This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Went for test this morning feeling very preg and the nurse told me that I would have the results tonight!!!!!! So............ the consultant called me 5 mins ago and said they are very happy with my results as they are very good indeed and my current level is now 1851!!! Woweeee!! So he said the next step is a scan two weeks after getting a pos preg test which is this Monday. Will ring clinic and arrange one for Mon, Tue or Wed depending on when they can fit me in.

I can't tell you all how happy I am. My first month of clomid which is unbelievable! Fingers crossed for you all.

Jen1209 · 25/03/2006 17:20

Good Luck SKBF & Jodee. I have decided to make it 3 and test on Monday as I can't wait any longer! I will be exactly 2 weeks late at that point so seems like a good day and also by Tuesday I should have gathered my thoughts enough with either result to talk to the consultant

Hope you all have lovely weekends.

J x

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/03/2006 20:58

I would ring first thing on Monday morning as they will have sent off the sample today and would either have received the result last thing today or on Monday. If you ring on Monday morning they will tell you if it has been received and if not when it will be received. So we both get our results on Monday!!!!

Jodee · 24/03/2006 20:41

Glad you are feeling a little more optimistic, SKBF, good idea to try and focus on some other activity to take your mind off things.

No-one is going to ring me, I'm supposed to ring the hosp but on the info I've got it doesn't mention anything about it, so was wondering if Monday was too soonto call; bloodtest done first thing this morning. I would be gobsmacked if I was pg - the chances of ovulating and pg in the first month, things like that don't happen to me!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/03/2006 20:00

Hi Jodee. I resisted buying another test and instead did some baking with my children as it brings them lots of fun and joy, for me lots of mess but I think I should concentrate on the children I have already and make things fun for them despite feeling really irritable and short tempered which I never am. It is an agonising wait but I haven't started bleeding, not even a drop and I wouldn't be worried if I hadn't been told my hcg levels were low. They are 38.4 15 days post ov and 182 21 days post ov and according to webwomb.com (!) my levels are normal. WTF? Aplogies for swearing but you know. Anyway, now I am feeling optimistic.
It would be funny if you got preg with your first month on clomid as well!! I really hope so. When are your blood test results available and when did they say they would ring you?

Jodee · 24/03/2006 19:43

SKBF, it's agonising that you have to wait til Mon. Are you going to do another test tomorrow? Try and relax, hon!

Jen, hope it goes well for you on Tues.

I've just had my CD21 bloods today (first month of clomid) - does anyone know when i can ring up to find out the results? And pleeese tell me I'm imagining things and it's just wishful thinking but I am weeing a lot more and feeling hungry all the time (just had big dinner at 6.15, but had to have a banana just now as felt really empty). I won't build my hopes up, I wont I wont I wont!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/03/2006 19:18

How long is your cycle usually Jen. Its exciting if you are late.

Jen1209 · 24/03/2006 16:33

Oh SKBF - I can't believe you have to wait for Monday for your result - that's pants :(

Try to take comfort from that web site though.

I am on CD39 and just waiting for my drs apt on Tuesday. I think the symptoms I have are more pg than af (I hope) but am not doing anything until then. I have now been caffeine free for a whole week so am v pleased with myself!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/03/2006 15:54

Just been searching on google for hcg levels which i know is daft and I should just wait and see. Anyway, on webwomb.com (what a name!) my dpo hcg levels fall within their parameters so I am sitting here thinking "what is all the fuss about??". My levels are normal according to this site. Also lists the early preg symptoms and the peeing frequently I don't habe yet which worries me slightly but the irritability I do have. I am so irritable and I am never like this even when I have PMT. Now I am waffling...just wanna know...

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/03/2006 15:25

Hi relax and naditude. Relax it sounds like your egg has had maximum exposure so that's really increasing your chances of having a successful month. I was hopeless at gym too so I must say doing a shoulder stand was difficult but I was determined. Naditude, sounds good that you got a pos line on your opk. Now you just got to keep BDing.

Fingers crossed for you both!!

Trying to keep upbeat, v.difficult. A few very small cramps but no bleeding, feeling sick during/after coffee so ditching that from now on. Feel tired and now feeling the strain. Am having blood test tomorrow at 11.45am (sat) but won't get result until Monday 6.30pm. Might buy a preg test to do tomorrow to see how dark line it. Maybe there is no point. Just wondering how important hcg levels are.

Good luck!

relax · 24/03/2006 10:51

skbf - injection was at about 6am weds morning noticed ewcm at around 730 weds have bd ing sun eve weds eve and fri am (this am) did feel something stirring on left side weds eve and yest eve (sorry if tmi) found shoving legs up the wall and lifting bottom up was easier than shoulder stand i am too accident prone to chance it with that anymore i think !!!! almost broke my neck last time . i was never good at gymnastics at school . I have just got that book 'taking charge of your fertility' which i will get my nose into later to see if there are any tips.
How are you getting on skbf this must be an anxious time for you, blood test tomorrow isn't it ?

naditude · 23/03/2006 17:38

Relax, SKBF - I've just had to get DP to hoist my legs up into a shoulder type hand stand position! (TMI) Blush

Just had the pos line on the ov strip. So excited as its only day 18 so I won't be having a usual long cycle. (Or no cycle at all if we're lucky!!) Smile

ShouldKnowByFriday · 23/03/2006 17:37

Ooops. Meant to say that the follicles released at 10pm on the Tuesday night. Good luck

