thank you ladies, sorry to be so silly, it's just that it hit me tonight how bad he's actually gotten.

rue we're away for the night on the 17th, my parents are looking after ds for me. hopefully i'll be able to get a goodnights sleep. i annoying he slept through last night but i still bloomin woke up at 4.

mel he used to go on reins, and i think i'll have to get them out, same as a booster seat that went on his chair which i can fasten him into, i think i'll have to start doing that again and just ignore the screaming. I used to do behaviour charts which was like a chore chart had a little list of what he needed to do (like stop shouting etc) and he got a little banana foam sweetie thing for each one he got a tick for. he loved ticking them. think i'll have to start that again.

brooke i really hope so.

brooke89 · 06/04/2011 20:05

cep your not a shit mum ( i know i dont know you but i can tell!ha ) it's just his age and he will grow out of it, hes just trying to test you! And you will cope with 2!! Try something like melies make a chart and give him a sticker everytime he is good and if hes naughty take one off!

meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 19:41

Of course

OP posts:
meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 19:41

Oh cep, it's his age! They all do it, and then they turn 3 and go back to being angels again! He's just testing his boundaries, it WILL get better. Will he go on reins/in a pushchair so that you know exactly where he is when you are by a road or somewhere you need to keep him next to you? I'm not sure what to suggest, I know that it sounds trite but all you can do is keep him safe when you need to and let him run it off when it's safe. We did a reward chart when dd was about that age, she needed 20 a week to get a magazine. I've also been known to just leave the room and let her scream it out when I'm at the end of my tether, or send her out. You will manage two, or course you will x

Cep Your DS sounds just like mine at that age, and just like my DD now! Don't worry, just keep him out of harm whilst he explores the world. My Ds was bonkers from birth so I never got to do any smug parenting to begin with! I think we're barred from most establishments in London! You will be fine, have you joined any threads for people expecting their 2nd (do they exist)? Cep. it's a bit sad that you aren't feeling over the moon following your scan yesterday - it would have been nice for you to have a couple of days (at least) of being a bit oblivious to anything but relief. I imagine you must be knackered, is there anyway you can get a break, even for a few hours? Wish you could have a lovely sleep, a nap, a rest. Sending a hug xxx

cep · 06/04/2011 18:49

laylas try a digital with fmu, they at least have it in writing, even if they're not as sensitive. i hate the lined ones.

chloe how's the job going are you enjoying it?

brooke glad you managed to talk to her about it.

my ds seems to have turned into the child who's parents i felt sorry for while i sat their smugly with my "perfectly" behaved 1.5 yr old, while they ran riot all over the restaurant. took him to the local hungry horse just down the road as dh is out tonight, he would not sit still, twice ran round to the pub side of the building, kept crawling under the table or along the bench. put him in the high chair and he can undo the belt so he just kept standing up, kept shouting on and off, and generally really embarrassing. Walking home and he ran off in the other direction towards to road, thankfully turned left not right so gate inbetween pavement and road, and ran onto a patch of grass where dog walkers let their dogs go to the toilet without picking it up, thankfully he missed it. How the hell am i going to cope with two if i can't even get 1 to behave. am suddenly very scared, and feeling very much like a shit mum and just don't know what to do, i just can't control him anymore. Sad

sorry to end with a mememe, just feeling really low. I know this isn't the behaviour thread but you ladies are like family.

meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 18:00

Chloe I hope it's your body teasing you and not af...well done for avoiding the sticks! Enjoy the garden, I did, a bit too much...I'm slightly sunburnt! I thought it's only April, can't be bothered, so it's my own fault!

Cep I know, I'm lucky, she loves her sleep, I usually have to wake her up at 3 otherwise she would stay there for hours!

laylas, oh no, fx for tomorrow, what brands are you using?

Brooke, glad you sorted it out with your friend.

Happy Birthday really ARe you doing anything nice?

Hopeful I am in Shock at your nurse, that is utterly unbelievable!! A def complaint should be made. She is in one of the most caring professions and has made you feel liek shit in about 2 seconds unneccessarily - what a twat! Sorry for my language, I am utterly appauled.

layla Try not to worry at the moment - some tests are more sensitive than others. Try a different one tomorrow morning. Good luck.

mumtum If you are still lurking then I am so so sorry Sad

Waves to everyone else.

Well, I keep trying to pretend I don't know what day I am on but I do know that this time last month I had already peed on 2 sticks! Grin Am still getting a tiny bit of midcycle bleeding when wiping like the past couple of months so I am pretty sure it hasn't happened again this month as everything seems to be doing the same thing as previous months, same pains, same type of bleeding, same type of symptoms so I am having a bet with myself and seeing if I can wait til Monday to either test or see if AF turns up, I am expecting her over the weekend so we shall see.

Am bloody knackered, have been monitoring an anaesthetic for the past 5 hours and my brain feels like it will explode so have treated myself to a glass of sparkly and sat in the garden for 15 mins.

Bumpwanted · 06/04/2011 16:39

Hi Melies nope it hasn't been discussed!! I am really not sure what I will do. Suspect it won't be discussed until after AF stops and we have to make a decision (probably in the middle of DTD!).

I think he thinks despite him airing his views about wanting to wait, that we will still be trying this month because he told me he would try. He seems to think as long as he says he will it doesn't matter to me if deep down I know he really doesn't want to try yet....I suppose it depends on how much that does matter to me....

brooke89 · 06/04/2011 16:20

hopeful i think that is awful! So unprofessional!!!

