Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

Ps wombat and daisy good luck for tomorrow!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/04/2011 19:53

Irene that's so tough having to wait for the nuchal results. However as you say you would hear sooner if it was high risk so no news is good news - just would be nice to have it in writing I guess! Hope you get through the next week with some fingernails left!

kat if you're lurking I hope you're ok xxx

onions you are very zen, I am Envy at your lack of mentalling! Don't blame you for feeling Angry re that adoption story, life is bloody unfair sometimes Sad

mummya sensible decision re the blood tests/cvs. You are low risk - although that's not a 100% guarantee it's pretty damn good so now try and relax a bit Smile

Good to see some more newcomers - maybe I can start moving up that list soon!!

hotnspicyonions · 26/04/2011 19:20

Kat really sorry to read your news. There's just nothing anyone can say, other than we'll keep the beanbag plumped in the VIP area. I don't blame you for getting rat arsed either, I think that was my reaction when I MC'd. Hope RL is being kind to you. Don't even get me started with how unfair life can be. We have good friends who tried for years to have children, suffering many MC's. They have now adopted 3 siblings who are lovely, but it turns out they are 3 of 8 now (4 older, 1 new baby). The BIRTH MOTHER Angry has said she will keep having kids til they let her keep one, which is never gonna happen due to her drug/alcohol/prostitution situation. Life is f'in unfair sometimes indeedy.

Welcome amumin (rhymes nicely with a bun in....!), battery and YRMOTB, and anyone else I have missed. Been away a bit. Your beanbags have been kept pristine and plumped for you! I'm thinking after we get the nuchal results I may give up mine in here. My mentalling seems to have ceased for the time being.

MummyA good news on Nuchal results. I so hope mine go the same way!

Daisy sending you Zen like vibes for tomorrow hon. The phrase Grin and bare it comes to mind. I'll be thinking of you and virtually holding your hand.

I've got to get ready for work now so I'm just gonna have to wave to everyone else, poor show I know. Will try & do a proper name check soon, I promise.

katherine2008 · 26/04/2011 19:14

welcome to the newbies amum and battery and a big yay to see you here.

great news mummya - so pleased for you.

daisy wow 20 week scan. you are allowed 20 minutes mentalling then please desist. and good luck tomorrow, you'll be just dandy.

sorry not to have really kept up over the last few days - dh has been poorly so instead of a nice Easter break where I could catch up on some much needed sleep I ended up on dd duties for four days. not that I mind, I'm just double pooped.

irene you are a saint - I have my nuchal scan a week today and I'm not sure I could be as patient as you. I'm sure I'd be irritating them with a stressy phone call. I've checked my starting stats (I'll be 40 by due date) and I start off at a very depressing one in 75. fx for good bloods and measurements!

Waves to cep, mamap, hils, izzy, velvet, tunnocks, pink, onions, dachs (and her bum) and all the wombats and everyone else I've embarrassingly failed to name check....

Still thinking of Kat - hope you are ok hun.

Daisybell1 · 26/04/2011 19:00

Hello all

Izzy great news re the MW and the referral, its always useful to find a pet one for future mentalling (I should know!)

Great news from the NT MummyA and understand your reasoning behind the CVS, you are so sane and rational!

Hello,

Amuminwaiting welcome to the thread. Make yourself nice a comfy, its a really good place to hang out while you worry your way through the 1st trimester. All these ladies are lovely.

Izzy I phoned several labs and the all tell me that they dont do bloods here in Costa Rica. I did debate flying to Miami, but cant really justify the cost (if I went all that way, I would do CVS and that is very $$$) so am just going to try and trust the low nuchal number and remember that DS's result was high, I had amnio and he was fine. Good luck with the booking in, hope you get a lovely sympathetic midwife - its definitely your turn to get a nice one!

Irene hard isnt it? I do hope you get your news soon, and that it is a lovely fab low risk number. xxx

waves to YRMOTB how are you? xxx

welcome amuminwaiting sorry about your losses. congratulations on your bfp.

wombatinwaiting · 26/04/2011 13:19

Good luck with the booking in izzy and FX for a good m/w.

