I've missed the pregnancy hate thread. Not worth looking at or getting upset about it. Well done those braver than me for posting if you did.

TTT, I know how you feel. We moved out of our flat in lovely North London in August. It is a right pain moving house. I cried every day at the thought of leaving my beloved flat and all our friends. We had all the aggro of moving but at the last moment the house we were buying fell through so we had to live with Mum for a couple of months while we found another. We were going to live in the South West, but we ended up in Scotland near DH's folks.

Tunnocks, good idea telling your colleague. You need an ally. Pink cm sounds ok, hope it stays that way. I remember I had green once, when I had a bad cold when pregnant with DS. Totally freaked out and cried in front of my SIL and her friend. Took them ages to calm me down. Her friend who'd had loads of kids said to expect rainbows and don't worry. Another friend bled loads throughout her pregnancy and had a healthy girl. That is why I get angry at stupid gp receptionists who think they are gatekeepers to the holy grail.

tonythetyger · 27/02/2011 19:49

We haven't bought the house - just renting it - and there wasn't a great deal of choice but we had to move by next week and were getting desperate. Ideally we'd like to buy (I'm getting really bad nesting urges) but haven't found anything we like or that is half way decent yet.

Pink - I think the affirmation idea is a good one together with my hypnotherapy cd if I can find it. I don't have time to work out how to get another scan or time to have it done and it's just bad feelings brought on by anxiety. No bleeding or anything to make me more worried. We went to a 4 year old bday party this afternoon and for some reason the idea took hold then (lots of noticeably pg women and other people with children) to the extent that I had to go into the loos to breakdown and recompose myself.

PinkFondantFancy · 27/02/2011 19:27

tunnocks I am going to keep everything crossed for you. Complaining is a great idea - the way they treated you is frankly negligent.

Last comment about the hate thread I promise - I've messaged mumsnet to ask them to take it off the 'discussions of the day' list to stop people accidently coming across it....

TTT I've been trying "my baby is safe, and well, and happy" - it works ok but stops working if proper mentalling sets in...

Tunnock I think you should definitely write and complain. It is shocking how they have treated you Sad. I had a moment with DD1 when she stopped moving for a day in late pregnancy {wistful emoticon}. The North London hardened receptionist would not let me see the doctor. When I told the doctor what had happened she was appalled and said that in future I should stage a sit in and insist to be seen immediately stating that the receptionist would be held personally responsible if anything were to happen to the baby or me. She was very embarrassed that they had no real control over the behaviour of their receptionists! Newly upduffed friend in same area is choosing to go private due to these sorts of issues - very cross making. Where we are now is much better - lovely surgery with guaranteed seen-on-the day service and a dedicated midwife - amazing what a postcode lottery it all is. I have all fingers crossed that your bean will stick.

TT fellow house move doubter - it kept getting smaller in my mind as we packed up our old house and I was so sad to say goodbye to the neighbourhood but settling in now. Fx it is better once you have your stuff in the place.

TT I am sure someone on here has a good mantra to help you through - I just can't think of it at the moment - something along the lines of 'no news is good news'

PinkFondantFancy · 27/02/2011 18:31

Just a quickie, mummya you have cemented my view this afternoon that you are the most wonderful woman. Good for you defending yourself today. I felt physically sick reading the posts on there this afternoon Confused. A new low was reached when louesh was told off....

nix what's the bear been up to today?

TTT have you got a scan booked this week? Although I said the zen wears off quickly, I should also say that I'd got myself into a proper tiz the day before the scan last week and was properly freaking out. No idea why, just had bad bad thoughts going round my head, so although it doesn't sustain zen, it does convert mentalling back to low grade anxiety again so worth it. (((hugs))) for the house doubts, I thnk it's normal even for non-pregnant non-hormone fuellef people to panic just before moving and think it's a horrible mistake, isn't it? I know I had it for sure. I love my house though and I know when you see it again you'll love your new one too.

tonythetyger · 27/02/2011 18:14

mummya thanks for the defence. I had intended not to read another word there but was too curious about what you'd posted. I think the problem which has been expressed a number of time is not that it's not perfectly reasonable to hate the symptoms and side effects of pregnancy (which can be pretty miserable) but to spill this over into a complete disdain for conception or having children when this is what all of us have been waiting and hoping for for so long feels very belittling. There are enough people who do it in RL "oh no, I'm pregnant again", "oh I guess I want it" "I'm just so fertile" without having to meet a load of [insert numerous adjectives] on the internet. Reason will not get through.

Have spent the afternoon convinced I'm going to lose them. And that I hate the house we're moving to on wednesday. Need to find some new things to do and help dh get stuff out the loft for when movers come.

A&R, what do you mean? Of course that's what you must do. We went to see some friends in Glasgow, we didn't have proper lunch. Spent the hour or so journey home fantasising about having a big fat gourmet burger and chips. I'm so hungry I can't wait until dinner so I've just been scoffing crackers and cheese. I'm also craving feta and salad so that's what we're having for dinner, (along with an Angus burger of course).

AandRMum · 27/02/2011 16:38

Grin my work here is done! Just consumed a haunch of cheese and more cookie dough than is healthy - hmmm Note to self - should not use BFP as an excuse to eat at will!

Hi cep! sorry in my Angry over the other thread I forgot to say hello. Thanks for the info about buses etc, will have a look later, though for now I am a bit scared of leaving my favourite threads where all the NICE people are Smile.
