yay yay yay wombat - quadruple yay!

blackkat, my scan (this time) at just before 8 weeks was external. Sometimes I think it depends how good their scanner is..!

dd's scan at about 7 weeks was fanjocam though a few years back...

Loving the [cwink]

Blackkat · 27/04/2011 11:38

wombat so relieved for you, fantastic news Grin x

Wombat33 · 27/04/2011 11:13

quick one from phone:
wombatbean is all good, cervix is closed so that's reassuring and sonographer thinks it.s a little girl Grin

dooscooby · 27/04/2011 11:08

oh and blackkat i agreed with wiw that you prob need to prepare for fanjo. I had a private scan at 8+2 last time and expected it to be external given my friends didn't ever get a wiff of a fanjocam at 8 weeks. Given my reaction they agreed to do external first, but then needed to do internal in the end to get a better look. You could try asking for external first? Good luck x

dooscooby · 27/04/2011 11:02

hi there
great to see some other newbies on here, hopefully the next few weeks will progress ok for us all and we can bravely add ourselves to the list so that LauraMi isn't so lonely on the bottom!

I'm right into my 'danger zone now' and had 2 really sleepless nights, so the worrying has stepped up. I've also got my friends hen do this weekend which I'm organising and I feel very anxious about it - I really want her to have an amazing time but I'm scared that someone will ask my why I'm not drinking or that if something goes wrong then I'll feel it's because I've done too much. Luckily I've got a scan next Tues, although I really don't want to go as scans = bad news in my head, would quite like to live in ignorance this time!

wombatinwaiting · 27/04/2011 10:49

Thanks for the reassuring words blackkat - now some in return (instead of a fish!) FCam is highly likely and you are much more likely to see your bean than with an external. Deep breath, focus on the screen and not the rummaging x

Blackkat · 27/04/2011 10:24

Grin Grin YAY for YRMOTB brilliant news, congratulations!!! So great to see you here. [cgrin]

Harassed good to see you over here too Smile, think the symptoms fluctuating is entirely normal

AMIW Grin congratulations to you too on the BFP, though so sorry Sad to hear of your losses.

minnie so glad bleeding seem to have stopped Smile Now, repeat: "My baby and me are more important than my job" I know it takes a while to let yourself believe it and act upon it, but it sounds like you might need to! Smile
(I'm convinced I've only been able to get pregnant bcs I gave up one day a week (despite the financial impact) and have been strict about doing less than I used to -it's taken me nearly a year to achieve that change)

So lovely to find out about more BFP's and see that list growing Smile

WIW your weekend sounds truly amazing, Beirut is absolutely on my list of places I want to go to know, thanks for sharing! I'm not suprised you had a little bit of pink after all that walking, think it's the body's way of nudging you to say "feet up for a bit love"

Izzy so pleased mw appt went well, FX you get the 16wk scan without any fuss. Though truly Shock that your notes hadn't been properly updated. I think the same happened to Collie

Velvet you have a talented bean, blowing kisses sounds just lovely!

Irene hope you get some news soon, ((hugs))

Katherine keeping my FX for your results too ((hugs))

Daisy just be what you need to be, noone is looking or judging. Good luck ((hugs))

Dachs thanks for all the yummy treats!!!

to everyone else I've missed, owl, pink, wombat tunnocks, onions, cep, Lara, collie

I've finally taken the plunge and booked a scan for tomorrow, I will be 8+3. Question: Should I prepare myself for internal/external scan. I chuffing hate fanjocam. lara if all is ok, I will do two things tomorrow, promise, add myself to list and call midwife.
Bit of brown goo Monday so spent yesterday doing absolutely nothing and things much better today, concerned FCam would bring more down. Terrified, but no fish please!

harassedinherpants · 27/04/2011 10:19

Thanks wiw!

I've spoken to mw and have booking in appoinment in 3 weeks. In the meantime I have birth centre number, epu number and mw's work mobile if I have any questions at all. I'll get a reassurance/dating scan booked in about 3 weeks too. She said around 8 weeks is a good time to scan, and epu scanning is crazy busy with bank hols and appointments are bow 2 weeks plus anyway except for emergencies.

