Hi Melliesmummy - thanks for that - so just went and did another test now - a cbdigi one I had left over and it said 1-2 weeks - I would be 6 weeks by now (had major bleeding last Thurs - Sun then nothing for a week) so obviously hormone levels are just taking a while to go down still so guess that means I couldnt be getting AF yet and it must be more mc.....argh need to move on from this one!! Just want to get a bfn and next AF so can wait for next cycle and try again - sorry to rant on.....lovely to read all your news on this thread and see everyone's different stages x

meliesmummy · 03/04/2011 19:44

Hi secure, glad you are feeling positive.

Sorry collie I meant to say earlier that I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, what time is your appointment? All the best wishes in the world xxx

OP posts:
meliesmummy · 03/04/2011 19:42

mopey, how long is it since your mc started? I got to 11 weeks so would have probably had higher pg hormone levels than you and I had a negative test 2 1/2 weeks later and af a few days after that. But the fact that you had a positive on tues suggests that it's probably still your mc sorry. Could you do a test and see what it says now? Fx for your scan x

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of activity for a while - things have been really busy and I have now gone back to work. Less time for mn Sad.

Big congratulations to all the new BFPs, and so sorry for all the new people on the thread.

Good news for me this weekend. My first post-mmc AF arrived on Friday - exactly 4 weeks and 1 day after the ERPC. It has been pretty vile and heavy, but I am just very relieved that it is here, and has arrived in such a regular fashion. My cycle was always 28/29 days, so I am glad that the mmc hasn't thrown my body off completely. Also another emotional breakthrough: my best friend gave birth to her baby girl today and instead of getting the gut-wrenching "oh god" feeling that I had been getting when seeing pregnant ladies, I am geniunely thrilled. Not even a little bit jealous - which is a big breakthrough for me. I am feeling really positive about things now. I just wanted to let all of the new ladies know that it really does get better with time. 4 weeks on from the ERPC I am focussing on the positive things: I have booked lots of tickets to shows, nights out, etc. All my friends with children keep telling me to enjoy myself whilst I can still go out regularly. A few weeks ago this felt like a kick in the stomach, but I have decided to take their advice! Like freelancegirl said in another thread, it is really important to find the good in every situation. Maybe it is just the onset of spring and a few decent days of good weather, but I am feeling very perky today. Just wanted to pass on some of the good feeling Grin.

Hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend!

mopey · 03/04/2011 19:31

Hello all - sorry did pop in here last week at the end of my mc and then been rather distracted.....quick question for any of you who might know.....finished bleeding last Sunday - did a test on Thursday and still got a bfp - phoned gp who has arranged for me to have a scan this Wed coming, but I know that I am not pg as lost all symptoms and really bled a lot - today started to bleed again - is this AF? wouldnt that be too soon, so is it still mc??? just want to get on with ttc again - was only 5 weeks. Need to really stop thinking about it all so much!! Sorry to bombard you with this when new to thread but would love some advice from all those who are ahead of the game!
Hope you all had a lovely day.

Blackkat · 03/04/2011 19:27

mel sorry x post (bcs it took me so long to type!) Hope you've had a good day too x

Blackkat · 03/04/2011 19:19

porp hope it's good news, I'm sure you said you'd already had one AF, so FX it's good news.

Collie your mum is talking about Betty's which is good and lovely, but there is always a bloody big queue outside the mainshop , there's a smaller version (less 20's themed) on Stonegate round the corner which more often than not has tables. I don't think you can book ahead at either.

If you're set on afternoon tea, Betty's really is best for that traditional experience, but if you're looking for somewhere to have lunch then try Le Langhe or Meltons Too, both have websites and do very, very good food (and aren't really on the tourist trail, so don't tell everyone!) The cafe at City Screen on Coney Street has good river views too.

There's a beautiful old church, Holy Trinity on Goodramgate, which is a quiet and really tranquil place. I head there for a break from the crowds sometimes. Lots of good shops too Grin. Have a really lovely time.

meliesmummy · 03/04/2011 19:02

blackkat and collie I'm glad that despite the difficult times you've been having lately you managed to have a good day with your mums.

freelance I've got Lesley regans book, it's good but I found it's very much aimed at people who have had recurrent mcs, it scared me a bit to be honest because it goes into all the causes, I was looking more for something that would tell me about the causes but also recovery. So if you read it try not to self diagnose like I did!

porp how frustrating for you. I hope that your results give you some answers and that you get support from your gp. Fx it's good news x

Thanks blackkat suggestions would be great. Last time we had afternoon tea was after a spa day in lovely hotel for her birthday. Think I prefer that idea as have relaxing surroundings but she was up that way recently and noticed they did afternoon tea in the city. Don't know the name of the place, but the restraunt that always has a queue outside. She suggested there. Have you ever been.... If you know what I'm on about???

