Good Luck to everyone having scans today xxx

AandRMum · 22/02/2011 07:39

Same here velvet very jealous of tunnocks 2-3 weeks.

Not to be a killjoy but I read 1 Kripee Kreme doughnut = 1 whole chicken in terms of calories!!! Not sure if it is true but certainly stopped me from eating them (very difficult as they were standard mtg food)

DoubleDiffedDachs · 22/02/2011 07:38

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone with scans today :)

OrangeGloss · 22/02/2011 07:13

Just read about someone having MMCs at 12/13 weeks and am now barely able to think straight :( my 16 week appointment seems so far away and I'm terrified I'll get there and not be able to hear anything. MC Association says 99.4% chance....must keep repeating it :( sorry for being on a downer, being away from home doesn't help

tonythetyger · 21/02/2011 20:00

Dachs - have a look on the multiples thread. You're likely to find advice on budget and where you can get good second hand things there. I'm not daring to post there until I'm a bit further along. Booking in tomorrow and then consultant on wednesday with probable scan.

OrangeGloss · 21/02/2011 18:13

Bee how did the number crunching go?
PV I think your comment was possibly to me, if so, thanks :)
Tunnocks I do remember you from what feels a long time ago, congrats Grin Grin I'm sure a bit if Brie and lemsip so early have made no difference
Hairy! ((hugs)) I hope you're doing as best you can, and am looking forward to that time in the near future you give us some good news :)
Emoo thinking of your scan tomorrow, I think cramps are normal from what everyone says
Nix I dreamt I had a scan and it wasn't moving, and no one would believe me :( glad you've had some heartbeat reassurance
Digi I wish you mega-puking and fatigue all week Grin seriously, I'm willing time to go fast so you can get some reassurance

Mmm eggs :) :) or donut mountain, I'd settle for either. OMFG Krispy Kreme are awesome !

Wombat good news on the bloating/uncomfortableness :) not long now until scan
Knitter KK have concessions but they're made in store I think rather than KK themselves, might be wrong. I was eyeing em up at a service station yesterday

Who's Brian?!?!

I agree with Pink CBD can be evil! I measured 11 days behind from my LMP too
Velvet the thing that would stop me flying first tri would be ms, flight back from Oz twas awful (found out out there). But then I'm currently avoiding anything and everything without rational thought
Mamap I gave up on my size 10/12 clothes a few weeks ago, and currently living in pre-diet clothes which is a bit strange and never thought I'd be pleased with that
Heron I think I read headaches are a symptom

I'm on a residential course this week, trying to act normal while I constantly eat plain crackers and drink Ribena. And booked my 16 week app eek! So scared there won't be a heartbeat, or not even making it that far :(

IreneHeron · 21/02/2011 18:02

Wombat, Knitter Pink , thanks for your sympathy. I've been glugging water and the headache has subsided. And had a nice cup of tea and some lemon drizzle cake.

Envy of all you people jetting off. I'd love a holiday. Not been away for ages and not likely too. We're totally broke at the moment as we've just moved house and our new business isn't really properly running yet.

When I was pg with DS I flew short hall at 29 weeks. I think that was the latest I was allowed to fly.

wakarimasen · 21/02/2011 17:38

velvet I went to Japan last April and it was absolutely fantastic. The levels of healthcare there are fab and I'm sure you'll be fine to fly. There are lots of food options with cooked meats like beef, pork or chicken with noodles. Sushi is not the only option! LKet me know where you are going and I'll give you some tips! Smile

I am also going away in six weeks this time to Sri Lanka. Slightly worried as more likely to get sick there so will have to be very careful. Just hope everything goes well with this preg otherwise I might not be able to go Sad

I also still have the brown stuff and I did a CB today. I nearly leaped through the ceiling when it said 3+ as I never got to that last time (I'm 5+4 today).

Good luck for all the scans tomorrow and the rest of the week. Positive karma to all....

PinkFondantFancy · 21/02/2011 17:27

Also, velvet I think the flight would be ok but do you think you'd be constantly paranoid about what you could eat with all that raw meat and fish and rice about?

PinkFondantFancy · 21/02/2011 17:25

Oh on flying, my friend who had a MMC last year went to Dubai earlier this year at prob about 20 weeks and loved it-it's worth considering, v luxurious so nice for a 'just the two of you hol' and just a 5 hour flight.

My boobs are a bit bigger and the underwire digs in but I tried some non wired bras on Saturday-BOAK!!!! NO WAY am I buying them!!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 21/02/2011 17:23

Blush mrsteacake I'm Sooo rude-I can't believe I forgot to say hello!! V v pleased to see you here too lovely.

heron i have a banging headache too. I've realised it's probably something to do with the half bottle of Ribena I've drunk and the sugar content of that...... My teeth are itching just at the thought....

Mmm you taste like monster munch!! Xx

Wombat33 · 21/02/2011 17:21

Has there been enough talk of inflating boobs for me to dance in a little circle and gleefully announce (repeat??) that I am now bigger than a 32B for the first time in my entire life Grin Grin Grin

Heron I'm with Knitter - water can do the world of good for headaches. Worth a try?

