cep, collie, blackkat hope all is going well this evening

chloe, bumpwanted, really, ymotb, melies and anyone else i have missed

Bumpwanted · 01/04/2011 19:22

Cep and Collie sorry to hear you are feeling stressed Sad We're all thinking of you guys and sending you lots and lots of positive vibes. I hope you can take your mind off things over the weekend and then next week you get some reassurance.

MumTum I agree with the others too. Do another test in the morning and don't leave it in a pot beforehand. You are still so early that I am sure its just some tests are picking up the hormones quicker than others.

Melies glad to hear there is no bleeding and wishing you a fun weekend Wink

xx

Reallyusefulengine · 01/04/2011 19:05

Best wishes from me too back once again

Cep Am thinking of you. Am so sorry you are going through this anguish and hope you have lots of support in RL this weekend before the scan. I imagine that the lack of sleep you've had recently isn't helping you feel positive. Also wanted to say thank you for looking after me and introducing me to this thread in the first place. A big hug and FX for you.

Mumtum agree with Melies on this, and also yrmotb. Thinking of you. Hope you get some rest before the morning.

yrmotb Thank you for the temping advice. Can I ask what happens if you don't always wake up at the same time? Can you still do temps? Can you get DH to do it for you (am really short sighted, wear lenses so wouldn't be able to read them!)

cep · 01/04/2011 18:16

boa good luck with everything. Grin

mel Grin thanks. xx

meliesmummy · 01/04/2011 18:09

yrmotb hi how are you doing? not in pain getting the odd ache, it's just a feeling i've got. Just pessimistic thoughts really.

stitch welcome and sorry for your loss.

mel have fun tonight.

collie dh keeps telling me not to be stupid as i haven't had anymore blood, but i just can't shake it. It was the second scan last time that brought the bad news so maybe it's just that.

sorry not to name check am really tired, ds woke up at 2:20 again this morning, i had hoped it had passed. Sad

Youremindmeofthebabe · 01/04/2011 17:16

Ha. Go on melies!

meliesmummy · 01/04/2011 17:14

No bleeding today yrmotb, thanks for asking. Good job too, got big plans for later! Wink Wink!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 01/04/2011 16:58

Afternoon all.

Sorry to see new people here. I find it quite distressing when our numbers swell. Usually they go down again quite quickly, so FX for some BFP's soon!

Like many of you I started off not temping, charting opk-ing. I did that for 3 months. I then decided to temp in order to check that I was actually ovulating, seeing as I have some pcos symptoms, and I was, so I did that for 3 months. Now just opk, with an occasional temp here and there to check I'm on the right track. temping can get full on as it's something you must do every day before you get out of bed, so quite consuming. I would definately try to wing it for a while before getting into temping.

collie and cep are you both in pain?Sad Hopefully just some growing pains, hope you feel better soon.

mumtum I see from here and the freakout you're in a bit of a limbo? Good luck with the FMU tomorrow, if you store wee it can deplete hcg by 50% per 12 hours, so if it was borderline before, iyswim, it could have depleted on its own. Good luck for tomorrow.

melies has the bleeding settles again? I had random mid cycle bleeding here and there for a couple of cycles after the mc, it seemed to settle down after that though, it's a royal PITA and not very enjoyable.

Waves to all, hope you're all well and full of the joys of springtime! (I amGrin)

Reallyusefulengine · 01/04/2011 16:58

Stitch Welcome and sorry for your loss in January. What is antiphospholipod syndrome? Sorry to hear you have to do daily shots - it must feel v. tender.

Collie Am so sorry you are so worried about the pains and wish you felt better about it. Will be thinking of you on Monday too. Don't worry if you don't feel in the headspace for answering questions, but did you find the grapefruit juice made a difference? xx

Blakkat Agree, would be lovely to see you on the list!

Wow, thank you everyone for the lists and the tips. Fantastic to know, will read later when there's time.

Melies Lovely muffins. Thank you!

stitchinline · 01/04/2011 16:32

Hi melies I have tested with internet cheapie this morning - BFN. Am a bit of a POAS addict and have quite a collection! My excuse is that because of the drugs I need to know ASAP to get the dosage right :o

meliesmummy · 01/04/2011 16:30

Oh collie, if I was with you I would give you a big un mn hug. I wish I could make you feel better. Will be thinking of you on Monday x

really Grin at the gardening outfit!!!

It'll be great to see you on the bfp list blackkat!

Freelance I find tescos ones work well, £7 for 7.

Hi stitch, welcome! Have you tested this month yet?

I just baked muffins, I'll put some out for everyone. Burnt my finger :(

Collie2 · 01/04/2011 16:26

Just quick post (from work loos Blush ) here is a link to info on supplements. I took evening primrose oil b4 ov and flaxseed after, selenium, zinc and folic. Dh took zinc, selenium, fish oils and L-Arginine. I also drank grapefruit juice b4 ov for cm, and both of us ate brazil nuts.

Also see here for SMEP -sperm meets egg plan

Despite best efforts still mentalling worrying over pains. cep I have a bad feeling too Sad fx we're both wrong.

