WTTC Apr/May/Jun Graduation thread

Hey, this is a thread for all the graduates from the Waiting to TTC thread who are going to start trying April/May/June. We've all got to know each other too well to just bugger off on our separate ways now! And if any of the Waiting crew who are still waiting want to pop by there will always be cups of tea (or something stronger) for you!

So, grab your folic acid and your sexy undies and get comfy (possibly with your legs in the air...?)

Testing new name - FX!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/04/2011 16:52

Hey ladies.

Cakes Grin at you being a broody mare. Also I will be getting a Graco carseat with auto lock for the car and seperate buggy. As I can't stand babys being kept in a car seat when ppl go shopping so not good for baby or their organs being all squished up.

JS I think ShaggingWithIntent is good.

Ladies, Ebay is a great place for baby things. Esp buggys. Expect i'll be getting mine from there I want a Jane, or loola.

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 16:51

LOL Cakes - Lentil weaving.... harharhar! I like the idea of a sling though as it'll be much easier for just popping to the shops that a bloomin travel system. I'm afraid that I can see myself being a very non organic mummy and will probably be the one most likely to be found driving a Chelsea tractor with boden clad kids and a puppy in tow..... Blush

I thought that £500 was pretty good value (shows how little I know!!) The Stokke one DH has found is about £900 Shock!!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 16:37

ShaggingWithIntent ?

either than or the NoLonger one :-)

Am I alone in thinking a separate care seat and buggy arrangement is more economically viable? I am a total cheapskate I know, but those travel systems are like - five hundred squid!!!

Anyway - I want to be a lentil weaving sling-wearing mummy ;-)

Hahaha! I think men either get this stuff or really can;t understand how expensive it all is. I am lucky in a way that DH is Obsessed with having the top of the range kit for anything and so Baby Just will be spoilt rotten!!!

Think that I need to name change now that I am not JustShagging anymore. Suggestions please?

very nice! I'm quite liking the iCandy apple at the moment! And it's in chrome! oooooooooooooo i have no idea how much that is but the other half has been told to expect to pay more for a pram/travel system than what my car is worth! And he thought i was joking when he looked into it! lol when the time comes my bambino is being pushed around in style and comfort! lol

JustShaggingForNow · 05/04/2011 15:32

Oooh - DH already knows more than he really should about prams and is (bless him) His latest pram crush is the Stokke (about which I knew nothing until I looked it up online!!)

It's no wonder he was putting off TTC for financial reasons when he looks at the top of the range stuff!!

melliebobs · 05/04/2011 14:25

js ah weve all done it. I keep losing my time pram/carseat shopping on the Internet. Talk about getting ahead of myself! But they are all so shiny, techie and gadgety looking! DH thinks I'm a bit sad but I cought him eying one up the other week when were walking the dog!!!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 13:52

JS - yes, he seemed to think it was funny too. Git. ;-)

And after my little luxuriate in the cast-offs I have banned myself from doing anything but knitting and taking folic acid to 'prepare' until I'm actually upduffed... or maybe just until we're TTC... we'll see ;-)

The White Company is dangerous - so many pretty but painfully expensive things!

Cakes Sorry but I can't help giggling at your DH calling you a brood mare.... Grin

I am resisting the urge to actually go into baby shops although I have been known to spend hours looking at casually browse the mamas and papas, white company and john lewis websites for baby clothes, nursery furniture etc etc etc. Blush

melliebobs · 05/04/2011 10:06

Cheers for the link! Line 3 sold it! (I'll read the rest later) bob in to Tesco later n get him some n make sure he has them too!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 05/04/2011 10:02

You can get fluorescent vit C and zinc pills (sorry, I mean effervescent, but DH calls them fluorescent because, well, they are!)

I haven't got mine taking zinc, he's just on multivits, maybe I should get some for him. He's really excited about the idea of a baby. This morning he thought it would be funny to ask me if I was on heat yet, then proceeded to refer to me as a brood mare and him as a stud. Har de har. I was unimpressed. Especially because I'm all hormonal and grouchy atm!

Went through those baby clothes from my friend last night - they are very cute. Lots of t-shirts with diggers on and dungarees with rockets - good thing I'm not all 'pink is for girls'... though I wouldn't object to the odd frilly dress :-)

Wonder what it'll be... when we get there. Dammit. I'm getting ahead of myself again. Bah, better get back to my transcription work. So dull

benefits of zinc ;)

melliebobs · 05/04/2011 09:34

what are the benefits of DH taking zinc?

bebejones · 05/04/2011 08:51

I know my DH hasn't been taking his zinc Hmm they should have run out in Feb but there is about half a pot left!! Apparently they get stuck in his throat! Hmm Hmm He should try taking my Omega ones they are the size of horse pills!!! Men!!

JS - You have given me hope that these Men can change their mind!! :)

JustShaggingForNow · 04/04/2011 23:05

Wow! Busy in here tonight!

Congrats on your wedding melie fabulous news. Also a great list Bebe I know my DH will be quite excited about the clothes shopping and probably everything else as he loves gadgets and also interior design (people have refered to him as my gay husband!!!)

I explained the benefits of zinc to him last night. I have had him taking it for months for other health reasons and when I told him of the TTC benefits he said I should have told him sooner and then he could have made sure he took it every day. At which point I pointed out that had I told him it was good for sperm production he'd have refused to take them. I took his sheepish silence as confirmation that I was correct!!!

However, I think he's determined to give cycle 1 a really good chance (as we only have 2 days a week together and so the chances of hitting fertile time are slim, he wants to try everything to get updiffed asap) so is taking them every day from now on!! Bless. Who would have though it when this time last year there were tears and tantrums from me and he was super stubborn!! Proof that time can change things.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 04/04/2011 19:44

Congrats on your wedding :)

melliebobs · 04/04/2011 19:41

Hey Darcie

Yup baby #1 for us! We've been together for 7 years and we always said we wanted kids but we wanted to get the practical stuff done to put us in a realistic (for us) position to go for it. Finally got maried 2 months ago so there's no better time than now :)

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 04/04/2011 19:31

Welcome Melliebobs
You'll get used to the acronyms and MN is very addictive.

So is this baby no 1 for you and your DH?

melliebobs · 04/04/2011 19:28

Ooo i'm new to these forums (all these acronyms are very confusing but hey ho) but yey there's a thread i can get involved with that isn't hundres of posts long! As of 25th march me and DH thought sod it lets start trying :) Sooooooooo excited :) EEEEEK :)

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 04/04/2011 18:04

Bebe Def agree with you on the blanket front, I slept with DDs blanket for about 6 wks before she was born so she could sense it was me when she needed to sleep, although little moo bag would only sleep on her front which was fine with the aid of a pillow to prop her up a little :)

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 04/04/2011 18:00

Cakes I washed DD in the sink when she was a baby.

I've kept all the neutral baby clothes, still got my steriliser, cot, Moses basket, soothers that DD didn't use, rattles, teething rings, muslin squares, her shawl.

Just need new bottles, breast pump, cow&gate formula and bouncer. :-D

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/04/2011 17:40

Well we don't have a bath here, so it'd be washing them in a sink or a washing up bowl! lol

I probably am getting a bit ahead of myself here, but just so excited to be nearly there!

As for baby clothes I have the hand-me-downs from my friend, a little cardie I knitted and couldn't bear to give away and a little white hat is on my needles atm...

Hey Ladies

I enjoyed boiled egg and toast at the weekend, hoping if I've been lucky this week/month then I won't be able to enjoy for 9mths :(

Bebe I see you didn't have much luck with Dh at the weekend, hopefully you'll be able to soon x
