Just found out you are pregnant after a previous miscarriage? There is plenty of support, hand holding and problem-shared-problem-halved going on over here. All welcome to join in.

Collie I forgot to say I would definitely complain about the 26 week issue, that is truly awful and needs to be stopped for you and other women

OrangeGloss · 02/05/2011 06:54

Congrats YRMOTB Grin Grin

Battery could I say a gentle congrats and sorry to hear you're having this scare, and on such a day too :( I've been told brown is old, and bleeding doesn't always mean the worst, I had heavy bleeds for a few weeks but turned out to be from implantation, could be the same for you or any number of non-bad reasons. I do hope so (((hugs)))

Angry for Collie they didn't listen to me either on my 35/36 day cycles until the dating scan. Surely you could ring em to try and see sense? [naive emoticon] or the lying method if you don't think they'll see sense? It's their own fault!

Not much from me, just taking a day at a time trying to be Positive But Cautious. I'm looking forward to seeing more of, when you are ready, you lovely ladies on the grads thread :)

wombatinwaiting · 02/05/2011 05:37

How are you doing today battery? Thinking of you....

Most frustrating re: your experience collie - I think you're more than within your rights to take things further. What's your next step?

So you finally found somewhere harassed? Hope it's bigger than the shoeboxes you'd previously seen.... sorry you're feeling so green but pleased for you at the same time!

Good luck for tomorrow minnie - 24 hour mentalling period with no fish slapping granted Smile

All seems ok here bar weird dreams about breastfeeding last night - some random nanny took over right from birth and insisted on bottle feeding without even letting me try..... so it was a week afterwards that I was trying and nothing was happening - felt quite distraught.... just a dream though Confused....

harassedinherpants · 01/05/2011 19:26

Hi girls, I'm here but positively green 24/7......... not that I'm complaining of course!

battery welcome, and I'm sorry that you're worrying already. Fingers are firmly x'd for you.

irene brilliant news!

Collie lovely to see you back! So sorry about your useless mw's though, I agree that a complaint is very much needed. Not as if you haven't already pointed this out!

Minnie symptoms come and go........ I've checked with my mw Blush.

As I said above I'm positively green, I feel rotten tbh, but it's all good hey?! Constantly shattered and disturbed sleep at night. Dd (nearly 5) has obviously twigged something is up and is playing up a bit, and to top things off we're moving at the end of the month. Apparently. I need to pack more stuff, clean and touch up some paint but have no energy! Dh says not to worry it'll all be fine......

Minnie74 · 01/05/2011 17:57

battery i so hope everything is ok. I've had brown bleeding again this time and am really hoping it'll be a more positive outcome. fx for you x

collie sounds very stressful, just what you don't need! Hope things will get sorted without too much more stress.

blackkat liking the tinned peaches idea- used to love them when i was a young

Been feeling pretty sick over last 3 days-which i was taking as a good thing- but today i feel a lot better and so am now freaking that it means everything's going wrong again!
Or maybe its the travel sickness bands kicking in- which is good if they're just working properly but also bad as it means I'll have to carry on looking like Andy Murray to get some sickness relief!

Got a scan booked for Tuesday at the EPU. Aaargh so scary! [terrified emoticon]

Velvetcu · 01/05/2011 14:41

battery sorry you are worried but I have kept a diary of my bleeds, the colour, how much etc and I've had at least a brown one every couple of weeks. I know it won't stop you worrying esp coz of dd but it would seem we've all had bleeding to some extent. orange had a few huge ones too.

collie the mix up re cycle length and dates sounds very stressful. They just don't listen do they. I hope you are able to get things sorted

MummyAbroad · 01/05/2011 13:25

battery oh how worrying for you, have you been bleeding for a long time? I had a big gush of blood early in, and everything turned out to be fine. It really was quite a lot but didnt last longer than 3 hours. I so so hope its not what you think. xxx

Collie what a nightmare. I made a promise to myself that I would lie about AF dates this time, as I got so much pressure to be induced when i went overdue with DS. No one cared about my version of dates only theirs, (in the end I had DS 8 days over without induction) This time I ovulated early and am keeping quiet about it as it means things will work in my favour. If you have to ring and get the whole 26 weeks debacle sorted out - could you also say that they wrote down your AF dates wrong too? Just make it a nice 14 days before ovulation.
I agree with Pink about complaint to the head midwife, that is probably the best approach - but a little white lie might also tidy things up nicely. If you cant get it changed officially, just take a big pen and correct the notes yourself! By the way the important time for nuchal is from 11+0 to 13+6 weeks. So if you are just 11 weeks that will be fine for taking the measurements. see here for more info

I have sleep problems too - herbal tea before bed is helping.

