manda don?t worry I am ok talking about it. She had a huge ovarian cyst which was cancerous, she had a total hysterectomy with removal of the cyst. They removed cancer spots from her bowel but have found cancer spots on her liver, lungs and diaphragm. So basically everywhere Sad I spoke to her on Friday night and she sounded very upbeat. I am just keeping everything crossed that the chemo works. (but am having to be realistic too Sad Sad ) Thanks for the PMA everyone

Anyway onto happy topics Smile

manda sounds to me like you are OVing ? that is how I always feel when I am, I get the ?twang? and the EWCM and it is all systems go! Oh and also, just take your printout to the GP, they need a kick up the ass every now and again Wink

missG are you a Geordie? Hmm we all used to say ?well jel? at school ALL the time!

Loving pie?s ?me? post Grin true mentalling at its best! Can just imagine Pie pouncing on DH shouting ?we cant miss the egg?! Grin

shimmery pray tell me how does one ?entice DH with purchases???? Hmm I have to hide purchases from DH and then exclaim ?oh but I have had that for aaaaages?. He always rolls his eyes at me when I have purchased then goes off to order some geeky gadget for £150!

whatso Trafford Centre?? That would be of the Manchester variety no? you live near me; you live near me; you live near meeeeeeee (I am in Altrincham Smile ).

as if I would shout at you Smile but YY the CB digi is the only way forward (can you guess I have had so many WTF experiences with ICs). And yes you are mentalling, my boobs were up and down for weeks with DS. I actually think it is a good thing if your IL?s know you are PG. Yes they will fuss but what if (and that is a mahoosive ?what if?) something happens, you might just need them there for you (even if it is just for a bit of mild mentalling). It is ultimately up to you though. I know what you mean ? I hate fussing. But your DH sounds lovely Smile

Well we SWI last night (BEFORE the apprentice whatso . I am on CD15 today and 5DPO (short cycles) and we SWI on CD8, CD9, CD11 and CD14. When we were at it last night the cat came in to sit on the end of the bed (remember I told you he was there when we conceived DS!!!). I started getting all excited going ?yes yes it is gonna happen this month woohoo? DH was completely Hmm and weirded out (but then he knows what I am like so was having a bit of a laugh!!) Grin

So I am officially on the 2WW. Can I join you all in the padded cell?

Waves to Eve, blue and anyone I have missed. Trying to get a quick(!) post in before work!

ShimmeryPixie · 18/07/2011 09:31

Boobs going back to normal is not bad, it's apparently normal. As is acting like things are not happening - given the circumstances it's exactly what I would be doing too. Everyone here knows that 12 weeks is what we need to get to before we can really calm down enough to tell others - and you are being very sensible.

Sucks that your DH is away for the week, but we'll keep you company until he returns :)

InsomniaQueen · 18/07/2011 08:17

Morning all - after my last post thought I would come back and update you with the goings here and see how everyone else is doing!!!

Well the nurse at the EPU obviously didn't even look at the system, got a letter in the post for scan on Saturday morning - booked in for 27th so going to save the private one for me and DH so he can see the baby (if all goes well before he goes away).

summer so sorry to hear about your friend. I defo think you said the right thing. All your help and support will help her deal with treatment which can be hellish at times.....sending you lots of positive thoughts for you and her and her family. Really great about your part time - DH asked last night if I was going to do part time (I have the higher income) I was expecting him to be bit wary but he is fully for it and said "whatever makes you happy darling".....I think the pg is going to his head somewhat but I won't complain!!! Hope you had a really good weekend!!

eve super congratulations on the dress size reduction - that is amazing!!! How the heck did you do it??? What is your secret woman???

blue you seem to have been a shopping queen this weekend.....I admire your stamina!!!

Manda good plan for the thyroid and the dr.....can't let them railroad you!!!

MissG thanks for the PMA....feeling good today so just counting down the days until the scan - just hope everything works out for everyone here and we can have lots of victory dances over the next few months!!

pie on the OV front I'm sure I OV'd earlier the post MC cycle.....normally get a positive on CD17 so started testing CD 15 and only got faint lines which got fainter - was trying to keep up with my chart and see how MC had affected my cycle - only to find myself BFP.....can't really say how it happened but I'm sure I was reading some where that the cycles post MC for 6 months are more fertile.

whatsoever I wouldnt worry about SWI - you have to chill at times during this crazy roller coaster we call conception. Plus now that you waited your DH has had a night off and so have his "little men" hopefully they will all be prepared for the task at hand Grin

shimmery hot rowers....I like your style!!! Welcome to the 2WW.....you can sit with me and marathon in the padded cell if you like.....seems to help I think!!! shall be keeping it all crossed for you and all the 2WW ladies, all those SWI should all be coming into that over the next week or so I think as you all had AF around the same time!!!

marathon how are you doing? Mentalling on and off?? Anything fun over the weekend?

