Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage and too nervous to move over the to pregnancy boards? Freaking out about spotting, cramping, symptoms (or lack there of) and nervously awaiting your first scan? Here is a lovely place for lot's of support, hand holding and problem sharing.

Courtesy of owlbooty here are the Ten Commandments of the Freak Out Room.

  1. Thou shalt check thy knickers to the point of insanity until the baby actually arrives.
  2. Thou shalt also check the loo roll post-wipeage (sorry, gross, I know)
  3. Thou shalt bore thy physician and midwife to tears with the mentalling.
  4. And thy husband/boyfriend/family/neighbour's cat.
  5. Thou shalt obsess over the absence of symptoms.
  6. And the presence of symptoms.
  7. And the fluctuation of symptoms.
  8. Thou shalt pee on a vast number of sticks and keep ClearBlue and First Response in business.
  9. The day before any scan extreme mentalling is permitted without recourse to the Haddock.
10. Self-diagnosis with Dr Google is Forbidden.

The Haddock will be applied liberally to all transgressors.

Will be thinking of you on Thursday dachs and I'll do as some of the other ladies did last weekend and light two candles for your beautiful babies x

updiffed · 30/05/2011 11:09

Oh Dachs I can't possibly imagine how that feels :( I'm Not trying to make you go anywhere else, and But Have you gone onto the Sands website? I have a very good friend who very sadly recommends the forum on there for support, I know it really really helped her with lots of things, the funeral planning being the first of many difficult things get through. Still thinking of you and your babies lots here..

The bleeding has stopped here, thankfully. I am now exhusted and sick as dog. But thats good right?! bleugh...

katherine2008 · 30/05/2011 09:01

p.s. I don't mean the words especially - I mean the title.. x

katherine2008 · 30/05/2011 09:01

Dachs I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I think Amazing Grace sums you all up. x

SadlyNoLongerDiffedDachs · 30/05/2011 08:23

Looks like the cremation will be on Thursday morning. Have spent the weekend working out what we want in terms of readings and music. Choosing music for the funeral of your babies is hard :(

tiggersreturn · 29/05/2011 21:37

Lara I have one of the badges and they're great. Not only does it signal to people that you're pg and not fat but they also know that if they offer you a seat you will smile at them and thank them instead of going all huffy and saying you don't need one. Also the best part is that often other people ask for a seat on my behalf if no one offers which does make it easier. Saying which I refused to wear it in my local area and only put it on when I got to the station as I didn't want people knowing and it still feels a bit like I'm putting private info on public display but now the bump is getting much bigger I'm a bit less concerned.

My clothes come from next, h&m, jojomamanbebe and friends. It is only a short time but you still need clothes. Also consider buying things one size bigger than your old size if you fit those as you may not be returning to that size immediately....

Does someone want to move me to the grads part of the list now? I think I'm finally ready.

Hello All.. A quick check-in cos I missed you (and DH is driving me mad by watching Home Alone on TV - how old are we??)

Great scan news all and hope any bleeding / spotting has subsided for others. Big hugs to all of you.

Collie - you're five days ahead of me, but I am also HUGE. I have too suddenly popped out and I look properly pregnant. Had a bit of a shop with DH yesterday buying new clothes as little fits. Maxi dresses for summer, maternity leggings, jeggings and some maternity vests (cheap jobs from H&M - maternity wear everywhere else seems to be virtually non existent, shockingly awful or unnecessarily expensive - can't justify paying out for clothes that I will only wear for a few months, especially as a) I am still worried sick something will happen and b) we are pg over two distinct seasons). I look so pg that my friend told me that it's just as well that I told work when I did as there's no way I could hide it now. This might sound odd but I love looking pg. I think I will love my bump and I like wearing feminine things that show it off (ignore the leggings and jeggings obviously there - am referring more to maxi dresses!) I am slightly concerned as to how big I will become... I am eating exactly the same quantities as previously although I have to admit I have been ultra lazy on the exercise front and need to start something pronto.. I am still so knackered all the time (I know fatigue breeds fatigue). Can't wait for kicks.

dooscooby · 29/05/2011 12:57

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. Not sure what it is about me and Sundays but it seems they are to be my day of spotting! 3 weeks in a row now and no gym action at all today.