Feeling a little happier now! She said symptoms coming and going is normal, and so is crampig. Phew!

harassedinherpants · 27/04/2011 08:22

I have to say Pink that I've had fab care on both my mc's.

No hanging around, in the same day for a scan. Even on the second one when I was only 5+1, I phoned mw at 9.30 and had an appointment at 10.30. Some of the tales I've heard on the mc board are just horrendous...

How are you keeping?? Hope it's all good!

Loving the [cgrin]'s

PinkFondantFancy · 27/04/2011 08:17

harrassed you definitely don't deserve a fish slap! Good work seeing the gp and speaking to the MW, I think it's a good plan. It's really good they'll give you an 8week reassurance scan - glad to hear at least some NHS trusts are sensible!!!

harassedinherpants · 27/04/2011 08:14

Thanks Cep and Pink! Maybe you should just slap me a fish or two. I'm just waiting for it all to go wrong tbh. Have checked edd, but that's all. Dh and I have hardly spoken about it, think we're both trying to pretend it's not happening really.

I saw my gp last night and she wants me to phone mw today and get booked in early and say I need a dating scan. Not sure when they'll do that, but I'll def get a reassurance scan at 8 weeks at least. My epu do it when you've had two consecutive mc's.

Big thanks to Cep for plumping my bean bag Grin.

PinkFondantFancy · 27/04/2011 08:06

guys guys guys how cool is this: [cgrin] hehehe

harrassed I think it could well be normal - mine were hurting on and off all the way through to 12 weeks and really freaked me out when they stopped hurting. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that this is a sticky one!

daisy I just wanted to agree with everyone else - just be however you feel like being at the time, no-one's expecting a display and I would have thought every woman reacts differently. I was just thinking back, and wonder if the obstetrician thought I was weird when I had no reaction when I was having the early scans - I was excited but don't suppose I showed it because I'd prepared myself for the worst IYSWIM? So it probably came across as just being indifferent but he didn't say anything. I don't know whether that helps or not....

cep · 27/04/2011 07:43

Good luck for all the scanners today, there seems to be a few.

daisy you don't have to be all excited in the waiting room, it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing or saying what matters is you and dh. be how you want to be.

hihp it's normal for symptoms to go up and down, i didn't really get sore boobs at all. If you're worried about your hcg levels could you ask the dr? or check on a clear blue digital, cause that should have gone up to it's higher number on 5 weeks.

hope everyone else is ok.

harassedinherpants · 27/04/2011 07:33

Hi, can I just ask some advice please? Was so hoping to come back and join you but want to get past my first danger day. Tomorrow.

I'm 5 weeks today I think, got bfp before 1st post mc af, but cycles are good and regular and I ov'd around day 14 as normal.

My boobs have been very sore, but don't seem so sore today. Normal? Or hcg dropping do you think?

Daisybell1 · 27/04/2011 07:19

Morning all

Very surprisingly had a great night's sleep, despite this afternoon's impending scan....

Pink I'm having 'odd' feelings, nothing regular, but they're 'down there' ie right in my lady bits Blush I don't know if they're bean's movements or some very random muscle spasms.

Onions you're definitely right about Grin and Bear it. I can't face trotting out how I'm feeling to yet another person - poor OH is sick of hearing it, I'm sick of hearing it! I'm def not ready to look round the delivery rooms yet - the thought of that is making me hyperventilate....

Sorry, have probably spewed most of you with mouthfuls of Wombat's haggis - god I'm missing that stuff!!!!

wombatinwaiting · 27/04/2011 07:17

37 weeks and still not believing?! Wow - she's going to get a shock pink? Grin In the best British tradition, stiff upper lip and all that in advance of next week's scan (mentalling allowed a little!)

PinkFondantFancy · 27/04/2011 06:59

Good luck daisy and wombat! I too have been losing the plot somewhat over my impending 20 week scan next week especially as ive changed my mind and think it was gas rather than pinkbean I've bern feeling these last few weeks Confused

I feel less bad about not really believing I'm actually going to have a baby later thus year now, as I went to see a friend yesterday who's about 37 weeks pg after a MC and she doesn't really believe she's having one either!!!
Big waves to the newbies!! V exciting!

