Have been TTCing for about a year, with no joy.

AF was due Sunday/Monday, nothing doing.
Very sore boobs and rubbish skin, which are usual PMT symptoms here.

Took a First response test this morning, and it looked negative after three minutes. I tidied myself up, and took it to the window of our very gloomy bathroom... and very faint positive line. So it was outside the 3 minute window but am pretty sure it showed within the 10 minute limit!!!

ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH.

So happy for you Dastardly. Now you've got all the lovely things to look forward too like bladder football Grin

DreamingOfABump · 20/03/2011 19:06

yay, love a thread with a happy ending

Brasso4 · 19/03/2011 19:24

Congratulations and good luck and good health for your pregnancy!

OrangeGloss · 19/03/2011 14:45

Awesome!! Grin congratulations!!

I don't think you'll ever not worry or panic again, just varying levels! I think the colour could be either implantation, or I've heard that if at time that AF is due that's quite common, like your body still getting the hang of things

hmmSleep · 19/03/2011 12:43

Grin congratulations and the best of luck!

DastardlyandSmuttily · 19/03/2011 12:32

Riiiiight.

Was doing my best ostrich impression successfully until this morning, when I noticed a slight colour to discharge, which is sometimes how AF kicks in for me.

So, went to Boots, bought a CBD, and.....

2-3 weeks pregnant! Yay!

Have just got to hope that isnt' a sign it isn't hanging around, but for better or for worse, I have definitely got pregnant Grin

Thanks for all your support ladies. Fingers crossed for me for the next bit. Anyone got any advice on when to panic, and when not?!

Have you tested yet, Dastardly? Good luck xx

DastardlyandSmuttily · 18/03/2011 08:28

No testing today. I shall wait, buy a CB digital, and do it on Saturday. Total serenity here...

OrangeGloss · 18/03/2011 07:10

Are you testing today?

DastardlyandSmuttily · 17/03/2011 18:01

Ha ha.

But there's no baby there. Just a very very pale line, remember?

OP posts:
JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/03/2011 17:31

And can I give you a Shamrock for the weekend? Smile?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/03/2011 17:02

Well you won't be peeing that much in the morning for much longer. Once the baby realises he can play football with your bladder you'll be up at least 5 times in the night to wee Grin

DastardlyandSmuttily · 17/03/2011 14:46

Thank you ladies. Am surprisingly calm. Think the "Fuuuuuuucccccckkkkk!" will kick in once I'm totally sure!

Am going to serenely ignore it until the weekend, then get a ClearBlue. honest. Unless DH comes home with half of Boots, which I suspect he might.

Jilted that is scarily close to the truth! Plus, I never realised quite how much volume I pee first thing in the morning Blush

Whhop whoop! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 17/03/2011 10:58

A line is a line. Please don't spend a month's salary in boots, if you are up the duff you need to save your money for your Mat leave Smile.

Wait a 2 or 3 days and do another, hard I know but better than driving yourself insane doing continuous tests.

You do realise that everytime I see your name now I will have a mental image of you weeing in a margarine tub with your head torch on Grin Shock Blush Grin Grin

harassedinherpants · 17/03/2011 10:54

I've already said this on another thread this morning, but my faint line is 4 now lol! Grin

Jury still out on me, no af and not tested since bfn. Think I'm going to be out though.....eventually!

owlbooty · 17/03/2011 10:52

Hmmm, sounds promising! I'd wait a couple of days then do another one. That will give it time to decide what it's playing at. The lines I got for the first 3/4 days were teeny weeny ones like that :)

But let's face it, I am in no position to advise as I will happily pee on sticks till the cows come home Grin

FourFortyFour · 17/03/2011 10:50

I have to tell my story.

I wouldn't couldn't wait until dh to come home and did a clear blue digital test to get it over with. I read the instructions, did the necessary and went downstairs. Came back, read the test - pregnant - thought oh well and went back to carry on tidying up. Slowly it dawned on me I needed to go and reread it. Yep, up duff.

I knew it was going to say pregnant either way, not pregnant or pregnant so when I saw it said pregnant I assumed I wasn't. Blush.

So the moral of the story is a digital isn't always conclusive straight away.

OrangeGloss · 17/03/2011 10:44

That's surely a good sign?! I thought a line is a line....:)

A CBDigi would confirm IMO (I'm not on commission honest!) as it'll be a yes or no. Tis more money and waiting, unless you kept a wee pot

DastardlyandSmuttily · 17/03/2011 08:00

Wow. you lot are keen!

Ok, I tested.

It's even fainter!
But... it came up within 3 minutes. So, a line's a line, right? Even if it's less of a BFP than a Tiny Incredibly Pale Wishy Washy Positive.

Do I celebrate, or go spend my month's salary in Boots on other things to wee on?

They really should make these things clearer!

OP posts:
OrangeGloss · 17/03/2011 06:50

have you peed yet? I agree with the pot idea, just in case you want to do another test

IreneHeron · 16/03/2011 15:23

Hope you get an answer soon Dastardly. I know how it feels, I had 3 of those negative then drying faintly positive ones. They were cheapo internet ones though. Then I got a different brand and got the BFP. If you're still late that's a good sign.

DastardlyandSmuttily · 16/03/2011 15:21

Ha ha, we have a head torch, that should do it! MIght take some explaining to DH why I'm taking that into the bathroom though...

Only 1 test left and no chance to go and get another one before tomorrow am afraid. Have a handy selection of pink pens though Grin

Grin

Equipment required for tomorrows testing:

Container for weeing in (so you can do more than one test if you want)

Industrial strength lamp and microscope for examining evidence

Plus I personally favour a red biro for drawing in own line if result is disappointing :)

Good luck :)
