Oh Keziah that's terrible - really hope you feel better soon. Have they said when you can come home?

Buyouts I recommend it. Works for lots of people but I found it took the stress out.
I am writing this from hospital as I collapsed, dr called ambulance and thankfully it noy not stroke they thought. Out of hdu but missed most of fertile time! Weak on left side but can see again. Been stressful. Welcome to nee people. Using phone so bit tricky to post

Hmmm, 12 days of high now - think I'll ignore the stick requests and save myself the sticks for next month. My stupid imbalanced hormones are confusing my little white friend(CBFM that is!)

Am still riiculously hopeful that the continued high level of estrogen is due to me actually being pg - will hold off testing until next week when AF due (she says whilst thinking that as certain ov'd early, there should be enough HCG by the weekend.......)

Molly I still get excited when I see a change in status - well done!

Thanks SBC: I got a high this morning, and was ridiculously proud of myself! (Although I have to go away this weekend, for work, without DP, so I'm hoping that we can get enough SWI in on Friday evening, and Sunday evening, when I return, to cover the fertile period...)

Morning all. I'm on day 5 of my cycle, so no POAS required at the moment i.e. nothing to report. Just trying to stay positive.

@buggerlugs82 - this is only my second month of using it. I had high hopes that it might be a miracle cure last month and we'd conceive straight away. Didn't happen and I've no idea if it will make any difference but it makes me feel like I'm doing something useful.

Molly the first few months can be confusing with the CBFM -last month mine went from low to peak with no highs at all - I am currently on meds to regulate hormones, so body throwing all sorts into the mix!

Stick with it, it is a lot easier to track than other methods, but many use it in conjunction with charting - which confirms the ovulation when the CBFM predicts it.

I find it especially angering and frustrating when the people that I know who have become pregnant did so accidentally. One girl I know is pregnant with twins from a one night stand.. the dad wants nothign to do with it, and my other friend found out she was pregnant after leaving her emotionally abusive boyfriend and is now still with him 30 weeks pregnant with a baby she wasnt wanting at the time.. i feel horrible for having these feelings, but grrrrr! On the other hand I am EXTREMELY happy for friends and family who are currently pregnant after trying for so long.. i am still envious, but so happy :)

Thanks for the welcome littlefan. Other people being pregnant is horrible, isn't it. Another friend got pregnant just after me and then I had the MC, so her DD is a couple of weeks younger than mine would have been. A constant reminder about what a nice age gap it would have been between my DD and number 2. Now I'll be lucky if it's less than four years between them, if we manage to have another one at all...

I know there'll be ups and downs but today I'm on a down. Just want to get under the duvet and watch tv but can't because I've got to get DD up from her nap in a minute and entertain her all afternoon!

Thank you so much for all the advice - I'm so glad you all think stopping charting might not be the best option....I actually feel closer to getting a better picture of the situation when I do it.

boba interesting fact about the low GI diet. Will think about that - food and stress is an issue for me anyway with my IBS....

ElmMum I totally sympathise with you - I am sitting at an empty bank fo desks at work now as three people around me have all gone off on mat leave - should have been me as I had an early MC last summer....grrrrr

GP also suggested that being surrounded by pregnant women at work all week - might have influenced my cycle. I think she might be right in this case (although some may say it's flakey) cos my cycle has been totally off track since last summer!!

Pretty sure AF is on the way - all I want to do is eat chocolate and chips!! (not at the same time mind!!)

We're TTC number 2, Cycle 4, CBFM cycle 2, age 39 (sigh), UCL 30/31 (with the occasional 28/29 thrown in for good measure), CD4

I had a MC at 10 weeks last Feb which knocked us for six. We didn't start TTC again til this Jan because I'm at college and the timing was all wrong. Now I wish we'd just started straight after MC.

I'm trying to stay positive but I have a gloomy feeling about it all. One of my friends has just told me she's three months pregnant. Her first is younger than my first and I feel insanely jealous. Just really really wish I was three months pregnant. :(

Hi all! Can I join? DP and I are TTC#1 - we're relative newbies to this. Only on cycle 2 of TTC, and cycle 1 of CBFM. My stats:

MollyDefoe TTC#1, Cycle 2 CBFM cycle 1, age 31, UCL 31?, CD 14

I think my cycles are taking a while to settle down after having the mirena coil removed 3 months ago. The first cycle (when we were still using contraception, but I was charting), I ov-ed CD16; last cycle I ov-ed CD20, but was ill from CDs 16-18, so I thought this probably delayed ovulation. I'm not sure what's happening this cycle! I would have expected to ov on CD16, but I'm on CD14 now, and I'm still getting lows on the CBFM (but I started to get watery CM 2 days ago). How soon before ovulation should the monitor go to 'high' fertility? Is it sometimes a bit weird the first cycle of using it? Any advice gratefully received!

littlefan I was told by a consultant that stress can affect fertility, but it does this by delaying ovulation which messes with SWI'ing at the right time. If you're charting, and you know you're ovulating, and the CBFM is correlating with all this, then I think you can conclude you're not so stressed that its affecting your fertility! I think you need to weigh up which will stress you more - not knowing month to month if you ovulated etc, or keeping up the charting and monitoring. And I second what others have said here: your GP is not a fertility expert!

Littlefan, glad your initial blood results ok - that is encouraging. Telling you to stop charting and using monitor acutally goes against what the gynaecologist told me when we had our nhs referral - as they looked at what I had done, saw how serious I was, listened to my issues and investigated!!! 4 months sounds about average for initial referral, but after that there are lots of other things they look at - just read what KC has found out only through nhs internal tests and dr's etc!! So, frustrating - but very few Gp's are good at infertility, hence the need for referral. When referred they may do more bloods - and they know what they are looking for - another semen analysis, a transvaginal scan to check if any obvious internal issues and then a HSG which checks if fallopian tubes blocked - which may be an issue and can be dealt with. Equally you could just take a bit longer, like ChoccieChip did. Enjoy holiday and it will be referral time soon. Oh - my only tip, phone the place where you referred to and pop yourself on the cancellation list, you never know they may have a gap!!

I had appointment with GP today to discuss my blood test results. All normal - no signs of PCOS, I am ovulating as far as they are concerned. Blaming it all on my stress levels. Told me to chill out and stop charting...I CAN'T DO IT!!! I am a control freak and don't have any control of this situation other than charting! So need to make a call on continuing to use the monitor etc.
On holiday next week to Portugal - so will start to try distance myself then....
She has made a referral now anyway - it'll be about 4 months before we get to see anyone. She says most people get lucky while they wait for the appt -knowing me - I will be too busy obsessing at the letterbox!