Collie2 I have the same cycle troubles. I explained to my midwife that I had a long cycle and didn't ovulate until CD26. She said she'd not tell the hospital that so I'd get my early scan on time. But I haven't been given a scan date and if we go by the 'count from the first day of your last missed period' all the sizings will be wrong. I'm already petrified the baby won't make it again without them telling me the babies too small for the dates. They are supposed to be trained aren't they? I'm fed up of always having to ask pretty basic questions when they've clearly got something wrong. We should just be concentrating on remaining sane without having to do our 'health professionals' jobs for them.

Hope you're ok batteryhen. My midwife always told me brown blood was old and therefor you still have a good chance of not miscarrying. Not particularly helpful advice for me when I'd told her mine was pink and then red! But no cramps is also a really good sign. Really hope your baby sticks.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/05/2011 11:47

Oh battery I so so hope you are wrong. Thinking of you today, big (((hugs))) xxx

wombatinwaiting · 01/05/2011 11:07

Oh battery - I so, so, so hope that is not the case, particularly with the DD of the MC2 - thinking of you lots and sending positive vibes x

batteryhen · 01/05/2011 10:56

Hello everyone.

Just a quickie post. I have started bleeding this morning. Just brown when I wee but none the less I feel this is the start of my 3rd MC. No red or cramps, still feel sick etc but I am fairly certain. Today is the due date of my 2nd MC so not a nice day in the hen coop.

Sorry for the me post xxx

PinkFondantFancy · 01/05/2011 08:57

Ooooh not sure if I've said hello to the lovely new people! Huge waves to YRMOTB, Battery, yarnie and a special squeeze for harrassed!

battery hope today goes ok.

collie I have the same sleep problems - infuriating isn't it! I was going to go out this morning so got up and had a shower and now just feel way too minging to go out - knackered, pukey and headachy! So am thinking about going back to bed. While I've been off work I've been feeling great but that's because I've been compensating for the lack of nighttime sleep with at least a couple of hours' nap each day, but as soon as I stop the naps (have been trying to wean myself off) I feel grim again....

I am Angry on your behalf about the whole MW debacle.... It seems bizarre that they'd book for 13+6, as like you say, you could easily have been a couple of days ahead of that. Luckily though you're the other way, although I can see why you'd rather have a scan closer to 13 weeks than just before 12. I was a bit worried about that too, as I wanted one closer to 13 weeks but in the event I was mentalling quite a lot so didn't wait (the NHS forgot to book me one altogether so had to get private....). If it's any comfort, when you go for your 16 week appointment with the MW you'll hear the heartbeat which is fantastic and staves off the mentalling for a bit, so even if you have your scan at 12 weeks you won't have too long to wait for a bit more reassurance. HOWEVER, the stuff about you being over 26 weeks is completely unforgivable!!! Did all of this turn up in the same envelope???!?! Are they not impressed that you are the first person in the history of medicine to be apparently 26 weeks and 10 weeks pregnant simultaneously?? Apparently there is someone at each hospital called the 'supervisor of midwives', I guess she's the head midwife. Anyway, I think I'd definitely complain to her - how are you supposed to have any confidence in your community MW when she seems to just completely ignore everything you say?? Ridiculous. Do you have any option to change to a different local hospital for your care?

Collie2 · 30/04/2011 23:55

Hi all, just returned home from scotland and soooooo much to catch up on!

Firstly, yippeeee for yrmotb and battery I am soooooooo pleased for you both, a long time coming. I hope you're both making yourselves comfy!

I hope you're doing ok chic, lovely to see you back x

blackkat irene daisy wombat and onions excellent news on the scans and test results and yay for dachs knowing the flavours. One of each, how lovely! I'm a little Envy that you've got 2 in there!! Smile

yarnie congrats on your bfp and welcome

minnie how are you? Hope all ok?

how is izzy and wiw my bfp buddies?!

kat if your lurking, I hope you are coping as well as can be after your sad scan last week, still thinking of you.

So, I'm back from scotland and have passed that horrid date without incidence. Although still only feel a little relaxed as I actually showed no signs of mc at all until 2 weeks after bean died last time, and 1week after the scan. So I'm still very nervous about my scan on weds. I do still have sore boobs though. Ms eased but still very much there and I'm still shattered all the time. Also my sleeping is very disturbed. Anyone else found this? I wake at least twice a night, and I'm lucky to sleep past 6.30.