Ok just had to POAS (CB digi before you shout summer) now on 2 - 3 weeks so despite not knowing dates i think I'm a week behind marathon, also I'm 100% sure that were further on than last time so over the moon about that if nothing else. Have had sore boobs, insomnia and freaky dreams for the past week, suddenly boobs have gone back to normal - is this bad??? Probably mentalling but I really thought these things were supposed to get worse over the next weeks not better.....someone tell me I'm insane and to just get back in my padded cell!!!

DH and I fell out last night....he wants to tell his parents before he goes away about pg but I'm still bricking it that something will happen between scan before he goes and 12 weeks....I know I'm being mental but I almost feel like it will jinx it. He could see I was getting upset so just said I should do what makes me happy....which after I calmed down made me feel really bad!! I just dont know what to do - I know that they will be massively fussing once they know and he goes away....I'm the kind of person who likes to just get on with things...them coming around and fussing would make me even more mental. At the moment I'm just acting like it's not happening and trying my hardest to put it to the back of my mind. What do you all think???

On a different note - DHis out in a field (literally) all week - without mobile which sucks like hell but he gave me 3 different numbers to get him on if I need him. The last thing he said this morning after goodbye and I love you was "look after my baby".....bit in Shock as we have taken the "try to avoid discussing this" tack....was strange but wonderful!!!!

Right better get off to work otherwise I will be late and be in trouble!!! Hope you all have a great monday.

Xxx

whatsoever · 17/07/2011 22:27

Hi all. Busy weekend - house stuff shopping at the Trafford Centre on Saturday (never again when sales are on!), Sheffield to our friends for dinner in the evening and random house stuff, papers and an hour's run tonight.

Terrible thing to admit but we've watched the Apprentice followed by You're Hired instead of SWI tonight Blush. Back to it tomorrow before DH heads off to London for three nights.

BlueCrane · 17/07/2011 21:12

Evening all...been a busy weekend and can't believe it's 9pm Sunday evening already...sooo much left to do and a busy week ahead too...guess I'm not going to get it all done really...ho hum!!

Been a bit distracted from the mentalling this weekend but still no sign of AF and no EWCM anymore (well not for a few days now) but I have been rather emotional and PMTy so will still just have to wait and see...

Will check in properly tomorrow as must crack on with my to-do list again...

ShimmeryPixie · 17/07/2011 11:46

And, of course, good vibes to those with BFPs

ShimmeryPixie · 17/07/2011 11:44

Hi all

Tried to see HP7 yesterday but failed to book in advance and so the next available showing was 2 hours away (and I'm not that patient). Ended up going shopping instead, before enticing DH with my purchases...

Today starts the 2ww for definite. I'm pretty sure that ovulation was Friday - day 15 (damn that lack of sleep) but I think the dtd on 12, 13,14, and 16 should have covered it. The lack of sleep was worth it though - my work do had olympic team members and former members as guests, and I got to meet James Cracknell (and several very, very attractive rowers).

Pie - if you had the OPK positive yesterday, I think that means you still get today tomorrow and maybe tuesday to dtd? Is your DP's surfing a whole-weekend thing?

Blue - how's the mentalling?

Summer - so sorry about your friend. It sounds like you said the right thing.

Hi to everyone else. Especially those with OPKs.

InsomniaQueen · 16/07/2011 22:04

Just wrote a really long post - with personal message for everyone and then it was swallowed by MN....Angry!!!!

Will be back tomorrow as I am so annoyed I dont wanna miss anyone - hope you're all having a good weekend so far....can't believe Sunday is already here.....that means Monday is hot on it's heels!!!

Xxx

PieMistress · 16/07/2011 19:22

Quick 'hi it's saturday night and i'm home alone cause DP has gone surfing with his mate in the torrential rain, so having a pizza!'

Sorry for a me post - but, I normally ovulate on CD17 (well I did pre DS, and post DS) but this is my first cycle post m/c and i've got a positive OPK on CD12 ?!!

