PS EMOO there is a lot of scary stuff on google about subchronic hemotomas, this is one of the less scary pages:

miscarriage.about.com/od/amimiscarrying/p/subchorionic.htm

This is something that i have been told to watch out for as an AS suffer - cant say I know much about it though.

AandRMum · 03/03/2011 17:12

Yeah for emoobean - special bean sized tinhat for you! I want to get hardhats (and hi viz jackets with their names on them!) for our DDs for when they visit site - dh thinks I am mad but what a momento of the build (jinx pixies cover your ears) I want to make a hiviz onesy and cloth hardhat for the bean as well!

Think I had a hint ms today ... and have already checked out muffin rings on Lakeland.

How is the audit going?

MummyAbroad · 03/03/2011 17:11

Really pleased for you Emoo Grin

I NEED some crumpets now too!

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 17:00

Think Dachs is our other scan lady today...

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 16:59

wombat :)
Muffins are also good.... love 'em for breakfast with poached eggs... mmmmm

Wombat33 · 03/03/2011 16:55

Fab news Emoo!

Who else was having a scan today?

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 16:14

Great news Emoo... does it help you relax at all?

Wombat33 · 03/03/2011 16:12

OMG just logged on and now think I need to make an emergency dash to buy crumpets. Back soon! Grin

Emoo · 03/03/2011 15:46

And Dachs?

Emoo · 03/03/2011 15:44

Phew! Good news for Emoobean today - still there, heart still beating, and has grown as expected. Bleeding was due to a subchorionic haematoma and is likely to continue. They won't see me again, I just have to wait it out until the ~12 week scan. Very pleased. And blubbed like a baby in the scan room, prompting choruses of "bless you" from the scan ladies. Thanks everyone for the hand holding, tin hats, limb and digit crossing, etc.

Pink - sorry, I don't know of a way to prevent the wobbles - but if you find one out, do please share! Being asked to "wee under pressure" sounds kind of dangerous - I have visions of it squirting out like a jetwash. I'd take your own pot - but only if they're just planning to dip it, not culture it (you would need a sterile pot for this).

Orange - good luck for tomorrow's scan, and Daisy too for Saturday's. And I hope you get somewhere with the physio.

Wombat - it was me that asked about the 50/50 . Sounds encouraging if it's something they would be able to see on a scan if it's wrong, and as for the other bits of gene expression - well, you're okay, hey?

Mamap - hope you survived your meeting. And I have to take issue with Brian on the 5-a-day issue. Surely if there are 5 different colours, just one packet of tooty fruities makes up your entire 5-a-day quota? Ditto skittles/opal fruits/insert fruity sweet of choice.

Robin - oh your poor DD - how old is she? I hope she doesn't get it too badly. And I definitely hope DH doesn't get it, as I'm sure man-chickenpox is far worse than normal adult-chickenpox...

Onions, Owl - I agree, crumpets always a good bet. Muffins too. Fruitcake. Tooty frooties. Jelly babies... You are not alone in the weight-gaining stakes! Knitter - I had no idea one could actually MAKE crumpets... I can just about open a packet and press the button on the toaster..

MummyA - hooraaahhh for coloured knickers. I think after this morning I should go out and buy a 3 week supply of reddish brown ones, but it doesn't sound attractive.

Wondering how teacake is today?

MummyAbroad · 03/03/2011 14:47

knitter this one but because I am at high altitude I have to use less yeast and a bit more flour because its humid here. Learned that from my bread machine (best purchase ever! no more rubbish Costa Rican Air Bread for meGrin)

If it didnt rise it might be because it wasnt in a warm enough place? Sometimes it just takes longer to do it if its not warm enough, either that or there wasnt enough suger/fat for the yeast to feed off.

Now, can anyone tell me how to make hot cross buns (even better if I can mix the batter in my bread machineGrin)

oh and Easter Eggs too (cant buy them here eitherSad )

PinkFondantFancy · 03/03/2011 14:29

I love you brian xxx

Hopefully phone will charge at home and I can catch up with you all later!

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 14:28

Hmmm

Well the crumpets aren't quite as you get in the shops... but they taste bloomin' nice

I think my batter was a bit thick so it didn't rise as much as advertised... More milk next time :) MummyA whose recipe do you use?

owlbooty · 03/03/2011 14:03

Btw, nice work on the puking, Pink Grin

owlbooty · 03/03/2011 14:02

Hehehehe sorry Brian Grin

Pink you can get some spare pots from the surgery normally; I've nicked some from work (tut) but at least it means I can go to the appts without the sneezing/full bladder worry. Classy, oh yes.

