to run from an interview as had to be sick... I was so embarassed. Fortunatly the school cleaner was there and didnt mind cleaning up while I finished up my interviews... then had another round later....

I guess this is just the beginning.... when we finally conceive will probably end up with morning sickness anyhow!

I am TTC and cycle monitoring ahs showed I am not ovulating. My Gynae (the truly wonderful Lesley regan who I am lucky enough to see privately) is sending mee off to do tests for insulin resistance and may then give me Metformin as well as Clomid. I think it is important to do the tests.

I'd be pretty leary of taking a drug for insulin-resistance w/o a firm diagnosis myself, Want, to be frank.

WantAbabyNOW · 26/07/2006 10:55

My friend has it too and she was diagnosed from an ultrasound.

I have no idea...

Have had my first full day of the metformin though and I felt sick all afternoon. Had to have a sleep!
