So the last thread disappeared so here's the deal: I realised it's really annoying to drive yourself mad wondering if you're pg during the 2ww. Newbies welcome!

Are your boobies sore?!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 07/07/2011 20:57

Hi can i join?

havealittlefaithbaby linked me to this thread as i'm 8dpo and desperate to POAS. No symptoms really except frequent peeing! i went to the loo before a one hour car journey and had to stop twenty minutes in to go pee!! I do have an overactive bladder tho so could just be that Blush

LisaJayneS · 07/07/2011 15:32

Yes TOTALLY Ninja - I am EXACTLY the same. I have wondered exactly the same thing. We got pg 2nd mth of trying but miscarried, then 3rd mth of trying, but maybe we were just super lucky the first time round. I tend to discount the 1st pg because it ended in mc so it may not have been a 'proper' pg - I don't want to use it to make a pattern (iyswim).

But I often wonder what if we were just lucky last time - there is nothing obvious to prevent us from conceiving this time and of course we never checked it out last time because it happened quite quickly so maybe we were just lucky! And the same re the age and stuff - I'm obv older now (33 and DH 33 too) but I gave up work at Christmas, at most I've only worked part time because of DS so pretty hilled out, overall a bit healthier than last time and DH is slimmer than last time too so would like to understand what the prob is. As I think I said we have our 2nd appt at the clinic next Friday so they will hopefully be able to interpret our results for us - I am hoping that there is some sort of forward plan this time as I'm fed up of being in limbo. xx

NinjaChipmunk · 07/07/2011 15:16

yes he's 3 yrs 8 months. I'm the same, we wanted a smaller age gap (hence trying for 15 months) but i'm trying to make my peace with it. I've decided to be ultra healthy this month and eat loads of fruit and veg, take my multivits and get out and do a bit more exercise (or at least be out and about more). Hopefully positive thinking and actions will help!

I seem to spend a lot of time wondering about secondary infertility though. I mean, I got pg easily last time, but actually did i really and was it just a fluke? And although I'm older, I'm in a far less stressfull job and more settled at home than I was back then. I guess I want to be able to understand it but since we've yet to have our hosp appt I guess I won't know for a while. does that make sense?

LisaJayneS · 07/07/2011 15:08

I know - It's silly to worry about it cos it doesn't make any difference. Everyone knows someone with a small age gap who hasn't got on and someone with a big age gap who get on like a house on fire! Incidentally, me being thick, but does 3.8 mean 3yrs and 8mths? I assume so.....

In my head, before I knew we would have a problem, I wanted a 2-3 yr gap between them (which is blatantly not going to happen now) so I just need to get over it. It is totally my obsession. I look at people when we're out trying to work out their age gaps of their kids, and when you see celebs who are pregnant I'm working out their age gaps too - stupid obsession - too much time on my hands!!

My only thought is that I'm not that close to my sis and she is 7 yrs older, mind you she is also a bit mental so that might be part of it......

xx

NinjaChipmunk · 07/07/2011 15:02

I can see how phrasing that in the past tense would grate on your nerves a bit. I've just started saying 'when it happens' when people ask me. It seems to stop them asking anymore questions!
I worry about the age gap too. DS is 3.8 so if i got pregnant this month he's be 4 and a half when it arrived and I do worry about it. But equally a large part of me thinks thats daft too. If they get on it will be because of their personalities not neccessarily their ages!
Enjoy your brew Smile

How is everyone today? I've just come back from a nice lunch with my friend for her birthday - only one slight TTC based wobble while there. We were having lunch - me, my DS, my friend and her 2 children (one the same age as mine, one 6 mths) and her other friend - when her friend casually says 'Did you not want any more kids?' Errrrr........ Well.... Ummm.... we'll see????

