Getting us started on a new thread; this one is gonna be a lucky one!

Hello peeps.

aandr good luck for the thyroid cyst thang today. And yey for the schools thing. Lets hope it's three times lucky for us all.

freelance good to see you again. I agree that Amazon is v dangerous. I tend to be, oh that's cheap, I'll have that, and then my bag has £50 worth of junk in itBlush Hope you get your referral soon.

izz how's it going|? still avoiding the bulk of symptoms? Just trying to find a suitable wedding reception, DP thinks it's like houses, in that you just know when you find the right one, which I kind of agree with, but seeing as we're aiming for a pub in the Calder valley (big open area- think wuthering heights) then we may have to be proactive in visiting some pubs what a shame. And then there's the church/civil debate...

bb that sounds good. But just for good measure, here's a couple of fish.

battery how lucky of your friend. It's a shame she won't see that. Hope you're ok, your acu lady sounds funny. Glad you feel it's going well, and you've got a well timed ov again this month? Huzzah.

loola hope you're ok out there, cycle buddy.

jolls Hope all's well over there. I am looking in the general direction of my suspenders. Might have to try them on and see if they still fit.

mouse you have reminded me about the vitd3. did you have to get that online? Must start with the EPO, is that 1000mg? I've given up on my AC, am doing a little experiment at home, cos I ov'd on day 22ish with it, and last month I ov'd on day 16 without it. So seeing what this month has in store for me!

chloe did u get a referral through yet for the other hospital?

wiggle and zam hope the thyroid stuff goes ok.

Waves to everyone else, I've gotta go make some tea for myself do some work now.

freelancegirl · 05/04/2011 22:54

Ahh, thanks Izzy, Broken, Freezing and Battery and anyone I have missed for the hellos! Hello to all that are not name checked in this one too. It's nice to be welcomed on new boards as otherwise I feel quite shy Blush

MummyAbroad I have also followed your Amazon link and bought those OPKs. Thanks! Gosh that One Click Buy thing is dangerous. This week Amazon have already prised three books (Reagan?s MC one, a thyroid one and the Is Your Body Baby Friendly one) and now these.

Zam ? how did the thyroid results turn out? I have been treated for under active since I was around 21 (36 now) and although my TSH and T4 are controlled and normal raised antibodies apparently mean I have double the chance of mc than people without them. Make sure they check your antibodies and also make sure you get the actual figures of your thyroid test and post them here so we can look at them! I forget whether I have said it before on this thread but some docs idea of normal levels are very different to others.

Getawiggleon ? I too am awaiting delivery Alan Beer?s book to hopefully address thyroid antibodies. Mine were 429 so lower than yours but they have been raised for a long long time. Have started taking 200mcg of Selenium, which I have heard might help lower them. Your thyroid is definitely under active, I hope they have given you thyroxine. Ideally with raised antibodies I have heard the TSH should be lower than one.

I found this article really helpful:

www.thyroid-info.com/articles/fertilitythy.htm

I also managed to get my docs to refer me to Dr Shehata today. I have already asked for a referral for St Marys but as my first 2 mcs were 15 years ago I don?t think I will make the '3 consecutive' criteria. So I though I would cover my back and ask for Shehata too. I imagine the waiting list is very long though..? He seems to be very good in terms of antibodies.

Loving all the acupuncture feedback, I think I might well look into it! I had a BFN on Friday so am just waiting first AF after mc now and might consider going for it again. Terrified of these damn antibodies though.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/04/2011 22:29

bb that does sound promising...

battery Shock Envy Sad. Life's not fair x

batteryhen · 05/04/2011 21:07

Hi mouse I know, I don't think she is trying to upset me me, but is obviously just excited and a bit thoughtless, but I hope things go well with her.

It does help that I just told my acupucnturist about it and she said - and I quote 'did you tell your friend to piss off with her wee stick?' Grin
I am glad also that your gp has seen fit to sign you off - it is all about self preservation you know!

jolls and bb - I am keeping my beady eye on you pair - I have a good feeling about you both :)

freezing I am impressed about the red washing line - quite frankly I don't think life gets more exciting in the washing line world!!

izzy always nice to hear from you - I hope you have reserved some bean bags for all of us over there!

