kat I'm so sorry to hear your news. It really is unfair. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this again. I'm sorry my mc was natural in the end. I hope you are getting lots of support in RL and that this horrid time passes as quickly as possible. We're here if you need us. Xx

Hi Kat I had medical management in Costa Rica. The gyne inserted the pessaries and then I went home. I was told that it would be more effective if I didnt take painkillers (dont know if this is really true?) but was prescribed some anyway in case I needed them. Unfortunately for me, it didnt work. I did bleed a lot, and felt period pains but after a scan we could see my uterus was still not clear. I was 14 weeks, so quite late for medical management, I tried the pessaries 7 times in total and ended up needing an ERPC. How far along are you Kat? Have you had signs that your body is starting to gear up for a natural anyway? I had none, except one isolated bit of brown spotting. I found the ERPC not as bad as all the long drawn out medical stuff. Dont be scared of it if you have to have one, it really is all over quickly. xxx

Hi kat I had medical management at hospital. Tablets, then two days later pessaries. They started to work within the hour - had a "flood" and then within the next hour I passed everything. I found it painful (my periods always are) but there was pain relief on hand and the staff were lovely. I came home that evening and bled for a few days.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 24/04/2011 09:57

kat i had medical management with my mmc. They gave me pills to take at home and a pessary to insert and after about 3 hours the pessary started taking effect and it all started happening. I was told that I might be in a lot of pain and that I should make sure there was someone around in case I needed them to take me to A&E but it ended up being more like bad period pains rather than deeper pain. I spent most of the day in bed and the bathroom, but I was up and around by mid-afternoon.

mamapower · 24/04/2011 08:58

oh kat that's made me cry, I'm so sorry! I haven't had a medical (2 naturals), I'm sure someone will be along shortly to shed some light. Take care of yourself xx

wombatinwaiting · 24/04/2011 05:29

kat - I am so very sorry to read your news - it is indeed very unfair. I have had 1 natural m/c and 1 m/c with ERPC which I would personally recommend. I don't have any personal knowledge of medical management, but from what I have read from others on mn, it is generally a hospital procedure. Sending many hugs and thoughts x

kat2504 · 24/04/2011 04:59

Thank you all for your kind words. I've tried getting completely shit faced but am now awake at stupid hour anyway. If anyone is able to help me with what to expect with medical management I'd appreciate it. Want to avoid the dreadful erpc. If I opt for medical is it an at home or in hospital procedure at this early stage?

tiggersreturn · 23/04/2011 23:39

Kat - really sorry to hear your news. Nothing else to say really except I hope you have lots of support in RL. On the maternity clothes, I bought a few things in Paris when I was pregnant with the one I lost in May 2009 and am finally wearing them now, after I passed them onto a friend this winter convinced I would never get pregnant again. I thoroughly recommend loaning out maternity clothes as a good way of inducing fertility.

LaraMi · 23/04/2011 19:37

kat2504 · 23/04/2011 15:47

Fucking awful scan. Big space, no baby. Again. Epu closed until Tuesday so can't even do anything about it. Am gutted. Twice in less than a year. I knew it was not looking good when the lady got dildo cam out. No use asking why me, but well, with so many people that don't give a fuck and drink and smoke and all that, and me who has tried so hard to do everything perfect, it is so unfair.
Thanks for all your support in the last few weeks. I look forward to hearing about your lovely babies.

LaraMi · 23/04/2011 14:31

Any news on scan, kat? Been thinking about you all morning...

Still feeling yucky so went to docs this miorning, got an "unfit to fly" letter and have subsequently cancelled the Algarve trip. Quite relieved to be staying here (not like me at all!)

Also panicking cos boob pain / tenderness has completely gone today... Has anyone else had this? Am v scared...

Collie2 · 23/04/2011 14:30

Afternoon everyone.

Good luck to kat today

in car heading to cottage after a bit of retail therapy in Glasgow Grin left home sunny, pissing it down now Sad

Had awful night last night. Was woken at 1am by hiddeous painful cramps. After about an hour of panicing (tmi warning) turns out it was a bad dose of diaherrea Blush

banana ignore your friend, she shouldn't be bitching about you in your own home! I've noticed recently I'm a lot more moody and snapping. Putting it down to hormones and lack of sleep.

Happy Easter to all for tomorrow as I've no idea if I'll be able to get a signal to get on.

9+2 today, tomorrows that dreaded date! Eek!

xx
