After more than a decade of fertility problems/miscarriages and then 2 miracle kids, we are embarking on our last ditch attempt for #3. It may be greedy, it may be foolish but we would love to have a bigger family. i don't seem able to get pg without intervention so clomid has been prescribed again.

If it doesn't work then I think we will finally have closure on a very long fertility journey. Even if it DOES work then it will be another miracle if I can hang on to the pg. I have had 7 m/c over the years.

We are very very lucky to have our 2 dcs but fingers crossed the lucky pills have one more dose of baby dust inside.

Hello
Quick question - did any of you get twingey like sensations in your ovaries during the treatment course (e.g. cd2-6?). Common sense would tell me that this is in my head - because currently the Clomid is suppressing any activity in my ovaries at the moment - right?? (Am cd5 today).

Hello all, just checking in again. Am on the 2ww, cd19 now, plenty of SWI between days 11-17 but nothing since. Am slightly concerned that I only had one day of ewcm, and not loads of it, as previous cycles there has been a lot! Oh well, there's nothing to do but wait.... and wait.... and wait......

joycep · 24/06/2011 10:39

still crossing fingers for you Capiche.
Hey Mrs HY1!
PinkCustard - is that usual for you to get spotting around that time?

I must say I'm so confused by what clomid is suppose to do. My egg was ripe on day 12 apparently. But I was told to carry on and to follow my natural cycle and use OPKs to see when I got the surge at which point i was to inject myself with Ovitrelle. I rang up yesterday as it was day 15 and still no surge and no ewcm and in the past i never got a surge later than day 14 and normally 4 days of ewcm. Anyway my doc told me to inject the Ovitrelle.

So basically I'm suppose to ovulate in the next 48hrs now but really strange my body is just not building up to ovulation like it did!

MrsHY1 · 23/06/2011 20:41

Capiche that sounds really promising - I'm keeping everything crossed for you!

Capiche · 23/06/2011 20:20

feeling ok thankyou everyone - i also think clomid DID lengthen my lp

spotting seeeeeems to have just been the one little bit but still not shouting from rooftops

period not due till sat or sun but tests getting quicker.....aaarghh!! Once when i got pregnant i celebrated - now I feel guilty if i fantasise for a second that it might work!

MrsHY1 · 23/06/2011 20:06

Hi guys
Can I join please? Joycep - hello!
I am on round 2 of Clomid, prescribed by a hospital-based assisted conception unit under duress (because they really thought I was worrying over nothing and thought I didn't need it!) to correct my luteal phase.
I was prescribed 50mg cd2-6 and it didn't seem to make much difference - I perhaps added a day to my lp (9 to 10) but that was all. I asked whether I should increase the dose and was told that there was 'no point.' However, I know it's a bit rash but I've done it anyway! I weighed it up and felt the benefits could outweigh any potential risks - I was regularly monitored on 50mg and only developed one dominant follicle - so the risks of over-stimulation and/or multiples is low.
Of course, this means that I only have one cycle left as opposed to two - but if 100mg doesn't make much of a difference then I'll probably can Clomid altogether and try something else. If it does make a difference I'll tell the hospital and hope they don't kill me/blacklist me, and/or get a further scrip from a private GP I've found.
cd3 today!
Best of luck all.
x

hi thxs pinkcustard for ur reply but as my cycle is very irregular i have no idea when i ovulated and i called my gp for my results of my blood test that i had done on day 21 and it came bk my progestrone level was 1. and i havent got a clue wat it shud be

PinkCustard · 23/06/2011 17:25

Hi all,

7dpo for me today (but hey who's counting!) and had a weird red glob this morning...cue frantic knicker-checking throughout the day which has revealed pinkish cm. Really hoping AF isn't about to arrive as, like Joycep was hoping clomid would lengthen my 12 day LP not shorten it!!

Hope you're doing ok Capiche

Welcome kelmcdonald you could still get a BFP this month, it just depends when you ovulated.

joycep · 23/06/2011 11:00

oh capiche - really sorry. Will keep everything crossed for you.
thanks ladies for letting me know. How confusing, I always though clomid was suppose to bring forward ovulation and lengthen LP!

