I am about to start cycle 5 and wondered if there were any fellow sex pests out there who wanted to join me in regular swi, not so regular poas and plenty of Wine, Biscuit, Brew and [chocolate emoticon].

Hi DreamingOfABump and 75Sarah!
Fingers crossed for us :) Off to NY for our 5th wedding Anniversary, so v excited. Am worried that we missed the April boat/bus as missed one day of BD in the alternate cycle, and I think that might hv been the window!
How do I add myself to stats? X

75sarah · 25/04/2011 05:46

Hi utterlymonkey. Good luck - have you added yourself to the stats?
x

DreamingOfABump · 24/04/2011 22:52

am currently doing the alternate day bd-ing, hoping to be lucky as soon as possible. fingers and toes crossed! Where are u off on holiday to?

UtterlyMonkey · 24/04/2011 22:28

Hello everyone - new MNetter here! Grin Would love to join your bus if I may?
Been TTC for the last 2 months, and hv been BD-ing every other day during ovln this month. Wish me luck - would be nice to discover good news when we're away on hols in 2 weeks time!
Anyone else trying in April? x

emmaloupolman · 24/04/2011 21:06

Hope all well

I am now in my 2ww x

Byrnsie30 · 24/04/2011 15:19

Hey Shobbs,
Sorry to hear your news. It is very disappointing and upsetting. I thought I was OK after the initial upset and once I had an internal scan to check I was healthy. The nurse at the scan said it might hit me again in a few weeks, that I had to allow myself time to grieve - and she was right!
I thought alot about what I had or hadn't done that could have made a difference - but in the end it's out of our control and no one is to blame x

Liliana1 · 24/04/2011 13:20

Glad you are being so positive trope and sorry AF got you! I'm the same - very excited to be trying for a baby - its like a special secret me and my DH share :) do have my down days but like you said, could be so much worse. Enjoy your afternoon

Shobbs don't beat yourself up please. It was nothing you did and as trope says is v common - most people don't even know they were pg and its only due to the early testing available now that more people are realising they have miscarried. Take care of yourself and give yourself time to come to terms with it, but don't play the blame game. Hope your OH is taking good care of you and hope to see you back soon. (((((hugs)))))

trope · 24/04/2011 12:36

Well, it seems like AF has gotten me - spotting started a little while ago and I've got the usual cramping / black hole of doom sensation so I think that's me out for this month!

Felt weirdly relieved when it came, not because I didn't want to be pregnant, but more that I didn't want weeks of not knowing and a cycle that's even more all over the place than it had been. Assuming AF goes into full flow later, that would mean a 26 day cycle, which is back to what I had when I first stopped the pill and that seems like a pretty steady/good cycle to have.

Looking forward to a cold beer with my BBQ dinner tonight and lots of SWI in the weeks to come. I always knew it wasn't likely to happen straight away (I'm just not that lucky a person!!) so feel pretty OK with it all, though obviously a bit disappointed!

Mostly though I still just feel really happy to be finally trying for a baby! Can't help feeling that things could (and have been) so much worse - so it'd be daft for me to sit around feeling sorry for myself over one failed cycle! :o

Now, off to the garden to sit in the sunshine and read, while DP scavenges something up for lunch! All things considered i'm feeling pretty damn lucky really!

trope · 24/04/2011 12:26

hey shobbs Just wanted to say, though I'm sure you already know this, that early MCs are incredibly common and i'm sure it's got nothing to do with you doing anything "wrong" - it's just bad luck. Doesn't stop you questioning things I'm sure, but please don't be hard on yourself over this! I hope your DP is taking good care of you and I hope to see you back on the bus soon! :)

shobbs · 24/04/2011 12:12

hey ladies,

thank you for your posts, well AF came 2 days ago and was the worst ever (thinks its because i new what was passing),

im ok physically but mentally i have everything running through my head (why me?, did i do something wrong? etc etc)

i know it wasnt ment to be but that doesnt stop the thinking.

i have no idea when my next af is due but not gonna try this month think im gonna take a step back just to recover from this.

good luck to you all though xxx

trope · 24/04/2011 09:51

well AF didn't show yesterday, nor had it arrived when I got up this morning so I POAS and.... nope, nothing, no little line of joy for me.

Now I suppose I just wait and see if AF shows and if it doesn't, test again sometime later this week.

