That's it really. I'm CD 6, having red days, planning my BD-ing & wandering if anyone else is in the same boat as me...?

Just noticed this thread and had to put my wee bit in.
DH and I had been TTC from the day he proposed. I'm 32, extremely overweight and type 2 Diabetic so we didn't hold out much hope. For about 18 months we "tried" religiously around days 10-16 in the belief that I would be ovulating around day 14-15, then abstained completely until my next period for fear of undoing anything that might have happened. Nothing came of it other than disappointment each month. My mum dreaded telling me when my step-sister fell pregnant for fear of how I'd react. Finally I saw a Persona machine for sale on ebay and decided to give it a go. In my first month using it I discovered I wasn't ovulating til day 20 or 21! Which meant we had been abstaining throughout my entire fertile window for 18 months! The following month we timed it right with Persona's help and I conceived straight away! I am now 36 wks + 5 days with what we are told is a little girl (calling her Lola) and due to be induced on Tuesday (because of the Diabetes and now Obstetric Cholestasis too). My baby will be just 3 months younger than my step-sister's little girl! I can't recommend Persona enough. I certainly believe we wouldn't be where we now are without it.
Good luck to everyone TTC this month! I firmly believe that if it can happen for a 20 stone diabetic who's a touch past her prime then theres hope for everyone.

Hi Peachy,

I think I was quite lucky as Persona only asked me to test yesterday for the first time since day 6. Yesterday I got a red but no egg. As I had a longer cycle last month I was wondering if Persona would miss the times when I have a shorter cycle. It's all over the place lately but never more than 35 days so I thought I would give Persona a go. I'm glad I did now.
Funny that the same has happened to you.

peachygirl · 04/01/2006 17:24

Hi
I got AF today. I'm interested in what you said 3catstoo about ovulating earlier and you persona picking it up . I?ve been temping and oved earlier with the persona machine. I did have a temp rise too but went from day 17 to day 13 strange isn?t it?

3catstoo · 04/01/2006 17:07

Hi,
I would have thought you need to have another period first, not sure really how these things work.
I got my egg sign today, so 5 days earlier than last month. Now I just need to master a seduction technique over the next 2 days!
How did the tests go NN? Do you have to wait long for the results?

Happy New Year to everyone. Sorry about the AF's arriving. Good Luck with the test today Normsnockers.
CD14 for me today. Should get egg on Sunday or Monday, although I feel like I should OV sooner, with other little signs.
Still trying to convince DH though.

Hi Eldestgirl

Glad you had a good Christmas but sorry about AF.
Think i'm going to be the same. Got flashing m yesterday but i think i'm due anywhere from today to Friday. Got some cramping too so think it will be sooner than later. Not the way we wanted to start the New Year but lets hope it will be luckier for us.

Take Care J

eldestgirl · 27/12/2005 05:12

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Ours was nice and quiet, but I missed my family.
Anyway, the reason why I am the first back on this thread is that AF arrived today, a mere 28 days after the last one, which is very normal for me. I was expecting it, as DH went off for 3 days at precisely the wrong time last month, according to Persona, but I am still a tad fed up. Ah well, off we go again....CD1...

JAG123 · 23/12/2005 20:15

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas as i don't know when i will get chance to post again.

Good Luck to everyone over the Holidays whatever stage your are at.

Take Care
J

Apologies for my terrible spelling and typing on that last message.

3catstoo · 22/12/2005 14:28

Hi NN,

Hope your baterry lasts.
I would like a September baby. My eldest was born in September. He settled into school much better than my middle one who was born in June. He was 5 two weeks after starting school whereas she was only just 4. It does make a difference not just educationally but emotionally too. Having said that, if I had managed to get pg last month it would have been an August baby, which I still would have jumped at. A baby would just be great, no matter when it was due.
I hope you get your way, Christmas is such a nice time to conceive. Like you say, you don't have work to tire or stress you out over the holidays. Good Luck.

Hi Snowballstrike,
I thought that too, did a test yesterday even though I knew I couldn't be pg, negative result though. Last night AF arrived for certain!
My cycle really is messed up. First 34 days, then 29 days and now 31 days. For 10 months it was 29 days on the dot then suddenly went nuts.
Doesn't make it easy to predict when OV will be.

How are you feeling?

Snowballstrike · 21/12/2005 10:32

Hi all, just dropped in to see how you're getting on. It feels funny leaving for another thread, I keep expecting to come back at any minute. 3catstoo, I always get a day and a bit of light brown (sorry tmi) before AF starts, so maybe your bodies about to start doing that. It's such a shame that just when you get used to one pattern of behavour everything changes! Any chance you could be pg and this is a bit of implantation bleeding?

I'm due on the 26th Norms all things being well. Good luck this month ladies. Merry Christmas!

3catstoo · 20/12/2005 12:23

Well I called the Persona helpline today and spoke to a very helpful lady. She told me not to press the m until I have a constant flow requiring full santary protection. So my odd days of trickles are not considered to be AF. Hopefully todays trickle will develop into the constant flow. I hate this one day on one day off chaos I'm having.
Does anyone else get this kind of run upto the final AF onset?

eldestgirl · 20/12/2005 08:10

Hi busty73,
You can ovulate even though the ov sign does not come up. It may be that the test sticks did not pick up a surge at the times they asked you to test. Until the machine "remembers" your previous data, it will ask for tests on preset days and these days may not be significant for you.
hth!

busty73 · 19/12/2005 16:24

hi everyone again, firstly well done snowballstrike wishing you a healthy pregnancy and loads of years of happiness and fun!!

does anyone know if you will definately not ovulate if there i no egg sign! i'm confused first month, and day 24 done all the tests and haven't had a sign,is there a chance ersona hasn't picked the surge up?? i'm too shy to phone persona for advice bit embrassed thati don't know

3catstoo · 19/12/2005 14:36

Thanks NN. I'm still getting used to all these functions on Persona. The instructions are a bit brief.
