I am due on around the 11th/12th of May. This is our 4th cycle of TTC number 2, after a MC last Jan, and our 2nd cycle using a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor to keep track of things. We managed to DTD 5 times (a record for us!) in the days just before and while I was (hopefully) ovulating, so I have (despite my best efforts) got my hopes up that this month will be the month.

Anyone else out there got 2 weeks of waiting and symptom-checking looming and want some company?

pinkpny and livingdead so funny did the same thing with first response on supersaver. they will prob arrive tomorrow i guess, when i will be one day early. i dont think im upduffed this month tho- nothing seems different at all today. Bums.

milocuckoomitten · 03/05/2011 19:32

Still no AF for me, still having some cramping and thinking I'm going to start but then finding I'm not. Also still feeling really weepy except I'm not upset about anything. I just hate the waiting - I must be CD 41 by now!

sims2fan · 03/05/2011 19:21

Isn't it funny to think that although we are probably spread throughout Britain or even further afield, if any of us are pregnant this month our children will be the same age and go through school etc at the same time. It just struck me today. We might be on threads together in the future saying things like "oh yes, my 3 year old does that all the time - totally normal!" Lol!

LivingDeadGirl · 03/05/2011 19:08

Pinkpony - great minds think alike! I've also just ordered some free super saver delivery amazon tests. Hopefully the knowledge that some are on their way will stop me cracking and testing too early.

Felt a bit sickly late afternoon today but other than that nothing. Am determined not to test unless I'm late.

VintageNancy · 03/05/2011 18:51

Just had weird stretching feeling in tummy - like I get after pilates! But haven't been since last Thurs...
And I've been weeing loads. Mind you been drinking loads too. Ha ha! This way madness lies.

FX for everyone testing soon: pommedechocolat and sims and anyone else.

I will be waiting til I'm at least 3 days late as have had too many disappointing months. Notably one when I was 3 days late, we were on holiday and I made DH find a pharmacy. Next day, AF arrived.

pommedechocolat · 03/05/2011 18:13

My boobs are still sore and seem lots bigger. Also my mum noticed that I was weeing a lot yesterday and asked if I was pregnant...
ARGH.
Have not tested today (day 21) waiting for tomorrow as have a first response test which can work from day 22. Going to do it with FMU.

flyingcloud · 03/05/2011 14:51

Follow up from this morning: I have a metallic taste in my mouth... I too really, really need to get a grip!

modernvickyp · 03/05/2011 14:05

Could I join?? Firstly - congrats Shmmery - fantastic news.

Convinced myself last month that I was pregnant - AF 10 days late but BFN on the testing front. Then beeping AF showed up in some sort of style but for only 3 days.

DTD only once this month but was in presence of EWCM so am randomly symptom spotting. AF due 9th May (right slap bang in the middle of our holiday). Am sure that boobs are sore, am feeling nauseous and have funny feeling in ovary area! However, did a test yesterday and got BFN.

Really need to sort myself out and stop thinking about it!! Get a grip girl. The wait continues......

sims2fan · 03/05/2011 13:57

I have so far taken 3 tests. One today, one yesterday and one the day before yesterday. All were negative. They were all cheapy wilkinson tests so i dont know if that means they're not very sensitive or what. I'm going to pop into town in an hour or so and if my period hasn't started by then I'm going to buy a first response kind of one, even though I think I was due yesterday. Hopefully that will be more sensitive and will pick it up if I am pregnant.

pinkpony · 03/05/2011 13:27

I'm proud of myself too! (and also ElmMum and meliesmummy)

Just got back from the supermarket where I stood gazing at the pg tests and managed to walk away. Have a new plan that I'm going to order some First Response ones from the internet, with super saver delivery they won't be here till the end of the week so I will have to wait till then to start POAS although I'm going to try my best to wait till the 13th

I'm so impatient, it's like waiting for christmas and birthdays all in one

sims2fan · 03/05/2011 13:14

I namechanged yesterday for something else and meant to change back but forgot, so the post by Reallyneedajob was by me.

I was convinced that when I went to the loo this morning I would have started but so far nothing. I feel like I'm about to start, but definitely have less cramps than I did the previous 2 days. I sort of feel today like I usually do once I've already started, if that makes sense.

I keep telling myself every time I go to the loo "don't be disappointed, it will have started by now" but each time nothing so my hopes build up again!

ElmMum · 03/05/2011 12:32

meliesmummy! I just did exactly the same thing! Grin

Found myself in Boots and thought, oh no, here we go. Bet i'll end up buying one. But I just looked at the different types, made a mental note to maybe try the First Response ones this time... and left!