I've also come home to my booking in blood results and paper work and date for my 12 wk scan and NT. And I'm furious!! As I expected the whole 40 day cycle length is clearly to complicated for them to comprehend and yet again I'm down as being due 11 days too early!! This is despite me going on and on about my long cycle, knowing my ovulation date AND having had a scan at 6 weeks which actually put be 2 days behind my dates making them 13 days ahead!!!!!! Aghh!!! It doesn't end there either. Working on their wonderfully inaccurates dates, they have booked me in for my NT when they think I would be 13+6, my last possible date for an NT, which I find shocking as if these were my corrected projected dates, but then I turned out to be 1or 2 days ahead I'd be too late to have the NT at all!! And it doesn't end there. In the mix of all this they've also managed to send me some lovely charts of my predicted size growth and information on how, now i'm past 26 weeks, I'll be having my growth measuresed by my fundal height (my bump I assume) so of course they also have me down as being 28weeks-my old pg dates- despite me raising it twice with the mw!! I am so fricking annoyed!! Am I over reacting???? I just having so little confidence in them now, and I just really don't feel supported by my community mw, who was rather blasé at my booking in apt.

I also have my private scan booked for weds next week so was hoping to push back my nhs scan until 13 weeks ish, but don't know if they will know as if they won't change my edd it would push me way past the NT date threshold. Ironically, based on my last scan results i'd barely be 12 weeks on the date they've given me!

So sorry to return and post what has turned into a rant, just reeling!!!

nickstermum · 30/04/2011 21:51

Yay Irene that's great!

Hello battery please make yourself comfy in here

wombat Exciting news about the house, that should keep you busy for a bit. Glad your dd wasn't too bad.

IreneHeron · 30/04/2011 14:12

Just rushing in to announce a good nuchal result. It came in the post today.
Grin And relax!

Wombat33 · 30/04/2011 14:11

Thanks Battery and congrats on your bfp! Hope your dd tomorrow is easier than you expect xxx

batteryhen · 30/04/2011 13:43

Just poking my head back in again along with babe. I too have achy boobs and all day morning sickness, so may make more of an appearance here too :) sorry not to name check - I need to read back, but I think I do know most people

Good news from me is that because of my last 2 MMC I have an early scan booked for the 9th May when I will be 6 +3. Then I can start taking clexane injections (sticky blood). I feel very nervous just thinking about it :(

wombat just quickly to say glad you got through your due date ok, mine is tomorrow and I am thankful I am now pregnant otherwise I think it might have been a lot more difficult.

Have a good day everyone xx

Wombat33 · 30/04/2011 13:19

And welcome YRMOTB!!!! Grin Grin

Wombat33 · 30/04/2011 13:18

Hello girls. Sorry I haven't been around much - been v busy as we're buying a house!! Madly dashing around trying to sort out mortgage docs and surveys. All very exciting! That and the little one being very active helped me through my MC due date yeaterday, which was easier than I expected - nothing like a royal wedding and a few street parties for distraction! Smile

Hope everyone is okay today? Fab news from all the scanners last week - Dachs I can't believe you've got one of each - that's fab!!!

Velvet my response to 'helpful' advice like that is usually along the lines of: "yes, I would love to be having such an easy preganacy that I could do more exercise; you don't know how lucky you are".

we are experts in the fear to here is the best place to be :)

we were nice to the stork before we threatened violence you know!

I got my 22 week scan date through today eeek!

Another friend announced her pg yesterday - she's 7 weeks, has had no scans or anything but assumes since it's her 2nd everything is fine. If I wasn't updiffed I think I'd have to stop hanging around with them all - out of a group of 7, 2 have just given birth and the other 5 are all pg! I was a bit Angry with some comments yesterday though. I was asked how many weeks I was and I said 14 and a bit and one of our (male) friends whose DP is 26 weeks said "haha you know exactly how many weeks, I suppose you do at the beginning". Erm no everyday you get to carry your baby is a miracle so it's not suprising I know! Then his DP started giving me a lecture on exercise (she is a fitness instructor). Firstly she made me feel like a lazy blob coz I don't go to the gym then patronizingly told me that maybe I should try to walk my dog twice a day since I obviously wouldnt be able to manage anything else.

I have packed up a box of clothes I can't fit into any more :) and :( since I now have no jeans to wear.

Anyway, have a lovely day everyone

Youremindmeofthebabe · 30/04/2011 11:45

Grin I have sore boobs today, so thought I might show my face. There's a lot of cake in here isn't there? I love cake.

is owl on holiday? I'm sure it was you all threatening the stork with violence that did it this month.