I know she didn't mean anything by it obviously, but it makes me panic and I don't like lying (nor would she want to hear all the ins and outs of my TTC!!) And just something in the way she phrased it was so final - I think she used the past tense and it just made me feel like if I was going to have any more I should have jolly well had them by now :(

Our mutual friend knows my problems so no doubt she felt a bit funny too (she started TTC after us and now has this 6 mth old). I know I am completely over paranoid about the whole age gap thing (DS will be 3 in Sept) so I am fully aware this wobble is entirely in my head, but still feel a bit glum :( Bit early for Wine so think I'll make myself a nice Brew instead while DS has a nap - bit of TV and a cuppa might help :)

Hope everyone else is ok
Lisa xx

Don't worry Lisa I'm not shy about it! We've been ttc for 18 months no joy, I've had loads of bloods done. Basically I had my first gynae appt last Friday where the doc felt my progesterone levels were inaccurate, maybe done too late but its hard to catch it right because my cycles are irregular. They were 15, 20 and 25 before and 30 definitely indicates ovulation. However, I've been charting for 6 months and only had one where I couldn't see an ovulation pattern. It's all looking at if I've got pcos which the doc is skeptical about. Repeat bloods and pelvic ultrasound will give me an indication.
Thanks ninja. I know about the progesterone but not sure what else they checkef tbh!

NinjaChipmunk · 07/07/2011 10:59

faithbaby hope you get the readings you want. Is this so they can confirm if you are actually ovulating ?

LisaJayneS · 07/07/2011 08:47

Faithbaby - how come you're having to do blood tests? Sorry for being nosey - tell me to butt out if I am :) xx

havealittlefaithbaby · 07/07/2011 08:11

More bloods today trying to get progesterone level at right time. but fed up with it but not as grumpy as Monday! I think I'm going to get a better reading today, here's hoping anyway!

havealittlefaithbaby · 06/07/2011 22:45

queenrollo my vote is pirates (argh) or retro like Benny and Joon.

havealittlefaithbaby · 06/07/2011 22:44

Cd19 either 11 or 13 dpo! So FF says af due week on Sunday but that would be my longest cycle since coming off the pill!

queenrollo · 06/07/2011 22:33

well i do have rather a lot of Johnny Depp films....

NinjaChipmunk · 06/07/2011 22:18

choose something with someone you can drool over, esp as dp is not here.

queenrollo · 06/07/2011 22:12

I've cheered up now, it helps to be able to come in here and ramble on.

I may head up to bed with a mug of Horlicks and the laptop to watch a DVD. Now to choose one.....

NinjaChipmunk · 06/07/2011 22:03

best to get them done as you can then otherwise you'll be waiting ages. I'm only on day 3, need to gear up for the shagging marathon once again.

queenrollo · 06/07/2011 21:59

i'm on day 15 so not so long to wait. I'll have day 2 bloods done in my next cycle, because i am too impatient to wait to get them both done in the same cycle.
I'll be away on day 21 next cycle, will hardly be here at all in august so it would be Sept before I managed it.

NinjaChipmunk · 06/07/2011 21:56

what day are you on now, do you have long to wait? And yes, would drive me round the twist.

waiting for a new hosp appt is driving me round the twist. They have till the 15th to give me a new date. I'm sure it would be much quicker all round if there was no 'nhs choose and book'. I could neither choose nor book when I called them!

havealittlefaithbaby · 06/07/2011 21:53

www.google.co.uk/#q=pregnant+breasts+pencil+poking

queenrollo · 06/07/2011 21:52

Grin i'm certainly not daft enough to google that without a safe search on....

I've been googling hormonal imbalance....

What I need to do is just stop wondering an wait for my blood tests.

But right now i'm having an impatient strop. I think for me at the moment it's the waiting that I hate. I can't just go and have a test done tomorrow, i have to wait for day 21......and that is so frustrating.

NinjaChipmunk · 06/07/2011 21:42

why not just google 'unusual boobs' and see what comes up? Grin

havealittlefaithbaby · 06/07/2011 21:40

I was tempted to Google "pregnant breasts feel like poked with pencil'....

NinjaChipmunk · 06/07/2011 21:33

what have you googled?

queenrollo · 06/07/2011 21:30

boooorrrreeddd

i am so bored without DH here to laugh at. I know i'll be in bed late because I can never get off to sleep when he's not here.

i've been googling. I shouldn't google.....
