I am about to start cycle 5 and wondered if there were any fellow sex pests out there who wanted to join me in regular swi, not so regular poas and plenty of Wine, Biscuit, Brew and [chocolate emoticon].

Poppy - thank you so much for your advice earlier this week. I have been mulling it over and think your idea of leaving it for a few cycles to see how we get on is a good idea. It is great to hear that you were in the same situation when you had DS. BB

eurochick · 13/05/2011 10:47

Boogies I saw that and thought it was interesting. The second episode was last night.

Sorry to hear that, weimy.

BoogiesBunny · 13/05/2011 10:23

Oh weimy I'm so sorry - thinking about you today.

SWI begins tomorrow - bring it on!

Did anyone see 'Inside the Human Body' on Tuesday (I think it was that episode) - definately worth checking out if not. It was all about the beginning of life (i.e. what we are trying to make happen) and was full of interesting graphics, fantastic facts and great explanations. Catch it on iplayer- if only for the results of an experiment with lap dancers which was amazing!!!

weimy · 12/05/2011 23:21

lugsie I get it too some cycles a lot of people do, got it now, like all symptoms it could be a sign of AF or PG eg implantation (Mine is brown).

Looks like I'm out again and moving on to cycle 7 :( FFS def thinking of throwing the towel in.

ARGH. Another flipping (younger) friend is preggers.

Lugsie · 12/05/2011 13:41

Hi all, whitegold here - was out with friends last night and got talking about childhood nicknames from our parents and siblings, this was mine so I've decided to namechange Smile Will update stats with my new name later.

How are you doing today emma - any news?

I was wondering if you ladies could offer any advice - I'm currently CD24 and when I got up this morning I had a small amount of spotting when I went to the loo. At first I thought it must be the start of af (although I still have a week to go till I'm due), but theres been nothing else all day so far? I also had this about 2 months ago, but then af arrived on time. Any ideas what it could be? I'm baffled!

emmaloupolman · 11/05/2011 19:17

Thank you weimy

weimy · 11/05/2011 19:03

oh emma i'm sorry hope you feel better soon :)

Not only is my af 4 days late i have an infection in my gums which is killing me Sad

Poppyjen · 11/05/2011 13:36

Hi Boogies - it is horrid, I feel like I can't trust my body at all it is sending too many mixed messages Confused

Sorry to hear about your work stress. Before I considered having children I would have said "don't put your life on hold for something you have no control over" but having had my DS my perspective has changed somewhat!

I had a similar situation just before we conceived DS. I hated my job and really wanted to leave to do something more interesting (which inevitably meant lower pay and less attractive maternity benefits) but in the end I stuck it out and I am pleased I did because if I had moved on I wouldn't have qualified for various maternity leave bits and pieces as I wouldn't have been there long enough. Part of me really wished I had taken the job when I was 8 months pregnant and working until midnight but at least I now have the opportunity to have a break from the world of work and re-assess what I want to do.

Just my own experience, I appreciate that if you do similar and then it takes a while to conceive then you could be cursing my name.... Wink

Maybe you could give yourself a couple of cycles and then if nothing has happened re-assess? What would you consider doing after maternity leave? Would you want to go back? What would your options be for part time etc? There's no easy answer with this as you just never know when its going to happen Smile

Oh and re Fertility Friend random ov date change I did a little experiment and removed all the CM data and guess what, back to 2nd May (CD29) again....when I added it back in it turns out that the pivotal data is my CM on CD 34 and 35 and nothing to do with the temperature at all Confused I guess I will just test mid-week next week and if no joy and no AF keep testing every couple of days just in case.

BoogiesBunny · 11/05/2011 12:25

Hi poppy flip me - I would be going mad, I am so sorry that your body is being so confusing!! I have every confidence that it will happen for you and all this stress will be just a bad, distant memory!

