I tried a digi out this morning and it said 'pregnant' so it's finally starting to sink in now...stupid doctor causing me to doubt the lines! Though I must say seeing it in words is rather more comforting than looking for lines!

Hey chicks!
I am out the witch got me early this month. Had to go the docs as i have had pains in my left handside for a few days. We think a cycst might have ruptured. Got a scan on monday the hospital to find out. She also had my blood test results which shows a low level of progestrone whic she says she can give me something (Clomid?).

That's all very interesting spidookly I took the tests because I thought they might need to see them for 'proof' of the bfp...she said the lines weren't dark enough and to come back in a week's time with another test and then pretty much showed me the door i was rather upset as you can imagine! Feeling rather stronger now and would really like to go and stick a whole bag full of bfp tests under her nose and remind her that they've all got my urine on at the same time but that would just be far too expensive xstitch I didn't realise about the battery with the digi ones, though it makes sense - thank you for that! TBH I may just go back and see a different doc on Monday and get the whole thing moving as really can't be doing with the silly doc again next week! or I might be able to self refer online so will look into that.

spidookly am v impressed at your testing stats! Also v interested in your comments about post bfp testing...a good perspective!

I agree Spidookly, my first pregnacy I went to the docs fully expecting them to do they own test but he said no need positive is a positive, end of.

BlueCrane did I miss something where your doctor said you weren't pregnant because they line wasn't dark enough on your test?!

A line is a line according to my doctor, who is also a relative and totally brilliant. Your doc sounds like a ninny.

Did she ask you to bring used pregnancy tests to an appointment? You know that a line from a BFP can fade entirely after an hour or two?

The result is only valid during the recommended time. It works both ways - BFPs that disappear still count as BFPs and ones that appear too late don't count.

I feel the same way about continued testing post-BFP as I do about early testing - it just creates stress and hassle where you need to be trying to minimise it and enjoy TTC/being pregnant.

I used 2 Boots own for DD1 (had to do 2nd one just to be sure :o), and 1 for DD2.

That's a total combined test tally of 3 pregnancy tests for 2 babies. I've done 0 tests so far this time. There's no need for all this constant weeing on sticks and I'm surprised at a GP for encouraging it and stressing you out over the thickness of the line.

Anyway, I hope you're having a nice weekend enjoying the terrifying and exciting first few weeks after BFP :) :)

vegas funny you should say that about ovulating twice. I have just been thinking that about myself a minute ago. The reason is on three seperate occassions over this cycle I have had pains in my left ovary and EWCM!! Then I went to google and some study discovered that woman can ovulate 2/3 times in one cycle and that may the the real reason for twins!! Dam you google for contaminating my brain even more while TTC.

blue remember the line does not have to be as dark as the control line. It even says that on the test instructions. TBH I think your GP is being a tit and very unfair on you. I will confess to having done about 8 tests Only the one I did yesterday as an experiment after reading about your GP are the 2 lines remotely the same and 2 of mine were digital tests one saying pregnant 1-2 weeks and a week later pregnant 2-3. Just remember the digital ones only show their results for about 24hrs before the batter gives out so keep one for your appointment day so you can show it

spidookly they're definitely lines but just not as dark as the control line IYSWIM and after my doc yesterday said they weren't dark enough it made me a little nervous about the whole thing...even though I had two BFP pee sticks with me to show her...one FR and one Tesco and a whole bag of IC's but didn't show her those Everyone on here has always said 'a line is a line' but my silly doc was being awkward about them!! Just been into town and bought my digi sticks for Sunday / next week!

My AF is due today or tomorrow. According to OPKs didnt OV until day 17 so hoping it comes later if anything just to make sure LP is long enough (well hoping it doesn't come at all really)
Was feeling really hopeful earlier in the week as had horrible cramps from sunday to tuesday which is highly unusual and thought it could be implantation. However got really cranky with DH last night, so sure I am PMSing. Also POAS.. couldn't resist.. and there was nothing.

I so wanted a 2011 baby. Why did I wait so long to TTC!

It has sunk in but I still can't believe I managed to conceive so quickly after DS took such a long time. I had to tell my best friend yesterday as I'm going on her 'Its a Knockout' hen weekend at the end of May and she's struggling with numbers. They said they could go as low as 6 people but it would be very tiring with that few people, there will now only be 5 as I won't be able to join in being hit with inflatables!

Thankfully she said she still wants me to go and will look for something else instead.

That's interesting seven ...partly why I'm holding off on the digi for the moment as I can't face it saying 'not pregnant' after my run in with the docs yesterday! Would prefer to wait until I know hcg high enough to get the right answer IYSWIM How are you doing though? Has it sunk in yet? I have an equally clear albeit still feint line on FR (wednesday) and Tesco (Thursday).

Blue just thought I'd let you know that I done a CB digital as well on Wednesday (8 days after AF due) which said 'not pregnant' despite having 4 feint BFP's. They're obviously not even as sensitive as Tesco or Asda tests. My 2 FR's were the clearest lines by far though.
