tina am still bleeding and it has got heavier. Odd timing for first AF, but I think it is. Still, if the next cycle is a sensible length it means that I get to do IVf earlier than I thought I would so I'll still be on sick leave and won't have work stress to contend with. Bit worried about only having a 4 day luteal phase but am putting it down to being the WTF cycle rather than worrying about it. On the plus side, I thought I'd have AF on holiday and it should be over by then so am trying to think Grin rather than :(

izzy thanks for the positivity re: the IVF and I'm expecting all of you to be crossing everything possible that it works. Grin I think the only reason I'm staying strong right now is that I have a small chance of being pg before the twins' due date. I'll fall apart if it doesn't happen.

MissTinaTeaspoon · 24/06/2011 21:55

tomboy I got a bfn just over 2 weeks later. It could be that the hospital test just wasn't very sensitive and the one you used was. It might take a few weeks for the hcg to completely leave your system, or it could be that there's a tiny piece of tissue left that the scan missed. I would go back to your gp and see what they suggest.

mouse your birthday plans sound lovely. We were in centerparcs for mine but I was pg so couldn't use the spa/spapool or drink...make the most of it!

dachs your consultant sounds lovely! Are you still bleeding or did it stop?

TomboyWife · 24/06/2011 21:41

How long post-mc do most people get a BFN?

Given the timing I know the vastly more likely explanation is hcg still hanging around from the miscarriage. I had a scan 3 days post-mc that confirmed a completely empty womb and I stopped bleeding after about a week, so retained products seem very unlikely.

mousebacon · 24/06/2011 21:26

Oh yes izz that sounds good. I fully intend to enjoy myself!

Just need to write another 7 more reports, work another 4 weeks then it's another line in the sand after this academic year ready to do it all again in september Grin

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 24/06/2011 21:16

tomboywife welcome, although obviously I'm sorry you find yourself here Sad. Sorry you're having confusing hpts - I don't want to put a downer on things but it seems early to get a new bfp? Maybe try another test in a couple of days and see if the line's got lighter or darker? Fx it is good news but always best to be careful after mc...

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 24/06/2011 21:13

Happy birthday digi !!! Grin Grin

mouse yay for ov confirmed - your birthday treat sounds lovely Smile. I had a last glorious drunken night out with my sister just before my birthday this year - was about 5dpo and got my bfp a week later. Did feel guilty but it didn't seem to do too much harm!

dachs that's lovely re your dr - although I don't think there's anyone who's ever "met" you who won't be desperately crossing everything for you on that cycle Smile

mousebacon · 24/06/2011 20:32

Happy birthday digi! Hope you've had a great day Smile

My temp went up this morning so think that's ov confirmed - yay!

I'm off to a ponsy swanky spa hotel for said birthday and fully intend to make use of treatments/sauna/jacuzzi and fizz Grin

tomboywife I'd hate to be the voice of doom but if you read a little of my experiences in the last few months you'll see why I wouldn't advise ttc on WTF. Also if there's any suggestion you're worried about retained products go to your practice nurse and get blood hcg taken. You really need to know if this is a new pg or not and sooner rather than later. I hope it's all fine and you get the bfp you're looking for xx

TomboyWife · 24/06/2011 19:57

Evening ladies,

Wondering if I can join the thread. I miscarried at 9+5 two weeks ago today and we've decided to flaunt medical advice and TTC on the WTF cycle.

I went to the EPU three days after the miscarriage and they did a urine test which came back negative (though the blood test they then did was positive). Scan confirmed a complete miscarriage and they were sure nothing was left behind. I decided, for my own peace of mind, to POAS last night so I could see a BFN for myself. Instead I got a faint positive.

To complicate things, I think I ovulated overnight on Monday. I got a tiny bit of bleeding on about Wednesday, and yesterday I started having faint pg symptoms again. I know it's way too early for pg symptoms and massively too early for a new pregnancy to be turning tests positive, but I'm mystified as to why a negative 3 days post-mc would turn positive again 13 days post-mc. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Velvetcu · 24/06/2011 17:07

Happy birthday digital GrinGrin

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 24/06/2011 10:11

happy birthday digi

and yay for the :) mouse What are you planning for your birthday? I threw DH a surprise party for his 3-0 which turned out to be a bad idea given that we moved house a week before it so we were still in a bit of a mess!

I went to see my lovely obstetrician yesterday for a check up. When we said we were going to do IVF again and we wanted him to be our doc again he teared up. It was v sweet. He wants me to have a baby as much as I do! I think I'll be v carefully monitored if I ever manage to get pg again.