porpentine remind me when your mc was? Have you had AF since? Or a bfn? Good that they're looking into it. Could be retained products but fx it's something more positive.....it's not unheard of! Let us know what the results say.

freelancegirl · 03/04/2011 18:20

OOh Collie you are good with all those mentions. The trailer for Killing Bono looks funny. Big wave to everyone from me too! :) Hope those who are mothers already are having a nice mother's day and to those of us who aren't, hope you are all having a nice day too. I got ragingly drunk last night, ate nothing but crisps for lunch and then chips for dinner with lots of post-mc-sorrow-drowing wine, so didn't get up until 12.30pm today! Just been to the gym though and feeling pretty good now.

Lily Sorry you are not feeling good today. That is one of my fears about ttc again too as I did it quite casually last time and I am pretty sure once I start doing it 'properly' I will obsess about everything.

My current obsession is with the 8lbs I have put on over the 12 weeks I was pg. Very annoying now I don't have a baby to look forward to making that seem worthwhile. Must stop eating chips for dinner :)

Today I bought Lesley Regan's Miscarriage one off amazon and also Is Your Body Baby Friendly (see mild obsession starting even before ttc...) both recommended on various threads here. I just want to read up about these things as much as possible. Do any of you have any good experiences with these books or others?

Hope all having a lovely weekend xx

porpentine · 03/04/2011 18:13

Hello again, gosh this thread moves fast and I was away for the weekend anyway. Just to update, went to the doctors on Friday morning and had a "strongly positive" pregnancy test. Not sure this is good news though, the doctor seemed extremely perturbed by the whole thing as was less than 3 weeks since last period, which seems crazy. So it might be leftover from the last one, and they've done a blood test to measure, I presume, hcg levels and are going to ring me supposedly. Not really sure what to do now, feeling quite sick over the weekend and have extremely sore breasts but also quite a lot of mostly brown but slightly pink cm.

Glad people are having a nice weekend - hope everything's ok with mumtum and pleased to hear mel's gunk is clearing up.

Blackkat · 03/04/2011 17:54

Collie your day sounds nice, what a lovely thing to do together. Have you got somewhere in mind in York? Have some recommendations if helpful as it's v close to me. x

Collie2 · 03/04/2011 17:49

Happy mothers day to all you lovely already mums, hope you're being spoilt. Here's fx for the rest of us that next year it's our day too Smile

Glad no more blood or gunk mels and at least you can focus on dtd. Are you using opks? How did the Easter Hunt go? Sounds really lovely. The rest of your day yesterday sounds lovely and your girls night next week sounds good. Hope you had a lovely mums day today, although shame you got wet!

Cep your day yesterday sounds lovely too. What have you dove today?

lily I am so Sad to hear you are so down. I think trying to keep your mind focused on other things is a really good idea, but you know if you need to come in here and vent or be sad, that's ok. Don't worry about having to catch up. I hope you get your bfp very soon, I know what it's like to desperately want to start your family and new life. Xx

mumtum I really hope you're ok, and are just having such a lovely weekend that you've not had time to venture on mn. Thinking of you. ((hugs))

blackkat that's a really nice thing you did for you dps. I sm sure it was a lovely break for them. Love the sound of your evening, I'm sat watching trashy chick flick Smile as dh still not back from taking his dm out.

Went to the cinema last night to watch killing Bono, very funny. Can recommend!

Made mum breakfast (well brunch by the time I got there) fir mum this morning and been there all day. She's been ok, Considering. She made me an photo albumn for my 30th of all the years before that and left 2 pages at the back for pictures of my 1920's party. That was almost 18months ago and I'd still not done it so we did that today. It was nice. Taking her fir afternoon tea in York in a few week instead Smile

chloe how are you darling?

Hi mel hope you've got your feet up ready for this evening Wink

Have had a lovely day - taken my DP's out to see some lovely gardens and made them lunch, made me feel like I was doing something nice for them. They seemed pleased to get out for a bit. Think all the hosp trips are difficult for them both. I'm knackered tho bcs was at a hen do last night and didn't get home til 1.00. Have just lit a fire and am sitting with the cat watching crap tv, DH still on stag do....

