Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

See here for the old thread.

Baby 1 has reduced fluid. Cervix open. Waiting for my obstetrician to get here. Will be on strict bed rest forever. Not looking good.

Wombat33 · 16/05/2011 10:47

Big hugs Dachs it sounds a bit like the bleed I had at about 18+4? FX it's nothing sinister but I'm so sorry you're having the worry, it's horrid. Hope your silence means you're off somewhere getting scanned xxx

Morning all and good luck to other scanees today!

LaraMi · 16/05/2011 10:24

Morning All....

Big hug and a squeeze for Dachs - thinking of you. Hoping all is okay - as the other ladies have said, there are a zillion things it could be. I hope you're getting it checked out as we speak.

A warm welcome to all the newbies. So happy to see the new "faces" and also fab to see the list getting longer.

Feel positively sick this AM (to my stomach with nerves) for scan on Weds. DH just sent me the 12 week scan photos from a colleague that just announced her pg. I couldn't bring myself to open them in case I don't get pics like that when I go for my scan on Weds.

owlbooty · 16/05/2011 10:19

Sending big hugs to Dachs - I know quite a few other people who have random unexplained bleeds about the time you are now and Tigger is right, it is most likely that it is just one of these rather than anything more sinister - am keeping everything crossed for you lovely xxx

cep · 16/05/2011 10:19

dachs hope you're ok.

rue hiya did i miss that announcement on the mc thread?? congratulations hon, i'm thrilled for you.

collie i know you said this the other day, so sorry for the late reply. There's no point me getting one it would cause too much friction. even though it would settle my mind dh really doesn't want me to have one. I'm really frustrated cause i know i'll get fobbed off when i talk to him about being worried.

Dachs- call up antenatal or go to a walk in - St mary's fertility has a scanning bit which will probably let you in if you walk up there and burst into tears.

It could be just one of those things (body remembering it's around period time). The least likely thing is mc now. Remember you have DCDA twins which are the lowest risk variety. The chances are that everything is fine but get a scan asap to set your mind at rest and find out if you need to be on bed rest.

Good luck and thinking of you.

Reallyusefulengine · 16/05/2011 09:37

Thanks Harassed for the welcome. Believe me, I would love to punch her for getting it wrong. Am pissed off that she didn't know the basics, she kept grinning too. An absolute utter cow. Am sorry you are mentalling too but good to meet someone in the same boat. As fortunate as I feel to be pregnant again I think an AF would have been good as a marker, or as closure of the m/c.

I am very good at mentalling Grin.

dooscooby · 16/05/2011 09:33

Just a quick msg from phone to send a massive hug to dachs, I really hope that youre getting scanned and reassured right now and that the little ones are just fine x

harassedinherpants · 16/05/2011 09:28

Welcome Really.....I'm in the same boat as you 7+5 weeks prg 7+5 after mc. Also had a mmc in Jan but had an af that one. It makes it doubly worrying if you ask me as you haven't got over your loss yet. Much mentalling here!! Sounds like you've had a rough ride already, how on earth can they let someone so incompetent scan you.....unbelieveable!

Reallyusefulengine · 16/05/2011 09:24

Hello ladies,

May I join you on this thread? I'm over on the Ibiza thread on the m/c board but recognise some of you ladies (and congratulations to you all!).

I m/c 8 weeks ago after a suspected ectopic which turned out to be in the right place after all but not growing properly. Am now updiffed without an AF so my gynaecologist doesn't know for sure how far gone I am. I went for a private scan on Tuesday and the radiographer freaked the hell out of me and told me it was another blighted ovum. She doesn't usually do pregnancy scans so was referring to a photocopied chart [hmmm].

It turned out, after consulting Dr Google, that she had got her measurements wrong and I had another scan on Friday with a different clinic. They think I'm 5/6 weeks and they saw a heartbeat Smile. Am so relieved but am still freaking out like crazy. Am so pissed off about the initial radiographer telling me it wasn't viable Angry.

It feels really surreal as I only stopped bleeding 6 weeks ago, so to be 6 weeks pregnant feels particularly bizarre.

Would you mind if I stayed and bit my nails in the corner?

Dachs Am thinking of you, I hope you can get this checked out today.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 09:22

Btw dachs just a though but it could be cervical erosion? Apparently that can cause extra sensitivity/bleeding but you might not be aware of it. Apparently I've had it for a while but would never have known if the nurse hadn't mentioned it at my last smear.

CollieandPup · 16/05/2011 09:20

Sorry for double post, phone crashed!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 09:19

Just seen your last post updiffed - oh yay, congrats!!! Grin. Am so pleased to see you here! I know this has been a long time coming for you and it's been a rocky road at times, so it's just lovely to see you with a bfp xx

harassed thanks - 12 weeks doesn't feel much different tbh, but that might be because I got to 16 last time so haven't quite passed my psychological danger point yet. However, I know that the further I get the more hopeful it is and I think if today goes ok it will feel like we're over the next (but not the last!) hurdle.

I think there's a few of you scanning on weds...will be keeping fx for lots of good news.

Welcome also to anyone else I've missed whilst at MILs this weekend - great to see new people joining the list too, keep 'em coming!

CollieandPup · 16/05/2011 09:18

Oh no bloody he'll dachs you must be so worried. Ring epu or get yourself to a&e. I have everything crossed for you, hoping all will be ok. Thinking of you today.

izzy great news finding the hb. It's so reassuring isn't it. Iveas freaking out on Saturday, but found a hb, and feel Ive got a vit of new strength to get me through weds scan.

Welcome updiffed and congrats.

Well dove Hadrian for adding yourself to the list

soooo lovely to have you on here!!! Count from the first day of your last AF.

Shattered today. Worked Saturday so feeling sorry for myself after a one day weekend. But to cheer myself up yesterday I bought a pair of I love mummy and I love daddy grows from gap!!!! Sooooo cute!!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 09:13

dachs I'm hoping you've spoken to someone by now? If not please ring/go to hospital daycare asap. I still think it's hopeful - I had a gush of red once and it was fine - but terrifying - and I know others have had varying types of bleeding and it's been ok. However you need a scan before you go mad. Thinking of you, lovely xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 16/05/2011 09:11

Quick thought dacha where's your placenta? If it's low lying that could be the cause?

PinkFondantFancy · 16/05/2011 09:08

dacha can your ob see you today? Really hope all is well. I am keeping everything tightly crossed for you xx

harassedinherpants · 16/05/2011 09:08

Oh Dachs you must be beside yourself. Have you phoned anyone? Go to A&E if you get nowhere soon. Thinking of you x

Good luck for today Izzy! How does 12 weeks feel?

Welcome to the newbies, sorry you have to be here and hope your stay is boring and uneventful.

Not much from me, lots of pre-scan (Wed) mentalling going on. Worried there won't be a hb etc.... Still got lots of symptoms, but I thought everything was ok with the mmc. Hate feeling like this, want to enjoy my pregnancy.

CollieandPup · 16/05/2011 09:07