Big wave to zam MummyA AandR Freelance and holidaying ladybee xxx

I have just got back from the acupuncturist - I find it really relaxing. I am off to germany on thursday - due to ov on friday so I want to hold off ovulation till then so she gave me a session to enrich my blood and give my eggy a nice drink. I feel very positive this cycle xxx

mousebacon · 05/04/2011 19:34

I'm back! Just realised I missed your post bb pleased I'm not the only one amozon is 'recommending' things to! I purchased a large haddock in tesco and will happily fling it in your direction (while secretly hoping on your behalf!)

Battery words cannot describe the way I feel about people like your friend. I think Sad Envy Shock sums it up. It's just not fair is it?

batteryhen · 05/04/2011 18:25

Will post properly later but need to have a quick rant. You ladies might remember a few weeks ago when I said my friend had announced she is trying for a baby - been out and brought loads of baby stuff, changing tables etc. Guess what? Yes - she stopped me today to say she has just found out she is pregnant - in fact she thrust her clear blue digi stick under my nose. Great. Great. Arse.

I don't mean to be mean. But I am feeling mean. Off to acupucnture will post later xx

ps - bb sounds good to me xxx :)

mousebacon · 05/04/2011 17:58

Sorry for the delay zam I loathe waiting for anything but test results are even worse - hope it gets sorted soon.

Congrats on the school place AandR Grin The vits I'm taking are agnus castus, starflower oil and oil of evening primrose. Once I'm back on the ttc wagon I'm going to take digi's advice of pregnacare plus, vit D3 and (on the event of a bfp) low dose asprin.

Right, off to sodding tesco [grumpy face]

brokenbarrenbrook · 05/04/2011 17:53

Hello all, just a quickie as I am pooped!

A&R the vits that digi has recommended to her by Dr Shehata were pregnacare plus (the ones with the omega 3 capsules) and vitamin d3. Good luck with the appointment tomorrow.

Am another amazon saddo here and my recommended list is embarrassing aswell mouse, your comment about yours made me giggle (and pleased that I'm not the only one with an embarrassing things we think you'll like list!) I too also don't have any suggestions re getting your body back to normal, I've been extremely lucky (?) in that mine has always got back to normal straight away. The only thing I would say that I swear by is exercise as it always sorts me out Hmm

freezing a red washing line! How very posh! Grin

jollipops I'm still hoping for you...... x

Well, fishes at the ready ladies; in the house of bb, there are strange goings on and much mentalling. Yesterday at just 6DPO I felt rather pooped for the majority of the afternoon, spent most of the day peeing and developed sore boobs. Last night on the way home from work I felt sick. Today I almost threw up in the gym and now I have a very grumbly tummy. Hmm

ZamMummyInGabs · 05/04/2011 17:37

Just a quick update to say - no update :)
Will chase up GP tomorrow and explain the full extent of our family thyroid history (mother, sister, great-aunt, aunt & cousin Shock)

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 05/04/2011 15:59

aandr yay for the school places and best of luck with the surgeon tomorrow. I'm starting to wonder where zam is - she's keeping us all in suspense.

freezing I also had amazon cheapy opks and some cb digis cheap off eBay. No expense spared Grin

jolls hopefully it's all good signs - I know how frustrating it is every month though thinking it just might be implantation and then getting knocked down again...however sometimes it really is implantation so I'm afraid you'll have to let me quietly keep hoping Smile

yrmotb how're the wedding plans going?

ladybee are you on holiday now? Hope you're able to chill out a bit...

bee and aandr It is horrid thinking of where you should be now, aandr - I hope the dd wasn't too bad - I know I'm lucky having got my bfp for now, but I have to admit when I opened my mother's day card I read "from ds and dd" and thought "but there ought to be one more!"

AandRMum · 05/04/2011 12:40

Hi All, A red washing line is exciting freezing as it means summer is almost here and drying things in a cupboard (the wierdest concept for an Aussie to grasp) is over for another season.

DD1 managed to get into our local school - phew!