We've been back to the IVF clinic and filled in all the consent forms again and had all the bloods taken again to prove that we don't have anything like hepatitis or HIV, so we're all set to go when my next cycle decides to show up. Which I thought would be the beginning of August, but if this bleeding is AF showing up then it is more likely to be some time in July - so I might be able to do the IVF while I'm still signed off sick and not have the work stress factor to take into account Grin

MissTinaTeaspoon · 24/06/2011 07:59

Happy birthday digi! Smile

Have a great weekend knitter and I hope the bloods go ok. When do you get the results?

mouse Grin to Smile on opk! Enjoy some rest before all the exercise next month Wink

Glad the lines are getting darker stitch Grin

Waves to everyone x

Happy Birthday digi Grin and Happy Ov day mouse Grin Grin

Izz no I dont have a UK license. I use to live in central London, so there never seemed much point in driving. I did have lessons a few years ago, but basically I am starting from scratch. I am going to try and enjoy it anyway, and try not to think about the very scary road accident statistics out here in Costa Rica Hmm

Dach sorry to hear your cycles arent behaving, but I think things can be a bit wonky for a while without necessarily indicating any kind of problem. Have you had more blood since? If so, it could be that your still flushing out a few bits and cycles wont properly resume until you have had at least 20 days of no bleeding. Do keep your eye out for any signs of infection, (smelly discharge, fever, abdominal pain) and insist on some antibiotics if you are at all worried about it. If it was just a one off gush, it could be ov related, in which case you wont have very long until proper AF. Fingers crossed its because of that.

It's the best decade! I'm going to be 33 in an hour and a half...

mousebacon · 23/06/2011 22:01

Next month...aaaggh!!!!

I reckon we'll be ttc just before my birthday (if my body behaves) but if we do hit lucky first time (unlikely for me as you know) I'll have had all my birthday related fun by the time I know anything about it.

digitalgirl · 23/06/2011 21:49

Yay to a not ridiculously long cycle mouse! And I'm very impressed at your resistance. Very sensible after everything you've been through. When's the Big Three Oh?

mousebacon · 23/06/2011 20:49

Hi ladies Smile

Got my positive OPK today (and another just now Blush ) so AF due 1st week of July then I'm we're back on the wagon! Woohoo!

It seems so weird to let another egg go to waste but it really is best for my poor old uterus if I have this rest (and I can still enjoy the big 3 - 0 in a few weeks time!)

Ah, the end to this nightmare is nigh...

waves to all [lazy]

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 23/06/2011 12:39

Sorry you're feeling rough mummya but hurray!! for passing the theory test Grin. I assume you have to take a practical next - any idea when you'll do that? Do you already have a uk licence or are you starting from scratch with it all?

knitter and dachs sorry your bodies are not playing fair...Sad dachs 3 weeks does seem an awfully short cycle but as Tina says it's anything goes after mc or childbirth, sometimes it takes a while for things to settle down again! It's very frustrating though.

knitter hope you get some answers soon and get off to enjoy yourself at glasto Envy. Sorry you've not been able to do the blood tests - fx it's for a good reason. I vote for the cb digi tomorrow and take it from there - and I know you must be panicking re possible ectopic but bleeding/spotting is not always bad news; I had spotting in all pgs, and had a proper af in early pg with ds and things were fine. There can be a happy ending!

stitch yay to the darkening lines! Grin

aandr I cringed just reading "mammogram" - ouch! are you through with tests for now?

KnitterNotTwitter · 23/06/2011 12:37

AF update... spotting that seemed to stop last night has (finally) turned into a trickle so i'm counting this as CD1... Someone over on recurrant buns has said that I'll be fine to do my blood tests tomorrow so I'm back to Plan A!!

stitchinline · 23/06/2011 11:49

well the tests are getting stronger each day so feeling quite hopeful. doc rang this morning and have to go in tomorrow to have a blood test so they can check the level of anti-co is enough,

oh knitter how confusing, i hope you get to glasto ok and have a great time and that everything is OK,

congrats mummya on the test :o - boo to the cold though

dachs that is also very confusing for you, sorry I have no clues to help you

waves to Aandr, freezing, izzy, loup, battery and everyone else

KnitterNotTwitter · 23/06/2011 11:40

Dachs This month (first since WTF) I spotted when I ov'd ... never do that normally! I think it's just your body being somewhat confused about what is going on - your hormones are going to be all over the place sadly. After my ectopic I had 2 lots of bleeding before I had a proper period..... I just took it as my body having a good clean out...and then discovering some dust behind the sofa and having to clean that out too....

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 23/06/2011 11:22

tina yep - had BFN for at least a week before the +ve opk

knitter I hope your body sorts itself out properly soon. Enjoy Glasto if you make it down there :)

MissTinaTeaspoon · 23/06/2011 10:35

Another thought for dachs - have you had a bfn since losing the babies? Opks can pick up hcg too so could you still have some in your system?

Sad knitter sorry your body's not co operating!

I worked last night and tucked myself into bed only to remember that my car was booked in for an mot! Luckily the garage is only across the road! Thing is after getting up again I can't sleep! I need to be up by 12 to fetch dd so I'm going to be a wreck this afternoon!