On flying, I'm fretting about it too. Not just to flight, but the scanners and the beiing somewhere other than UK in case something happens thing. I don't have any basis at all for this - in fact everything I've read has said it's no problem in the first tri - but who said pg worries have to be rational?! Smile I'm hoping I've now successfully dodged work-related travel in the first tri (at one point it looked like I might be visiting three countries, two long-haul in a week at about the time I MC last time round! Shock) but I suspect I'm going to have to go early in the second tri. Part of me would also like to make one more overseas trip with DH 'just the two of us' before baby arrives. So if I get that far, I might just screw my courage to the sticking post and go for it at about 19/20 wks (I have the time already booked off work, though obv I'd have to make sure I'm around for my 20wk scan). Gosh, I still can't believe I'll actually make it that far though. Seems like a bit of a dream rather than potential reality.

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 16:47

heron big hug... FWIW I'm a big beliver in water making headaches better....

mamapower · 21/02/2011 16:40

Grin yes teacake I am sure work is the last thing you want to do right now, ooooh so exciting. I am 7+6 (gestational age - I am special because of late ov, my lmp would put me at 9+1 today!). I've had 2 scans and saw the little heartbeat and am now officially discharged from the care of EPAU... got my booking in apt on fri. Have you been to doc's yet, are you going to ask for an early scan?

IreneHeron · 21/02/2011 16:38

Hiya All,

Sorry for very short post. Just a wave really as I've had a really bad headache today. I'm sure it's caffeine withdrawal symptoms. I've been unbearable to live with today, had rows with DH because I've a sore head and feel sick and tired.

Forgot to go to the doctor's today too.

Off for a rest now, but DS will probably start poking me and sitting on my head until I play with him.

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/02/2011 16:36

tunnock love the idea of a BFP holiday - that gets my vote

nickstermum · 21/02/2011 16:27

Grin sicky ferry is great when you have to occupy a child. Never attempted it pg though! uh oh...

velvet i would probably go short haul. I read up before i flew in pg 1 and what i read advised me not to fly in tri 1. (hence we booked a jolly in tri 2) having said that, like jolls says.... pre-MC worry days! That pg was totally carefree! No MC history, no bleeding, no knicker checking. Thats just what i would do velvet, others on here have differing opinions as to what is right for them. Like the eggs thing Grin

I would say do your research..and talk to your carrier and take it from there :)

I am not a great flyer anyway... any reason to avoid it :) My worry re flying was that flights have always fiddled with my cycle and i thought it may meddle with a burrowing baby iykwim?! probably nothing in it at all.... Grin

ooh i have just booked 3 days hol at Easter and that gives me 10 days off over the bank hols FAB!

x-posts, see owl is agrees too and is so right, the work of the devil! Grin

mamapower · 21/02/2011 16:20

Hi all, been a busy bee!

Look what I missed Teacake yay! Mahoooosive congrat's hon and welcome, great to see you Grin Grin

I'm with Pink 100% step away from the digi's, they are great for confirming pg early on but other than that cause more angst than is necessary.

Velvet on the flying front, do what makes you comfortable. There is no reason to not fly in the first tri-mester, there is nothing about it that can harm you or bean, if in doubt talk it though with your GP/MW.

Nix Are you still happily munching rabbit food? I am currently trying to convince my body it needs fruit and salad and not crap... I just had an apple, small steps Grin

In my news, my boobs have got to comedic proportions but I just can't bring myself to get a mat bra until 12 weeks so just picked up some bra extensions in Jojo MB. Emoo was it you who posted the link for vests or something with inbuilt support? Could you re-post link... desperate times. also, nothing round my waste does up any more good by size 10 waist Sad , hello emergency shopping trip tomorrow! Finally Morning sickness is now all day sickness, but still managing to keep it down!

Waves to all

DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/02/2011 16:19

I'm sure I don't know what you mean by that nudge owl I only used about ummmm....... Blush

mrsrobinredbreast · 21/02/2011 16:09

Am sure flying is fine. I flew at 6 weeks with DD and went to see customers in France who served me raw meat (well steak) which I pushed round my plate then tried to hide under my knife and fork, like a child would. That was more stressful than flying!

Owl and Nix, going to France for our hols too. Though by "sicky" ferry, Owl. I like your attitude, I've been worrying that it wouldn't be the right thing to do. This pregnancy lark makes me find things to worry about, I swear!

owlbooty · 21/02/2011 16:02

I'm going to start confiscating the evil CB digis at the door Grin They are the work of the devil, those things.

I think it's another mandatory thread entry criteria to pee on at least one and worry about it though we've all done it, let's not pretend we haven't Grin

I would happily fly anywhere until the point where it is not allowed; I reckon that sitting at my desk all day without moving is far more damaging. I suspect even now though the airline 'food' would make me boak.

Am going over to the Netherlands in April and maybe France in May to see relatives; am damned if I am going on the sicky ferry. :)

Also dacha has an instructive story about how one of her little beans has clearly implanted quite a few days after the other. And mamap has a gestational age about a week behind where she was expecting it to be.

Just another couple more reasons to ignore the CB digi!!!