Gah! This is frustrating!!

Byrnsie30 · 23/04/2011 19:34

Hi Lilian,
Googling certainly helps while the days away between ov and tests!!

Liliana1 · 23/04/2011 15:47

The acronyms were v helpful when I started on here but still had to ask for some so don't worry about asking is you're not sure

I'm a primary teacher so have found these 2 weeks hard too, even worse my DH (darling husband) works away so am spending the hols with him which is nice (and helpful when I ov'ed!) but he is still working and I don't have any friends here so been a lonely couple of weeks with plenty of time to obsess, find out all things mn and hours on google finding out everything there is to know about conception!

Byrnsie30 · 23/04/2011 15:22

I have found the acronyms help on this site so I now know what POAS means - yay!

Byrnsie30 · 23/04/2011 14:19

Hi Liliana,

Good to hear from you and have some people to obssess with who are in the same place! I can guess that POAS is to do with testing, but what does it actually stand for?
Wish I had some distractions - I'm at home for the Easter hols as I work in education. Plus, I think people have started noticing that I'm not really drinking!

Liliana1 · 23/04/2011 14:06

Hi Byrnsie welcome to the bus! I started seriously trying in Dec too (off the pill for a year with the have fun and hope technique but no luck so working at it now!) Hate the 2ww soooo much - I'm about 7 or 8 days dpo (days after ovulation) luckily my tests are at home and I'm away till Tuesday so enforced restraint is in place, however once Tuesday hits I'm going to be wanting to POAS daily!!!! Thank god for internet cheapies or I'd be broke :)

CD is cycle day ie the 1st day of your period / cycle us CD1. So I'm on CD21 today.

Fx for you trope, very impresseed with your restraint there's no way I could hang on that long. Have a lovely day it sounds perfect xx

Byrnsie30 · 23/04/2011 13:51

Hiya,
I'm TTC#1. Started trying in December. Had very early MC end of Jan. Gave it 6 weeks so body felt back to normal. I seem to have 31 day cycle (since coming off pill in November)
What does CD mean? I'm new to this!
The 2WW is torturous and I am a sucker for the mega early HPT! Having to restrain myself from testing daily at mo. Wednesday is day of reckoning!

trope · 23/04/2011 13:30

Back from my trip to my sister and what a lot to catch up on!

"HI" to all the newbies! :o

weimy & Obe so sorry that AF got you both! shobbs so sorry - hope you are as OK as you can be.

weimy - sad to see you off the list, but totally understand needing a break - really hope to see you back here again soon!

As for me, I am CD26, according to FF I OV'd on CD14 and my past 3 cycles have been 26, 25 and 23 days. So when AF is due is anyones guess! I was feeling pretty excited and positive, but today my temp dropped and I have the sort of cramps I usually get mid AF, so I suspect that AF is on her sweet way. If not though I shall POAS tomorrow (for the first time ever, which is in itself pretty exciting) and hopefully get good news! (Not sure I will cope well with negative & no AF though - might actually go properly potty with that much waiting and uncertainty! Think I used up all my pateince getting to this point!!)

As for today, I am off to the beach with DP, where I shall read the paper, bask in the sunshine, eat a picnic lunch and treat myself to ice creams from the awesome maroccos. I shall bring some back for you all to share! :)

I hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend, getting lots of SWI (or JS!) and fun times with your DPs / families!

Glacier · 21/04/2011 16:14

Thank you! In that case,

Glacier (36), TTC 1 Cycle 1 UCL? AF due 11th May (ish)

Poppyjen · 21/04/2011 16:05

Sorry Glacier crossed post...

I'll explain using mine:

Poppyjen (29) TTC#2 Cycle 2 UCL ? AF due 2nd May (ish)

Poppyjen age 29, trying to conceive second child, second cycle trying, don't know usual cycle length (UCL), period due around 2nd May

Hope that helps!

MorningCoffee · 21/04/2011 16:03

Yes i think so to so am just going to wait and then start from after my next bleed (if it arrives Wink

Welcome Glacier Smile

Poppyjen · 21/04/2011 16:02

Sorry yes should have worked that out Confused I know what you mean about feeling like body is messed up after pill - my last cycle (1st post pill) lasted 56 days, although I did have a withdrawal bleed. Hopefully your body is just taking a while to realise it has got to produce its own hormones now Smile