Thanks everyone, wierd how i've never met any of you but you've been more help than alot of my friends! The one i had a rant about yesterday....i called her and got things off my chest, felt alot better afterwards :) and she apologized!

Started a new job last week and can get on mumsnet on my computer :) You may find me posting here alot more now! Anyway im off to you the ovulation calculator woooo
xxxx

cep · 06/04/2011 15:28

stitch great news, congratulations and a trip to ny. wow have a fantastic time. Envy

rue happy birthday sweet. have lots of Wine maybe dh could take you out for a meal, if you don't fancy anything major.

mel never mind the sun the dd having a nap sounds blissful to me. Grin

stitchinline · 06/04/2011 14:59

Sounds lovely Melies I went out at lunch and it is just gorgeous outside.

Really No time as too much work to do before I go tonight but I do think it will be OK and not sure they would do much at this stage.

Thanks for all the good wishes

Reallyusefulengine · 06/04/2011 14:45

Stitch Fantastic news Grin. Do you think you can see your specialist this week before you fly. Mind you, agree that the drugs will do their job and keep you safe.

Melies sounds blissful

meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 13:08

Try not to worry about the flight stitch, like you say, you are on plenty of drugs. Have a fantastic time, I'm sure you will!

Hi bump, how are things? Have you come to a decision?

At the risk of making some if you jealous I am sitting on a deckchair in the garden enjoying the sun whilst dd has a nap.

Sorry and of course to everyone else, my brain is hopeless at the moment

Blackkat · 06/04/2011 12:42

Sorry ladies, I'm playing catch up at the moment. I didn't see Laylas post yesterday, but Grin Grin congratulations, what lovely news!

Hopeful Angry Angry on your behalf. I think your DH is right you do need to complain about that. All practitioners should know that it is as much the care they give you for your psychological wellbeing as your physical that helps a woman to conceive or to sustain a pregnancy. Your clinic will have a code of practice and she clearly fell well outside it.

Stitch NY and a line, fantastic news Grin Congratulations

to Mel, Chloe, Olis, Wellie, Rue and to YRMOTB

Bumpwanted · 06/04/2011 11:51

Morning ladies!

Happy Birthday Really!! I shall have a glass of vino for you tonight in celebration (any excuse!)

Stitch that is really great news Grin Congrats!!! I am sure you will be fine flying this early. Very jealous of your trip!!

Hopeful cannot believe that happened. I agree she should be reported. Some people are just so insensitive. I think I would have burst into tears if it had been me - that's what she deserves really so she can see the stress it can cause.

Brooke glad your AF has arrived! You are pretty much on the same cycle as me so we can be cycle buddies this month! Sorry about your insensitive friend. I have a friend who was super sensitive when she couldn't get pregnant and now she is pregnant she is totally oblivious to potentially upsetting others. I find that hard to believe given when she went through but she is just so excited for herself she seems to have forgotten how she felt before.

Hi to everyone else. I can't believe it is only Wed and there are still 2 and 3/4 days of work to go until the weekend. Ugh.

xxx

stitchinline · 06/04/2011 11:49

Thanks hopeful, I think the consultant just said that flying was a bit off limits because of my already "very sticky blood" and either I might get more clots or MC, but is is still very early so really not going to stress about it. Plus am sure I am taking enough drugs to prevent it :o

I plan to have a lovely time regardless and can't wait to eat myself silly!

hopeful1 · 06/04/2011 11:35

Stitch congratualtions Smile I am sooooo pleased for you. How lovely of your dh to take you to NY, so very jealous. I was told that flying does not increase risk of mc and just an old wives tale from when air stewardess's were grounded when pregnant which was proved unnecessary.

Have a lovely time

stitchinline · 06/04/2011 11:20

Thanks Melies - DH is taking me to New York, I really am incredibly lucky.

I do get a bit sad with not being able to talk to people about it but DH has been very supportive - just as well as he is the reason I am over here!

meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 11:10

Congratulations stitch!!! lovely news Grin,Grin!!!! where is dh taking you? Sounds lovely. :( that you haven't got anyone to talk it all through in rl though.

OP posts:
stitchinline · 06/04/2011 10:42

Really Happy birthday to you - it's mine on Saturday and I am just a little excited as DH taking me away.

This is a bit me me
Freaking out as POAS yesterday morning and very faint line, again this morning on CB digi and it says 1-2 weeks, eeek. Bit worried as technically not supposed to fly long haul if updiffed and 7 hours is borderline.

But it is still so early that I'm just going to try not to think about it too much - yeah right! Quite amazed that it happened so quickly this time and hoping it sticks around. DH was hilarious, started strutting around muttering about super sperm. FX it sticks.

Thankfully have an appointment with consultant next week anyway so can chat to her about the plan for this one, thinking it will be increased dosage on the injections as already on the aspirin and not sure there is much more they can do.

HopefulThat is awful, just so not funny at all.

Would like to say again how lovely you all are, I have lurked since my MC and have found it all so helpful and comforting that I am not alone in all this. I don't have many friends in RL in the UK (from Oz) and I haven't told anyone back home as just couldn't face it in the beginning and then email and text can be so cold. Plus the time difference drives me bonkers.

hopeful1 · 06/04/2011 10:06

Melies wow you are a braver person than me. I strugggled through my child placement at uni as looking after sick children was really hard but looking after sick babies is even harder. But what an amazing job you do. I look after the other end, I look after adults in the community so mostly the elderly.

Really happy birthday I will join you in a birthday Brew and cake. Hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide to do.

meliesmummy · 06/04/2011 09:39
