After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

Thanks hippychick I'll make sure we get plenty of SWI in over the next few days then. I know what you mean - my last cycle of Clomid DH 'wasn't in the mood' for my most fertile time - I was livid to have wasted a cycle!

hippychick66 · 20/06/2011 17:46

thanks for the hugs capiche - right back at ya Grin

Egg whites mean you are about to ovulate - as far as I know.

I was told to take my clomid just before bed as it can make you feel sick or give you a headache and better to have those things when asleep in bed - IYSWIM. But I don't think that is a hard and fast rule. And it didn't seem to make me feel ill anyway.

Think i have decided not to use clomid this month due to the house move - might just have a normal month and then take my second lot once we have moved. Would hate to not be able to SWI when I have taken the clomid. Grin

twolittlemonkeys · 20/06/2011 13:36

No idea, I've done 8 cycles of Clomid and never been advised on a time of day to take it. I always take it first thing otherwise I'd forget.

happystressedmum · 20/06/2011 13:34

My doctor didnt say but does anyone know WHEN the best time of day to take clomid. I am on day 3 of taking it and have been taking it in the evening.

twolittlemonkeys · 20/06/2011 11:30

Sorry to hear some of you are out for this month. Fingers crossed for the next one. Well I'm on CD15 today, hopefully lots of SWI over the next few days (managed it on CD11, 13, 14...) Haven't been temping or using OV sticks but had lots of EWCM yesterday. After 7 years of fertility problems, I ought to know the answer to this but does EWCM mean you are currently OVing or about to? Things I've read online seem to be slightly contradictory. Not that it matters I suppose, as long as we manage to cram in a few more days of SWI this week Grin

Capiche · 19/06/2011 21:25

hippy our situations are depressingly similar.... hugs!

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 21:00

emma - it's a long story but we agreed on 3. It was my way of saying to myself that I'd done all I could since the MCs and I agreed with my doc that I would call it a day after 3 months of clomid. (I am very old 44Shock)

I just feel like I might be wasting the precious drugs if I took 'em this cycle but once we move we'll be a bit more relaxed. I have heard of people getting preg the month after clomid so maybe I will kinda get an extra month out of it - IYSWIM.

How close is the wedding now em?

emmaloupolman · 19/06/2011 20:53

hippy they should give u 6 months i have taken 4 have a month at home and will be given another month after that

PinkCustard · 19/06/2011 15:22

Oh sorry to hear that Hippy. I have read that clomid can have an accumulative effect so perhaps better to take it on consecutive months? Although on the other hand I've heard of people getting their BFP the month after stopping the clomid - so who knows Confused Sorry for being no use whatsoever!! Hopefully someone more decisive/helpful will be along shortly Smile

Thanks for midcycle spotting info - hopefully it's a fertile sign for me...

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 15:04

that is meant to say - too busy!!!

hippychick66 · 19/06/2011 15:01

no clomid hippy baby this month ladies. Sorry it's not better news.Sad

pink i had mid cycle bleeding only once and it was not a clomid cycle. But it happened on the day i ov'd and I just took it as a good sign - it is supposed to mean you're more fertile Grin

Quick question - we are moving in 5 weeks and the next few weeks are gonna be very hectic. I only have 2 months worth of clomid left (my GP was only prepared to give 3 months without a cons). So the question is would you wait a month and then try the clomid for the cycle after just incase we are too buys and stressed to properly try in the next 2 weeks? Or do you tink it's better to take the 3 months worth consecutively??

PinkCustard · 19/06/2011 13:28

Thanks Capiche I thought it was a good sign at first, but then I read from some people that it had turned into AF and was a sign that they hadn't ovulated Confused I much prefer your explanation. I'm still spotting today but it is just spotting at the moment, nothing heavier, so hopefully is just an indicator that lots of juicy eggs have been released..?!

When will you test? Hopefully you'll be our first +!!

Capiche · 18/06/2011 20:52

no Jebel i did not infact clomid seems to have cleared up some mid cycle spotting i was having....but why is that a problem? I have read that some people have a little bleed on clomid at ovulation because the follicle(s) are bigger than one would naturally expect - could it be that?

I am 7dpo today and feeling pretty hope clueless about what minor/mild/made-up selection of symtoms i may be having

Hoping eveyone else is better - i think we need some + news!!!!