Hope today was ok for your mum Collie?

to Cep, Olis, Lily, Mumtum, Chloe and everyone else - hope you've all had lovely days

meliesmummy · 03/04/2011 16:30

Good afternoon, hope you are all having a nice Sunday. We got soaked at a showcave, dd had a great time though, and we met my parents there. We're all worn out, I've got dh doing the hoovering while I have a sit down. He came in after 2 this morning, I hope I can keep his energy up for tonight! Wink.

lily i'm sorry you're feeling so low at the moment. is good that you're doing things to distract yourself. (((hugs)))

mel i'm like that. have even slept with bedside light on it's lowest dimming setting. Ds woke at aboput 11:50 took about 10 mins to get back to sleep, then woke at 3:45 and climbed into bed with me, i didn't have the energy to take him back. Blush

Blackkat · 03/04/2011 09:42

lily so sorry you're having such a tough time (((hugs))).

cep your day sounds busy yesterday but lovely all the same, mel hope your quiet night in was enjoyable, and that you did get some sleep?

minnie I think your plan about DTD post day 8 - might be less stressful than using CBFM - though tiring I would imagine!

mumtum if you're lurking (((((big hugs))))) thinking of you xxx

Hope all of you out there that are already mums are spoilt rotten today !

meliesmummy · 02/04/2011 22:18

Hi lily, im sorry to hear that you are having a hard time at the moment. I dont temp because I know that I would get obsessed with it, you sound like you could do with a break from it, are you cycles regular, has ff given you a pattern that you can work with without having to do it all month?

Good night Cep, hope you get a lie in tomorrow x

I'm off to bed, probably won't sleep properly though, I'm a right wimp about every noise when dh is out!

Evening ladies,

Sorry its been so long since I've been on here. Huge congrats for all the recent bfps. Hope you are all doing really well. Haven't had chance yet to read back through this new thread yet.

Haven't felt much like being on here recently, just how I'm feeling, can't believe I will ever actually manage to start a family. I've stopped temping and FF for now as it was making me obsess, currently trying to distract myself with other things. Sorry for the mememe, and being so down-beat.

cep · 02/04/2011 21:33

mel that'll be nice. i was supposed to go out with a friend from work on friday but she cancelled. Sad was really disappointed cause i could really have done with an evening out and let dh put ds to bed for a change. oh well. I hope you have a good night. right i'm off to bed. goodnight sweet.

meliesmummy · 02/04/2011 21:17

Just a meal out at an Italian Cep, ive offered to drive because I've really cut down on drinking but I'm really looking forward to it, I haven't been out properly since the mc and it seems everyone I know is going out tonight, there's a hen do for a girl at work that was being organised when I mc so I didn't put my name down and even my parents are at a wedding!

OP posts:
cep · 02/04/2011 21:05

mel yes he loved it, they're good value cause they do a 3 return trips for price of 2, but by 3rd trip (which dh insists on) he's rather tired. there's a park half way round and you can get off and walk round a little lake there as well so is very nice on a warm day. i'm on my own tonight as dh sleeps in with dss, so if ds does wake up i think i'll give in and just let him kip in here. Blush
ooh what are you doing next week?

collie i hope tomorrow goes ok sweet.

meliesmummy · 02/04/2011 20:35

Glad you had more sleep last night Cep, fx it lasts! I keep seeing magpies in pairs, obviously because im about to get pg, nothing to do with it being spring at all! I think we might both need to start ignoring them...please don't let it worry you! Did your ds enjoy the railway? My dd loves trains, we're going on a postman pat day at the severn valley railway at Easter and she's very excited. We also bought her shoes today when I realised how tight her ballet shoes are.

I hope that you are able to enjoy tomorrow with your mum collie. any more pain?

I don't know about the cbfm sorry Minnie, I just use opks, mainly because since the mc my cycles are all over the place.

I'm home alone (apart from dd asleep upstairs of course!) dh has gone into town to see his friends band. My turn next weekend!

I hope you are ok mumtum.

I was pleased to hear your good scan news banana if you still lurk.

Hi girls

This thread moves fast if you miss a day, doesn't it!

mumtum hope everything is ok

Can i ask a question, please? I'm using a CBFM and have been since the mc in Nov (once it all got back to normal). I got pg with it first time after ten months of trying last time but obviously it's now been 4 cycles. I'm starting to get a bit downhearted with it all and wondered if I'd be better just turning it off! Maybe just dtd every other day from day 8 and not stress whether it's a peak day or not. CM seems to give pretty clear signs of ov anyway. Anybody any opinion?

Had a good day today- baking white chocolate and raspberry cake things for my mum tomorrow. First time I've ever baked anything (since i was ten anyway) Turned out great till dp tried to help getting it on the rack and it all fell to bits- tastes great though!

Have a lovely evening everyone xx

cep · 02/04/2011 17:48

evening all,

I was up at that time Grin but i just didn't have time to come on, had to go and collect dss, and went to get ds some trainers, went to eastleigh lakeside railway then out for dinner. kept seeing single magpies grrrr. Ds wasn't too bad woke up at 11:30 for a little while then slept through till nearly 7.

mels hope you have a lovely day hon.

mumtum are you ok sweetie?
