I don't know if people remember me but I am JEDDAH and after TTC for nearly 2 years now I have just had 2 miscarriages, 1 in July at 6wks and 1 yesterday at 5.5wks.

I am in total shock that it happened twice .....I was almost relieved to have the 1st one as I know it is so common and I had got it out of the way!...but to have a seond miscarriage 3 months later....

Has anyone ever had this and then successfully got pregnant, I just need to hear something positive to spur me on.

Madness I know what you mean about the site making things more stressfull. I was a regular on this site about 9 months ago and i had to stop because it was stressing me out and really upsetting me. You take your time honey go at your own pace.

Can I say one thing though.... 2 of the members I stayed in contact with personally (contacted them by their personal email) and this was a great help, made it more personal and I was able to contact them regularly and it eased my pain and anxiety. I helped me so much and I owe them the earth!

If you want to chat contact me at my eamil through the 'contact another member'... if you like

TRACEY.... same goes for you honey.. if you are ver neededing some positive vibes, I dont usually do this but just to let you know that I am a midwife and Health Visitor (just incase you thought I wasa bit of a screw ball!)

GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH ANYWAY!

Hi Jeddah,

I have had 3 m/c, the first 2 were 15 years ago and they also happened just months apart. I only found out when i went for my scan that the baby had died a few weeks previously. I was devastated. I had to have the baby removed which made things even more difficult as they made me wait over the weekend until they adnitted me to hospital. Then 2 months later the same thing happened again. I went on to have a successful pregnancy and have a beautiful 14 year old daughter,if i had'nt miscarried i would'nt have her.

Four years ago i decided that i'd like another baby ad i became pg very quickly, this resulted in a miscarriage again. I could'nt beleive it was happening to me again but as i was a good bit older i did think that had something to do with it. I was 36 at the time, anyway a few months later i was pg again. I now have a 2 year old little girl. I am also currently TTC and i'm very worried about the same thing happening again. This is my third month TTC and i'm starting to get a little bit downhearted that nothing has happened yet.

I'm so sorry for your loss but the pain does ease with time. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone and there is every chance that you will have a healthy pg.

Good luck

Tracey

Hi Jeddah,

another day gone, "live goes on". I was about 11 weeks in March. To be honest the whole 11 weeks didn't feel right, had blding at 6 weeks as well. Only started trying last Dec, but because it happened so quickely at that time, makes it so disappointing it is lasting so long to get pregnant this time. Anyway, I try not to lurch too much on these threads because it just makes me more obsessed about the whole thing...
Good luck to you!

jeddah · 24/10/2005 22:37

Madness so sorry to hear about your 2nd mc....your due date should have been today!.... gosh this world is a cruel one!

I am 42 in a couple of weeks aswell!
How long have you been ttc?
Hope you don't mind me asking but... how many weeks were you when you mc in March, did it hit you very hard?? daft question really isn't it?.... mc always hits hard!

How are you? are you positive at the mo? I guess it make all the difference, the hardest is getting there though!

hewlettsdaughter · 22/10/2005 20:45

Your dh's count going up fivefold is great - and as you say, things look like they are happening! The thought that at least we were able to conceive did help me. HD x

jeddah · 22/10/2005 15:23

Thanks oaktree and hewlettsdaughter for sharing all that!

I have had all my hormone levels checked I have had an ultra sound scan of my ovaries and uterus and I have had a HSG to check my tubes all of which are normal!

my DH had a low count and since then we have taken on a healthier life style and on suppliments and his count is now up 5 fold!......

then after all this going our way.... 2 miscarriages.....I really am trying to stay positive... things look like they are happening and I am praying that the third time will be ok!

Thanks again for sharing your stories
will keep posting

jeddah. I am in my mid-30s. In 2003 I miscarried at 4.5/5 weeks in March and then again in May. My m/cs were early and happened naturally. I then conceived dd in July, who was born the following April.

I felt like you after my first m/c (you know, it happens, you just try and get on with things), but it was a real shock to have another one. In fact I felt quite angry - it was the subject of my first ever post on mumsnet.

If you want to know anything else just ask (on here or via 'contact another talker').

Meantime, as oaktree says, be kind to yourself (you too, oaktree).

oaktree · 22/10/2005 07:19

morning Jeddah
here you go
had DS at 38. had blighted ovum at 8 wks when he was 1 (I was 39). conceived 7 months later but that was a miised mc and had ERPC again at 8 wks (2 wks beofre my 40th). have been hvaing reflexology teh first 6months of this year.loved it bit obviuosly not very effective as had teh second mc in teh middle of it. have lately been trying acupuncture at one of thse chinses places that seem to be springing up in ervy town centre. ffel tht they saw me coming and ahve taken me for a ride as wehn i've read up alittel about it teh needles semed to be going in completely random places. teh consultant we saw after mc number 2 said my FSh levels were raied adn that could cotribute to difficulty conceiving plus risk of mc. have you had your checked? since tehn i am trying to be more careful about my diet - no caffeine, alcohol, restricted dairy. lots of freshfruit adn veg. only thing I can;t & won't give up is chocolate!!!!!! I was in a bad way after mc2 as I really didn't expect lighning to strike twice. I would say its takenme at least 6 months to not cryabout it whenver I think about it. I KNOW how lucky I am to ahve one child but in my mind I had named teh other 2 & I stilfond it devastint that my body is letting me down so badly.
So I know a littel of how you feel. please let me know if there's anything I can do to help & in teh meantime hnag on in thereand be kind to yourslef.