PinkCustard · 18/06/2011 18:14

Oh sorry Jebel onto the next cycle then I suppose Sad

Am actually now mildly concerned about the spotting I'm having and have stupidly been googling it!! It hasn't produced any answers but has instead just fuelled my panic...did anyone else have mid-cycle spotting on clomid?

Jebel · 18/06/2011 17:39

good luck pink. I didn't have any luck this month. Will go and see the doctor on Monday for my next cycle.

PinkCustard · 18/06/2011 09:47

Well I'm officially on my 1st clomid-induced 2ww! I'm really going to have to try and chillax about it a bit over the next 2 weeks otherwise I'll drive myself mad. I seem to have been even more obsessed this month than normal - please please let it work this time!!!!!!!!!

PinkCustard · 17/06/2011 18:35

(Bollox just typed a long-ish message and it vanished!!)

Joycep hope you get it sorted otherwise it defeats the point of taking clomid really - have you tried EPO and/or grapefruit juice? Think some cough medicines can help too..?

Thanks Hippy, I do usually ovulate and can normally feel a bit of a grumble in the ovary region, but this was much worse. I know it's just the clomid doing its thing though. I've had a teeny tiny bit of spotting today which I've heard can happen around ovulation, so looks like it's all working at the mo...

Hoorah for Friday - will be enjoying a nice cold glass of Wine later to celebrate the arrival of the weekend Smile

happystressedmum · 17/06/2011 11:25

Thanks hippy. I will take it for 5 days - have 50mg tablets. I hope its going to work!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and baby dust to everyone ttc.

joycep · 17/06/2011 07:14

Hey ladies - hope you are getting on ok. I've finished taking month two of clomid and now starting to BD with DH but it's becoming impossible because of pain. Has anyone heard of clomid causing thrush?? We used conceive plus and that didn't help. Last month everything was very dry and now I can't SWI at all. I don't think clomid is agreeing with my body urggghhh!!

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 18:00

pink ovulation pain can be quite bad. I once sat at work convinced that they were gonna have to call an ambulance for me and that turned out to be ov pain. U r not a wuss but equally your ovaries are meant to do that so i doubt you've damaged them Grin Like you, I got convinced this month that I was firing out zillions of eggs - ha bloody ha Hippy!!

PinkCustard · 16/06/2011 17:08

Everywhere I've read it says to take it for 5 days (although I'd missed the recommended day 2 by the time I got the prescription and took it from day 5 so don't listen to me!).

Boo to the BFN Jebel but as you know, you were just too early.

Well I was awoken last night at 2am by my painful ovaries! The pain continued until around 3.30am and then lessened enough for me to get back to sleep. But I've felt sore and bloated all day. I suspect it was ovulation going on, but am a bit concerned that all the effort might have damaged my poor ovaries, and that I was firing out hundreds of eggs in one shot - do you think I'm overreacting and am just a wuss sensitive to pain?

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 16:15

happy I was told to start on day 2 and take 5 tabs. By my calculations that made day 2, 3 , 4, 5 & 6 I think you need to make sure as the extra dose could make a difference. Is your doc confused or just not good at maths?

happystressedmum · 16/06/2011 13:14

Thank you Pink and Hippy!

Can someone help? My consultant said to take it days 2 - 5 but the instruction manual says take it for 5 days? Any advice?

Thanks

hippychick66 · 16/06/2011 08:24

capiche - people have conceived in a war zone - hopefully it wont effect your chances. Sorry to hear about the row. Bloody teenagers Grin

jebel I like the words reproductive challenges - good choice of words. Sorry about BFN - but still time to get the BFP, as you said maybe too early - hard not to be tempted isn't it?

Jebel · 16/06/2011 06:29

hippy I get what you mean about not wanting to see other people's babies. I am massively happy for other women having babies, but I'm not googoo gaga over them, it's my own offspring I want and I don't enjoy the reminder of my reproductive challenges.

Well, I couldn't resist and tested with a super sensitive test this morning. BFN of course as too early. But will keep testing until AF comes or I see the doctor on Monday. Have to hide tests from DH as he gets cross. At least the BFN means that the HGC jab I had is out of my system so if I did by chance get a positive it would be a true one.