GRRRRRR! We haven't really been SWI as I figured I still had a couple of days yet so not sure WTF is going on! We did DTD at lunchtime today though (following mahhoosive row - maybe something is in the air!) and there is no way it will happen again tonight after surfing so I am going to have to pounce on him tomorrow night and hope I haven't missed the egg. BUT, I haven't really noticed any EWCM and I usually get it so there's a chance the OPK is wrong

Hope everybody else is having a great Saturday night, sorry again for me me me post but i'm now very confused!

MandaHugNKiss · 16/07/2011 16:29

Oh, and I took your advice missg - bases covered. Although, ew, I wasn't thinking of Gerard Butler Being a lady, I thought of England.

MandaHugNKiss · 16/07/2011 16:21

Uh, missG aren't we here to tone down/soothe the mentallers, rather than encourage them?!

But you are correct, of course!

I've been thinking, I don't think that hcg has to return to zero (or there abouts) in order for one to ovulate as I've read hcg is used as a trigger when women are doing iui cycles. So it's used to INDUCE ovulation?! Therefore, I would assume that once hcg is lowish, a new cycle is able to begin, even without a true bfn, and so in theory you could pretty much O at any point during the WTF cycle. Or not. It's not called WTF for nuffink y'know? Grin

Missgiraffe1 · 16/07/2011 16:12

Blue, have just read over your last post properly. You never know! As I'm sure you have, I've heard of people getting pg straight away. So, when I say:

"FX you're there v soon." (ooops, earlier misuse of 'your' Blush)

I obviously mean one of 2 thngs: AF arriving OR you joining the Marathon/IQ camp with a BFP! Smile.

Just to add to to your mentalling......

Missgiraffe1 · 16/07/2011 13:25

Summer, so sorry to hear about your friend. It's not easy knowing exactly what to do or say in such an awful situation, but I being positive is definitely the best option. It would do her no good for people around her to start acting as if it's all over already. Here's some seriously strong PMA for ya Smile

Marathon, good to hear its all going well so far. You are in my PMA thoughts every day, as is IQ. And I am gping to polityle refuse your crunchie, as the french cheese bread and wine diet has done nothing for my waist line! Ah, bugger it, I'll take one afterall. I am still on my hols (technically, don't go back to work til Tues), make it a kingsize Wink

Blue, sounds as though your WTF cycle may be nearing the end? I hope so. For comparison, I took 4 weeks 3 days after ERPC to get my BFN, then a further 2 weeks 5/6 (memory terrible) days until AF arrived. A day or two before AF arrived, I was imaginary symptom spotting: didn't know if I was spotting Ov or pg symptoms right enough, just mentalled about every little twinge or pain I felt. I had this twingey feeling, so decided it was either a) implantation (insanity had stepped in by that time) or b) Ov. As AF arrived a couple of days later, assume it was just AF related cramp. Dammit! But, also not dammit too, as AF arrived and I felt I knew where I was at least. FX your there v soon.

Manda I'm going to be straight with you: just forgive DP - temporarily even - and get down to it, or close your eyes and pretend he's gerard butler Grin. Don't waste time woman! As I now consider myself to be CD12, and have been having been having lots of SWI, I am almost in the 2ww. EEEEEEEEEEK! Preparing for more mad mentalling, and I need you to to join me!!

Hi Pie, Shimmery Eve Whatso Poppy and anyone else I've missed. Still haven't found the time to read through all the goss from the past week and a bit! My, you ladies know how to talk! Smile

Picked my DD up from airport this morning. Am so happy to have her back. 16 days is a long time to be separted! And she is sooooo tanned. Am wel jel . I came home from france even whiter than I left!

MandaHugNKiss · 16/07/2011 12:31

Oh, and forgot to mention, gp thinks (as I did, but wanted to be sure) my lump is a blocked duct. And I had blood taken to check my thyroid. Although nice guidelines say fsh should be below 2 when ttc, she said 'if it's above 4 we'll keep an eye on it and if over 10 then treatment is needed' which I was Hmm about but decided I wouldn't say anything until I have the result so that I don't look like a pushy know it all. Safe to say that if it's over TWO I shall be producing a printout of the guidelines and reminding her I'm ttc!

MandaHugNKiss · 16/07/2011 12:19

Oh, summer what sad news re: your friend. Is it too much for me to ask what type of cancer it is? Some have much better outcomes than than others. Really hoping that with the right, agressive treatment and lots of PMA/lovesupport your friend can pull through this.

