Hooray for the good scans today!! Grin Grin and a slight Envy for collie at jumping ahead - lovely when that happens!!!

cep best of luck for tomorrow!

mummya how are you? Is the spotting continuing to keep away? Hope the sickness has settled down a bit too - the new job sounds like a fabulous distraction (do not worry about housework, our house is permanent carnage since I've been working nearly every day and feeling too tired/nauseous in the evenings to clean!)

yrmotb how're you doing? Mentalling is par for the course, trust me, as is panicking about symptoms, lack of, and variation in. There is no inner calm with pg after mc!! Anyway I hope you're managing to cope and keep the mentalling manageable Smile

velvet I have tried to remember about bras but I'm drawing a blank, the only thing I recall is my normal bras suddenly becoming v v uncomfortable and having to jump up a size or five but no idea how long this went on...sorry... [useless emoticon]

Thanks to all for being duly Angry on my behalf yesterday (especially mummya who really did seem as angry as I felt! Grin ). Phone call today from hospital ante natal clinic manager to say I could have a consultant appt. After my 20 week scan Hmm. So looks as though we're on our own until then Sad. I think I'm going to see how the NT goes on the 16th and then decide what scans etc I think I need and whether we can pay for them. I don't know. I do feel a bit abandoned tbh, like after the mc when we heard from and spoke to no medical professionals at all...it feels like no one's bothered about this baby except me. It's a strange and lonely time, and I'm glad I've got mn to vent on and know at least the ladies on here know where I'm coming from!

Small confession though - I did get a bargain Doppler on eBay which should arrive this week Blush. Clearly as I'm only 10+4 it would be madness to use it just yet so I will endeavour to hold off a bit longer. Actually part of me is terrified and not sure I'll ever dare but we'll see how long that lasts! Grin. (btw it was cheap as missing the instructions - go on, tell me I'm really adding to the mentalling by trying to find a hb pre-12 weeks with no instructions, aren't I?!) Grin

good luck for tomorrow cep

cep · 04/05/2011 19:47

thanks katherine have to admit i'm feeling rather nervous, ds is well aware of baby now, so am worried something may have gone wrong, sods law and all that. Plus we have to take him as no childcare, so the plan is for dh to wait outside with him and then when all ok they get brought in, am hoping the staff will do that anyway.

battery that sounds like a nice figure, fx it's increased tomorrow.

Velvetcu · 04/05/2011 19:18

great news collie glad you got to fast forward some days too :)

whoop for the hcg levels battery now breathe!

thanks daisy for the response re bras

Yey collie fab news!! Grin

yrmotb everyone else has beaten me to it but I can assume you that we're all faking the calmness!! (except maybe Irene who seems to be the exception who proves the rule!).

batteryhen · 04/05/2011 18:25

Hooray for collie :) great great news xxx

welcome jiggle :)

mummyA Just wanted to say thank you for the hcg link, you really are very thoughtful :)

My hcg came back as 14778 yesterday and I am having a repeat tomorrow, so fingers crossed they are rising nicely :)

LaraMi · 04/05/2011 17:38

Yeyyy Collie - so very excited and happy for you. Enjoy your break - it will be all the more enjoyable now!!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 04/05/2011 17:22

yey collie! Great news.Grin

harassedinherpants · 04/05/2011 17:17

Oh Collie I am soooo pleased for you Grin Grin!!!

I'm 6 weeks today I think. Well 6 weeks since last mc anyway! Mw said to use that as my date as long as I ov'd at a normal time, which I did. Both mw and epu said symptoms can come and go, but my ms is still alive and kicking. Smelly kitten has just made ill, flaming thing....

cep · 04/05/2011 16:59

yay collie so pleased for you. now go and have a nice break away. Grin

Collie2 · 04/05/2011 16:58

Had scan, colliepup just perfect!!!! It was AMAZING thank you everyone for encouraging me to go!! Little pup all wriggly rubbing it's eyes and kicking it's legs!!! I somehow managed to again 5 days (a whole week in fact on last scan) so I'm 11+3 edd. 20th nov! Also ended up having nt scan and odds are 1:10098 so couldn't be happier about that either. Nice healthy heartbeat of 177bpm!! I'm on cloud 9 Grin soooo happy! Thanks everyone for getting me this far.

... I'm off to mamas and papas on the way home to look at ickle baby things!! Grin xxxxxx

Welcome Jiggle - this is the bestest place to hang out IMHO...

Had my booking in appt this morning. What a load of bollox.... Maybe I am just being a cynic after my previous MCs but it just didn't feel real - felt like we were going through the motions and when I left I felt like I wouldn't be seeing any of them again as I will probs MC. .

She said I could go for another early scan if it makes me feel more reassured but for some reason I feel too scared to have another one.

Hey Blackkat - must I bully you EVERY DAY?! Where is your name on the list?!!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 04/05/2011 14:33

ok good, as long as we're all faking it I feel a bit better! Thanks dachs

jigglebum · 04/05/2011 14:32

HI everyone, decided I just don't feel brave enough to join the due Dec 2011 thread yet so will hang out here for a bit longer! I am 9 weeks today. Mc at 11 weeks last time so still not feeling confident about it all yet. Saw the MW yesterday for my booking appointment though and she was lovely. They come to your house here for a good hour or so, which was a novel experience for me. Hoping for a scan in about 3 weeks.