oaktree xxx
sorry crap at spelling at this hour.

jeddah a good friend of mine ttc for 18 months then suffered two miscarriages in 8 months. She now has two lovely boys. She had a d&c??? with 2nd miscarriage and then conceived again quite quickly with her first son. She was 36 at that time. Remember it being heartbreaking for her but a positive ending.

jeddah · 22/10/2005 00:15

Oaktree and hewlewttsdaughter...you have both had 2 miscarriages????

Feel like I need to know more of you guys and your predicaments???? if this is ok??

hewlettsdaughter · 20/10/2005 08:56

jeddah, I know what you mean about coping with the first m/c, but feeling really gutted about the second. I hadn't even known that I was pregnant for long, but it just seemed such a blow that it was happening all over again.

Glad to hear you are feeling determined - good luck!

oaktree · 20/10/2005 08:06

Can I just tell you that my Mum had 5 miscarriages / still births (at 26 weeks), then a forced termination through Rubella, then went on to have three healthy girls (I am the oldest) with no complications whatsoever. It DOES happen, OK?

I am sorry for your loss. It must be hard.

marinda · 19/10/2005 20:20

Whatever you do, don't give up - at least you know you CAN conceive ! The miscarriages must be tough though - but it does seem as an older woman this is what happens - I was half expecting it to happen to me ! I asked my midwife the age of the oldest woman whose birth she attended- she said it was 47 - and apparently a natural conception !! Hope it works for you !! Thinking of you !! I shall get back to my sleepless nights and feeding ! BTW have you heard from Hester ? - apparently she went in to labour on Monday

jeddah · 19/10/2005 18:43

oh my god marinda so pleased for the birth of your beautiful daughter!!!

Yes I did concieve naturally, chose to ignore all the drs and put my DH on suppliments whuch increased his results 5 fold!!!!!!! and we ditched the IVF

Sadly I have had the 2 miscarriages... the 1st.....was acceptable although very upset... but the second has gutted me! feel like there is something wrong with me!

I am so pleased for you though!

Hi Jeddah and welcome back - I was meaning to E-Mail you but I have recently lost all the contents of my hard drive !!! Did you manage to conceive naturally ?? I have just had a little girl Caitlyn - now 15 days old. One of my friends had a little girl at 45 - she had four miscarriages in the two years lead up to this. Hoping you will stay for a bit. Take care !

jeddah · 18/10/2005 22:17

thanks everyone I realise that I am luckier than others... so sorry peepee!

Just feeling low and needed a bit of a hand to get back up....feeling a little better after reading these mails

Thanks again girls!

peepee · 18/10/2005 20:37

JEDDAH,
There are lodsa people out there older than you that have had pregnancies.
Try not to worry too much. A close freind of mine at 42 opted for IVF as she had been told her eggs were old and that's why she could not conceive. She had the IVF and a baby girl. Not long after she had a m/c but then conceived again (without IVF)and is gonna have another girl.
There is hope for all of us. I have just had a 5th m/c and am still positive that one day I will hold my own baby.

KristinaM · 18/10/2005 20:16

Sorry to hear about your MC Jeddah. I had an early MC ( 6 weeks) when i was 41, then got preg again right away. Had baby just after i was 42. Got preg again when baby was 9 months old just before my 43rd birthday. That baby's due in a few weeks - everything fine so far.

Hope you find this encouraging - there are lots of other old up the duffers here who got pregnant quickly & it worked out ok - hope it happens for you too soon

hewlettsdaughter · 18/10/2005 20:15

jeddah - sorry to hear about your miscarriages

I was pregnant 3 times in 5 months in 2004. The first two pregnancies ended with early miscarriages at around 4.5/5 weeks. The third one resulted in my dd...

Nemo666 · 18/10/2005 20:14

hi hun ((((((((hugs))))))))) I dont have the age thing which I know is something you are concerned about, however I had 2 early mcs 6 wks and 7wks before getting pg with my son who is now 2. I then had a missed mc last dec but am currently 7tmh pregnant. So the mcs can happen in a row so to speak but it doesnt mean you wont get pg and carry to term. At least you know you are able to concieve, may be worth speaking to gp about ways to maintain pregnancy if at all possible?

spidermama · 18/10/2005 20:11

Two of my six pregnancies miscarried btw.