You have the patience of a saint irene - are you jumping every time the phone rings? Gawd - I know I'd be.....

IreneHeron · 26/04/2011 12:18

Izzy good luck with booking in.

Amuminwaiting hope you feel better soon. Pregnancy isn't glamorous is it. As Izzy says, here's to an uneventful few months for you.

It has been eight days since my nuchal, so I'm hoping no phone calls in the next day or two and then I can relax and wait for the low risk letter. [Bites nails]

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 26/04/2011 11:49

mummya fab news re the nuchal, that sounds really good. Are you going to bother trying to get the bloods done?

Welcome to amuminwaiting - I'm really sorry to hear about your losses Sad but congrats on the bfp. Hoping for an uneventful few months for you x (sorry can't help on the progesterone front although do sympathise re the glamour of pg!!)

Was slightly taken aback last night to realise booking in appt is this afternoon. Even though there's no scan and no chance of mw listening in (am only 9+3) so not going to be bad news, it does make it feel more official and is therefore still scary!! Fx I get a nice mw who will refer me to cons so I can get my 16 wk scan without having to fight!

aMuminwaiting · 26/04/2011 10:57

Oh thanks. I've not me anyone else who's been put on these so great to meet two people! I thought about the butt option but I got hemorrhoids with my first pregnancy and get flare ups quite often so even though I am prone to cystitis (oh what a wonderful specimen I am) I thought I should stay with the front door! I had to got to the loo ten times between 8 and bedtime (where does it all come from?!) but I'm hoping that if I keep drinking tons of water and cranberry juice I should keep nice and flushed out. Isn't being pregnant super glamorous? I wonder why they don't mention all these things on tv programmes.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 26/04/2011 10:47

Woohoo for mummya! That's very good, and a lovely low NT measurement as well. X

wombatinwaiting · 26/04/2011 09:41

Hi and welcome aMIW - lots of good support and haddock slapping available here. I'm so sorry to hear of your two losses.
I am also on prog supp and asprin too - just 1 x 400mg and 1 x 75mg daily. I think my ob/gyn said to stop taking them at 16 weeks - as pink says, it's really to help the placenta get settled so after this time I don't think they actually do anything...... I am using the front passage and yes, there is a lot that comes out however I'm assured that what is needed is transferred. I've not had any of the problems of soreness / cystitis (yet!) and again, feel free to message for more info - pink was a great help to me when I got started.

PinkFondantFancy · 26/04/2011 09:22

Fab news on your scan mummya!

Hi aMIWI am on progesterone and aspirin too. If you can stand to, find putting the progesterone in my bum much better-I know it seems unlikely but it's actually easier and no messy discharge and no burning or cystitis (which is what forced me to give it a try that way in the first place.....) I'm at 18 weeks and haven't stopped taking it yet, but hoping clinic will tell me I can pack it in this week. They assured me the placenta will have taken over weeks ago so coming off it should be fine but I have to admit it will be a bit scary.... Feel free to message me if you want any more info!

aMuminwaiting · 26/04/2011 08:28

Hi everyone
I was told to pop along here by LaraMi and looks like you all give each other great support and kippers around the head!

I only found out I'm pregnant week ago. I should be 6 weeks exactly now. I lost my first baby at nearly 22 weeks last year and then my second at 11 weeks 6 months later. My consultant wanted me to have a six week scan and then one every four weeks but he retired when I was trying for this little one how selfish) and no one's in a rush to get me scanned any time soon...well everything stops at Easter Confused

I'm thrilled to be pregnant again but every trip to the loo is frightening. Even if it's only a few spots here and there I do NOT want to see any blood this time. I'm on progesterone pesseries and aspirin. Is anyone else on the pesseries? They're making my bits so sore and when I pee in the morning it all seems to make a run for it! I'm not sure anything stays in. Also, for anyone on it who's quite far along, how did you feel when you stopped taking it? I keep worrying that the second I stop using them t 14-16weeks I'll start bleeding.

cep · 26/04/2011 07:25

morning ladies.

mummya so pleased you had a good scan. Grin

minnie i thought i had a uti at about 7 weeks that made me bleed a bit, the gp's were happy to give me antibi's just incase it was, and it sorted it.
