hils pull up a beanbag and make yourself at home! Feel free to add yourself to the list if you fancy.

tunnocks that is good work! I would do the same except I'm trying to use up ones that came in a jar-BAD IDEA!!

daisy fabulous news, and hearing the heartbeat must have been wonderful Grin

I have to confess my first day of channelling mamap's zen fell flat on its face when I spent about 12 hours crying and full-on mentalling..... The reason is that less than 8 hours after seeing a lovely scan of pinkbean, the dr called to say my progesterone has dropped a bit and that I need to double the amount of supplements I'm taking and have a repeat blood test on Tuesday. Now bearing in mind he didn't sound very panicked, for some reason I still took this as my queue to panic and imagine doom is just around the corner.... However, dachs has talked some sense into me and I am taking the much more pragmatic view that it's a very variable measure anyway, bean was fine yesterday, if it goes wrong I can't stop it anyway, and I'll just have to deal with it if that time comes. And breathe!!! I am soooo Envy Envy of the girls I see on Facebook that put a picture of their BFP as their profile pic, assume that it means a baby will arrive in 9 months, then it does!! owl did you find anyone willing to dish out lobotomies as I am sorely in need of one...!!!!

I am such a geek-I found a list of the 100 books you really should read and realised that I loved reading when I was young but ran out of time as I became a teenager and so have missed most of these books. So I went on a bit of a spree on Amazon and 6 turned up today, soooo excited and can't decide which to start first!!

Welcome Hils :) pull up a beanbag and make yourself at home & congratuations!

Some people in here have had early scans, others haven't - depends on how you want to handle things and what does and doesn't make you stressed. Some in here are also having more scans that normal because of IVF, previous ectopic, consultant care etc.

daisybean nice work on the mooning Grin

Daisybell1 · 05/03/2011 16:11

Am on phone so afraid I can't name-check everyone but can I join the lengthy queue to thump wombat's consultant?

Had NT scan this morning & it was lovely! We got to hear the heartbeat, & see all the details. Little sod tyke didn't want to play ball though & insisted we spend 10mins looking at its bottom.

But I bawled like a baby when they told me the results were fine.

Hope everyone's having a fab & relaxing weekend.

Ps i'd agree with the advice to see the most junior dr in the practice - mine wee'd himself with fear when I cried & referred me immediately.

Velvetcu · 05/03/2011 12:47

Lol tunnocks I'm having problems remembering whether I've taken my tablet or not too!

Yay Digi on reaching 8 weeks :)

Hils74 · 05/03/2011 12:43

Hi ladies, mind if I join? Just had my second BFP after an mc in Jan.

Got pg on my WTF cycle, so no idea how many weeks, CBDigi said 2-3 weeks so approx 4-5 weeks?

Has anyone asked for an early scan to make sure there is something there? Not sure what to ask the doc when I go in a few weeks?

8 weeks today!!

Haven't told ds yet. He's 2.7 don't think he'll get it yet. Plus he hates me holding other babies Hmm

nickstermum · 05/03/2011 08:02

Knitter my DS asked me the other day how the baby got there, and how it is coming out!

My reply... a special egg from mummy, and a special seed from daddy mixed up together and a magic wizard put it in my tummy! Confused Then as to how its coming out.. through a special baby hole near my front bottom

had the most hideous dream last night... hideous and every time i woke up i went back to the same one.. it was about a very late miscarriage.. :( blardy subconscious.

Pink next counselling session is 18/3... same day as my 9 week scan.... I've moved the counselling to 11am from 3pm so that I only have to do one trip to the hospital that day... Particularly as the counselling is in the EPU and if it's bad news at the scan I wouldn't want to have to walk back through the EPU later that day... But I'm SURE it'll all be fine.

Told DS that there was a baby in my belly the other day. He asked me if I'd eaten it. I explained that daddy helped me put it there and it was teeny tiny at the moment but would grow bigger soon. Today he had a listen to my tummy and said he could hear the baby talking :) He knew about the baby that was the MMC and used to talk to it down my belly button. He was really good when I told him that it had gone away and stopped talking about it instantly. So I'm not afraid of explaining it to him if this one doesn't work out too.