Perhaps if you're going ahead with the bbq can I suggest a sowester and galoshes? absolutely chucking it down here. It is summer, after all... Hmm

blue I got a vip invite to the sale... Didn't bother taking them up on it though! I can't be arsed trawling through everything online when I get distracted so often by DS2. Hope you managed to get some good stuff that won't have to be returned!

So. Potter. Is soooo good. Almost cried three times (DD did cry three times!). Even though I read the book (I think in two days, from the day it was released) I haven't revisited it since, and had forgotten a load of stuff (that actually came back to me once I saw it). I don't want to give away any spoilers but my favourite 'line' from the book was in there so I was chuffed Grin. Looking forward to buying it on bluray as I can't imagine I'll get to the cinema 3+ times like I have done for the others (from PoA but not for DHpt1 )

CD13 today. Feeling a bit twangy around my left ovary (which is the one that usually seems to do all the work, I think my right ovary took early retirement!). COnsidering O was cd20 last month, I don't know whether it's a fake out! I'm pissed off at DP too, so if I wanna cover my bases, I'll have to get over that first. Bah!

Summerbird73 · 16/07/2011 10:50

thank you blue lots of PMA in the Summerbird camp!

and Envy to you with your saturday morning lie ins! we were up at 6.45am this morn Angry still i have only just got out of the shower! Grin

have a good weekend everyone, might not check in until tomorrow night as got a busy one Smile

BlueCrane · 16/07/2011 09:07

Hmm Next online sale shopping completed...far too much ordered, guess a lot of it will end up going back as won't fit etc but worth a try when it's on offer...am all sleepy again though so think I may go back to bed...this being one of the good things about not having any DCs yet...saturday lie-ins still exist...though I would happily trade them in for a little one!

Hope the weather is better with you all than it is here - grey and dreary! Probably no BBQ today summer but hope you manage the wine instead!

pie I may have had ov symptoms, lots of EWCM a week or so ago but they could just be WTF cycle symptoms instead Confused

marathon hope you have a great time at Centre Parcs! I love the pools and spa there

missg, whatso, manda, shimmery, eve, IQ how are you all today?

Right...time to top up my sleep methinks...catch you all later on!

BlueCrane · 16/07/2011 08:19

summer I am so so sorry to hear about your friend...I think your response was great...a good challenge for the PMA all around and great to show your friend that you are with her and will support her through what's likely to be a rough time ahead as she goes for treatment etc! Great news about your work though and yes to synchronised mentalling!

I was v emotional again last night but had a good chat and cuddle with DH - feel as though I've hardly seen him all week 'cos of his new shifts which probably hasn't helped either. Will go back to bed for a snuggle bit later (he's still fast asleep) I just snook out of bed early to see if I couls have a look at the Next sale online...in a queuing system though!! ooh...looks as though i'm at the front now...catch up in a bit!

Summerbird73 · 15/07/2011 21:38

Hey sorry i didnt get a chance to catch up.

piemistress and eve we were hoping for a BBQ this weekend as my sister, other sister and her boyf are coming to stay, we hoped for a little belated birthday celebration for DS. Ah well we will just have to celebrate with Wine when he goes to bed! Wink

IQ am not surprised about the crapness re the NHS scan, they really dont give a shit what you have been through it is all about money Sad but at least you can go private which is an absolute must if you can do it.

eve can i just stand up and give you a round of applause for getting from a size 22 to 16 - you little minx! Wink well done - how d'you do it? glad you and DH have made up. Honestly - rows over DCs are the 'norm'

blue hows about some synchronised mentalling? eh eh? can i join you? i have still got the sharp pain in my side which only usually lasts a day Hmm

marathon i totally agree with you re the scan, i would prob ask for one circa 10 weeks as i had my MC at 9-10 weeks, so at least i would know that it is sticking [fingers crossed] and yay for your 5 week old bubba!! Smile

shimmery you is livin' on the edge lady -love it! Grin

I have had a good news v bad news day. Good news is that HR have approved my part time request and it is from 1 August - yayy! But sadly my friend has told me her cancer is stage 1V Sad my response was 'well they have got a lot of work to do so had better get on with it' i think that was the right response Hmm what do you say? (FTR Stage 1V is the worst kind)

waves to manda missg and Blush anyone i have missed!

PieMistress · 15/07/2011 16:00

Hi Peeps!

