I mentioned the incontinence to the midwife, and she said she'll check with the dr. Has just phoned back and said that I can take my meds after 14 weeks (with the proviso that the effects are unknown...).

Am not sure whether to go back on the meds or not, but I feel better knowing they're there if I need them.....

Hope all are having a good day

owlbooty · 28/02/2011 11:51

Nix yes - I was told 'no news is good news' i.e. if it's a high risk result they ring you within 3 days. Otherwise it was a letter in the post. Hopefully your low-risk letter is in the post :)

Tunnocks you poor thing :(

MrsRobin I went off tea too, couldn't even drink decaff or camomile :( It was a bit of a disaster as I got somewhat dehydrated (I only normally drink tea), but I did manage to stomach cold water mixed with bitter lemon. Might be worth ringing the scan dept to see if they can move it forward?

Knitter excellent work on getting everything started!

louise lovely to see you in here; hopefully it won't be too long before you join us for a bit of wibbling :)

mrsrobinredbreast · 28/02/2011 11:41

knitter Ooh, freebies. They know how to treat us mums to be, don't they?

Tunnocks Hang on in there! Plenty of cranberry juice for you me dear.

nics They would have called you with bad news, the fact it's been so long probably means that they'll just have the results waiting for you on your next appointment. Give them a quick call if you are worried.

Oh and knitter, yes I have tried caffiene free tea, it's all I drink usually but the thought of it makes me queasy. I hope this is a temporary blip, I'm usually a real tea jenny. Thanks for the suggestion though.

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 11:12

Well done on the freebies, apparently you can get free nappies online also... will see if i can find the post! (thats if you are happy to use pampers i suppose!) Maybe thats for further down the line...

HAVE NOT heard back from hospital about Downs bloods. They said i should hear back within 3 days if BAD news... its been 7. I hope that means i am low risk again :) FX

Just shed a tear after seeing on bookface the awaiting news post of my friend... birthing baby today, my DD. Happy for my friend but sad for me.... i did text her to say i was thinking of her... she never said she was thinking of me Hmm but then you dont i suppose!

ah... i cannot wait to be expecting the arrival of this one, i so so hope to get that far [hopeful emoticon]

Also the nice doctor gave me two free packs of Sanatogen mum to be vitamins... apparently sanatogen keep sending them free samples and they're glad of pregnant mums to give them to :-)

Hugs to moo too

Robin have you tried caffine free tea?

KnitterNotTwitter · 28/02/2011 11:06

Hey... just back from my doctors where I got the whole process started... she's done the referal to the hospital and so soon I should get my letter through for bloods and booking in appointment... fingers crossed i get that far... Still going to have a 9 week scan at EPU though

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 11:03

(((hugs for moo)))

mrsrobinredbreast · 28/02/2011 09:47

Morning all,

Good luck to all scanners today.

Emoo Good luck at the MW this morning. How many weeks are you now?

Tunnocks, the surgery def deserves a letter complaining about their shitty attitude. How are you today?

lovemy, I know what you mean about the sticking your head in the sand thing (and also about the waist increase - I could end up the size of a house!). I am taking the attitude what will be will be at the moment and have somehow tried to detatch myself from it all at the moment.

My scan app came through on Saturday for a different hospital to the one I thought I'd requested with my GP! He was also going to request that my dating scan was nearer 10 weeks given my mmc last time. For the date I've been given I'll be almost 13 weeks. Ho hum.

On the symptom front I am nauseous 90% of the time and gutted as I have gone off tea which is big news for me!

Waves to all.

loola2shus · 28/02/2011 09:45

quick hug for emoo FX they sort you out with a scan to put your mind at rest xx

Emoo · 28/02/2011 09:28

Morning all, just popping to say hello. Off to MW shortly to book in and beg for a scan. The bleeding peaked on Friday night then has tailed off, but there again so has the nausea, so I'm not quite sure what to think and am wavering at 50/50 this morning.

Will catch up later!
x

lovemysleep · 28/02/2011 09:27

Hello ladies - haven't been around for a few days, so I don't think I'll be able to catch up with you all - you've been busy!

but Tunnocks you should definately complain about your doctors - they have treated you terribly, and it wouldn't have taken much for them to see you.

Stomach upsets - mine's all over the place. Permanently bloated, so I actually look much more pg than I am, which is very bizarre....Incontinence, I'm afraid I can't help with that one, but I'll second pink in that it must be very common.

Was supposed to be going down to London to see Dr.Shehata for a scan today, but he's ill and has cancelled. Can't decide if I'm relieved or a bit miffed - would love to see the bean, and if it's grown etc, but am also quite happy to stick my head in the sand and not want to know what's going on, or if the bean is still alive.....Seem to have adopted a different attitude of late. It's a combination of why worry, I can't change what's going to happen, but also denial that anything bad will happen. Now that I've managed to get to 8 weeks, I can see that I've done that, so maybe I can manage another 4 weeks.

