I am about to start cycle 5 and wondered if there were any fellow sex pests out there who wanted to join me in regular swi, not so regular poas and plenty of Wine, Biscuit, Brew and [chocolate emoticon].

Sorry about af obe Sad

molly sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

baby I've still been having the odd glass of wine once or twice a week at home, but out with friends is a bit more difficult - lets just say I'm not exactly known for staying sober on nights out Blush I've been telling people I'm trying to lose a bit of weight for summer so need to stay off the booze and no one seems to have noticed anything so far... Having said that theres loads of parties coming up over the next few months - two hen dos, christenings and a couple of weddings and my friends will definitely notice if I'm not drinking at those! DH & I may have to employ some Lynette Scavo tactics methinks! Will be hard though - DH is such a lightweight anyway! Grin

BabySade · 18/04/2011 13:32

Hehe just watched the clip! I dont watch Desperate Housewives as im normally at work when its on (have just got sky plus so may start to record it), my DH usually watches it. Ill have to check if he's seen that episode

eurochick · 18/04/2011 13:29

I had a frustrating weekend. I was hoping to start SWIing, but we were staying with the mother in law in a small flat with thin walls and just couldnt bring ourselves to do it!

I went to the doctor this morning to start investigations. He has ordered the usual blood tests. Although I am claiming up there we are on cycle 5, we haven't used contraception for quite a long while, so I figure it's time.

molly, were you by any chance on the Aer Arann flight out of Southend on Friday evening, back Sunday evening? I saw your reference to propeller planes and getting back around midnight. If so, I was on the same flight to Waterford (I think it did a Southend-Waterford-Galway route).

BabySade · 18/04/2011 13:27

Boogies I keep forcing my DH to finish my drinks for me too. Before TTC I wouldnt say I was a massive drinker but did go out a lot. I always suffered terrible hangovers (even if I had only had 3 glasses of wine!) Now looking back over the past few months I cant remember the last time I had a hangover, so there is one positive to this TTC business!

Im not particularly hopeful about this cycle. Im still not sure about ovulation, I seem to get EWCM for about 4-5 days. So im not sure if and what day ive ovulated. As ill be going into cycle 6 im thinking about starting with a fertility monitor or ovulation kits. Has anyone got any recommendations?

I would like to try charting but I work shifts (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights) so temping wouldnt be possible as I get up at different times.

BoogiesBunny · 18/04/2011 13:19

I found a link to that clip - good for a laugh at lunchtime!

BoogiesBunny · 18/04/2011 13:09

baby last month I had the odd sip of wine as well - just to avoid speculation. I think I'll do the same over easter - DH is a good person to have on hand to sneakily finish glasses for me - like that episode of Desperate Housewives with Lynette!

BabySade · 18/04/2011 12:46

Sorry about AF Obe, im glad you have an answer though at last.

Shobbs fx that you get another line.

AF is due in 6 days for me, have got all my fingers and toes crossed!

Ive still been having the odd drink while TTC, is anyone else? The first month I didnt drink at all which caused a lot of gossip. Im only having like one/two drinks max every now and then

orangehead · 18/04/2011 11:59

Sorry the witch got ou Obe Sad
Glad you had a good time molly and weimyis right it only takes one little swimmer

OBeSomeOtherName · 18/04/2011 11:54

AF arrived this morning Sad

Not feeling too bad about it though - deep down I wasn't expecting to be PG - still would have been lovely though!

Oh well, guess we'll have to keep on SWI-ing! Hmm Wink

Sorry, I haven't read everyone's posts yet, will catch up properly later) x

weimy · 18/04/2011 11:38

Who knows?! My thinking is that if the cramps I had yesterday were the egg emerging then it could, apparently, live up to 2 days. One more can't hurt anyway! Go for it!! I love your DH's enthusiasm - can he talk to mine?

MollyDefoe · 18/04/2011 11:07

Hi Boogies! Oh dear, I hadn't really thought about the fact that the 2ww is over Easter, and bank holidays, and an "ironic Royal Wedding party", and my step-dad's birthday, and my DP's parents' visit. Oh dear, abstinence from booze is going to be hard.
The SWI commitment all came from DP last night! I only arrived home gone midnight, and he was keen to get down to it straight away. And just as I was about to go to sleep, he started up again! I was impressed at his dedication, bless him :)
Do you think it's worth SWI after ovulation, then? I'm never sure how long the egg is supposed to live for. DP is up for another shag this afternoon, but I don't know how useful it would be. But I'm not one to turn down cheeky afternoon sex!

BoogiesBunny · 18/04/2011 10:35

Welcome back Molly - I'm so glad you had a great time in beautiful Galway! We are ov buddies as I'm pretty sure I ov'd yesterday too but we only managed it once last night - I admire your committment to the cause! I am a little unnerved by the fact that quite a lot of 'stuff' was not inside IYKWIM. This evening will probably be our last SWI for this cycle - we can get back to JS then. 2ww is over Easter and holiday so will need to try and watch what I eat or drink during a very yummy time of year on the off chance a miracle has occured!! - We're all in the same boat though - and there is plenty of cake and digital Wine on this thread to keep us going!