ShouldKnowByFriday · 23/03/2006 17:36

Thank you relax! When did you do the shoulder stand? The injection releases the egg within 36 hours I was told. I had mine on the monday at 12 noon, I had cm at 10pm monday night and at 10pm I felt a stirring in my right side where 2 ripe follicles were measured. So if you injected on Wednesday morn, you will release by this evening. Make up and get BDing. I am so pleased you are trying the shoulder stand. I really hope this month works for you. What dosage of Clomid are you taking, remind me.

relax · 23/03/2006 16:48

skbf - good luck for your blood test at the weekend . thinking of you xx
Had my scan on day 14 (mon) folicle too small for the injection so i had to do it myself on weds morning. thinking i may have missed the window of opportunity this month as me and dh had a bit of a fall out on tues night so no bd between sun and weds . going to try and be positive anyway .
Dh thought it was hilarious when he came back from the bathroom and i was doing a shoulderstand up the side of the bed and all he could see was 2 legs up in the air Blush !!!

eldestgirl · 23/03/2006 11:37

Whoops, last bit was meant for Persona thread! Sorry!

eldestgirl · 23/03/2006 11:36

SKBF, I have only posted once on this thread so far, but am thinking of you. I can only say that I am also one of those people whose pregnancy tests read negative until about day 35, and even until day 40, they are rather ambiguous, but they have resulted in two healthy babies. I am always told "late implantation", so maybe our babies don't get much hcg into our bloodstream to start with. Don't give up hope yet.
I am on CD21. I have got to wait until day 31 to see if I get AF, and then another few days of checking my knickers every 5 minutes as there is no point taking a test until day 35 at the earliest.

Clomid has not really altered the length of my cycle. However, Jen, before I started clomid, I had a 36 day cycle, which is long even for me. I wondered whether my anxiety at starting the clomid affected my AF. I didn't feel pregnant, but so wanted to avoid the clomid! In the end, it's wasn't so bad.

3catstoo, so sorry about AF. Maybe DH will have another alcoholic lapse at the right time again?

Jen1209 · 23/03/2006 11:23

I'm here! How are you doing SKBF? I'm quiet at the moment coz not at lot going on! Just waiting for either AF to arrive or Consultant appointment on Tuesday - whichever happens first! Am now on CD 38 so beginning to wonder what on earth is going on!

Hope everyone else is ok? Has anyone heard from Rachee?

ShouldKnowByFriday · 23/03/2006 10:22

Where is everybody? Have I depressed you all??!!

The last post is me getting dismal about my situation which just won't do.

Where are you all up to in your cycle this month and are any of you about to test? Still want to hear your anticipation and good news!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 22/03/2006 10:24

Actually, while my breasts are enormous and I am starting to feel sick (with worry?) I am not hopeful about the whole thing and just want the bleeding to start so I can get on with my next attempt at ttc. When I read about Mower's hcg levels on the anti natal thread, hers are so much higher than mine at the same stage of pregnancy that my levels look pathetic. Anyway, end of moan. Will go for blood test on Saturday unless I start bleeding earlier. Going to work today, will find it hard to smile. Sad

naditude · 21/03/2006 22:57

BeckiF - I'll check out my temp in the morning, hope the wine won't affect it! But will do strip again. Here's hoping! Smile

naditude · 21/03/2006 22:55

SKBF - It all sounds good! But like Bubbly 1973, don't want to raise hopes. Rootin for ya.

Loubie37 - hope you enjoyed your wine, I've even cut down on that in my bid for baby! But also had a few tonight. Lovely. Smile

bubbly1973 · 21/03/2006 22:47

skbf, i been thinking of you and even though i read your message earlier, i wasnt able to post as i had to tend to ds, and now im here to congratulate you ive just read your last message.

i dont know what to say, scared to get your hopes high, but dont want you to feel down either as your doctor has said they are rising.

for all you know this is how all your pg's start off like you said, so its a case of holding on tight and waiting to see what happens.

i hope its good news on the weekend, another lot of waiting for you though till then Sad

ShouldKnowByFriday · 21/03/2006 21:28

Thank you everybody for your kind messages. Was happy but then looked at americanpregnancy.org and read about hcg levels and while it says that scanning is more reliable than hcg levels, I put in the two results and the dates and it equalled 'half life' which is not good. So feeling gloomy again and reminding myself that the website says that low hcg levels can result in healthy pregs. I supposed when I embarked on this journey, I knew it wouldn't be easy. Didn't know what bloody hcg levels were before all this though!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 21/03/2006 21:25

Loubie, read your post, if you are considering going to a private clinic, why don't you do follicle tracking and possibly IUI there. The beauty of the dr seeing the follicle(s) is that you have continuous scanning and you can even have the follicle stimulating hormone to release the egg(s). It is all done in a very controlled way, you don't have to take your temp, look for cm, you have a dr telling you how large it it / they are and when!!! I wonder if doing the last 2 months of clomid under the supervision of a private clinic would be better for you? I don't want maybe answers, I want definite answers and to be shown my follicles on two different days and to see them grow was so reassuring even though they cannot tell if there is an egg inside. Yes you do have a lot to think about, and if you do start the adoption process of course you can sign that you won't try for a baby, but what can they do if you do get preg? If you have already adopted they can't remove the adopted baby/child, and if you are preg before the end of the adoption process, well you will have your own biological baby!! It is a well known phenomena that couples after trying for years who then adopt get preg! You could be one of those.
Good luck with your decisions. Add shoulder stands to your routine this month, you never know! Sorry to be so personal.
