Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

Thanks wiw, I'm hoping to have one today. Not sure if I should just go straight to walk-in epu at st george or if I should try and try and get a referral from my gp and go to Kingston which is where I'm registered. I'm a bit scared that gp will brush me off again.

Not too much more spotting yesterday, and none this morning, but I still need to know that my baby is alive. We're going to France on Friday, so definitely need to know before that.

Good luck to all the scanners!

Well done for putting yourself down on the list wiw

PinkFondantFancy · 18/04/2011 07:09

irene good luck for today's scan!

wiw fab news on your scan! Hehehe yep dildo cam is messy eh?? Grin

V. exciting news about an impending new arrival! I was just thinking that it must be time for some lovely new people to join the list.

I went to my first aquanatal class yesterday, it was fab! I'm still off work as I'm still completely exhausted, but fingers crossed, the breathlessness seems to have passed which is a huge relief.

wombatinwaiting · 18/04/2011 05:21

Ooh yay new differs! Preparing mocktails for a welcome party.

No news here. Feeling tired but still nothing in the way of sickness and boobs less hurty but it comes and goes. Had no repeat of the tiny weeny spotting of last weekend thankfully. Scan in six days. The wait is dragging.

Nina hope a trip to epu tomorrow will reassure you. Fingers crossed for good news for you. It's horrible when something happens to worry you and all you can do is wait.

MummyAbroad · 17/04/2011 21:28

WIW thats great news! I am really pleased for you. I bet it will take you a few days for the info to really sink in! Enjoy!

nina sorry to hear about the cm is worrying you. I agree with the others, anything that will bring you reassurance is worth doing. Hope the EPU can help. xxx

teacake I would take them, its better to have them and not need them than vice versa, and I believe its what midwives recommend. I had to cart mine half way around the world a few times, I dont remember them being really bulky though? Are they?

Irene best of luck for the nuchal tomorrow xxx

congrats! Wink

tunnocks probably worth just photocopying the relevant bits to take - that's what I am doing next week when I go to Belgium. Like the page that has blood group and other stuff on it.

Blackkat · 17/04/2011 21:17

Sorry and WIW so pleased that you had such a good scan today! Grin

Blackkat · 17/04/2011 21:16

ninu hoping all has calmed down for you, and that you get reassuring news tomorrow if you head to EPU, thinking of you xx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 17/04/2011 11:52

Fab news wiw !!! Grin Grin

ninu as you know, it's probably nothing, but we all know how terrifying this is. If your epu is not open today (ours isn't) then take tomorrow off and go to set your mind at rest. ((hugs))

tt I used to take mine with me if I was going away for a while just for peace of mind. Never needed them but it stopped me worrying in case I did iykwim!

Two days to my first scan so I'm starting to really panic about seeing nothing - which is illogical because I've never had any problems in the first trimester but I guess there's nothing logical about it. Roll on Tuesday!

Glad to hear your scan went well wiw
It must be a huge relief.

I had some more pinkish cm with smears of brown this morning. I'm really freaking out that its all over. I really hope not. Thinking about taking tomorrow off and camping out at an epu. I need to know either way. It is just too similar to last time.

wombatinwaiting · 17/04/2011 09:57

Morning ladies and I'm pleased to start Sunday off with some good news. First scan this morning and I'm measuring exactly 8w3d which is spot on with my dates and HB at 175bpm! Grin It's the furthest we've got so all seems a bit surreal! My stomach was flipping somersaults on the way there and I practically slid to the floor with relief once I'd clambered out of the stirrups (or maybe that was too much lube on the dildocam! Blush Grin ) Bean did a little wiggle - not much but could just see the arm and leg buds. There was a big blobby bit at the end of bean's feet which I asked what it was and apparently it's the yolk sac - thought I knew lots about early pg - clearly not! Blush Ob/gyn was so lovely and reassuring and I really got the feeling genuinely thrilled for us! I know we still have a few hurdles to go but I'm so relieved to have got this far.

Sorry to hear about your brown cm ninunina - fingers crossed there is no more today.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow irene - do you know how quickly you'll get the results?

Ninunina · 16/04/2011 19:55

collie I've managed to surpass last times mc date since I was only 6 or 7 weeks last time. I'm 8+5 today. I don't think any of the epu's open on Saturday pm and Sunday in my area. Will try and go on Monday if things don't disappear. I started to panic since I got some tummy cramps, but it turned out to be a bowel movement (tmi)

IreneHeron · 16/04/2011 19:52

I've been away in London for a while and haven't checked this thread for ages. Just got Knitter's news. Knitter, I'm so sorry. I hope you and your DH are alright, loads of hugs coming your way.