Zam I too am waiting on your thyroid news ...
LadyB know the feeling - our due date just passed - dh of course had no idea. I was fine but a little sentimental and then I went to a friend's house who has just had number 3 and I have to say I felt rather guilty at how relieved I felt leaving with my two toilet trained, reasonably independent dds!!

I wouldn't mind the list of vits I should be taking to get my body in tip top condition as well mouse I am a bit rubbish and only really manage the folic acid with a dash of Floredex when I remember.

Off to talk to the surgeons tomorrow about having my thyroid cyst cut out.

Waves to all

Freezingmyarseoff · 05/04/2011 11:10

I don't know what happened there, managed to post before I had finished. Probably a sign I better go and do some work but hope everyone else is okay today BBB, YRMOTB, Velvet, A&R, Wiggle, Izzy, Blackkat and digi

Freezingmyarseoff · 05/04/2011 11:07

I have taken your lovely recommendations on board and made a purchase from Amazon. Plus bought a very exciting red washing line too. See battery I told you my life was exciting. We still haven't decided on a paint colour yet for outside of our house, so more painting/drying to be done

Thinking of you MummyA it's very nerve-wracking approaching the same dates as previous pregnancies. I hope the MS settles down ASAP too.

Jolls I'll swap you your cupboard for my filing cabinet. I just keep shoving all my paperwork into the misc folder and now it won't shut properly Hmm

Zam any news on the thyroid results yet?

Mouse I don't have any more suggestions for getting body back to normal except some retail therapy. That always helps me (until the credit card bill arrives)

LadyBee Enjoy your holiday as best you can esp the wine. It's so hard not to think what might have happened. Take care

And hi to Freelance, I don't think I've said that yet.

mousebacon · 05/04/2011 09:52

Blush

what is wrong with me?!!

mousebacon · 05/04/2011 09:50

Can't remember the last time I bought anything sensible from amazon - my 'things you may also like' list is just plain embarrasing!

Enjoy your cupboard sorting jolls I've just washed the mountain of dished DH had lovingly left for me post mither's day. I resisted the urge to wash them yesterday but I really can't stand the mess!

Off to see a friend for coffee this morning, unfortunately also have DS in tow as there's an outbreak of the pox at the CM and I don't want our weekend away ruined!

randomimposter · 05/04/2011 09:12

Can I join!! I heart Amazon too... Not for HPT/OPK though Grin. Waste enough money on other stuff Hmm.

CD24 for me today. No unusual gusset activity. But some ominously familiar tummy twinges. Suspect it's cycle 7 here we come Angry. Yeah I know before anyone says it, it could be implantation. But compooter says no.

Wave to all. Off to grumble at clearing out cupboards.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 05/04/2011 08:45

I love Amazon. [saddo]

mousebacon · 04/04/2011 23:42

I use amazon too - I ordered a batch of 50 for about a fiver after the mmc in jan. I got the pg tests from there too Smile

MummyAbroad · 04/04/2011 22:35

cheeky answer with no name checking BlushGrin

freezing I got mine off Amazon

www.amazon.co.uk/Highly-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility-Strips/dp/B001G7P62S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1301952876&sr=8-1

Freezingmyarseoff · 04/04/2011 22:22

Sorry going to be really cheeky and ask a question with no name checking? Blush

I've decided to try some OPKs, can anyone recommend a good internet site for buying them?
Have done a google and lots have come up. Too many in fact. Anyone got a favourite?
Big waves to everyone

mousebacon · 04/04/2011 21:14

Sounds good to me - I always eat like a horse when I'm pg - literally can't go for more than a couple of hours without feeling like I might pass out from hunger!

Pleased you're ok Smile

Blackkat · 04/04/2011 20:58

Hello, not pukey, but can't feed the cat anymore bcs of the smell, and the brie in the fridge had to go in the bin, eeugh, so don't suppose it's far off! Eating like a pig now to make up for future chundering (at least that's my excuse!) Grin

mousebacon · 04/04/2011 20:56

Thanks love, how are you? Any pukey-ness yet? Grin

Blackkat · 04/04/2011 20:42

mouse you've a nice evening planned Smile

Sounds like you're doing all you can to get your system back to normal, the brown goo lasted for abt 2 weeks for me. Take care x
