owlbooty · 03/03/2011 12:19

Nix that is v.v.exciting, how lovely :) Nothing like that happening here yet, I like to kid myself it is because I have such marvellous stomach muscles (lies, lies, utter lies) Tis probably because of the flab layer Grin

Btw; you can't eat cake? wtf? What a nightmare. Pass it over here missus, I shall nobly eat all the cake for you.

Daisy and others - I didn't find the 12 week scan helped me connect either. The private one was a bit better as the doc took much longer so we saw more moving around and so on, but I still can't really believe there's a baby in there. I suspect that does get better when the kicking starts in earnest.

And I shall be checking my knickers until Owlet arrives, oh yes.

Wombat am v.pleased your results were reassuring, that is top news. Gonna join us in Grads now? Eh? Eh?

onions crumpets with cheese and worcestershire sauce on, under the grill. I could eat those til I exploded.

Tunnocks was having a scan Friday as well, yes? Good luck Tunnocks and Moo and Orange x

Daisybell1 · 03/03/2011 11:50

PS I asked the MW yesterday about the pee-problems. She was great, very sympathetic!

She's going to talk to the Obstetric Physiotherapist about any exercises which I can do, and also raise the issue of those little weighted things. Hopefully, we may yet have a solution which doesn't involve the tablets or me having accidents Grin

If anyone else is in the same boat, it may be worth asking at the hospital

hotnspicyonions · 03/03/2011 09:55

Just a quickie! Eee those were the days Wink

Good luck dach and emoo today. Great news that tests and scans are coming back positive.

MummyA I too am blabbermouth. It's not in my nature to keep quiet about anything. I'd like my mind wiped until 12 weeks!

Nickster Envy at feeling baby move. I love it when that starts happening, v v v exciting indeed!

Had minor meltdown this morning. Just stood gazing around the kitchen when I should have been making DS's lunch! Couldn't function. But after 2 crumpets am feeling slightly more human! Am putting on shedloads of weight, now weigh 13 stone! Good job I don't work near/in a farm. People would be herding me in for milking Wink!

Catch ya later lovelies. Huge waves to everyone else.

mrsrobinredbreast · 03/03/2011 09:51

Morning All,

Good Luck Emoo and Dachs today.

Nix, fab that you felt the first kicks. Such an amazing feeling.

Daisybell Don't worry about what you think you should be feeling after the scan. I always thought with DD that it felt a bit unreal until I started to show a bit and she started to move. It'll happen, don't worry.

Wombat Fab news on your scan results.

Knitter, yep I really struggle to get warm at the moment. Except at night when I am blimmin roasting. Have the summer duvet on already and window open. What's that about? Poor DH.

Waves to Orange, Pink, Digi, MummyA, A&R and all those I have missed.

Chicken pox has arrived in our house, my DD is covered in spots. I have had them and last time I was pg was tested for immunity so I think I'm okay. Going to speak to midwife anyway. DH on the other hand hasn't and I've heard it's horrid in adults so I am preparing myself to be a nurse for the next few weeks.

Off now to wait on DD who is lying on settee watching Winnie the Pooh.

Daisybell1 · 03/03/2011 09:43

Good luck today Emoo and Dachs, every thing crossed here that all's ok

Pink and Nix I'm struggling to get water down too - squash makes things much more bearable for me!

Pink the scan on Saturday is a private NT one as my health authority doesn't offer that. I'm actually looking forward to getting a clear picture of the mini-farmer, rather than worrying about the results....

Waves hello to all others, sorry for missing people!

and Pink I dreamt about fruit cake last night, woke up desperate for some Grin

mamapower · 03/03/2011 09:05

emoo & Dachs good luck with your scans x

pink I am the opposite... gave up knicker checking weeks ago!! You've had great scans, i'm sure your bean is well truly nestled in Smile

Have a good day all, gotta dash, I need to stuff some fruit into myself to get me through a long dull meeting!!

Wombat33 · 03/03/2011 08:26

Morning ladies!