Be funny if we were in the same Boots!

meliesmummy · 03/05/2011 10:55

I'm really proud of myself...I'm 9 dpo today and I just went into Boots and I didn't buy any tests! Grin. Hoping to hold out until the weekend.

ElmMum · 03/05/2011 09:27

It's almost impossible not to test early. I'm about to go to the shops and am already talking myself in and out of buying a test ready for when I need it, when really I know if I've got one in the house I'll use it.

:( flyingcloud. Still time for a BFP. Fingers crossed

OP posts:
flyingcloud · 03/05/2011 09:19

Well, I cracked and tested early and got a BFN. Still time I suppose, but I am fairly sure that I am not pg. I have had a throat infection and been on antibiotics too.

AF due Saturday, I don't know why I couldn't have waited just a little bit longer!

No symptoms.

ElmMum · 03/05/2011 08:50

Newbies added to the list . This is turning into a proper MN thread! .

Here's hoping no AFs for anyone today and maybe even some BFPs...

Who is testing early and who is waiting til AF is late?

I'm going to really really try to wait, although I'm itching to test so I don't have to have that horrible feeling when you realise AF has started. At least if you get a BFN you know it's coming and can stop feeling hopeful. But then I don't want to feel the disappointment of a BFN just yet...

mamarara · 02/05/2011 23:47

Hi may I join you ladies? First month ttc since mc in Jan. Due on 11th May. Not done any ov testing, charting or anything technical. Just been shagging til we feared it might fall off. Now deluding myself I feel nauseas/boobs hurt/any other pg symptom I can think of.

If it's any help (its not, I know) I had zero symptoms of any kind with my DD. Nothing pre period or during pg. Nada.Except BFP. After a while a bump. And eventually a baby popped out. Needless to say was uber paranoid the whole time (previous mc) but it all worked out fine. So no symptoms might not be bad news.

Ovaries crossed for you all. Here's hoping for some blastocysts.

LivingDeadGirl · 02/05/2011 22:53

CD22 today, AF due on or around 9th May. DH commented last night that my boobs looked "massive" but he had been on the beer all afternoon watching footy with the lads and was merry to say the least. Trying not to read too much into it.

Reallyneedajob · 02/05/2011 22:39

I think I'm due on today but it could be tomorrow. I don't normally keep good track of exactly how long my cycles are but I'm pretty sure they're usually regular and about 28 days. Yesterday I was very crampy so was convinced I was about to start. Same thing today - keep checking and nothing there. About half seven I started to feel the ache I often get the first couple of days when I have a really heavy flow. Nothing there. I've just been to the loo and again nothing there!

If it's going to start I wish it would just hurry up so I can get on with looking forward to trying again next month as at the moment I can't help but have a bit of hope that actually it's not going to start!

ElmMum · 02/05/2011 21:40

Thanks ladies. Then my original estimate of 11th/12th May is probably right. It seems such a long way away...

I'm off to heat up some Ambrosia Custard. I need cheering up! Night all :)

OP posts:
eurochick · 02/05/2011 21:10

I started my daily testing regime today.

8dpo and negative (unsurprisingly).

I have had v few symptoms to spot this month - only cramps. No sore boobs, no dizzyness, no nausea, no metallic taste.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 02/05/2011 20:28

Yep, the LH surge is 12-36 hours before ovulation, so at most if you tested at the beginning of that window and got the surge then you are at the very most 36 hours away from ovulation. With the CBFM that is from the first day of peak.

I had mild crampy type feelings during the afternoon of my first peak day - but suspect that was me obsessively symptom spotting before there are any real symptoms to spot!! Most stupid thing today - driving to work thought I had a metallic taste - then realised I had split my lip and it was in fact the tiny taste of my own blood - I know you can get symptoms early - but before sperm meets egg is a little ridiculous GrinBlush

DreamingOfABump · 02/05/2011 20:20

elmmum i think you ov within about 36 hrs of lh surge (peak reading)

ElmMum · 02/05/2011 20:20

Also, I feel as though there is no reason why I shouldn't be pg this month as we did everything right. Which is plain stupid, given that i know it doesn't work like that.

Even though I have no symptoms I just want to test now so I can stop being hopeful if it's a BFN. Stupid logic. I plan to sit on my hands until the 11th/12th and test then if no AF.

DreamingOfABump · 02/05/2011 20:19

imaginary symtom of the day, husband says i am very grumpy.

(I say this is probably because he is a lazy, messy git who does nothing around the house and needs to be nagged)