hippychick66 · 23/06/2011 10:54

Just popped on to mark my place. I am away now until Tuesday so wont be on here but wanted to say to capiche that i am thinking of you and hope that the spotting is nothing serious. I've had MCs as well and I totally get how you feel. fingers crossed for you. Hi to any newbies. Will pop ba ck after Tuesday to see how you're all doing. I decided not to use my second lot of clomid this month as we are moving soon and all very stressful here. I will keep my last 2 doses of clomid for once we've moved but will still pop in and see if there are any BFPs Grin

kelmcdonald · 22/06/2011 21:02

hi im new to this site and new to clomid. this is my first cycle of clomid,(been ttc for over a yr) i was given 100mg to start on day 2-6 and im now on day 28, im not sure if i ovulated or not, although i did have cramping in both left and right side of my stomache. i have been put on clomid due to irregular periods and not ovulating. so far i have had hot flushes and bloatedness, loss of appetite (which soon came bk lol) headaches, very slight blurred vision(but that subsided quickly) the only thing i still have is i cant shift the heavy bloating feeling i dont no why im still getting it, im very confused, i have taken a preg test and it came bk negative. ive not seen anyone with the same as me (although i no there are - im obviously looking in wrong area) i also have a fibroid that is the size of a 5p and was told it should not effect me concieving. does anyone out there have the same

PinkCustard · 22/06/2011 19:38

Oh Capiche I really hope it doesn't turn into full AF for you - I had light bleeding at 5/6 weeks preg with DS and all was fine so keeping my fingers crossed for you. Thanks for the 4dpo spotting info.

Joycep ov is supposed to occur 5-10 days after your last tablet, mine was 10 days this month.

Capiche · 22/06/2011 19:00

yes joycep - mine was day 21 !! It can effectively set you back the number of days youtake it
my nurse said if no sign day 23 give her a ring!

Capiche · 22/06/2011 18:58

don't congratulate me - spotting tonight Sad

anyway que sera...

joycep · 22/06/2011 17:33

oh cross fingers for you capiche, sounding positive but can undersatnd the cautiousness.

Does anyone know whether clomid delays LH surge? I had my scan on MOnday and there was a ripe follicle. I've been given Ovitrelle to inject when i get my surge. Pre-clomid, I always got my surge either day 13 or 14 and my temp would go up 48hrs later to confirm ovulation. I'm now going in to day 15 - no signs of ovulation so it seems to be late. Will clomid have messed everything up?

Capiche · 22/06/2011 17:18

missed main point of post - ovulated as normal day 15/16

Capiche · 22/06/2011 17:17

i spotted last time i got pg and had never done before - 4dpo iirc

yes!! We have lines lots of them tilted up on window sills Smile miscarried many times in last 18 months but not yet whilst on clomid ..second month

we almost got caught out as my cycle is naturally 30 days but last month (first on clomid) did not ovulate until day 22....

we thought we were in for a long wait so not doing much swi - luckily twice in four days prior to surge..on surge day did it twice (!!) and then next two days

not much celebration going on but thats just because of m/cs !

PinkCustard · 22/06/2011 13:45

Does that mean you've had a BFP Capiche??!!!!! More info required!

I've decided to think positively about the spotting, as it's such a tiny amount and also is something which I don't usually get and I'm not normally preg, therefore because I'm experiencing something different this month maybe it'll be good news..??! Wink

How is everyone else getting on?

Jebel · 22/06/2011 12:33

ooooh capiche tell us more!

Capiche · 21/06/2011 20:27

been here lots of times before but things looking bright in our clomid infused house tonight Wink

vvvvvvv ie too early ,and had lots of m/cs but still.......Grin

PinkCustard · 21/06/2011 17:51

It's really crap isn't it.

I'm still having tiny amounts of spotting, which at 5dpo I don't think can be a positive sign. I can't face yet another month like this one!!!

Jebel · 21/06/2011 10:14

oh pink it's just not fair. I am about to go for a jolly with uni friends and all are up the duff or have children. I am ok with it as long as the whole conversation does not revolve around children and they of something to talk to me about other than 'how's work'.

there is really no way to get it out of your mind in 2ww, it's horrible but keep positive as you may have a BFP at the end!!

PinkCustard · 21/06/2011 09:53

That's hopeful then Jebel, you'll just have to make sure you get DH into the bedroom at the right time. Hope the hot flashes aren't too bad.

I've just about reached my TTC limit I think. I'm still only 5dpo, the next week is going to drag.

I've got one remaining friend who has yet to produce DC2 and she has a suspicious appointment this morning so I'm bracing myself for the inevitable preg announcement - ofcourse she's been TTC for a considerably shorter time than me so by rights it's my turn next!! Angry

Jebel · 21/06/2011 06:39

Back on clomid now for second cycle. Getting hot flushes this time which I didn't get before. DH used to be a nightmare about swi at fertile time. I can't honestly say that we have been TTC for 3 years as it is so rare that we actually managed at the right time. Now I'm on clomid he seems to have got his act together and we are swi at the right times.

Month before last I got a faint positive before getting AF 4 hours later; this month doc thinks I had failed implantation. As DH says, it feels like we are getting there...

emmaloupolman · 20/06/2011 21:43

Hi hippy thats not old the wedding is this saturday come round so quick :0