It's my nuchal scan on Monday, i've been counting down the weeks. I was at a family funeral thingy in London on Wednesday and told my brothers and SILs that I was pg. Not great timing but I wanted to tell them to their faces and I won't see them for ages now I live in Scotland. I've been really looking forward to the scan but as the time gets nearer I'm getting really anxious. I'd be really surprised if I've lost the baby, my bump is growing and my symptoms are strong but after Knitter's news you never know what might happen.

I'm totally exhausted after my few days in London on my own with DS. I guess it wasn't so difficult when we lived there and when DS was in his buggy. Walking with a small-un is hard work and slow.

Wave to everyone.

mattsmama · 16/04/2011 18:22

tunnocks that doppler is worth it's weight in gold already then eh? I keep having bad dreams too - wish they'd bugger off!

As for coincidences with dates etc my EDD is 17/11/11 which is the date of my first MC - strange or what?

Collie2 · 16/04/2011 17:55

Oh ninu as you've said a bit of brown in your cm is likely to be fine- I've had it early on! Your gp doesn't sound very helpful at all. I hate that all they care about is ruling ectopic and other such complications and not about reassuring poor women who have prev mc! Maybe you could ring epu directly on Monday? Or do you have a walk in nearby? Do you think you would pay for a private scan? Maybe once you get to the date you mc last time-to reassure you? Try not too worry too much sweet (v easy to say I know) xxx

Ninunina · 16/04/2011 17:47

My turn to start mentalling...I noticed some cm with hints of brown in it today, and am freaking out. I know so many of you have been through this and have been fine, but I can't help but feel really sad since things started out very similarly before I mc last time. I called my GP who said there is nothing he can do to help since having a scan now won't necessarily mean that I won't go on to mc in a few days time. He said that since I've already had a scan, they don't need to worry about an ectopic or anything like that, so I just have to deal with it.

I don't have any pain and its literally only tiny speks of brown- but I just wish it would go away.

Sorry for the me me me!

Collie2 · 16/04/2011 15:01

Afternoon everyone!

banana well done for adding yourself to the list. Sorry that you're still so sick, I honestly so feel your pain!

velvet yay for good scan and test results.

tunnocks thought you were v brave buying a Doppler but clearly it's paid off. Keep us updated on how you go with it. I've been tempted to get one but v scared it will add to my mentalling!

izzy I know it shouldn't but it still Shock me that when it come to things like this it's still a post code lottery out there. I can't believe you don't get the NT scan in your area. Understand your need for a scan to get you through the 'safe zone' (as mummya calls it) your first scan is tues right? I'll be thinking of you

Sorry to nickster and mamap who are getting ms back. That's rubbish!!!! I hope it doesn't last long.

cep sorry you didn't get a scan yesterday. I understand how hard it must be, and unnerving to have scan at exactly the same point as last time, but keep trying to be positive. How was your night last night without ds? Hope you and dh had some quality time together.

pink I think the independent mw sounds great. I'm not so sold on the idea for me but to be fair I've really not thought about the birth much, but I have a friend who is very keen, so much so that as she's facing reduduancy and If the worst happens she's thinking of re-training for it.

blackkat so glad yesterday when well for your dad, I hope his recovery is smooth and rapid. So Angry for you at your rellies. They are just unbelievable. I'd be ashamed if I were them. But for now try not to let them get in the way of looking after yourself and your dad. And, get yourself added to the list lovely, it'd be lovely to see your name up there. It really is weired watching the weeks go by. I couldn't believe it said 8wks yesterday!

dachs yay for buying the pram! V exciting and brave! The JL baby scheme sounds good though!

wiw and mummya it sounds very complicated what you have to consider and go through to get tests for ds. I hope very much neither of you are faced with a decision of having to come back to the UK.

wiw hello dd buddy I am ok thank you. Sickness eased last night so managed to stuff my face eat while I had the chance. Ms gone today too. I seem to have a few days were it's awful, followed by a 'day off'..... Or so I'm Hoping rather than it having just disappeard bcs sonethings wrong! GOOD LUCK tomorrow, I am sure bean is fine and I hope you get to see him/her wriggling for you!

Had chat with dh this morning and we've agreed I'll have another scan privately when we get back from Scotland but before i go to Belfast. I'll be roughly 10 1/2 weeks depending on the date, so would be well into my 'safe zone'. Just hope nothing goes wrong whilst in Scotland!

wombatinwaiting · 16/04/2011 14:48

Fab news on the doppler tunnocks - I'm wondering if you might have created a stampede for them though!

teacake glad doppler worked! :)

my bump is still determined to disappear in the morning, but I am hopeful it will pop out some time soon :)

The pram deed is done. We have ordered it and JL will keep it until we are ready to have it delivered. Grin [also v scared emoticon]
