Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

See here for the old thread.

Hi piglet congratulations on your BFP! I think it's impossible to avoid the knicker checking, I think if you've had a MC it becomes a compulsive habit.....

dachs I will be lurking on here all day for news. I'm sorry you had a bad night, but it is fantastic news that your temperature's not up. I agree with nix, can they give you antibiotics now to prevent an infection? I really really hope today brings you the good news you so deserve. Send our love and thoughts to your DH too.

hairy you poor thing, I went through a phase of having grim nightmares too-I think the hormones make them worse. Is it worth trying something like going for a walk just before bed so that hopefully you sleep a bit deeper?

banana good luck for tomorrow's scan. Freaking out the day before a scan is completely normal-I'm sure you haven't hurt the baby as you hear about people that didn't realise they were pregnant until 20+ weeks and were taking all sorts of drugs in the meantime. I think most of them just say don't take while pregnant because they can't do clinical trials on pregnant women. My blood thinning injections even say don't take in pregnancy which is pretty weird given they were prescribed to help the pregnancy!!!

Wow just scrolled down, harassed that is an amazing story!!!! My best suggestion for your clothing crisis is the linen maternity trousers from JoJo Mamam Bebe-they've got a huge stretchy waistband and have fitted me since about 12 weeks when normal clothes were uncomfortable but didn't have any kind of bump.

silver sorry you're having a stressy time.

Dachs - you were the first person I thought about before I went to sleep and the first person I thought of when I woke up. Wishing you all the best for today.

We didn't do an updated list yesterday as I think we were all preoccupied but I thought I'd take the plunge and update it for today. I hope I've done it right. Dachs - hoping that in writing the list as usual it will bring you good luck for the day. Izzy - you said you were two days behind so I hope I've listed you correctly. De-lurking to say thinking of you and hoping you get some good news today.

I've been lurking becuase I'm finding to many things to freak myself about. Am 21 weeks, all going well (i'm having id twins for all the newbies) - now convincing myself that they will get TTTS for absolutley no reason at all!

Harrassed - bump bands got me through the first about 18 weeks - wear your normal trousers / jeans undone with the band over the top to keep them up and keep you looking decent - works a treat. I'm a size 14-16 pre pregnancy too and have only just got maternity trousers - hideously ugly but oh so comfortable!

CaribouMoo · 17/05/2011 09:18

Just checking for news from Dachs - glad to hear your temps are stable and pups still well. Everything crossed for more good news later x

harassedinherpants · 17/05/2011 09:08

Banana people have taken far worse things and all been ok Grin! I have a friend who had a kidney transplant 10yrs ago so takes a mega cocktail of steroids. She was told she couldn't get prg so when her tummy bloated up didn't think much of it.....until it got bigger and bigger. Docs didn't have a clue so treated for an ulcer. Then a nurse happened to have feel....... 3 days later she had a c-section at 36 weeks Grin. The little one is perfect! True story....

harassedinherpants · 17/05/2011 09:05

Morning,

Dachs sorry you didn't sleep well, but glad to hear you don't have a temps and pups are still in situ. You're being so brave, much love to you and dh.

Izzy glad the scan went well.

Hairy I have loads of symptoms and still freaking out too. Nights are def the worst. I have a scan tomorrow and I'll be past my danger time with all mc's by then......

Welcome to all the newbies!!

Can I ask something really trivial?! I'm having a clothes crisis....... I not small by any stretch of the imagination. I was a 14 in Jan before mmc & mc, but am now more of a 16 and really struggling for clothes. It's far too early for mat clothes, and I just couldn't yet iykwim. Any ideas?? Getting fed up with leggings and the weather doesn't seem right for maxi dresses. Or is it?? Can I get away with ballet pumps???

Like I said trivial.....but I'm sat here with my jeans button undone, zip half done and a big belt holding everything up/in!!! Plus a long top..... Sexy??? Oh yes!!

banana87 · 17/05/2011 09:03

Dachs Thinking of you and praying everything turns out ok. You poor thing. Will be keeping an eye out for your updates.

Welcome to all the newbies!

NT scan tomorrow and I am bricking it. I have been forced to take a few migane pills in the last 2 weeks so convinced thats had a bad effect :( In other news, my SIL just found out she's 3 weeks behind me!

CollieandPup · 17/05/2011 08:43

lily it's def normal to want to poas imo. I have a stash of about 10-12 sticks (which I still have) Blush plus 2 cbdigis!! glad all is going ok for you. How far do you think you are?

welcome to the newbies who joined yesterday.

hairy glad your symptoms are back.

izzy so glad the scan went well x

pigletmania good to see you here.

nickstermum · 17/05/2011 07:18

Morning Dachs... like the others have said. no temp is good news (will they pump you full of abs to prevent infection now?) and great that the little one has stayed put overnight. I truly hope there is something the docs can suggest or do xxx You are very much in my thoughts right now x

brokenbarrenbrook · 17/05/2011 06:55

Just popped in to see if there was any news from dachs. Sorry you didn't sleep well but great news to hear no temperature and that the babies are still in there. Thinking of you today and sending you all the luck and love I can muster x

randomimposter · 17/05/2011 06:50

thinking of Dachs today xx

batteryhen · 17/05/2011 06:40

dachs It is a good sign that your temp is not up, so thats one positive thing to think of, and excellent news that the pups are still in there. :) Hope your news continues to get better today xxx

DoubleDiffedDachs · 17/05/2011 06:10

Morning all. Didn't sleep very well (even though they gave me a sleeping pill) but at least I didn't lose a baby overnight. Don't have a high temp either, so it doesn't look like infection has set in yet. Doc will be in to se me between 11 and 12 I think, so I'll update you then.

IreneHeron · 16/05/2011 23:00

Night night Dachs, hope you get good rest tonight and good news tomorrow. [hand squeeze and hair stroke].

Congrats Piglet, welcome to the thread. I too had 2 years ttc, well done on the BFP!

pigletmania · 16/05/2011 22:26

OOOOh just the thread for me, I have a BFP last week, prior to that 2 MC and one gorgeous and happy healthy dd aged 4. Its taken 2 years of ttc2, yes I am constantly knicker checking, fat lot of good that did me for my last MC, still lost the baby Sad. Going to relax and just take each day as it comes.

nickstermum · 16/05/2011 22:26

Logged in just to see whether there was an update from you dachs. I hope you manage to get sone rest and forget about thread hijack. X everything crossed and you are very much in my thoughts still. X

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/05/2011 22:15

dachs please don't feel you've hijacked, that's what we're here for. Please post as much or as little as you need. We're all here for you - you, dh and the pups are in my thoughts and prayers tonight xx

collie thanks for asking, the NT scan went really well, but it just never seemed a good time to post. I've gone back 2 days but this ties in with my late ov. I'll update me next time the list comes up.

randomimposter · 16/05/2011 22:05

Dachs I hope you manage to get some rest - you must be emotionally exhausted after the day you've had.

Your message sounds so brave but you must be desperately worried and sad. I'm so sorry you have all this to deal with. I don't "know" you well but you seem such a lovely person. I'm thinking of you and praying (yes, for the first time for a while, hope licence not expired) that your situation improves.

Much love x