Hate jumping in but need to share with someone before I unwisely spill onto someone at work. I have been ready to move on from my job for a year or so now but the right opportunity just hasn't come up - I now have very itchy feet but have stopped looking since we started trying for a baby as the maternity pay is pretty essential. This morning I heard that one of my colleagues is moving on to a great job and I am so pleased for her - but I am also unspeakably jealous especially as my boss is saying how proud he is of her - I so wish it was me!! I know it isn't sensible to consider moving right now but I just don't want to be left behind. I know everyone is going through this uncertain period but if it takes time for us to get pregnant then I could think about moving - but is it worth the risk? Currently praying for an internal position to magically appear on the intranet as that would be a great interim option. :-(

eurochick · 11/05/2011 10:51

It looks to me like FF has the right date estimated now, but I am not an expert!

Poppyjen · 11/05/2011 07:52

Garghhhhhhhh!!!!

Fertility Friend has now changed my ovulation date so still stuck on 8 dpo now (I think I will be stuck in the 2ww FOREVER). Any other charters out there care to take a look to see what you think? my chart is here they have changed my cover line so it is higher - it was 35.9 ish. Now I don't claim to be an expert about these things but I can clearly see what looks like an ovulation dip on 2nd May followed by clear thermal shift over the next 3 days. Confused

I tried to see what it would be like on the other settings ("research" and "FAM") and they now say no ovulation detected.

How irritating - there were a few days DH and I didn't manage to DTD after my alleged ovulation date so if they pin it as any later we may well have missed our window Sad

Any thoughts much appreciated! (sorry for me me me post)

emmaloupolman · 11/05/2011 07:48

eurochick · 10/05/2011 16:15

I also get creamy CM a few days after ov.

G'luck!

DreamingOfABump · 10/05/2011 15:41

pipbin dont worry about the obsesing i think it suck us in very easily this ttc lark!
emma im also af 5 days late and bfn. its very frustrating.

Poppyjen · 10/05/2011 10:50

Thanks euro FX for you. My temps seem to be fairly positive too - there was a big rise over 4 days and a couple of dips since then (still above cover line though) but back up now for a couple of days so I am hopeful. CM seems to be more creamy now (sorry TMI Blush )

Poppyjen · 10/05/2011 10:47

Tired that's awful, you poor thing! If you feel anything like me you feel like you want to protect all of your precious insides even more now you are TTC and anyone violating that must be such a shock. Hope you are ok.

Hi MyMama welcome Smile hope that this is your month! Nice to know its not just me with those crazy long cycles....8 DPO here, at CD 37!

Hope these next few days go quickly, I am going crazy waiting. What with not knowing if I had ovulated or not or how long my cycle was going to be this time I seem to have been POAS forever. I am starting to think that I see lines everywhere...tempted to try an internet cheapie with water to test my theory that I am truly going mad Blush

We're off on holiday a week on Friday and would really like to know before then so I know whether I can indulge or not....I guess my true "test date" should be next Tues (17th) or later if I can bear it so I have a nice Clearblue digital saved for then.

......but you know I will be "rehearsing" with those ics from now until then Smile Its like some kind of science experiment at school, what with my charting etc. I'm quite enjoying it in a funny sort of way though someone may have to scoop me up off the floor when it finally does happen Grin

Hope everyone else is well!

eurochick · 10/05/2011 10:47

Poppyjen,

I am fairly sure based on my temps. Just waiting for CD21 to tick around so I can have it confirmed by a blood test.

MyMamaToldMe · 10/05/2011 10:35

Hi everyone - hope it's okay to join so late? TTC as of yesterday (had my coil removed and started trying sraight away!) Already have a DD who has just turned 3, and we have finally made up our minds to start trying for a 2nd one. Along with some of you here, I have very long cycles (around 45 days), so quite frustrating waiting for my AF every month. Anyway, I am just entering my 'fertile' period, and it would be amazing if it could happen straight away. Took a few months to concieve my 1st - so I won't hold my breath!