MollyDefoe · 18/04/2011 09:46

Hi all - happy Monday! Well, I'm back from a lovely weekend in beautiful Galway - gave a talk at a literature festival, and then hung out with some friends who'd come over with me for the weekend. It was gorgeous weather, so we had some beautiful walks by the sea, and nice long lazy lunches. Unfortunately DP couldn't come with me, and I'm almost certain I ov'd yesterday evening. I got a first peak reading on the fertility monitor, and this morning my temperature is up. We SWI-ed on Friday evening, before I flew out, and again (twice) last night when I got back, and this morning (for good measure), so I really hope that covers my fertile period. But I'm worrying that we missed the really fertile hours just before ovulation. Oh well, there was nothing we could do, I suppose...

I'm updating my place on the stats - I think that, because I ov'd yesterday, AF should be due 1st May, not 29th April as I originally thought.

BoogiesBunny · 17/04/2011 20:45

Hi all! So many newbies - it's wonderful! Welcome everyone!

I'm feeling a little low about things as DH and I didn't manage to get any action before he went away - so only did it on CD10. I think I'm ovulating as I type as I have quite bad cramps - DH back tonight so, when he's back tonight, we have to get down to it! But I'm not holding up hopes for a BFP this month :-(

...and I've told 5 friends we're trying - it just keeps coming up! Agh!

shobbs let us know how you get on tomorrow - fx for good news!!
weimy I hope this is your month! Bring on Sunday!

weimy · 17/04/2011 20:09

Welcome Lilianna, wouldbe, 75sara& fr00t Grin!

Back from a weekend away , to find that OH has let the dogs get covered in paint and the devil pup chew a whole in our bedding Angry

so totally get you with the symptom spotting!!! I'm 9dpo and really aware of every single twinge :( Will test next sun

OP posts:
shobbs · 17/04/2011 18:31

Ok ladies quick update, I was due 14th April, and being 3 days late bought some tests on line (unitest) took them in morning BFN, but thought I better try clearblue so rushed to the shops and bought 2 tests, silly me did one 40minutes after going to the bathroom so barely a sample, but can swear I can see the faintest cross, had this with first child so will test again tomorrow morning to be sure

Xx

OBeSomeOtherName · 17/04/2011 14:13

Trope completely get where you're coming from, I was just born a pessimist! Grin Getting more and more excited the more time goes on though and you're right it is bloody fun! Smile

Thank you Liliana everything crossed for you too, hope you don't have to wait much longer!

My DP is the same too, not really talking about it or getting too caught up in it until we get the BFP. God it's annoying and I wish I was as level headed as he is!!! So it is great being able to whinge chat about it all here Grin

Was another BFN this morning by the way. Naturally. Hmm

whitegold · 17/04/2011 13:22

trope I know the feeling - its so exciting thinking I could be pg right now! Still got sore boobs and feel tired but thats all! Af is due in two days - I'm trying my hardest to resist the urge to POAS now and just wait to see if af comes or not! I hate the symptoms that could be either!

liliana my dh is the same - he doesn't really want to discuss it in detail just yet and would prefer to wait till I'm actually pg. Its so frustrating isn't it! Great to have people here to talk to about it all who are going through the same thing Smile

have we heard from shobbs or justshagging lately?

Liliana1 · 17/04/2011 12:43

Thanks trope Have been very calm about things the last few months / years but now getting a bit desperate and obsessive - do understand what you mean about it being exciting though, always was a roller coaster junkie and this is the ultimate ride!!

Trying to keep the fact we're trying quiet so no one to talk to about things esp as DH is trying to keep me calm and won't talk about it obsessively until I get a BFP - he's just enjoying having lots of sex!! (although secretly think he really wants it to happen now too) :) so this forum is great for me to be able to actually 'talk' about things.

Obe got all my fingers and toes crossed for you

Have just been looking through the list of people on the bus and must be going mad as can't even got my own age right!!! Hormones? pg? oh another thing to dream into a sign I'm pg Grin
Ok list update to include my ACTUAL age!!

hey carlita, not pissing on my parade at all (took me a moment to work out POYP - so not good with all the acronmys - it's like GCSE french all over again...) I swing wildly back and forth between being convinced I am, and convinced i'm mad for even thinking I might be!

Obe - now i'm into the 2ww myself, I feel really differently about the whole getting your hopes up thing. I initially thought it was a bit silly to get too excited until you've tested and had your BFP, but actually now i'm thinking every twinge/random bodily function change could be a sign, it's actually kinda fun & exciting. Sure i'm going to be disappointed if I get AF next weekend, but I'm starting to think that the excitement of thinking I might be pregnant is part of the ride, if that makes sense? Of course, I reserve the right to be a miserable cow and change my mind on this should AF turn up / this process takes several months/years. I am sure it's probably only kind of exciting and fun because it's new & I've spent 6 years waiting to get to this point!

Welcome to all the newbies! lilliana - lemon cupcakes, mmmm, yes please! Sounds like you've had a tough road to get to this point! Fingers crossed you get a BFP quickly!
