This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Hello everybody. I haven't been around for a couple of days as I have had a couple of deadlines to concentrate on. Still no sign of bleeding and am going for blood test on Monday or Tuesday depending on childcare as kiddies off of nursery. Keep seeing preg women everywhere and if they are not preg they are pushing a newborn! Arghhh! But I wish them well as I was once in that position.

While the clinic made a huge mistake, the outcome is still the same which is a preg that isn't going anywhere. I do feel that I have put on weight with clomid, I started getting puffy just after I finished taking it and wonder if any of you feel the same. Just want to get rid of these enormous preg breasts!

I have decided not to go skiing as DP going with his elder children (not from me) and a couple of friends and it won't be a holiday where I will get alot of attention so I will stay in London with children and do lots of kiddy orientated things for them.

Jodee, sorry to read that you got AF. I was really hoping you wouldn't. Just keep going, don't give up. I take epo all month but I have heard somewhere that it can be taken until ov. It's up to you but the clomid dries out the area where we want the sperm to thrive so do take x3 500mg per day whether it is all cycle or just til ov for max effect. Good luck!

You know, reading one mum's bereavement/miscarriage thread on losing her baby Isaac and having to arrange his funeral who I think was 18 wks gestation made me cry. It also reinforces the fact that my egg didn't grow beyond 4mm and while I am sad I would not wish a late miscarriage on anybody. The heartbreak is just unimaginable.

Sending HUGS to everyone, esp. SKBF. Smile Hope there are lots of BFPs around in April.

AF started today, not a real big surprise, so cycle 2 of clomid starts tomorrow. I'm still hanging on to the hope that I will have another baby before I'm 40, it's cutting it fine!

Can I ask about EPO, this is recommended then up to ovulation - what should the dosage be?

And I am going to start with the OPKs this month, are there any particular brands that work better with clomid does anyone know?

Artoo · 31/03/2006 15:31

hugs SKBF, what a dreadful cock-up, I'm really sorry you've been messed around so much :( Enjoy the holiday - I hope you come back relaxes and refreshed and all ready to try again.

Thanks for the advice about the EPO - I'm actually taking a selection of herbal supplements recommended for women on clomid which includes EPO (up to OV only), so I think I'm covered on that front :)

Hugs,
Artoo.

eldestgirl · 30/03/2006 12:12

I know, I feel the same way SKBF. I have two lovely children, but I can't stop longing for another.
A holiday may be just what you need. Get away from it all!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 30/03/2006 10:15

Thank you Loubie and eldestgirl. I have everything I could possibly want in my life so I have alot to be grateful for and I regard this as a blip I am already over. I don't feel that life is being cruel, just testing to see if I really want a third baby or not. And I do, that is the only thing missing (and youth as I am now over 40!) so everything okay really, just more clomid, BDing, etc to get what I want. Went to bed at 9pm and slept through until 7am so feel really well rested after 3hrs sleep the night before. Might now go skiing during the easter break which I wouldn't have considered when I thought preg was okay.

Loubie37 · 30/03/2006 07:10

Can't believe life is being so cruel to you SKBF - it's bad enough having to go through a m/c without all this added to it. You're being unbelievably strong too, which is admirable. Really hoping that you get a BFP again soon x

eldestgirl · 30/03/2006 06:37

SKBF, I am so sorry. What a rollercoaster to have to go through. Huge amounts of sympathy.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 29/03/2006 20:24

Thank you BeckIf. I am okay actually, its better to know one way or the other and I did feel that it was too good to be true and then I got used to the idea but when the hcg levels were low that planted the see of doubt that all would go well. I was delighted on Sat/Sun when bloods came back very good but last night began to dread the scan when my fears were realised. I don't mind he miscarrying, it was being told that it is poss an ectopic and they wanted to send me to UCH straight away. That sort of hit me and I thought to myself "What sort of mess have I got myself into?". But levels going down so will start to bleed hopefully soon. I am actually okay and balanced about it and haven't cried. When the dr who was very distant told me his fears with an ectopic it sounded so bad. Miscarrying is much easier. I am okay really, of course disappointed but I won't give up. I am looking forward to getting rid of this very tired feeling!

BeckiF · 29/03/2006 19:40

SKBF - nothing I can say to make any sense or make you feel any better, so I just send a hug and wishes that next month you are lucky.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 29/03/2006 18:37

Typing this before DP home. Cons just called and said levels going down which are now 152 which is a good sign in that it is the body's way of preparing for a miscarriage. Even if there is an ectopic the fact that i don't have pain and the levels are going down it means that the body is going back to its normal state. If he saw the size of my bust, I am in no normal state!!! So he asked me if I can go for a blood test on Sunday but I said Monday or Saturday and he feels that Sat is too early so Monday will do. He did say though if I have any shooting pain or unusual pain in the centre above the pubic bone to call their emergency number straight away. I told him taht there was no way i was going to a & e and that I wanted the best man for the job if an ectopic preg is indeed about to rupture and he said they would then find the right man if and when it happens. But the fact that the levels are lowering means I am about to miscarry. So better to know what is really happening. I asked if there was any chance of getting a successful preg with Clomid after this and he said that we shouldn't give up as I have responded well so I am not going to. I had a bad feeling last night and I slept for a total of 3 hours as I suddenly dreaded this scan. Part of me is relieved that I now know that this is not going to result in a baby in November and I feel the worst is over and part of me is v disappionted but it is not the worst news in the world. I know somebody who is 32 and had breast cancer which has now spread to her pelvis and liver and her life insurance have paid out. That is seriously bad news, I will get over my bad news and try again.