Good luck to Emoo and Dachs and anyone else having a scan today!

Pink hugs re the bleeding fear xxx I am getting that too but everytime I go to the loo I am bleeding Confused still brown but still coming daily...

Nix I can't wait to get to the kicking stage! I think that will make it all seem more real. Still, as this is my first I quite probably have another 10 weeks to wait for that.

Can't remeber who asked about my 50/50 stats (A&R?). It's a bit of a long one but it's because I have congential abnormalities myself. The geneticists say that my (minor) limb abnormalities usually have a genetic cause with a dominent inheritance pattern, but they don't know in my case which gene is affected (assuming they are right about it being genetic in the first place). So they can't test for it, because they don't know which gene to look at and it's not possible to analyse the entire genome of the fetus and they can't say what other impact an anomally of that gene might have on any given fetus who inherits it (or in genetics terms, how the faulty gene will express itself). So it's a bit of a wait and see situation!! However, having had normal scans which seem to show correct limbs, fingers and toes for this stage of development and normal nuchal and bloods, I'm starting to really hope/believe that this bub is not affected. Fingers crossed!!!! Grin

Orange good luck for your scan tomorrow!!!

nickstermum · 03/03/2011 07:18

YES re the water pink.. couldnt drink it, would spit it out! Juice, squash and fresh orange or apple juice were all i could swig by the gallon Grin and the knicker checking! I still say something along the lines of "please god, no bleeding" every time i go to the loo, and not particularly religious!..even now.

I have a real thing about textures too.. hence my passion for tomatoes. Cant really eat cake, still off chocolate, but anything fruity and fresh is yummy :)

Best of luck for scan emoo xx and orange tomorrow xx

Orange yes 10 days is great, esp as i have only had to book off 3 days across the bank hols.:)

PinkFondantFancy · 03/03/2011 06:56

orange fingers crossed tomorrows scan will be v reassuring! emoo consider your hand firmly held by us while you're at the scan today.

Sorry about all the typos everywhere-phone thinks it knows best and makes me look mental. For example, I in fact have a HANKERING for cake. Although I'd like to have a hamper-ful too....

OrangeGloss · 03/03/2011 06:47

Emoo I'm thinking of you today, sorry you're having such a tough time

Wombat excellent news on the scan Grin
Nix - kicking?! Oh how wonderful!! Envy 10 days still good tho, no? Your mat leave will hopefully start soon enough and you'll be back home again
Daisy I think I know what you mean, after seeing a scan it's been over 2 weeks and I'm struggling to imagine what's happening at the moment. Shame you didn't have a better view during, and your pic isn't very clear x

I'm just counting the hours until tomorrows scan [wobbly emoticon] I'll be 13+5, and am hoping it might set my mind at ease a bit

PinkFondantFancy · 03/03/2011 06:37

nix Envy Envy at moving baby but that is v v cool, v excited for you!

daisy is this your first baby? I don't think you sound ungrateful-your experience sounds a bit rubbish actually given it's such a huge milestone. Someone else was saying their 12 week scan was unexpectedly rushed and efficient too. How come you're going on Saturday too? Is Saturday private? Hopefully they won't rush you so much then. I'd never considered what happens if working sheepdogs are ill! I would love to have pet lambs in the kitchen!! I think I have a secret hampering to experiment with the good life-commuting to London isn't all it's cracked up to be

Good luck today dacha and emoo!! I am loving having the list, my brain can't keep track otherwise! Thanks mama and mummy for giving it a spruce up!

mamap tooty fruities???! Omg I need some NOW!!! I also work up with a desperate urge for fruitcake.....

Do any of you have the problem that you get thirsty but after you've drunk water you want to puke? I'm not actually being sick, just feeling that way but drinking seems to bring on the waves of nausea....

I am a bit annoyed with myself-am havingmy weekly we'd/thurs wobble that I'm bleeding and it's going to go wrong-I'm not bleeding but have had some dampness and end up running to the toilet petrified :( am scared I'm going talk myself into it-do any of you have this particular type of mentalling?? Please tell me how to just chill a bit!!!