Told the first person yesterday (apart from DH obviously) - a good friend who had been very supportive during the mc. Still haven't told my mum but probably will soon.

Sorry to hear about all the stresses with symptoms or lack of them, or less than conclusive scans.

Got offered a great part time job yesterday. It is just the sort of thing I have been looking for since moving house over a year ago but as a teacher it would not start until Sep and then (if things go to plan) I could only work one term before leaving. I don't know whether to tell them up front now, even though have not had a scan or anything. It would be a great job to have in the long term but would feel morally wrong taking it , although legally I know i can. What would you guys do? Obviously in the back of my mind I know it could all go wrong again anyway.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 04/05/2011 14:32

Oh God. You shouldn't have told me that about that poor woman.

Ok, thanks. I guess I will just have to become better at hiding my emotions outwardly! I can manage that, surely, and reserve the wrath for DP. I rang my dp earlier and told him I was angry, and he told me that shagging is a good release of tension. I was looking forward to a few months off

DoubleDiffedDachs · 04/05/2011 14:30

yrmotb who's calm? I don't think any of us are. I'm certainly not!

dooscooby · 04/05/2011 14:13

yrmotb I'm supposedly 7 weeks today but haven't managed to keep calm at all - in fact I asked everyone the same thing a couple of weeks ago and they all said that they didn't really, the days just eventually ticked by and that people on here were here to listen and support in the meantime. I wish we all had a fast forward button!

I'm also v irritable, and v. emotional - cried my eyes out yesterday when watching 'This Morning' and a story about a woman who had recently died of breast cancer but had managed to live long enough to see her son's first day at school (turns out she also had 4 m/c before having her son - life just isn't fair is it!).

Youremindmeofthebabe · 04/05/2011 13:32

I know why it's called the freak out room.

I am 5 weeks tomorrow, my boobs were sore, but seem less so today and yesterday, but maybe I'm just getting used to it. I am irritable though. I am struggling to keep my temper, which is not like me. I hate everything and i'm fucking terrified. So far, though, for no reason. I did another 2 cheapys, one Sunday and one Monday, and Monday's was very definately darker that Sundays, which was in turn MUCH darker than the first one I did. I know you are all going to tell me the symptoms will come and go, but just tell me HOW you keep being nice and calm. That's all. Sorry for mememe.

cep my friend's daughter has had the grommet op, it was totally fine, it's very low risk, and the results were miraculous.

collie good luck for today, and hihp good luck for tomorrow.

cep · 04/05/2011 12:54

collie hon you really are as bad as me. Smile i'm sure you'll be fine, i know what you mean about the cramps though. am keeping fx for you.

took ds to see his ent consultant this morning, and it turns out he has had some hearing loss due to the constant glue ear he's had for at leats a year and half. So looks like he may have to have the grommet op, the consultant even mentioned possibly giving him hearing aids temporarily, but he didn't go into that. Waiting now for a letter from the surgery team. Wonderful, something else to worry about.

dooscooby · 04/05/2011 10:41

Good luck with the scan today collie. I hate the late ones, yesterday I was the same and after doing all the ironing (I figured better to do something I hate whilst stressing, rather than just stressing!), I put on the tv and found I fell asleep! Think the stressing and the full on weekend had just worn me out.
Anyway, fingers crossed for you x

Collie2 · 04/05/2011 10:25

Minnie yay on the great scan that's super news. Why do you have to wait till 18wks? No 12 wk scan?

izzy I too am v Angry for you. I hope you get it sorted and agree you should push hard to get what you want, you shouldn't have to go private for the standard of care you need.

blackkat thanks for the mat rights advice. To be fair I don't really know where I stand so it's helpful to hear that and once I've annouced my pg at work I plan to neet with our HR director to discuss my options. One thing that reassurces me is that noone will want to get rid of the pg lady- way to risky, but it gets complicated bcs by April 2013 my organisation will be abolished so anyone left that hasn't been slotted into new organisations will be made redundant, and I'll be off until about jan '13. But it's really too long off and so uncertain at the mo that I've given up worrying about it.

daisy life in the public sector is a tough call at the mo isn't it- apparently we're the devil... Or so it sometimes feels!
How was your first day back?

harassed after all you've been through it's completely understandable that your worried, but your symptoms fading is not necc all doom. Glad you've got a scan tomorrow - how far are you? X

Ok, I'm sat at home petrified!!!! Scan not till 4.20!!! I should be working from home but dh took the my laptop charger to work and the battery is dead so I'm sat with nothing to do but stress, waiting for him to come back!!! So scared. I've been getting cramps today- first time in weeks!! Talk about shit timing! It's so scary thinking about the scan, knowing that today my world could come tumbling down all over again!! Sad

cep · 04/05/2011 09:46

minnie so pleased your scan went well.

hihp symptoms come and go, fx for tomorrow, please try not to worry too much. Smile