Have a lovely day all! Xxx

wombatinwaiting · 27/04/2011 05:21

Great news on a good midwife izzy and what a lovely performance from velvetbean - blowing kisses is seriously talented!

minnie - hope you're doing ok - anything more overnight? All sorts of multi-coloured goo seems to be quite normal and not necessarily bad news. If it would help you mental less, then I would book in for the scan anyway and as for getting to the docs - your health is always more important than work ..... sending hugs and positive vibes.

Good luck to daisy and wombat today. I think we allow a 24 hour mentalling amnesty with no fish-slapping prior to scans, don't we?

Congrats to all the newcomers - freshly baked pain au chocolats all round!

MummyAbroad · 26/04/2011 22:24

Hi Velvet glad scan was good Smile When I was pregnant with DS I was teaching too (EFL though, so slightly different) and I thought I needed to stand up to teach - its amazing how you can adapt when you need to. I spent at least three months teaching from a sitting down position - it did feel wierd and I did feel that I wasnt doing a 100% brilliant job (like I normally do Grin) but its actually an really easy decision to make to chose between your health and keeping your boss happy. Also my students didnt mind one bit and were very helpful - once you have a visible bump people tend to give you a lot of leeway. Its always worth talking to your boss too and trying to negotiate the hours that you want.

Just seen on bookface What Babes news.... EEEEEEEK wonderful honey xxx

Minnie74 · 26/04/2011 22:11

Hi just very quick pop-in to freak! Brown spotting stopped yesterday but today had some (admittedly tiny Blush) pink bits of cm. Is this bad news? Can't get a scan till next week, or go to doc's for antibiotics for uti, as big inspection at work in next two days and my boss would really freak out if i even had a phonecall! Oh dear i think i need some fish slapping!

Wombat33 · 26/04/2011 21:36

Whoop also for Velvets scan!

Wombat33 · 26/04/2011 21:34

Hello peeps!! Quick hi from me to say I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, but I have just returned from a mini break in sunny Scotland Smile Still bleeding but not as much as two weeks ago (fingers crossed the jinx pixies didn't here that!). 20 week scan tomorrow and am seriously mentalling [thwacks self with haddock!]

Huge hugs to Kat if you are out there. I'm thinking of you and am so so Sad to see your news. I hope you'll be back here again soon with a much better outcome xxx

Whoop to all scanners with great results esp old timers Mummya and Izzy* (and anyone else I've forgotten)!

Hello to lovely newbies! congrats on your bfps and super super excited to see yrmotb here!!! Grin Grin

Big hugs and lots of haggis/tablet/rubarb/aberdeen angus burgers and anything else that takes your fancy to everyone.

PS good luck to Daisy for your scan tomorrow xxx

Velvetcu · 26/04/2011 20:31

congrats on your scan mummya

irene didnt you at least get to see the NT measurements to put your mind at rest a bit?

Izz glad your appointment went well and that you have a good mw

welcome to the mentalling amuminwaiting

hellooooo battery loverly to have you here, snuggle in to your bean bag and whatever you do DON'T mental quietly to yourself in the corner!

GrinGrinGrin yrmotb yipppeeeeeeeeeee. See what happens when we ask the stork nicely Grin Grin I'm soooo happy for you

So I had my NHS NT/anomaly/dating scan today. I wasnt going to bother since we already had the NT privately but I'm so glad I went (not in the least because I had a load of brown stuff this morning!). The sonographer was great, went through all organs/limbs from top to bottom. Measured my cervix and blood flow in the cord and placenta. Bean was very wriggly and making us laugh a lot with its poses, it blew some kisses too which was lovely. I have also lost 4 stress days :) am now 14 weeks today so will update the list when I've posted this one.

I have a questions about rights at work stuff. I had low blood pressure today and had a few dizzy spells which are worse when I dont eat. I'm a teacher so its almost impossible to sit down in lessons and the kids will ask what im doing anyway. Tomorrow I am teaching all 5 periods and I have duty before and after school as well as break time which means I wont get to sit down between 8:20 and 1:10. Am I allowed to say I just cant do that? I'm hate "getting out of work" but I honestly dont think I can do a whole day like that.