Just trying to focus on the positive scan news from Friday!

Velvetcu · 28/05/2011 15:27

olis sorry to hear AF arrived, good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Collie I started feeling flutters at 15 weeks, I'm now getting full on kung fu action and big turns.

I've only gained 3lbs so far - DH keeps telling me off because apart from bump I have actually lost weight elsewhere as my rings are falling off. This is ok isnt it?

olismum23 · 28/05/2011 13:42

I will prob let my gp know and see what she has to say colllie. As for you wriggles i felt DS at around 15/16 weeks it felt like butterflies in my tummy if that makes any sense good luck im sure all will be well :)

CollieandPup · 28/05/2011 13:35

olis I'm so sorry AF showed up. Will you go to the gp to be tested? So sorry darling, I know this has be a long a difficult road for you.

minnie if your planning on having a private scan it might be worth paying the extra to include the NT scan. I did and was glad. But the cost of having the bloods privately was an extra £100 or so, so we had those done on the nhs. Still waiting for the results. I feel the same about the weight gain too. I was weighed at my scan and had only gained 3-4lb but I am huge now. Trying to tell myself it's not all the puddings I've been scoffing and it is just pup growing!!

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow, is anyone else around this stage or past able to feel the baby kick. Either baby has been having a good old wriggle and kick or I'm having some worrying cramps. I just can't tell. Feels like it could be baby, but no idea what it should feel like and isn't it too early?

Af arrived today think it must have been chemical :( taking a break from TTC will still be lurking good luck to all the beans and bumps!

Minnie74 · 27/05/2011 21:29

Hi all.

Sorry if I miss anyone but have not managed to get on for a few days and am now forgetting everyone's news cos I can't look back pages!

dachs still thinking of you and am, as others have said previously, in awe at your strength. I can only imagine how tough it is. Hope you and dh have a fantastic time in Venice x

updiffed hope the bleeding is going and you're feeling better

Fab news on the scans scooby battery and hadrian

silver so glad everything is still ok

izzyhave a great hoilday. V jealous of the lovely sun you're going to get. Went on my first ever beach holiday last year (terrified of flying but did a course to get over it Blush) and it was fab. Probably never have the stomach to wear a bikini again now! Oh the wasted years!

Got my NT scan date through for 14th June. Is it worth paying for a private one? The lady at my reassurance scan said they can find out more reliably than the NHS ones and can often avoid having to have an amnio (which i don't really want cos of the mc risk) Obviously I'm looking on the bright side as usual and imagining the worst! Blush

Also have to have a consultant appointment as my mum has had 2 DVT's and apparently it raises my risk in pg. Scary as she nearly died both times. More to freak about Smile

Feel like I'm piling weight on though realistically it's only about 3 pounds! Just can't stop eating total rubbish!

to collie blackkat lara hairy bump harrassed laylas lily piglet and everyone else. Sorry as I know I must have missed so many people! Enjoy the weekend xxx

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 27/05/2011 20:28

CollieandPup · 27/05/2011 20:10

Yay for great scans from scooby Hadrian and battery fab to have good scan news, hope it keeps coming. hadrian sorry you gad such a scare, I bet you were terrified, but glad all is good.

dachs I'm sorry about the leaking breast, I hope they're better today. How are you holding up lovely? So in awe of your strength to post support for othes. Have you got a date for the cremation? Venice sounds just lovely. I hope you manage to enjoy it and it gives you and dh the restful break you need. You're all still very much in my thoughts.

lara wear the badge. I can't think of anything worse than being stood squashed on the tube, all hot and dizzy. People might suprise you.

Updiffed sorry you're still bleeding, but glad it's only brown.

izzy have a fab week in sunny Spain, I'm very Envy

I was the same with food earlier on. Starving and craving food whilst at the same time off it because it just made me sick. I'm just on it now Grin

I braved it told a couple of colleagues on weds and the news has spread. this in turn caused me to freak out weds night, convinced now i'd 'outed' myself it would all go wrong. But I'm feeling better today. I'm also HUGE!! Seem to suddenly have popped out this week!! There was no hiding it any longer.