Have made blueberry muffins.... proffers tray to everyone... get 'em while they're hot :)

nickstermum · 04/03/2011 19:14

Try not to fret, you have had scans, bean is fine, placenta will be taking over, if it hasnt already.... and you will be able to relax a bit more xxx

nickstermum · 04/03/2011 19:13

Wombat

I think it was digi (?) that suggested incompetent cervix to me when i went to a&e.. and when i brought it up with the MW she was totally dismissive. Wont check it etc... even though my cervix got completely hammered during my DS birth [problematic delivery] and i could smell sperm in the discharge, even though we hadnt had sex, which is the smell of fluid.

The placenta is likely to already be working my lovely, i think it starts to kick in from 8 weeks. When i was scanned at 14 weeks i asked about it, and the sonographer didnt think she would be able to see it...but then just said " oh its fully functioning!"
Perhaps the brown is the placenta taking over ? I know several people who have bled around that time.

mamapower · 04/03/2011 18:50

Shock OMG wombat that's f'ing disgraceful!! How you didn't punch him or burst into tears I don't know!! (((hugs)))

mamapower · 04/03/2011 18:48

orange hooray for your bean and a lovely scan

velvet honestly some mw's have no understanding or empathy! Just seen you'll be 8 weeks in 2 weeks time so that would be a good time for scan to give you reassurance Smile

knitter glad the counselling went well Smile

wakari & cep are you two lurking? is everything going well for you both?

digi snap! I am just trying v hard to keep it disguised for another 3 weeks!

owlbooty · 04/03/2011 18:42

I have never had abs. I have flabs instead. Congrats on the bump emergence, Digi Grin

velvet glad the goo has subsided. Random bowel happenings is a splendid symptom and I remember it, er, fondly. I was particularly flummoxed by the diarrhoea as all the book say constipation. The books lie, evil books.

Today seems to have been a good day all round and tis lovely to have all our scan peeps back in one piece.

Tooty-frooties and ribena all round!

Wombat33 · 04/03/2011 18:37

Evening al!! Yey to Pink, Orange and especially Tunnocks on the fab scans today!!!

Hugs for Velvet I'd definately get to an EPU if you can> It doesn't sound like a big issue but the reassurance value of a scan is huge.

I'm still getting brown - I looked back at my diary and it's been happening for a month today Confused During the day I manage to stay relatively calm about it but I'm finding I'm waking up at night worry that I've got an incompetent cervix or something. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow so if it is coming from the placenta taking over, hopefully it will stop soon. If not, I might push for more checks because the consultant's: "oh we wouldn't check your cervical competence unless you'd had several 2nd trimester losses" didn't entirely fill me with confidence - I'd much rather try not to lose this one than wait until I do and then close the proverbial stable door after the horse has bolted thank you very much!!!

Hope evryone has lovely weekends planned? My DH is pushing me to tell my family this weekend and I'm not sure why I'm so reluctant to do so!

nickstermum · 04/03/2011 18:34

digi, i think thats part of my problem.... poor tummy muscles!! Aah bless x

Velvetcu · 04/03/2011 17:56

orange glad your bean was behaving and you had a good scan :)

I've had no goo of any colour today so I don't know whats going on. Glad you all agree mw wasn't very helpful. I think I'm going to book a private scan for the 16th, at least it will give me something to focus on. I keep telling myself I've done 2 weeks now so I can do another 2.

I have a new symptom too - constipation and diarrhoea! It doesn't want to come out but when it does it won't stop! Am taking this as a good sign.

amazing news teacake! v v pleased for you. I'm another who was charting yet crl measuring a few days out. But heartbeat spotted so that is good.

orange how lovely!

pink yay for you too!

velvet you poor thing, definitely get your gp to refer you to your local epu. The one near me takes self referral but I don't know if that's because I have a long history there. The nurses and doctors there will be well aware of the tlc/early reassurance scans research that contribute to a higher rate of successful pregnancies. If not, quote the mc assoc info at them.

Have actually had far too busy a day hoiking ds around restaurants and supermarkets. Feeling a bit knackered now.

Rather embarassingly, I have a bump. Which is straining to give the game away despite wearing a very loose knitted dress today. It is mainly food but I can normally hold it in. Ab muscles seem to be completely non-existent.

OrangeGloss · 04/03/2011 17:41

Pink you're right doesn't matter how you see as long as everything's ok

PinkFondantFancy · 04/03/2011 17:38

knitter fab on the counselling!! When are you due another session?