Am bloody knackered and measured my waist the other day - I have put on 3.5 inches in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm back in the loop, I'll be able to catch up properly with you all, as I'll keep an eye on here more regularly......have a good day x

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 09:02

daisy i have the upset stomach constantly, and the wind! YIKES! and yes have wee'd myself once or twice this pg thus far! Blush

PinkFondantFancy · 28/02/2011 08:39

daisy can definitely identify with the stomach upset issue-same here, all or nothing...!! Sorry about the incontinency thing, it must be v v common though? I would definitely mention it to your midwife today, hopefully she's seen it before. Hopefully if you put it on the pregnant threads someone helpful will come along before some people shout at you for scaring them that it might happen to them... Confused sorry, still a bit scarred from the incredible insensitivity on that other thread!!!

It's freeeeezing today!!!

Daisybell1 · 28/02/2011 08:11

Can I ask "Embarrassing Question of the Day"?

urge incontinency Blush

Does anyone else have it and how do you manage it? I was diagnosed a couple of years ago and prior to PG was on tablets which worked like a dream. But I can't take them any more and I've had a high number of 'near misses' Confused

I've done all the pelvic floor exercises in the world to no avail. Anyone else out there?

Daisybell1 · 28/02/2011 07:39

Tunnocks yes, I have had a constantly upset stomach (if that's what you mean) since I found out - its either all or nothing if you know what I mean Confused - regardless of what I eat.

Fingers crossed for you today, and I agree with the others that you should definitely complain. I feel so Angry that you have had such appalling treatment when I was treated so sympathetically. It is very unfair Sad

Good luck to Wombat and anyone else having scans today. I've got a MW appointment for bloods for my NT. Am going to wibble at her, I just know it....

louisesh · 28/02/2011 07:32

Your support plus from my other threads more than makes up for the negativety.

PinkFondantFancy · 28/02/2011 07:04

Cool they emailed me last night thanking me for the heads up and they said they'd take it off. Hurray.

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 06:54

Well done pink - currently the hate thread is no longer on discussions of the day!

nickstermum · 28/02/2011 06:53

how are you doing honey? Lots of insensitivity on that thread sadly. The somewhat viciousness of some of the mumsnet posters sometimes leaves me Shock hence i am very very select where i post. Look forward to hearing of a bfp very soon xx

Thanks pink thankfully i havent had time to think much about it with the weekend and all. DS spent the night in our bed last night after developing a nasty cough...doesnt cough in our room (?!?) bizarrely! Working today so at least that will keep me pre-occupied. Am quite chilled out, maybe i wont be tonight! Will see :)

KnitterNotTwitter · 27/02/2011 22:30

Pink Initially I thought you meant 199 magpies... but then realised that you probably meant posts :)

Thanks for the nice words. Squishy hugs to you...

PinkFondantFancy · 27/02/2011 21:44

knitter Blush I'm afraid I'm responsible for about 199 of those.... Good work on the lack of detection on the booze front-diet is a good cover story, I'll try and remember that! All sounds v promising on the symptoms front, fingers crossed for you.

louisesh glad you're doing ok-I've hidden the thread so I can't see what's going on but I hope they've left you in peace. Im also so sorry to hear avout your journey. You are so brave and incredibly inspiring-I wish you all the best for the future.

teacake good luck at work tomorrow.

nix I'll be thinking about you tomorrow nice lady, I hope it goes as well as can be expected-go gentle on yourself.

Any scandudes due for scannage this week?

Night all xxxx

mummyabroad · 27/02/2011 21:42

Hi louiseh Just wanted to say I am really sorry for your loss, and that I am really Shock by the level of insensitive and unsympathetic comments on the "hate thread" I am glad that they havent upset you. Best of luck to you too xx

tonythetyger · 27/02/2011 21:32

Louise - are you the same Louise who was on parts 1 and 2 or thereabouts of the miscarriage thread and had a lots of mcs and then decided to adopt? I was tigger then (namechanged recently for avoiding RL person purposes). If so pleased to meet you again and am really sorry to hear your news.

KnitterNotTwitter · 27/02/2011 21:30

Hello lovely ladies

Well you've only done about 200 posts since I left on Friday lunchtime... no chance of catching up...!

Hen weekend was great and managed to fend off the 'why aren't you drinking' questions with Slimming World as my excuse... I think they bought it...

Symptoms seem to have changed - boobs are no longer sore and nipples no longer like walnuts, but boobs are definitely bigger; and I've had little spiky pains in my womb/abdomen - not twitches but little spikes.

Also there seems to be a lot of single magpies in the Cotswolds - don't recommend going there if you're as magpie sensitive as me :)

I'm hoping this is all good progress - I do keep convincing myself that the pregnancy is doomed but then telling myself to not be so silly.... Seriously doubt that I'll make it to the 18th of March before I got the EPU and ask for a scan though...

Hugs to all
