Hi Pooger, come and join us on the 40+ttc (knocked up) thread?

Pooger · 11/12/2016 21:33

Hi need a bit of emotional support here. I am 43 and trying to conceive a third child. We have been trying on and off for the best part of 2.5 years I think. Initially we were not trying seriously i.e. Leaving contraception but not increasing frequency of improving timing. I fell pregnant last year June unexpectetly and miscarried. We then stopped for a few months until about xmas last year. I had another miscarriage three months ago but that was a very early one. I have now decided to use ovulation sticks and to find out exactly when I am supposed to be ovulating. I have been monitoring my cycle for the past ten months and it is all over the place. It has never been very regualr but now it seems to vary between 23 and 32 days. Am I kidding myself here or is there still hope?

I go away for a week and look what happens....

Many congratulations both

Marina · 29/11/2005 12:50

OMG, Arabica, fantastic news! VERY pleased for you all Best of luck.

Prettybird · 29/11/2005 12:49

Congratulations Arabica!

There's hope for us all!

motherinferior · 28/11/2005 19:10

Ah, but she's got three. Two is a doddle.

Arabica · 28/11/2005 18:48

I was with a mate who has 3 kids today, aged 5 months, nearly 3, and 5, & what with the constant demands for boob, wipes, loo, nappy change etc etc, it took her 1hr 30min to eat her jacket potato!

Dodsey · 28/11/2005 12:01

Well back from my break & with usual good timing started my period.

I do really want a 3rd baby but I can also see the positives about sticking with 2 if that's the way fate wants it. For one thing my Mum would not be so willing to take 3 kids when me & DH decide to head off overnight somewhere.

Also my sisters live at the other side of the world so long haul flights are easier with a ratio of 1 child to each adult!