Nearly home-time - whoop whoop! And a forecast of heavy rain for the weekend, GRRRRR! It's still blue skies out of the office window so hoping it lasts a bit longer!

eve good news about the BFN, it's such a relief when it arrives isn't it. Mine took ages (nearly 6 weeks). We didn't wait for AF to arrive before trying again (the EPU said because of my age not to waste any time - mmmm, no pressure then!)

summer - the SMEP doesn't involve temps but it does involve OPKs? I get mine super cheap from Amazon, think you get about 10 for £2.50 or something.

blue have you noticed any ov symptoms? My AF arrived about 2.5 weeks after my BFN, I thought it would be 4 weeks (based on what i've read) but it was much earlier for me.

marathon - which Center Parcs are you going to? We are toying with the one in the Lakes for the end of October.

manda - how did it go with the GP today?

Happy positive bump vibes to IQ and marathon, happy 2ww symptom spotting, getting WTF cycles sorted out and SWI to the rest of us! Fingers crossed this is a lucky thread! XX

Waves, and big hellos to everybody else! 15 mins till home time so had better tidy up and do a bit of work (and chow down on an iced bun!)

InsomniaQueen · 15/07/2011 13:44

Hi all,

Firstly must apologise for causing confusion - I'm having an early scan not a viability scan. The private Dr will check for anything else that can be seen but has warned me that 'the real stuff'' probably hasnt started to happen yet. Which I accept - I just want to know dates and make sure that something is "actually happening" inside there and it isnt all in my head!!! Not sure who said it but yeah i know its the internal one, had one done before so not too worried about that.

Have been having a frustrating day so far!!! Rang the Dr.s to see if they had made any progress with my 'urgent dating scan' - was told they had no idea and to ring the unit. Rang the unit only to be told that it would take 10 days to 2 weeks for my referal to get into the system and then would maybe take another week for an appointment to come through....apparently they are 'snowed under' and way behind on appointments. I explained my concerns to the lady and was basically told that I had no choice but to wait as I wasnt experiencing any pain or bleeding...Angry!!!!

On a nice note - have decided that if I like the private Dr I will go back with DH before he goes away so that we can see the baby (if it gets that far) - should be about 7/8 weeks so hopefully will see heartbeat ect so he can at least enjoy that one!!!

eve34 · 15/07/2011 12:31

ARHHHHHHHH post just got ate by MN. Knew I should of copy and pasted it!! any way.

Summer - do so work :-)

Blue - fingers crossed you never know. I came off the pill in the middle of march and was Pg 2 weeks later without really trying v hard Lets hope we see lots more BFP all round.

MM and IQ. You are doing so well. i can't imagine how you must be feeling. We all hope for our BFP then the worrying begins. Got everything crossed for you both for the next 36 weeks :-) enjoy centre parcs. Which one you going too?

Shimmery - glad you enjoyed the party - pants about the lack of sleep. I am getting old and I am rubbish on less that 9 hours - and I think I another baby is a good idea!!!!

Manda - hope you all enjoyed harry potter - you will have to report back and let us know what you thought of it.

IQ - hope you are feeling ok. Keep the water levels up.

DP has apologies for his out burst - still feeling hurt that he felt it ok to shout at me like that. We had some terrible time a couple of yers ago and it was just like that. We all have our moments though and he has said sorry several times so need to move on.

On the plus side we got a BFN this week - so can get back to DTT. Although I don't much fancy it really. Not sure if I sould wait for AF and then be sure. We were never confident with the last pg as I got pg stright away once stopping the pill. no AF.

I have also got a dress for my sister wedding in Sept. I could wait another 6 weeks and diet a bit more but it was in the sales. I wanted to get down to size 14, but got into 16. I was 22 at the beginning of the year so am happy with that. Enough of my waffle.

Hope everyone has a great weekend we have a BBQ in the forest on Sunday with DP work - fingers crossed for the weather.

Summerbird73 · 15/07/2011 10:57

right i have loads to catch up on you lot here but am gonna be back at lunchtime - my director walked behind me before when i was on MN so i am shitting myself being a bit more discreet. but i can come on when on lunch so catch you all in a bit!

decaff Brew niiiice

BlueCrane · 15/07/2011 10:48

Yeah...that's good news marathon Smile just keep going one day at a time and slowly the weeks will pass until you can have that scan!

For me, I'm assuming it's the WTF cycle with odd wonderings of it being something else but not getting any real hopes up at all as I don't think we DTD enough to have any chance at all...timing would be incredible if it has! Also whilst it's now 5 weeks since ERPC it's only 1.5weeks since bfn so it is unlikely...but will do a little mentalling to get in practice for next cycle Grin

MarathonMama · 15/07/2011 10:03

Oh and ladies it's 5 weeks today so definitely not a chemical pregnancy Grin