Sprinkling baby dust to you all. Don't give up, I'm not going to. I have had a seriously laaarrrge glass of wine to drown my sorrows. I don't feel tearful, just want the bleeding to start.

Thank you for your kind messages.

PS Am starting my eve prim oil tonight to get that cm ready!!

Jodee · 29/03/2006 18:28

SKBF I can't believe it, am gutted for you. Sad What a complete cock up. Take care of yourself, I hope it isn't an ectopic. and enjoy that drink tonight, hon.

Becki and Artoo, good luck for your next cycles. Smile

and just to confirm, got my results and I have ov'd in my first cycle, was told the levels were 55.7 on CD21. am now on CD26, so i'm sure I will have af in a couple of days (got a headache, which is usually a sign for me). But very pleased to have ov'd and not have to double the dosage of clomid.

Thinking of you

ShouldKnowByFriday · 29/03/2006 14:48

Think I am going to have a large drink tonight, have been abstaining as levels went up... might even have two or three. Will also plan gorgeous summer wardrobe as it doens't look as though I will be blooming, so that's one advantage and also I won't be tired and hormonal and thats the second advantage!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 29/03/2006 14:46

I have a legal deadline which I am supposed to be getting on with and all I want to do is come to terms with what has happened instead of boring work. It's difficult to concentrate.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 29/03/2006 14:27

Back to bad news. I had scan, the snr registrar who had no bedside manner whatsoever looked and looked and looked. He saw something tiny, 4mm, which he said did nor correspond in size to my hcg level which was 1851. I also have some fluid near my ovary so then he worried about a poss ectopic preg and asked me all sorts of questions. Went to move my car while he double checked my saturday hcg level and he said the actual result was 185.1 and not 1851. So a real F* up. I told him though that as the hcg not increasing as it should prob meant that it is not a viable preg and he agreed. Before he got the real result though he was ready to refer me to uch for a blood test, scan, dye and scan and then laparoscopy (?) which I found depressing to say the least but now that the hcg levels are lower which corresponds to the yolk size of 4mm, there is less of a rush. I had another blood test while I was there and will ahve result tonight. He did say that if I feel unwell or feel dizzy and feint with pain that i must go straight away to the nearest a & e and tell them that i might have an ectopic preg.

I asked that the Hon consultant/Snr Lecturer to call me with the results(the same who rang on saturday) so I can fully discuss situ with him. I will also ask him if i do have an ectopic who is the best man to do the op as there is NO WAY I am turning up the nearest nhs hosp and taking such a risk. Anyway...

Still wishing you all baby dust though.....! God, I am so lucky to have 2 healthy gorgeous children that I feel like crying that i am not satisfied and that i want more. I feel huge, my breasts are enormous and heavy, I am tired and hormonal and am looking forward to either a D & C or a good old bleed. Never thought i would say that.

Sorry to be so depressing. Was told that ectopic pregs are a risk with any fertility treatment and not just clomid. But I think hey, life is a risk.

Jen1209 · 29/03/2006 08:41

Hi, thanks everyone for your congrats and hugs Artoo & Becki for your AF's arriving. Good Luck everyone for next month!

Sorry to hear you are feeling down, relax. It is so difficult to chill out about this ttc malarky esp when you have to keep having tests and taking pills. Hugs to you too.

Good Luck for those with blood tests soon. May you all have lovely ripe follicles & have ovulated well!

bubbly1973 · 28/03/2006 22:12

skbf just wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrows scan and that all is well which im sure it will be after that rocky start!!

enjoy the moment

xx

BeckiF · 28/03/2006 21:11

Hello all ... I was woken with terrible perio type pains at 4.30am today and have started spotting. So it looks like although we have not been blessed this month, it would appear that the Clomid did bring on an ovualtion, all be it on CD25, four days after my CD21 blood test! Everything crossed for next month!

relax · 28/03/2006 21:06

skbf-just wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrow at your scan hope all goes well.

beckif eldest girl good luck to you this month
jodee - hope your blood test came out ok
artoo- hope you get the 'big fat follie' you want (or two!!!)

am going for my blood test tomorrow so will know next week if my 4th lot of the monster pills have made me ovulate.
am getting a bit disheartened about all of this at the minute trying not to think about it too much but i cant help it. i am not feeling any different at all this month so am not holding out any hopes of things working .

lets hope we all get our bfp Grin

ShouldKnowByFriday · 28/03/2006 20:48

Hugs to you Artoo as AF arrived. I am pleased though that you will be scanned and you and the dr will know exactly what is going on inside and timing etc. Are you taking eve prim oil 500g x 3 per day? This makes more cm and clomid can dry one out and make vagina hostile and we don't want that do we. Please consider it and start taking straight away. I promise it makes a difference to cm. Can you also do a shoulder stand as well please. Am really keeping my fingers crossed for you this month.

Thank for your best wishes Jen. My scan is at 11.45 when I will be 6 + 2 days and hoping to see a heartbeat. Am feeling good about this pregnancy. Will go onto Nov thread after scan.