Those crumpets sound lush.

YourFriendBrian · 03/03/2011 13:53

Useless lump hey owl?! I am hurt and putting that shameful outburst down to your hormones Grin , but here,

So here we are my lovely ladies, one day away from the weekend, and what little treats are in store for each of you?

Pink GP's/MW's/Nurses they're all the same my love, humiliation first, treat the patient second so my advice... take a pot of pee with you Grin

Mummy I am sure your dh will be delighted at your move away from white... assuming you haven't put him on sexy time restrictions like so many do, in which case, you'll have to stand in front of the mirror and just admire the colour for yourself Grin

Knitter are you a lady what lunches?? Also, could I have a jam crumpet please, mmmm!

Where are our 2 scanners today, I hope all is well with them and their little beans Smile

Nix what a lovely feeling, nothing like a little flutter to feel assured, I'm sure Smile

mamap my love, tooty fruities do not count towards your 5 a day Wink

To all those having scans tomorrow, good luck, in particular to teacake

Well my little poppets, you are all doing well so I will love you and leave, until the next time...

Lots of love
Brian

MummyA Exciting news on the pants front....

In similar news my DS went off to the childminders in a fetching pair of dinosaur pants this morning... 5 pairs for £3 from ASDA yeasterday = one very happy boy :)

Hope yours are also highly decorative :)

nix true.. although the only reason I've got so much time is because I'm signed off sick 50% of the time at the moment due to the post ectopic and MMC wobble I had... :(

Daisybell1 · 03/03/2011 13:41

Knitter think of those of us who are in the public sector who will have to work those days because everyone else has booked them off.

Not resentful at all. Grrr.

Although if all this works out, I have 5 weeks leave to use before the end of August Grin

nickstermum · 03/03/2011 13:35

knitter...you have too much time on your hands....Grin

MummyAbroad · 03/03/2011 13:34

xposts with the lunchtimers! I am sat in my pj's having my first morning cup of tea, not much fabulousness going on here. Grin

Pink dont forget to NOT collect the first bit of wee that comes out and dont let the pot touch your bits, so it doesnt get "contaminated" with girl juice. I'd definitely do it in the comfort of your own home

MummyAbroad · 03/03/2011 13:29

popped on for news of dach and emoo hope all went well.

Hi knitter I make my own crumpets (cant buy them here - boo) you need some metal rings, much better if you have loads of rings and a huge hot plate/biggest pan you've got otherwise doing them in batches takes aaaaaages.

In my news, I am now allowing myself to wear a full range of coloured knickers instead of the obligatory white I have been wearing for the last few months. Not got an reason for this sudden burst of confidence, but it feels nice to make a change!

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 13:27

Pink can't hurt to take a pot of wee with you... or do one while you're waiting for the appointment. When pregnant with the MMC I'd picked up a handful of wee pots in anticipation of lots of visits where they were required. Found them a few days ago lurking at the back of a drawer bit sad that they didn't get used back then but happy that at least they'll get used this time...

Also it occured to me last night that this pg was probably concieved exactly a year after the ecopic was concieved... Ectopic was 'due' 25th Oct.. this one is due 21st Oct... I quite like the symmetry of that...

PinkFondantFancy · 03/03/2011 13:21

I'm lurking but my iPhone is refusing to charge so with my 4% battery it's unlikely to last long :( gah.

I puked this morning Grin awesomeness!

I have my midwife appointment next week, whoop! Do you reckon I should bring my own pot of wee to reduce the risk of being asked to wee under pressure?

mamap you are using the power of logic-why is it that you are still able to use rationalness and logic????

KnitterNotTwitter · 03/03/2011 13:16

owl OMG a 'miserable yoghurt' that sounds hideous... does it sigh a lot and give off gloomy vibes...

Obv. I'm making double recipe of the crumpets and will be serving them up here fresh from the pan in bout 30 mins.... Put your requests for toppings in now.. Classic Butter, Butter and Honey, Butter and Strawberry Jam and, for the truely depraved, Butter and Marmite...

owlbooty · 03/03/2011 13:13

Ps. Knitter , chuck us a crumpet when you're done please Grin