Will catch up proper later

stitchinline · 01/04/2011 16:08

Wondered if I might join you, had a MC at 7 weeks end of Jan. Was really awful and am still very sad about it but am back TTC. Had AF and am now in my 2WW ? OV?d on CD21. Have been lurking around and have found it so helpful when MC was happening that thought I should post myself.
I do have antiphospholipod syndrome so that means am more likely to MC but had hoped that with all the drugs I was being pumped with I might have got lucky.
Because we wanted to try again straight away after the MC have been kept on both the heparin and aspirin instead of going back onto warfarin). Is ok but getting quite sore from the 2 x daily shots!
my stats stitchinline TTC#1, Cycle 1, UCL 33, CD28

Bumpwanted · 01/04/2011 16:05

Really I had only thought of what I would be wearing (not much and lace) and not what DH would be wearing....oooh so many options....am thinking maybe pilot or that white outfit Richard Gere has on in the end of that film (name escapes me at the moment). At the moment gardener doesn't do it for me but as the months progress, if I don'tget pregnant, I will certainly give it further thought!

For those lovely ladies who've had their BFP after a MC....can you tell me how long (roughly) it took?

I got pregnant on the first non try first time around and I have no doubt that we won't be so lucky this time. I know everyone is differnet but just a ballpark figure would be nice!

Blackkat · 01/04/2011 15:48

to everyone - sorry mental day at work, glad to hear that there is some positive BFN news, for this, and for this time only.

Will repost later as think I should move myself to a different list!

Reallyusefulengine · 01/04/2011 15:37

Freelance I bought internet cheapies online, which worked fine. I think they were about £5 for a months supply. I did use the more expensive ones too (£10ish for a month's supply?), but seemed no better. I will try and remember what site I used, will have to buy some more too. Ebay sells them too.

Oh, never knew that about thyroid problems. My mum takes thyroxine for an over active thyroid. Maybe I should get it checked. Or just take selenium anyway, and brazil nuts!

Angela Maybe we should have a new list on the stats for 'Admirers of Mr Bloom'. Am feeling VERY pleased I have kept away from Facebook. So tactless.

Off to buy full gardeners outfit for DH. Grin.

freelancegirl · 01/04/2011 15:19

Selenium (and am assuming this why Melies is eating Brazil nuts as they are full of it) is said to help keep thyroid antibodies down. They are said to sometimes be a cause of mc. I know mine are high as I also take thyroxine for a thyroid prob. Am 'normal' with my thyroid hormones but high antibodies. Might be worth getting it checked for non-thyroid people too.I didn't take it last time and am kicking myself thinking I should have done.

Gosh your experience with OPK sounds good. I have no idea when I am ovulating! My cycle is between 28 and 38 days usually but has been up to 45 days (a while ago though). Usually is around 33 and I think I was ovulating when it is commonly thought I should when I got pg. Might be worth checking though!

What kit should I buy? Do I have to get a v expensive one?

Angela Damn stupid facebook friends. I have had a couple of scan pics on my page today too - which am assuming aren't april fool's.

Reallyusefulengine · 01/04/2011 15:12

Melies Ooh, my DD took 15 months to conceive. Started using OPKs after 6 months and found I was ovulating day 21 in a regular 28 day cycle. 2 months before I conceived her i started taking vitamin B and still ovulated day 21. Had my reflexology appt and that month it went from day 21 to day 14! And got pregnant. My reflexologist was a friend and she's my DDs godmother, that's how much I think it worked! Was also using conceive plus. Must look into the vitamin c and brazil nuts.

With the mc I did seem to ov on day 15. Oh well.

This time around I will definately use OPKs for a month to make sure I ovulate on a decent day. And hope the acupuncture works too. I say a month, I will be using OPKs for as long as it takes and get totally sucked into the POAS world!

freelance Good to know you're getting back into a RL routine though. So great you got to the gym. What does selenium do? Is that specific to you?

I can see that I will be spending the next however long taking 800 vitamins, nuts etc!

Bump Sounds like a nice way to do it, I think my DH would be alot more comfortable with that approach.

angela85 · 01/04/2011 14:55

Really...there is nothing wrong with Mr Bloom!!!
I wasn't planning on waiting for AF, however if this UTI persists it may work out that way.
Harrassed... I've had the same thing today on FB 4 friends have decided that a good april fools is to tell everyone they're pregnant, I'm trying to ignore their insensitivity, and lack of creativity!!!
Glad you two got your BFNs too. xxx

meliesmummy · 01/04/2011 14:52

And im not going anywhere near fertlity friend because i know that I will end up obsessed with it!

OP posts:
meliesmummy · 01/04/2011 14:50

really no, I never wanted to jump mr bloom! Hehe! There's a chart in the box. I don't think I've ov'd yet though because I only did 16ish days ago but my body is so messed up who knows?! I think last month I just had a pathetic luteal phase so I could well have had a fertilised egg in there that never had the chance to implant which is very frustrating! I hope it doesn't happen again, I'm hoping the reflexology sorts me out! As for our 'routine' we both take multivits, me pregnacare conception, dh wellman conception (cheap on amazon), and dh also takes 1000mg vitamin c (with reminding!), and we both eat brazil nuts. I use opks, usually from day 10 (I like tescos ones) then we dtd either daily or at least every other day for about a week, depending what the opks tell me. We started using conceive plus lubricant last month too (from boots). Hth!

OP posts:
freelancegirl · 01/04/2011 14:49

Hi Really and Bump I went back to the gym this week. Felt REALLY good afterwards, even though it was a lot less than I did before. But then once I got home I was exhausted. Was going to go the next day but cancelled. It's frustrating to be doing less than before. I think I have about half a stone of pregnancy-gained weight to lose.

My strategy is probably the same as Bump's. I have thought about OPKs but don't think I will go down that route straight away. Taking Sanatogen pre-preg vitamins and Omega 3 already and also adding selenium now to help lower thyroid antibodies.

Am also waiting until after AF I think, but BFN is a good start. What's yours Really? Do you think we should really go down the OPK route?
