Freak out room for those newly updiffed after mc - Part VI

Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Is it Daisy who lives on a farm? Can we rustle up a muck spreader to go and pay a visit to the insurance company headquarters? Could even take a detour and visit Banana 's hospital. Grin

Hello Laylasmummy - those things are evil; do not trust them :) I never had proper morning sickness so don't trust that either!

Thinking of you today Dachs. Hoping there is still plenty of fluid abound to hold the twins in for 8 more weeks at least. Shame on BUPA, I think they need to outed publically if they don't clean up their act and realize this is an emergency. I remember when I had my first mmc, they wouldn't cover the ERPC because it "wasn't an emergency". We ended up paying for it. :(

I have complained via email and don't plan to hear anything back but will be writing a more formal complaint letter today and copying the Fetal Medicene Centre who support them.

Hi Laylasmummy congrats on the BFP and nice to see you here. Understand the mentalling but I'm sure you already know the sickness etc. is unlikely to appear for at least a couple of weeks. x

hi everybody im just de lurking to say good luck to dachs ive been reading and keeping everything crossed for you, what an awful time for the insurance company to start acting the t!a*,
i thought this thread was lovely as i know some of you from other threads, im about 4+4 and totally bricking it after 2 mc august and jan, no morning sickness yet so im stupidly mentalling and dont get me started on those cb digis! anyone who has done a conception indicator did it go to 3+ when it was supposed to?

Bump just let your doc know your diffed and they'll contact you re booking in apt and your scans but I had to chase mine; you should be booked in by 10-12 weeks to see your MW and you should have your 12 week scan between 12 - 14 weeks, they'll write to you.

Dachs glad the twins are still in situ this morning. I'm sending lots of luck to Mr Dachs for battling with BUPA today. New name no.2 is a slight improvement on the first one. Huge hugs coming your way - try to stay positive if you can - they're little fighters! xxx

Dachs that's a bit better....... I'm praying those pups hang on in there. My dd's middle name is also Sophia and she's very pig headed tenacious.....I hope it's the name!!!

Bump I'm not sure how your system would work, My own has changed in the 5 yrs since I had dd! Why don't you give the gp's surgery a ring and ask the receptionist, they normally know everything Grin

I can't believe your insurance company, what a load of bollocks. I really hope you get it sorted, but you'd better warn them that if they don't change their mind pronto, they'll have 20+ hormonal mentalling women to contend with!

Dachs glad to hear those little ones are still fighting and hanging in there. Hope the doctor provides some reassurance this morning that they are still ok despite the fluid leak and that BUPA see some sense. I am so so angry at them for you Angry. I can't imagine how hard it must be but you need to stay strong like those two little pups as the last couple of days have shown that they don't want to go anywhere.

Morning to everyone else. Feeling ridiculously tired today as was up twice in the night in pain. Looked at my back this morning where I have been lying on a really hot hot water bottle to get rid of the pain and it is in such a state. I've actually burnt the skin..oops.

Just a quick question - so my doctor has referred me to my hospital of choice and now I think I am waiting to be sent an appointment etc. Do they give me the number of a MW and tell me how to book in?

Scared to death for scan this pm. Prodded boobs madly and I'm sure they are still sore, not got up yet so don't feel sick but had strong hunger again this morning. Had no sleep, DD up all night with ear ache so no sleep brain making it worse.

Collie campervan sounds really cool!

Banana I would also complain about the scan, disgusting treatment whether you've paid privately or not!

Hairy well done for leaving the tests behindGrin

Dachs I cannot believe everything you are having to go through as if you've not got enough to think about with the insurance company sticking the boot in, I hope they come round and you can concentrate on looking after your beautiful babies. I love the name of your babies, strong and traditional and I pray that everything turns out okay. (don't like new name Sad)

I'm feeling a bit odd today, quite sick and really really tearful. Could really do with not being in work today, but am. All I want to do is be at home with dh and dd....... flaming hormones!!

I had my booking in appointment yesterday afternoon, and that was ok. Mw is very nice and has told me to phone any time and I can have extra appointments if I want to.

Dachs - what a pile of bureaucratic bollox. I hate insurance companies - they seem to find every way possible not to pay out. Thank goodness you've got three days to sort yourself out during which time, I am hopeful it will be resolved. Until then please reast and don't stress. You WILL be a mummy and Alexander and Felicia are tough little cookies.

Hairy - don't be tempted to do any more POASing! Throw them away!

Hadrian - how did your car end up near a flight of steps? Please tell us all....

Banana - hope you're feeling less upset re. the hospital - don't worry and remember every hospital has a different process.

Minnie - brilliant news on the scan... Did we hear from all the scanners yesterday?

This morning started with a big old puke (right after I told DH how pleased I was that nausea seemed to have stopped). Reason for it? We were out of hot chocolate powder so I had to have banana.

Just told work I'm pg and that I can't go to Dubai (work trip) on Sun - waiting for sh*t to hit the fan... But hey, it's not my problem!

Oh Dachs no, I don't like it. Can't imagine how you must be feeling, and why you've changed names. You are never far from my thoughts. I didn't get a chance to post much yesterday, but I love the names you have chosen. I hope the insurance company changes it's mind soon, and that you have a boringly uneventful day x

Hadrian poor you your ordeal sounds terrible!!! I can understand your embarrassement but you'll see the funny side eventually I promise. Especially as noone was hurt! Read back over the end of the last thread, if you want to read about my equally embarrasing car crash 2 years ago!!!! Sonething to do with it rolling down the hill!!! Humiliating at the time. I laugh hard now though Smile

sorry if I've missed anything else. Yesteday eas a busy day!!

Right got to go. Boiler man due to hopefully fix our boiler and bring heating and hot water back to my house!! ...I really need to clean up, place is a mess!!!

dachs OMG I an truely shocked what insensitive bastards (sorry v Angry ) I can't actually believe you're going through this on top of everything else! very good of your dh 's company to pay for a few days. I hope you resolve it with the ins company soon, it's literally like something dreadful you'd hear in a court in a movie!! I hope you managed to get sone rest last night and the pups are still fighting strong. Will be lurking throughout the day for more updates.

banana I too am Angry for you at the service you got. Your experience sounds very much like my scan yesterday but mine was nhs and I don't really think it's acceptable we have to put up with such a shity service from them, but we do. But getting that when paying private for extra reassuraces is not on! Complain, definately. And copy as many people in as possible.

wiw yes my bloods are to give me a more detailed risk asssessment for downs. The nt scan results I had were done privately 2 weeks ago and I got 1:10,000 the sonograher there said she didn't think we needed the bloods with such a good result, and I was happy not to but dh wanted them... So we did. The 2 week wait will be for the combined risk I assume.

Yesterday was a busy day for us. Started to tell people after the scan which is v scary!!! Only really told my very close friends abd family, I'm thinking I'll tell others as and when I see/speak to them. It's kind of petrifying, but also really nice knowing people know. Then last night we went out to view a clapt out vw campervan that needs restoration!!!! And bought it!!! Omg!!! We must be crazy!!! Very excited about it though, always wanted one!!!!

Morning all. Babies still there but I think I leaked a lot of fluid last night. Not sure what time doc is coming but will update you when he has been.