Emoo · 03/03/2011 06:33

Wow nix!!! must be a grand feeling, those first kicks! Congrats.

A&R thanks for the hanky - to shed a few tears if it's all gone wrong, and the tin hat - to shed a bucketload of tears if it's all ok!!

Touch of insomnia here...

nickstermum · 03/03/2011 06:13

20 days...? bloody big fat sausage fingers... 10 days off... Doh! Grin

nickstermum · 03/03/2011 06:12

YIKES.... definately felt the baby (yes baby!!) move during the night... defined kicks... I THINK!

Grin Grin

AR am ok thanks, probably wont start ML til July ish sometime. FT is tough but the last 2 weeks i have worked 3 days per week from home with 2 days in MK/Bristol with a stop over so its not been too bad. I am supposedly getting a development assistant [hopeful emoticon] whether that happens yet i dont know. We just got the go ahead yesterday from my customer for more products and associated systems which triples my workload...so its definatelyl needed. Shattered though. DH being great and helping round the house etc, but my ironing pile is ever growing Hmm...loving the challenge and its a fab career move but I still miss the extra days with DS. 20 days off at easter so that will be great Grin

KnitterNotTwitter · 02/03/2011 23:22

fx to tomorrows scanners

night night ladies (and Brian )

AandRMum · 02/03/2011 22:06

Oh good luck scanners emoo and dachs. It feels like sending you off to combat

Emoo · 02/03/2011 21:55

Dachs I see you also have a scan tomorrow - hope all goes well with you and the pups!

Emoo · 02/03/2011 21:51

Thanks everyone for your kind words of reassurance and encouragement. I feel like I'm awaiting sentencing tomorrow.

Congrats wombat on the nuchal result. Am a bit mystified as to how they know the 50/50 statistic if they don't know what the condition is?

daisy well done on the scan I think it is quite normal to not bond until much later. I know with me and dd it was not until I got home from hospital and she was still there that I knew there was a part of me missing.

digi glad you got through the day successfully.

mummyocd and mamaocd pmsl at your list tidying antics!

knitter yes, I too feel cold and am wrapping up lots!

AandRMum · 02/03/2011 21:22

wombat am Grin madly - so happy you have had good results!!! The nuchal gives me a real scare.

daisy so glad bub is doing well. I am a 20w girl in terms of baby bonding - I need a decent bump to rub to make it real. It is also extremely normal to not connect until sometime after birth. DD2 took a little bit - I love babies in general so it wasn't a big problem but it was a good month or so until I had that 'heart living outside your body' feelings for her.

Don't get too excited on the superwoman label (although am now secretly imagining myself in superhero outfit - airbrushed of course) I am sadly very male and can't multi-task for the life of me hence my rabbit in headlights impression. I just get overexcited and say yes to everything. Your OH sounds very sensible Daisy mamap me and my 50 year old body are going to be propping up your bar once you are open!!

nix thanks hon - I have a pt nanny who is wonderful - I think i will settle down once we get going as the thought of it all is much worse than the reality will be. When are you starting ML? How are you coping with full-time?

mummya I am rather surprised at my restraint - I am normally blab central. My DSis guessed just because I said I was warm and I told DMum which means the whole clan knows but are sworn to secrecy to not mention it to me which suits me fine Still grinning about your sweet Dad knitter

No real symptoms this way other than continuously losing keys and purses and I've been freezing too! Might be because dh is a cheapskate and keeps reducing the heater settings!

Daisybell1 · 02/03/2011 20:37

Thank you all for the reassurance, I feel less of an ungrateful cow now Grin. We have a very blurred out of focus picture but hopefully saturday's will be much clearer.

Wombat that's fab news re your results, absolutely brilliant! Nice job too, I'm a land agent so spend time hanging around farms for work as well as home. Plus, if you're worried about toxo, you can be tested for it at your booking in bloods - they took an extra armful from me today to test.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Digi

Nix Blackcurrant and licquorice humbugs - awesome!!!!
